It is exciting yet funny how there are all these mystical sightings of unheard of animals or bi pads, but due to lack of evidence the witnesses are looked at as nut cases. However, what if what they saw is true? What if their sighting of a hairy-tall-biped or a flying creature of some sort is true?

Just last year, a crack team (Destination Truth) have found hair as well as foot prints from a unidentified being… In nonprofessional terms, the DNA that was taken found that the follicle evidence did not match any living or extinct animal in their database, which found in the Himalayas, thought to be the proof of the existence of the Yeti. Amazing! Or for the more skeptical: peculiar”

The truth is that witnesses traveling or in the woods at a certain time a night who has or has been thought has been consuming an amount of drugs or alcohol are always seen as embellishing the facts of their encounter, The truth is… the being that the subjects witness may be a few feet larger… A little bit more scarier or threatening in appearance… Nevertheless, no matter what little subtractions or additions the account that was witness always holds some amount of truth.

Numerous encounters around the planet have been documented and underestimated where people have been noted to witness the unheard of. However, on the more realistic level how much of our own world has not been investigated? Has not been monitored or surveyed to the point anyone can be completely sure.

Legends and myths begin with an encounter, at what point do the story listeners want to take a minute to dive in and turnover the myth to reveal the ultimate and undisputed truth… No one!!! Teams by PBS, Discovery, National Geographic, TLC, History, and other well-known reality TV and documentary channels, which only have limited time as well as normally use abrupt methods and teams that are not educated in tracking but more in the areas of technology and entertainment.

This means a crack team of 5 or more people are unleashed into the wilderness to hunt and reveal the mystical creatures that lurk in the shadows of our existence. However, these crews rush to the scene, the location of the disturbance or noise in such a way that the creature they are hunting will have already have taken notice, Like hunting a white tailed doe the slightest crack of leaves and branches sets them running. As any game the most efficient way to catch if the beings existed is to monitor an area for months rather than hours or two to three days,

What I am really saying is that if a creature is truly hiding under the radar, per se wouldn’t they be keen to the sight and smell of humans? Wouldn’t the best method of film capture host the idea that the creatures reported are and should be filmed with more time allocated to the investigator. In addition, if they do not exist why are they still being seen with the similar likeness of another witness?

If these issues are truly mythical, then why not let investigators do a completely thorough and lengthy investigation? Where at least their findings can leave us, the public, at some conclusion where we can sleep a bit easy? For those that are not losing sleep over it, answer our wondering questions.

Near Mount Adams in Washington State there is a cave called “Ape Cave” because the first people who discovered it were chased from its entrance by an ape that emerged and began throwing stones at them. Near the Three Sisters Mountains in the high pine wilderness of Oregon, tales of the existence of Sasquatch are reported.

I met a man near McCall, Idaho who claimed that years before he and some hunting buddies were harassed and attacked one night by a great monster who slunk around the perimeter of the campfire they kept fueled to prevent the beast’s closer approach. The beast snapped off saplings and uprooted small trees all around the perimeter of the camp. At daylight, the monster retreated, and they made their escape—leaving a side of smoked bacon beside their tent. When they returned, they discovered great footprints unlike any bear, which, if it had returned, would have stolen that bacon. The man was certain they had been accosted by Big Foot.

Who am I to say otherwise?

A frank discussion about whether or not bigfoot is about to become extinct.

Is Bigfoot in Danger of Extinction?

First of all, I often refer to bigfoot as simiabipedal. It’s a Latin word which literally means, ape that walks on two feet. Simiabipedal, or bigfoot as he is popularly known, has more than likely inhabited the earth at least as long as man. The species has been observed on every continent in the world. But unfortunately, history and science tell us that the big fellow may be in danger of disappearing; and that before he is even formally discovered.

