The Great Sheffield Flood was caused by the newly built Dale Dyke Dam’s wall breaking. It happened on the 11th of march 1864 and many parts of the city of Sheffield in northern England were flooded.
Explosion at an Indian Coal Mine
An explosion at a coal mine in Dhanbad, India on December 27th 1975 led to the deaths of at least 372 miners. Many of those killed escaped the blast that ripped through the mine, but a nearby reservoir was breached and the subsequent flooding killed large numbers of miners trapped far below the earths surface.
