When would you want to retire? Most would say when I’m old enough to collect Social Security. So they spend 40+ years.

When would you want to retire? Most would say when I’m old enough to collect Social Security. So they spend 40+ years working a J.O.B. that they probably hate, putting up with bosses and others they probably can’t stand, for what? A chance to live in poverty courtesy of the government who stole the money from you in the first place!

Many are trying to escape by working for themselves. Many will achieve their goal and are very satisfied with their chosen business. Hopefully you are among them.

The question still remains, when do you want to retire? Do you have a specific goal,to retire on a specific day,in a specific year?
Would you like to be able to do so and know without fail that you can achieve that goal? Would you like to be able to retire when you
desire regardless of age? Would you like to never again be dependent on the government or anyone else in order to attain that goal?
Would you like to be able to realistically retire in 24 months or less? Can you devote 1hr. a day to obtain that goal?

If you answered yes to any of those questions then let me show you how TNMM can put you on that road to retirement!
Simply go to http://j.mp/TheNextMillionaireMaker
If you like what you see get on the waiting list! Yes,you will have to join my waiting list to get into TNMM but the wait is worth it!

Once you activate your account into the program, start making your retirement plans!

If you want to get started this month you need to activate your account Today!

Its Never Too Late.

It seems its never too late to go back to school and learn something new, this 91 year old senior proves that.

Bertie Gladwin has just completed his masters degree in Intelligence History and now plans to do a PHD. Bertie didn’t want to do home learning so he joined twenty-something students in the busy corridors and classrooms.

This story amazed me, even more so because I’ve recently written two articles about whether its even worth going to university, clearly Bertie thinks it is! Going back to school is certainly an interesting retirement choice. Although is certainly keeps the mind active, I wonder what the other students must have thought and Bertie when they first saw him.

Funnily enough what they were studying in the Classroom the senior student had actually lived through it himself. That must have certainly helped him with his studies.

Here is the link to the original article, plus my article: is it worth going to university? And, Life After School?

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/i’m-not-stopping-yet–91-year-old-becomes-britain’s-oldest-masters-graduate.html

Trade unions can be defined as union of personnel that look for, through communal negotiation with company to:

progress and provide job security

advance and look after the real salary of their members

provide a hall for improved working environment or conditions

Protect workforce against undue discharge and other issues relating to employment legislation

recommend a range of other work-related services

With specific professions, industries, trades, individual trade unions have previously been linked. Certain examples of trade unions which are still on the go comprise of those linked with flight attendants, teachers and lecturers, bakers, food and allied workers, communication workers and those linked to the transport and general workers. All these work for the welfare of the people and community as a whole.

Trade unions play varied roles but the two chief roles or functions of a trade union are to symbolize their associates and to better bargain with the company. Augmented bargaining and cooperation authority which is emerged from acting together as a group or a union is the basic notion behind a trade union.

“Unity is strength” is basically the statement for trade unions. The affiliation between employer/trade unions has always been one of disagreement. Nevertheless, in other cases or situations, unions and employers council have a positive productive bond. From the company’s point of view, unionization can have many advantages/pros, as well.

In helping a business undergo significant change the trade union can be a supportive partner. In between the employees and the business, unions are part of the communiqué progression. Also, rather than talking it out or discussing with all employees separately, bargaining with trade unions save time and cost. If employees know that their wellbeing is being confined by trade unions, their self-esteem and incentive may be enhanced.

There had been a major decline in union membership in the UK sometime back in 2008. Among the masses in the UK, only 28 percent of the people had been trade union’s members. The aforementioned percentage is from varied sectors whereas; in private sector the percentage is much lower than 28 percent even. In private sector less than one in six employees is the member of the union. Nonetheless, Unionization is much elevated in the public sector which is over 50 percent.

There are many reasons for the turn down in trade unions’ membership but most important are mentioned below.

There has been an elevated expansion in the number of small firms which don’t feel the need for the trade union. They don’t believe in recognizing the necessity of it. Fewer perceived need for communal bartering due to an enhanced employee participation in the administrative center. A downfall in service in manufacturing is seen where union membership stands out as it plays a pretty vital role. Also, boost in service in the service sector where unions are less well recognized. Lastly, noteworthy expansion in lithe working places which may be temporary, part-time or seasonal. At these places employees require less need for union security.

Contacting a trade union in your country wil help you to understand more about the unemployment benefits for 2012 (Danish agents say dagpenge 2012). Good luck!

An article about housing options for senior citizens upon retirement.