Consider the Wolf and the Big Cat

Right here in the United States, the wolves and the cougars and panthers were once prolific. Their territories ranged for thousands of miles in most of the continental forty eight states. Now their ranges are limited to a few small areas in the west; mostly in the national parks like Yellowstone and Grand Canyon NP. What happened? Man is what happened. Early man came and colonized the land and began to push the indigenous animals into other territories, or to extinction in some places. But the big cats and the wolves were not alone. There were bears and elk and buffalo and…I believe…bigfoot as well. The buffalo were nearly rendered extinct in the 1800’s, but fortunately were saved by twentieth century conservationism. The bear population was decimated and is now only a shadow of its original numbers. Bigfoot is no exception. I’m sure that the current world population of simiabipedal is now but a tiny fraction of what it once was, because man did the same thing everywhere on the planet.

Is Bigfoot Already Extinct?

No, thank God, the big fellow is not extinct yet. We know this because of the eyewitness sightings and footprints that have been reported and documented all around the world. But it’s plain to see that most of the sightings are limited to certain areas; mostly those wilderness places that man has not yet heavily encroached upon. The more difficult a wilderness for man to navigate, the more that habitat seems to be populated by bigfoot. Like the huge forests of the great northwest here in the US, and the extensive swamps and woodlands of Texas and the other southern states, bigfoot seems to have made himself very much at home in the environments that we consider too wild for us. There are exceptions of course. Eastern and southern Ohio, as well as some of the heavier wooded areas of New York State do seem to be supporting a small population of simiabipedal that are holding on for now; but for how long? As we continue to expand and develop these few, small wild areas the prospects for the x-creature’s future survival continue to diminish.

What Can I Do

I know that it can be difficult and frustrating for those of us who believe to push for conservative protection of an animal that has not even been formally discovered yet. How can we hope to have any protection laws passed if definitive proof of the creature’s existence is inconclusive? The answer is that definitive and conclusive proof of the animal must be procured and presented to the scientific community. There are many individuals and groups out there who are trying to do just that. The work has been tedious and difficult to say the least. But never has their continued efforts been so important. Never has their persistence been more necessary than it is now. For I fear that if proof is not discovered and presented soon, what is left of the bigfoot population in this country and around the world will start to slide away quickly.

There are some of you reading this article who may have made your own bigfoot discoveries but don’t know who to bring your evidence to. If that is the case, and if you believe that you have any important information or evidence about the existence of bigfoot, you can e-mail The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization at: contact@bfro.net or call them at: 408-634-2376.

Hopefully, we can work together to reveal this hidden creature to the world before it slips away from us forever.

For as long as memory serves, the strange, the mysterious, the enigmatic has attracted my attention and excited my imagination. From my earliest days as a child, I found myself naturally gravitating toward the unexplained, the unusual; you know those unique bits of reality that conventional science just never could pin down.

Image Source: A Floating Fractal City Variation One by Bill M. Tracer

Of course, most of those “conventional” type scientists don’t even try to explain this kind of stuff, except to deny its existence, or to pigeonhole it as fringe or pseudo without even really looking into any of the supportive data. As they would put it; it was swamp gas reflecting off of the planet Venus, accentuated by the distant lighthouse shining through the fog. Never mind that at the time our hypothetical “incident” took place, Venus had not yet risen into the sky, and it was a clear night in a decidedly non-swamp environment.

So they just pass it off, saying things like, “If Bigfoot is real, then why hasn’t anyone ever found tangible evidence of one? If UFOs were real, then why haven’t they landed on the White House lawn? If secret societies really existed, wouldn’t there be whistle-blowers?”

What they fail to see is that if they bothered to actually examine the data on these subjects, they’d find there is considerable tangible evidence in every one of these cases.

