Successful thrift store shopping involves a routine. Thrift stores are designed to move inventory quickly and they are very good at it. The trick is to go often.

To establish a good routine you need to know WHERE the thrift stores near you are! Visit Goodwill, Association for Retarded Citizens, Disabled American Veterans; Salvation Army; or The Society of St. Vincent de Paul web sites to view store pages. There are other smaller thrift stores run by hospitals that can be found in your area with TheThriftShopper.com.

Why do you need to know where the store are? Because they best way to get a routine going is to be able to stop at X store one your way to the bank and Y store on your way to the post office. When in the vicinity of one, stop in for a 10-minute sweep. You may come out of the store with the motherlode. You may come out empty-handed. Make it a routine and I promise it will balance out.

Now let me mention this, you may find a favorite store among the group. That’s fine we all have favorites but don’t shop at that store exclusively. That hidden Gen can pop up anywhere, anytime that’s why you need to search many places before you find it.

Always remember it’s hit or miss in this market. You can go the your line up of stores one week and walk out with an armful of gems from each store then have a 4 dry weeks where you get an item here or there if anything. They key is sticking to it! Just when you want to give up you will find a great reason to keep going!

Many of us plan our menus around which meat, poultry, pork, or seafood item we're going to be serving for dinner. Meat purchase can take a bite out of your grocery budget. Here's some tips on what I do too save money.

Remember, trimming what you spend on meat can have a major impact on what you spend overall. First off, Don’t let high meat prices take you for a ride. I stock my freezer with boneless chicken breasts when I find them at low prices. When chicken breasts aren’t on sale, they aren’t on my list. In my area, this means buying them at $2 per pound rather than $5.49 per pound, a price difference of 63%. I’ve bought whole chicken at .99 cents a pound, and came home and cut it up myself. Even though it takes time, I save money while buying the same product. Saving is what this article is about.

Timing is the key when buying meat. Track numbers for a few weeks and pricing trends will jump out at you. Once you’re familiar with the sales cycles in your area, you’ll know when it’s time to load your cart, and your freezer. When prices inch back up, you can stroll past the butcher, knowing that your freezer is stocked with meat you bought on sale.

The days following holidays are often prime times for the best prices. On the day after Thanksgiving, as people crowd the malls for bargains or fight in the electronics-store aisles over the season’s hot toy, consider a less frenzied outing. Turkey prices that day are incredible, and there’s usually no one throwing elbows to snag those bargain birds. Again, in times like these, the freezer is your best friend, allowing you to stock up when prices drop. This way, you essentially pay the same low price for meat at all times.

So remember, the day after Thanksgiving is your time to load up while everyone else is somewhere standing in line, fighting crowds!

My top tips for avoiding debt and not ruining festive cheer.

Christmas is an expensive time of year for us all, especially when you have children. The average family spends £600 on Christmas, and even though it does come round once a year, it still seems to creep up on us all!

My top tips are:

1. Voucher saving

Companies that are protected from loss to the customer, such as Park, are a great way to budget for Christmas. I myself spend £10 per week saving with them and will have appx £400 in voucher for xmas, to give out as presents or to spend christmas shopping for gifts for friends and family.

2. Don’t let adverts suck you in

All adverts promote the perfect Christmas, glowing homes, huge trees laden with expensive baubles and decorations, the base filled with even more expensive presents. New sofas, latest gadgets all make us want to spend for our family. The truth is your children will not remember all the presents, they will remember the fun, closeness and traditions.

3. Don’t get into debt

Putting Christmas on a credit card or catalogue leaves more than a hangover come January 1st. Use cash or prepaid cards, budget, and start shopping in September. Don’t be paying for Christmas till the Christmas after.

4. Shop around

Poundshops for example stock quality wrapping paper, gift bags, decorations, biscuits etc…these will all saveon the bits and bobs that really add up

5. Space the Christmas food shop out

I buy £10 of stuff extra a week from November, chocolates, stocking fillers, biscuits, everything that you need that will keep will only add a few pounds to your bill weekly rather than a £200 shop in December!

6. Stock up in January sales

If you have the space, use it. I buy gifts that will last, wrapping paper, cards and gift tags in the January sales. The prices are really cheap as shops want to clear stock space, and you can be high quality items at a fraction of the price to save for next Christmas, plus it’s less to add to the list next Christmas!

7. Have quality time, not expensive time

My children and I have lots of fun preparing for Christmas for no money at all. Making paper chains, putting up the tree with christmas music on, making our own buns and wrapping paper, all so cheap and great fun!

8. Make your own christmas cake and mince pies – cheaper, fun and you can make extra to give as presents!

9. Have a good clearout at home…old mobiles, electronics, books, kids clothes etc can all be sold for cash or vouchers to help with Christmas, and it will give you more space for the new presents the kids get!

10. Secret santa

If you have a large group of friends, do a secret santa. That way everyone gets a gift without having to buy 10 back!

11. Look for discounts

Look in magazines, newspapers and the internet for discounts and special offers. A penny off is a penny saved!

Whatever you do this Christmas, be frugal and your money might even stretch to a treat to make the long month of January less depressing, or help stretch money further till payday!

Have a good christmas, and remember, if you have a house, your health, and your family, you are very lucky!

How to do so.