Before deciding about housing options for senior living,
either for yourself or a relative, you need to first determine if assistance is
needed; what you can afford; and what health insurance might cover. While senior living could mean retirement
homes or retirement communities, it could also mean continuing to live in your
own home. Staying in your own home for
many years is frequently called “aging in place”. When thinking about senior living at home you
need to determine if health problems will allow you to live at home with or
without assistance. If assistance is
needed, are there family members or neighbors close by that can help you with
activities of daily living, household chores and transportation? Also consider that you might need costly home
modifications such as entry ramps and bathroom handrails.

Seniors are more mobile today and age is no longer a barrier
to enjoying a full and active life.
Retirement is seen now as a change in lifestyle rather than the end of
productive living. Seniors are traveling
more, dating, and living longer and healthier lives. As every situation is unique there are
different types of senior living facilities.
Whether a home in a gated retirement community, an apartment in a
retirement apartment building or in an assisted living facility, what may work
for one person may not be the best choice for another. If you are healthy and active consider a
retirement community where you can make friends your own age, play tennis, or
shoot a few holes on the golf course.
Many seniors move to another country where there is year round sunshine,
beaches, swimming, snorkeling and boating.

Life care communities, or continuing care retirement
communities (CCRs), offer a full range of services from independent living to
assisted living and nursing care. The
once dreaded “nursing homes” have appropriately changed their name to Health
and Rehabilitation Centers. They offer
private or semi-private rooms, healthy food, assistance with bathing if needed,
physical therapy, and daily activities either in the building or on field
trips. Licensed nurses distribute
medications and perform medical treatments as prescribed by the physician.

               If choosing the right senior
living arrangement is confusing to you there are agencies that can help you
make the right decision. One agency is
the National Council on Aging (NCOA) which “is committed to helping older
persons to maximize all resources, public and private, so that they can be as
independent as possible in the residence of their choice”. You can also talk to a Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) approved counselor about financial assistance resources. Remember, it is important to explore all the
options available before making any specific decisions.

Every program launched, be it for workers or employers, is there to cater their many needs at the time of avoiding stress. Workers’ compensation is one of them. It is designed specifically for the well-being of those workers who suffered from some sort of serious injury while they were performing their daily duty at work. Whenever an employee gets injured, the employer sends the injured person to a picked medical expert. These claims are there for a reason, to put the wounded person back on the road of recovery.

In olden days, when any worker was injured on the job, they hardly had any legal protection. It is only after the industrial age when a huge manufacturing jobs surge was experienced because of technological advancements when the workforce started experiencing far more serious injuries that cost them their entire jobs. They had to work alongside heavy machinery which resulted in injuries and their families were left struggling on their own without any means of earning. In certain cases, the injuries where so serious as a result of which the worker died. Workers’ compensation is a voice against this injustice which took place in the past.

Times have changed now. Today the workforce is recognized with the respect and dignity they deserve. Now the rules and general principles have changed, and new ones have been introduced to cater the growing needs of the workers. Now the law requires for the employers to assist their employees with these claims and benefits in case of any misfortune. If they sustain any sort of injury while they are at work, the employer will have to compensate the workers for their loss.

At any workplace, these claims play an extremely vital role for the working force. It doesn’t matter whether your job is seemingly harmless or potentially dangerous; an injury is an injury and it may cause the worker to lose their job. Even the smallest act of misconduct can cause serious harm to the health of the employee. In such an event, the employee may be handicapped or suffer from a disease that is potentially serious for their health. At a time like this, if the company is not willing to comply and compensate for this loss, where will the poor worker go? This is the reason why these claims have been set as a general principle at any workplace so as to protect the rights of the working class.

If any company wants to legally run their business they will have to include such benefits in their policy for the well-being of their employees. After all, employees are the backbone of any company. Without them, an organization cannot run efficiently and effectively. As a result, most of the employees are covered with insurance in case of an injury. Regardless of the injury being serious or slightly serious, the company has to cover it, if as a result you are unable to perform your work.

Workers’ compensation is a means for catering to the needy ones when they are injured while working for their boss. Workers’ compensation can bring any employee back on the road to recovery.

Are you retiring but have no pension? Do you have to worry about everything single thing you buy? Here is how to be a senior citizen on an income.

T

here are so many new ways to keep people alive longer. Because of this, many people retire and find themselves living social security check to social security check. This is called living on a fixed income.

One thing a lot of retirees is not to live as high as you did when working.

www.30goalsby30.wordpress.com

One thing a lot of senior citizens sell their house and get an apartment. If while you were living in your house you had to pay somebody to do the lawn mowing and snow shoveling. In an apartment you won’t have to worry about paying that.

www.gannonknight.com

Don’t buy a new car and have to pay high monthly payments. Instead, get a used car and pay smaller payments each month. Or if you have enough money, go to the want ads and get a cheap used car and pay for it all and you have to worry about car payments each month.