For instance, there’s a growing body of evidence of an upright primate, possibly descended of Gigantopithecus, in various wild locations in both Asia and North America. This evidence consists of physical traces, not just foot prints; but also hair, feces and even indications of nests, similar to those made by gorillas and chimpanzees. The skeptic’s argument that sufficient numbers of such primates could not existence in the wild, without our knowing it was proven to be completely false in the summer of 2008. For it was then that researchers announced the discovery in northern Republic of Congo in central Africa a previously unknown population of gorillas exceeding 100,000 living deep in the jungle. This finding more than doubled the known estimates of their population worldwide, but prior to this discovery, this particular Congo jungle group of gorillas had gone undetected by wildlife conservation researchers. See this CNN World article for confirmation of this report. More than 100,000 rare gorillas found in Congo

We can now turn their refuting question right around and ask, “So if these 100,000 gorillas really exist in the wilds of central Africa, then why haven’t we found even a shred of evidence of their existence before now?” Oh wait, those 100,000 plus gorillas do exist, and have existed without our knowledge for all this time, until we finally learned about them in 2008. Hmm, I guess we’re just not all knowing are we? New species are being discovered all over the Earth, constantly. It is obviously still very possible for tangible animals to exist in the wild places of this planet without “common” knowledge. So don’t tell me you know Sasquatch can’t exist. You might believe these creatures don’t exist, or even think they don’t, but you don’t know they don’t.

Now as for why UFOs haven’t landed on the White House lawn, that’s pretty obvious. Among other things, it’s because that’s not a proper landing site! Besides, if one or more had landed there, say back in 1952, when huge numbers of UFOs were sited and yes even filmed flying over the capital, what makes the skeptics think we’d ever actually hear about such a landing, anyway? Just like any real UFO story with true meat, such a landing would promptly be covered-up, of course.

Even aside from our own government’s obvious cover-ups, what makes the skeptics think the occupants of these craft necessarily desire their activities to be general knowledge to the populace at large? Then too, we need to consider the possibility that when they did land in DC back in 1952, they most likely started using telepathic mind control on those in charge, and have been covertly running the show from behind the scenes ever since. That being the case, the continued cover-up becomes even more poignant and eminently explicable. Aliens that don’t really have our best interest in heart, actually secretly in charge would explain a great deal about the extent to which our governments have so screwed up our world.

E Pluribus Zeta Reticulians by Bill M. Tracer

And so far as secret societies go, there have been many whistle-blowers, and there continue to be. How do you think we even know anything about secret societies, to start with? Yes, the reason is indeed precisely because of whistle-blowers that have leaked information about them to the public. Of course, when the whistle-blowers blow their whistles, the skeptics just conveniently say that their stories are not credible, or they simply ignore the very existence of these whistle-blowers, continuing to pretend they don’t exist.

The so called logic of skeptics is not logic at all; it’s merely bullheaded stubborn close mindedness, and nothing more. To the skeptics, I say, open your eyes, and more importantly open you mind, and start really looking. If you do that, you will undoubtedly be surprised by some extraordinary enigmatic facts that actually go far beyond Fortean fantasies.

Do you believe in Bigfoot? Some people do and some people don't. But there are a few people who actually tell of meeting the mysterious woodlands creature that seems more myth and legend than reality. One man tells his story of meeting Bigfoot in the rolling hills of north-central North Carolina about ten years ago.

While traveling in North Carolina recently to visit relatives, I got to talking with a fellow I have known for years. He and I are not exactly friends, but he is a friend of the family. I was surprised to learn he supposedly had a run-in with a Bigfoot creature about 10 years ago. We talked for a while and I asked him if I could interview him for an online article. He agreed as long as I did not use his real name. For sake of the following tale, I’ll call him Bill. Here is his story, retold by me from notes I made while talking with him.

“It was about ten years ago when I run into the Bigfoot creature, or whatever it was.

“At the time I lived in a trailer up near the Virginia line, not too far from South Boston. I was going to college at Duke University in Durham at the time, and it was about an hour’s drive to get to campus every day. Thank goodness most years I only had classes two or three days a week, because that’s not the most exciting drive to make.

“For morning classes, I had to get up real early, usually by about four (a.m.). First thing I usually did was get a shower and eat breakfast. Then I had to feed my dog, she was an old beagle, and then I would take her outside for a good walk before I would have to leave for school.

“One morning I was out walking her, I guess I must have been about four thirty or five o’clock, when we heard something tearing through the woods behind my place. Now I know even a squirrel can make a lot of noise, especially in the middle of the night when there’s no other sounds, but this was a lot louder than that. There were tree limbs cracking, and whatever it was sounded real heavy as it stomped through the woods.

“Now I’ve heard stories of black bears in that part of the country, even seen a few pictures, but I’ve never personally seen any. My thought at the time was that it must be a black bear. So I rushed my beagle inside because I didn’t want her to get hurt.

“I was standing there in the trailer door unleashing my dog when the sounds from the woods got closer, as if something were tearing through the trees coming toward me.

“I didn’t think. I shoved the dog further into the house and reached for a rifle that was hanging in a rack in a little closet across from the washer and dryer. I should have just gone in the house and shut the door, but that didn’t occur to me for some reason.

“I grabbed the rifle, it was only a .22, a Marlin I think, and pulled out the clip to make sure it had ammo. It did, so I put the clip back in and jacked in a round. Then, as that noise was getting louder and closer, I stepped out onto the back patio and kicked the door closed behind me. If it was a bear or something, I didn’t want to chance it getting in the house and I didn’t want to chance my dog running outside to attack this thing.

“I didn’t raise the rifle to my shoulder, but it just sort of hung from my right hand, ready in case I needed to bring it up.

“I think I walked out to the end of the patio where there was a short wooden fence, and I stared into the woods. I couldn’t see much because it was so dark back in the trees, but there was one of those big lights that the electric company provides up a pole over the trailer.

“Then suddenly there it was in front of me, no more than twenty yards away. It tore out of the trees and came to a standstill right there, not moving, just staring back at me. It’s chest was heaving up and down a little, as if it had trouble breathing or something, but other than that it did not move.

“I don’t rightly know how to describe it. It was huge, taller than me, and covered in hair from head to foot. For a second the idea of it being a grizzly popped into my head, but I knew there weren’t any grizzly bears in that part of the world. But I had seen penned grizzlies in Cherokee, North Carolina, and this thing was every bit as big as they were.

“It’s fur was a dark brown, and it’s face was sort of like that of an ape, but it didn’t have the big mouth of an ape and its eyebrows protruded more than that of an ape. It’s eyes were the scariest thing. They were real human, just like somebody looking right at you.

“But the thing didn’t seem mean or angry or threatening. It just stood there staring at me, sort of as if it were sizing me up, but not as if it were going to attack. More like it wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to attack it, be a threat to it.

“I couldn’t move. I just stood there staring at it, frozen.

“Then it turned and walked back into the woods, slow this time, not making near as much noise as it had earlier.

“That’s when I noticed my dog was howling its head off inside the trailer. I stood outside a little longer, but soon I couldn’t hear anything in the woods, so I went back into the house.

“I was pretty shaken up. I didn’t go to Duke that day, but stayed home. Part of me didn’t want to leave the house because I was afraid that thing might come back and break in and hurt the dog. But I never saw it or heard of it again.

“I’ve asked around a little bit, and no one else around here that I know of has ever seen such a thing in these parts. But I don’t like to tell too many people what I’ve seen, because then they think you’ve gone crazy or you were drunk or high when it happened.”

Article on several spottings of Bigfoot in and around the Reading, Pennsylvania area in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Well, It has finally happened. Bigfoot was spotted several times over this weekend near the city of Reading, Pennsylvania which is located in the Southeastern part of the state. What makes these sightings so extraordinary was that they took place almost in city limits and in daylight hours. A total of five witnesses claimed to have seen the legendary creature but no pictures were taken. The sightings were all in a five mile radius in a wooded area with thick vegetation. Local police are calling the sightings mysterious but are reassuring the public that it was most likely a bear that got misidentified. Of course, for the people that claimed to have seen this, that reasoning does not add up.

Below are some of the statements made from the witnesses of seeing Bigfoot:

“It came out of the forest walking on two legs with several beer cans in his hands”

“I never seen anything like it, it was actually wearing eyeglasses!”

“We did not find any footprints but we did find some cigarette butts where the creature was spotted”

“The funny thing was that it winked at my wife and then blew her a kiss”

“I yelled at the creature to stop and he gave me the finger!”