In every workplace, there is an organization which represents its members. This organization is known as a trade union (in Danish they use fagforening). You can always be a part of a union that represents you. When you join a union, you become a part of that particular worker’s group in your profession. There are all types of workers in a company or organization, and different types of unions are there for different types of workers. This ranges from medical professionals to construction laborers. There is always a head of this union who represents you. If you are a union member, your head will represent you in any sort of negotiations with the employer. Similarly, being a part of this group, you allow the leader to represent you. Any issue that occurs like wages, working environment and conditions, benefits and incentives is dealt directly with your employer, and the leader is the one who negotiates these factors with higher authorities. Other than that, if you personally have any issue going on with your employer, your union can represent on your behalf at any sort of grievance or disciplinary hearing.

There are many ways through which you can be a part of a trade union. All you need to do is keep in consideration certain factors and you can easily be a part of an organization that represents the working class. To be part of a union, you first need to look for a group that does the same kind of work that you do, and has somewhat similar interests. You can always look for a union at your workplace, or ask your co-workers. To get more information on related unions in your local area, you can visit certain websites. These websites represent a wide range of unions that cover a huge number of professions.

Every union has certain requirements; certain criteria should be fulfilled in order to be eligible. You need to ensure that you meet these requirements before you apply for a membership. You can always visit the desired union’s official webpage to get a firsthand insight on the criteria or requirements that will allow you to be a part of their group. The union might have an official headquarter as well. You can always make a call there to get to know about every bit of detail you have in mind. To be a part of that union, you need to fill out an application form and pay the dues required for membership. If you feel the dues are a bit more than you can handle, you can ask for a reduction as a new member. The union may be happy to comply with this as it is there to help and serve the working class.

There may be certain workplaces that don’t any trade union at all. If there isn’t any, you can always form one. There is a paragraph under the National Labors Act which allows workers to form a union if there isn’t any. Talk to your co-workers about forming a union that can represent them when there is an issue or conflict going on between the employers and employees.

A trade union is there to help and represents all those workers who face a hard time at work or with their employers. Being a part of any trade union (fagforeninger in Danish), you need to take privileges that come along with it, but at the same time, don’t go about making a mockery of the system.

Would you like to be a Trade union agent? A union agent or representative usually covers the work very important for the working of a union. The duties of a union representative are numerous. Remember, a union agent or representative always work for the improvement and better tomorrow of workers. You have to keep this point in mind if you are interested in involving into this duty. Do you have any idea about the role of a union agent? The people who are interested to join a union as an active agent should focus on the important points and factors mentioned in this article below.

A union representative makes connections with the workers and union members. Remember, the trade unions are organized and run by the members. A board of members is selected by the workers for the working process of a union. These members choose the president or leader of union by giving a vote. No doubt, there is a hell of differences between the responsibilities of a union member and representative but the purposes of both the sides are similar. A union agent gets the orders from the members of a union and conveys the messages to workers. It means the union agents work as a message provider. Yes, by providing messages to the workers the agents play a role of a bridge or a link between the union members and workers. Are you interested for this job? If you are interested to do this job then you should be an active and efficient member of a Trade union.

You can get the attention of workers by taking a part together with them. For example, the union agents are called to handle the grievance issues of workers. Remember, it is the best time to make a worker for your union. You have to visit them to support them. A little support may change the mind of workers so you are suggested to focus on this factor. The grievance procedure is the main step or job for a union representative. You have to solve the problems of workers. Yes, it is called conflict resolutions. If there are some conflicts between two workers or between two groups of workers then you should play a role of neutral judge to solve the issue. A Trade union (fagforening in Danish terms) representative is mostly called to see the positions and to see the conflicts of workers. Don’t you want to get attention of union workers? In order to get the attention of union workers it is important to do these jobs.

Provide information to the workers. A union agent always updates the workers about the current situation of a running dispute with the employers. For example, if a Trade union is negotiating for the higher salaries of workers then union agent will update the workers about the current progress and situations. Remember, to maintain the trust and confidence of workers it is very important to inform them about the issues and matters. By covering these things you can become a good Trade union agent.

How I suffered discrimination from my own people some of whom hated me, and done all they could to try to bring me down.

When I worked as a Youth Officer in Wolverhampton Council for Community Relations during the 1980’s, the Senior Community Relations Officer who was much darker than I, resented me and done all within his power to make my job uncomfortable hoping I would leave.