So is Bigfoot getting ready to make an appearance in our cities? According to the statements above, he certainly has the right attitude and lifestyle. Don’t you agree?

These are some theories that someone told my dad.

These are some ideas and theories that a scientist told my dad, he helped invent the atomic bomb. Here is what he said:

Have you ever wondered if the pictures you see on the internet of aliens are real? The answer is not usually, aliens look generally like human beings. No huge eyes and no giant head. Please realize that this scientist did NOT say that he has seen an alien but then again he probably wouldn’t say he had seen one even if he really did, this is because he was a scientist for the US Military and he could get in big trouble for saying that has seen aliens and alien spacecraft. Therefore most pictures you see on the internet of aliens are either fake or just a person with some sort of ‘costume/disguise’

Alien communication:

Do aliens speak the same languages as the ones we have on earth? Well, actually they do not speak to communicate, they communicate through mind. If an alien were to communicate with you then you would actually be able to understand what they are saying very clearly and they could understand anything you were saying to them in your mind. I think this is very interesting because that means that on the movie ‘Signs’ if you have seen it then you might remember that they were wearing the foil hat things to block out their minds from aliens. That means that that movie had somewhat accurate information in it! But I don’t think that wearing a foil hat to block out communication with aliens is a major concern because for one thing it probably wouldn’t work because you can still think, the only difference is that you would look stupid while you are thinking, haha!

Alien spacecraft:

When most people say they saw a UFO they say that it never made any noise. I am going to explain how they work and why they are so quiet. First off there is NO engine, you might be wondering how they move without an engine right? Well, they use magnets to move, that’s right, magnets. First off you will need to understand that ALL planets have magnetic poles or at least some kind of magnetic core. Whenever they want to go to a different planet or something they target their giant magnet at the planet they want to go to and it just pulls them to the planet! Genius aliens one of the reasons that humans can’t make spacecraft like this is because we do not have the right materials.

Ok now I know you have been waiting to hear about this…

SASQUATCH THEORY:

Remember, this is just a theory… A theory from a scientist who helped invent the atomic bomb!!! Ok here it is, he thinks that these aliens that visit earth sometimes crash. These aliens are not used to the environment and air here and therefore they can mutate and ‘evolve’ into a big 10 foot tall hairy ape creature and the reason they are found in mountains and away from civilization is because they are afraid of being seen by our civilization while looking like a sasquatch.

Ok now here is what I think about this sasquatch theory… I think that it basically says that the theory of evolution could be possible, but not in the way we think it is… maybe monkeys and other apes evolved from aliens! Think about it… it is possible!

Hope you liked this article! If you want to ask any questions about aliens or sasquatch just leave a comment haha!

Does Bigfoot really exist?

If you were to tell me that you had seen Bigfoot, I would probably laugh. I am not quite convinced that he exists. But there are plenty of people who strongly believe that Bigfoot really exists, so I thought I would delve deeper into the subject and investigate it myself.

Bigfoot, or Sasquatch, is supposed to be a large, hairy creature that walks on two legs. It is said to be desended from apes. Like all apes, most of the tracks found that allegedly belong to this creature have five toes. Most ‘eye witnesses’ describe Bigfoot as being about 6′10″ and about 500 pounds.

The legend of Bigfoot is not new. According to Wikipedia, in the 1840’s a protestant missionary put together a book of Bigfoot stories he had heard from some Native Americans in Washington. The Native Americans believed that the creatures really did exist and that they lived on top of mountain peaks nearby. Then, in the 1920’s, a man named J.W. Burn wrote some newspaper articles, depicting the stories of Bigfoot from different cultures and regions. He was the person who came up with the name, Sasquatch.

It was in the 1950’s that Bigfoot really became popular. This was when footprints of Sasquatch started to show up, and when one was photographed by a man named Eric Shipton. More and more, people were seeing Bigfoot tracks. The media swarmed on this news and it seemed everyone was questioning whether or not Bigfoot really existed.

Image via Wikipedia

In the 1960’s, the most prominent piece of evidence to the existance of Bigfoot was made. Roger Patterson and Robert Gimlin were out horseback riding, when they spotted Bigfoot and caught him on tape. This became known as the Patterson-Gimlin film. Scientist have struggled over this film, investigating it frame by frame. Some argue that you can actually see the muscles moving beneath the fur, so it could not be a costume. Some argue that it could very well be a costume because you can’t distinguish where the elbows and wrists are: it could just be someone in an oversized suit. Years later, a friend of Patterson and Gimlin, Bob Heironimus, came forward and claimed that he had been the Bigfoot in the film. He claimed that Patterson and Gimlin had promised to pay him a thousand dollars to do it, and that if they had gone through with their promise, he would not have told on them. Still, many believe this film to be the real thing. Others say that if it isn’t, then it is a really well done hoax.

It is not just America that these creatures have been sighted in. There have been sightings all around the world. In Tibet, they are called the Yeti, in Austrailia, the Yowie, in Europe, Grendal, Kaptar.

I have read that numerous scientists claim that a creature that big could not exist and us not know about it. How arrogant is the human race? We discover new creatures all the time, and find that ones we thought were extinct, still exist. Why do we find it so hard to believe that Bigfoot could exist? This is a big planet. And I think that something that may not want to be found, could find a way to stay hidden.

So, does Bigfoot exist? Well, as of now, there isn’t enough evidence to prove that he does.

But there isn’t enought to prove that he doesn’t either.

Only I used to think there was only one of them but now I believe there is a population of them all over the world. One hundred and fifty people in Whitehall, New York all claim to have come in close contact with Bigfoot or “Sasquatch” in their lives. I saw this on the History Channel.

All these people took lie detector tests about what they seen and if they believe it could have been their imaginations. They all said that they seen bigfoot and that it was not in their imaginations. They answered other questions also and all of them passed the lie detector test.

The person giving the test said that he was trained to be objective and not render the person to be lying or telling the truth all through out the test. He even said, in his opinion, all these people saw a creature that we have been giving the name Bigfoot or Sasquatch.

There is more to the story. Comment if you want me to write more about this subject please.

The Century long debate of the reality of the Yeti now comes to a rest.

Image via Wikipedia

Legend has it that an eight-foot, furry primate exists within the dense forests of the Himalayas in Nepal. For hundreds of years people have questioned the Yeti’s existence, and the convinced natives, or Sherpa. Eyewitnesses of the yeti claim it has reddish fur, walks upright, and has conical shaped head. During the night, it is said that the yeti eats village yaks and goats. Yet, hardly any solid, tangible evidence of any of this has materialized because of the elusive nature of the creature. But to rule out the possibility that the mystical creature even exists is equally unsupported with evidence. The question isn’t, “Does the yeti, in actuality, exist?” The question we should be asking ourselves is, “Is there a possibility that the yeti still exists today?” Through substantial research,

In a science news article, “Is This the Footprint of Yeti, the Abominable Snowman of Himalaya?” Scientist editor Stefan Anitei explained that evidence involving, so called yeti footprints, was extracted from the banks of Manju River in the Khumbu region. Josh Gates, host of Sci Fi’s “Destination Truth”, was credited with the rare finding but his excitement was dampened when, after thorough examinations of the print, findings showed five toes existed, when legend has it that the Yeti only has four. Among this startling epiphany and other erroneous assumptions, in the end, all leads led to dead ends, leaving the mystery still intact. Some protested the fact that the footprint castings even belonged to the Yeti. Rumor had it that the ‘mysterious tracks’ might have just been the common tracks of a local mountain bear. Unfortunately, no clear conclusions were made in this article.

Convincing evidence can be scientifically tested and proven. Evidence, such as yeti footprints, is less than convincing because they are rarely accurate. Gates himself commented on the footprint saying, “And in fact, the prints do not prove the existence of Yeti 100 %. The unfortunate thing about footprint castings is that they are rarely conclusive.”(par.#8) Not only does this statement discredit the witness, it also shows the weakness of the argument. In this instance the footprints were found in mud. But as an example of a footprint’s credibility, scientists have proven that footprints in snow expand and lose their true form as the snow melts. The same theory can be applied to prints in mud, scientists explain, as other elements react similarly after time and exposure. A mere footprint isn’t going to help prove its existence.