He called me into his office, as I sat at his desk he asked me to put my hand on the desk and then he placed his hand beside mine, ‘what colour do you call that he said referring to my hand, ‘black I replied ‘what colour do you call this pointing to his hand, ‘when I replied black he retorted are you colour blind pointing to my hand, that is white he said, I am black, you are not.

I was speechless but I had been aware of this mans attitude long before, I was not surprised at what he said.

He followed me into my office and his words were, I am getting rid of you this year.

I was looking through your papers and realise you are 60 in October, if you are not looking forward to your retirement I am.

When I asked him why is he looking forward to my retirement he replied I was too old to work with the Wolverhampton Council for Community Relations. I replied no arrangement was made by the Community Relations Council for my retirement. Although I continually requested I should pay a Retirement Pension in line with the C.R.E. members of Staff, this was refused, therefore I have no Retirement Pension and I cannot be forced to retire without a pension.

He replied we can get around that by making you redundant, my reply to him was we shall see and he replied you have no choice you signed the Contract of Employment which states you will retire at 60, and I will see you will retire.

Since then each time we met I was continuously taunted with retirement and his attitude was one of mocking.

From the beginning of the Senior Community Relations Officers harassment I decided to record each time these harassments took place. On 29th March 1982 I was called to his office at around 3.30, it was about the Casework I had just done, when I was asked by him if he did not tell me not to do Casework I tried to explain it was a client of mine who trusted me implicitly and would not see anyone else.

He replied, no one is going to dictate to him how to run his office, and I am to do no more Casework helping people.

He said my trouble was I would not conform and that is why he must get rid of me, he told me if this happens again he will invoke the disciplinary procedure.

On 15th April 1982 again I was called into his office this time because he was angry about something which had transpired at the Union meeting, when I told him I had nothing to do with it he said I was a lier.

The argument which took place between the S.C.R.O and myself resulted in him telling me when he fights, he fights to win, and when he wins it seems I will have to go, and if he looses he will go.

I assured him I was quite prepared to fight but pointing out in the end neither he nor I would be the winner or the looser and the only people who would win would be the enemies of the Community Relations Council and the people who do not wish good relations within the community.

On 29th April 1982 I was again called into his office this time after I had returned from sick leave. I was asked by him if I could do him a favour by writing my resignation and handing it to him quietly this he claimed was necessary as he did not think I was fit enough for the job and therefore I should leave on my own accord.

I told him I had no intention of leaving and walked out of his office.

From time to time over the past 3 years I was often approached by him telling me don’t I think I am too old for the job and how he was looking forward to my leaving.

It was during my time of working in Wolverhampton Community Relations and being constantly harassed by the Senior Community Relations Officer, that I sadly suffered a mild heart attack.

As a retired electrician it scares me to some of the work carried out by so called "qualified electricians" in this article I help you understand a little bit about the world of electrical qualifications and how to choose a competent and safe electrician.

It is very important to choose a good company to carry out your domestic electrical services because if you choose an unprofessional company the outcome could be potentially dangerous to you and your family.

As a Father and an electrician I am always thinking about safety in and around my home. It scares me to think that there are some so called “electricians” out there who put families like mine in danger every day by not following a few simple safety procedures. In this article I am going to talk you through a few things you can do to make sure the electrician you employ is following the IEE wiring regulations who are the UK standard to which all industrial and domestic wiring must conform.

When I say that electricians must comply with IEE wiring regulations it means that all electrical work carried out by viable practitioners is to the latest high practise procedures laid out by the IEE Wiring Regulations BS7671. Good practitioners should also keep up to date with all amendments made to these regulations therefore keeping their work safe and correct, the latest regulation is amendment 17. I know you are all thinking “how on earth am I meant to know if they are complying with these regulations”, well the truth is you won’t know but one of the easiest way to find out if they comply is to ask. That’s right you read that correctly, just ask and see what their reaction is, if they look blank then you know that this is not the right electrician for you.

Of course that isn’t the only way to filter out the cowboy electricians, another great way is to go by word of mouth. Ask some of your friends who carries out their electrical services because chances are they are either going to recommend an electrician who is efficient and knows what they are doing or tell you who to stay away from. On electrical company’s websites they usually display testimonials from past customers, in my experience most of these are often genuine but this is not always the case. A good way to test their testimonials is by asking to speak to past customers and maybe arrange to go and look at their work, this way you will find out if the company is trustworthy or not.

Of course there are many other ways to find a safe and efficient electrician but I hope my suggestions will help to protect you and your family in the future.

I chose PR Electrical Services for my electrical works. Their electrician in Bournemouth was so helpful and professional