Evidences such as the creature’s palaeontological record is a far more convincing claim. By proving that apes, such as the Gigantopithecus, in the past actually existed and match the description of the Yeti today, is a more solid approach to the situation. The Gigantopithecus, according to Jane Christmas of McMaster University[m4] , is an extinct genus of ape that existed from roughly one million years to as recently as 300 thousand years ago, in what is now China, India, and Vietnam, placing Gigantopithecus in the same time frame and geographical location as several hominid species. The fossil record suggests that the Gigantopithecus blacki species were the largest apes that ever lived, standing up to 10 ft (3 m) and weighing up to 1,200 pounds (545 kg).(par.#1-2) Descriptions of the Yeti today are almost identical to the characteristics of the Gigantopithecus millions of years ago. The claimed height of the Yeti is recorded to be around 8-9 feet tall, with a weight of around 1,150 pounds. Prof. Igor Kozlov, a renowned scientist of the Geographical Society of former Soviet Union, “firmly believes that the snowman reported from the Caucasus Mountains between Baltic and Caspian Sea and Tyan Shan Mountains on Russian-Chinese Border does exist.” (par.#2) according to a comment he made in the article, “Yeti the Giant Cousin of Ramapithecus.” of the possibility of the Gigantopithecus being the forefather of the Yeti. After years of research and mountain expeditions Kozlov claims the hundreds of recorded encounters may be of some substance and the link between the prehistoric ape and the Yeti may indeed be true.

Along with the theories of the Gigantopithecus Blacki and origin of the Yeti, Rossella Lorenzi, scientific news editor for the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, states in media article #248 that actual DNA evidence from a skin sample and hair follicle have been discovered. The discovery belonged to a group of British scientists, who were in hunt for the mystical creature. After careful analysis of the specimens, Bryan Sykes, professor of human genetics at the Institute of Molecular Medicine in Oxford, explained, “It’s not a human, it’s not a bear, nor anything else that we’ve so far been able to identify.”(par.#4) Could it be that the findings could indeed leads us to the discovery of a new species? In the past there was speculation that the Himalayan red bear mistaken for the Yeti but the hair follicle found doesn’t match that of the bear. Editor Lorenzi emphasized this point by saying, “In the past, traces of hair and footprints believed to be from the yeti were in fact from bears, langur monkeys, himalayan goats and pigs. But the British finding raise the possibility that the sample belongs to an unknown species.” Sykes too, in reaction to the news stated, “We have never encountered any DNA that we couldn’t recognize before. It’s a mystery and I never thought this would end in a mystery. We have never encountered DNA that we couldn’t recognize before.”(par.#7)

Lorenzi’s article is astounding because it opens the door to a whole new direction in the quest for the truth about the Yeti. What researchers have been missing up until now is tangible evidence that can be scientifically proven. DNA evidence is the most concrete evidence ever to be discovered on the Yeti’s existence. Not only did it prove that there is a chance that the creature may in fact be real, but that past presumptions that the Yeti was actually the Himalayan Red Bear are false and now removed from the picture.

In June of 2000, after an interview with Reinhold Messner, famous yeti hunter and mountain climbing legend, conjectures began to circle around that the Himalayan Red Bear is, in actuality, the legendary Yeti. In efforts to convince the world that the Yeti is nonexistent, Messner, in his interview, left out many key factors, such as the fact that his stories were based on speculation, that disprove his assumptions. Messner was interviewed by National Geographic news editors about his numerous, notorious climbs up Mt. Everest without the aid of supplemental oxygen. As frequently as he climbed the mountain, he searched for the Yeti too. In one of Messner’s replies to a question about his encounters with the Yeti he stated, “When I saw a yeti for myself that night [in 1986], I was only looking and thinking, What’s that? But I couldn’t see colors or faces. I could only see a shadow because it was very late. When I approached the place where the yeti stood before it ran away, I found a footprint, exactly like the footprints they took photographs of in the ’50s. And I said to myself, “Strange.” They were footprints like those of a two-leg-going animal.”(par.#7-8) Okay, now this was Messner’s background story before he stated, “I went to Pakistan, and I reached a small village high up in the mountains. Again they told me that 100 or 200 years ago there was a yeti running around, and he stole this woman, and this woman was living two years with the yeti. And I said, “Don’t tell me bull. This is crazy!” I said, “This animal still exists?” They said yes, there are maybe three or four still. I said, “Where?” Then they brought me there—and what did I find? A Tibetan bear.”(par.#21-23) After reviewing just the two statements he made we can already see numerous flaws in his story.

The significance of analyzing this interview is to help us understand that evidence proving the Tibetan or Himalayan bear is the Yeti is just as absent as evidence proving the existence of the Yeti. He mentioned that when he encountered the creature it was dark and he couldn’t make out any features besides its height and stance. It seems convenient to say it was a bear, when all he saw was a towering shadow. To discredit himself further he mentioned the footprints lead him to the idea that a bear might be the culprit. As explained earlier by Gates, “Footprints are rarely conclusive.” What about the stories where people pointed to the destination of the creature and all they found was the bear? One or two stories are hardly enough evidence to prove that it is actually a bear. In short, his ‘Yeti’ encounters could quite possibly be real, due to the lack of evidence otherwise.

While recorded encounters and evidences have developed over the years about the Yeti in Nepal, hundreds of other sightings and evidences of ‘bigfoot-like’ creatures have been found in other parts of the world. In China there is the Yeren, Mongolia and Russia, the Almas, and in America’s Northwest, the famous Bigfoot. What is the significance of the global sightings of the ape-man creatures? The significance is that it adds witnesses of the creatures and limits the chances that all the evidence is just coincidence. For example, Yuan Zhenxin, a well-known paleoanthropologist from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), reported, “Between 1,000 and 2,000 of the apelike creatures roam the forests of central China, particularly the Shennongjia Nature Reserve in Hubei province.”(par.#12) Based also on evidence, such as fossilized molars of a Gigantopithecus Blacki that were discovered on China’s border near Nepal, the Chinese have concluded that there is a possibility of the Yeti’s existence. Not only ancient molars did they find as evidence, but they have their own set of footprint castings, tufts of hair and alleged sightings. In Mongolia the Almas have been reported as 5-6 foot ape-like men that were covered in a short, red coat of hair. Legend has it that they roam at night in the dense jungles of Mongolia. Almost all of the stories, whether in Mongolia, Russia, China, America, seem the same. Each witness claims that it either has red or black hair, depending on its size. And each country suggests that all of the creatures are cousins. They all claim to say they are elusive and walk on their two hind legs. If we combine all these witnesses we can begin to see that the Yeti is more than just a myth. The several million year-old species of ape could very well still be roaming the earth today.

In reflection of all that was discussed, we again need not to ask the question “Is the Yeti real?” We should be asking ourselves, “Is there a possibility that such a creature could still exist today.” Such creatures walked the earth millions of years ago, and could still be walking the earth today. The discovery of the fossil remains of the Gigantopithecus Blacki is the backbone behind the theory. If that was millions of years ago, how did the species not go extinct? Not enough scientific evidence has been found to determine the chance of their continued existence today. In recent years, there was a discovery of, as Wikipedia describes it, the coelacanths, which are related to lungfishes and tetrapods, were believed to have been extinct since the end of the Cretaceous period, until the first Latimeria specimen was found off the east coast of South Africa, off the Chalumna River in 1938. This proves that basing our theories simply on the idea that a species is extinct, is not evidence. The lack of evidence goes both ways for the existence of the Yeti. No concrete evidence has been presented in support of claims against the Yeti. Yet enough evidence proves that there is a possibility that the mystical creature could indeed exist.