It can’t have escaped your attention that Christmas is just around the corner. If you, like millions of other people in the world, are struggling to find the money to be able to buy the things for your friends and family that you feel as though you want to, then this article might be of interest to you. There are things that you can do in order to get a little bit of extra cash at this time of year so that you can make your wallet stretch further.

Around September, you should have a good look around your house and see if there is anything that you could sell online. If you’re anything like most people in the country, you will have an awful lot of things that you just know you’re never going to use again. You should make a pile of these items in the corner of a room so that they’re not in the way, and set a weekend aside to make listings for them online. You might find that there is the odd weekend where you are able to get free listings, and it might be a good idea for you to keep your eyes open for these, as they will save you a couple of pounds if you have a fair amount of items to sell.

Make use of the time that you have online. There are a lot of websites where you can get paid for chatting, clicking on advertisements, giving your opinions or selling simple surveys. You could do this all year round, and then save the money in a separate bank account. You could easily make a couple of hundred pounds during the course of the year without really thinking about it, and this could make all the difference when you’re thinking about what you can afford at Christmas.

Buy things throughout the year. If you see things during the course of the year that you think would make a good stocking filler for a loved one, then you should pick it up. This means that it will be spreading the cost, and you won’t have to shell out a huge amount of money in one go for presents at Christmas. You should make sure that you keep a list of the things that you’re buying though, as you don’t want to end up with far too many presents for one person and then nothing for anybody else.

If you take these tips into account, you should be able to make the money stretch a little bit further this Christmas. Now all you have to worry about is having fun!

At this time of year, we’re all thinking about the things that we’re going to do for Christmas this year. In these tough economic times, it can be difficult to think about just how we’re going to afford to buy the things that we need but, luckily, this article will help you to do so.

Buy your cards/tree/lights in January. You will probably know that just after Christmas is the best time to get a bargain, but many of us don’t see the point in buying things as they will just be cluttering up the house for the whole of the year. However, if you have the space to store things then January sales is the place to get them. Certainly in card shops you will be able to buy the things that you need for next year and, if you need to buy an artificial tree, you should be able to get a good bargain.

Pick things up from October. You might find that, in certain shops, things which people buy for Christmas are slightly higher in price during the festive period as shops anticipate that they will be able to make a rather good profit on them. If you start to buy things like alcohol, sweets and biscuits during the months leading up to it then you should find that you are able to escape these price rises.

Make your own gifts. If you are a good artist or sculptor, then you might find that it would be much better for you to make things for your family and friends rather than buy them. Not only will this work out as much cheaper, but you will also find that people appreciate them a lot more because you have put more thought into them. If you have children then you should allow them to make cards and gifts, as it would keep them quiet for an afternoon and mean that you would have something to give to your family and friends as well.

Grow your own vegetables. Things such as sprouts, potatoes and carrots can be grown easily and, if you choose to do these yourself, it will mean that you don’t have to spend as much money at the festive time of the year buying these. They will probably taste better than ones that you can buy in the shops as well.

If you take all of these tips into account, then you should probably find that you will be able to save a lot of money in the run up to Christmas.

How to do so.

If you’ve got children, then you probably panic about the school holidays arriving because you simply don’t know what you’re going to do with your children in order to entertain them once the holidays arrive. Luckily, there are some simple things that you can do without spending all that much money.

Check your local libraries. Sometimes they run competitions where a child is set the challenge to read a certain number of books during the course of the holiday. On other days, they will organise visits from authors or even other events such as insect displays and talks about things which young children find interesting. The best thing is that these are usually free, meaning that you won’t actually have to spend anything in order to entertain your child.

Check your swimming pools and leisure centres. A lot of places do classes on swimming, diving and snorkling during the school holidays, which your child might be interested in. They would be able to make new friends and you would be able to chat to other parents at the same time. These are usually relatively cheap or even free, meaning that you don’t have to worry about spending too much money on the days. A headstart on things like swimming would be good if you have a young child who would be taught how to swim in school later on in their life.

Get together with your friends. If your friends also have children of the same age, then it makes sense for your children to play together. You could take it in turns to have them over at your house, and allow them to play with toys, watch television or eat biscuits and drink juice. Each of the days that you ran would be cheap (just juice and biscuits for the other children), yet your child would be entertained for the whole afternoon.

Get outdoors! There are lots of parks for children to play in, and you might find that you enjoy taking your child to one of them. They would love playing on the equipment, and you would be able to relax on a bench while they used up all of their excess energy.

HOW TO SAVE YOUR wedding throughout POWER-SHIFT :ACQUIRED inventive POWER: the amount of yank girls operating outside house is obtaining higher day by day bringing on a shift or conflict in their relationship wandith imminent signs of power-struggle between men and girls because it gets more durable to offer up on the ability you’ve got been holding on or clinging to for therefore long living along. This state of affairs during which you(women) exit and work and also the household work gets delegated to your husband(men)may naturally cause a shift or schism when a wife/you bring home a paycheck and declare/s she/you too has/have a right to a say in any family choices. On the opposite hand if a non-working girl has such aright it’s going to be owing to her husband’s love or generosity. Perspectively as a operating wife you are doing not have to be compelled to rely upon male/your husband ‘s –generosity as you’re well conscious of the style of power and do have a growing realization that giving it up wouldn’t be a simple proposition , demanding of you to terribly rigorously balance your assigned role(by folks or society) of a mother and children-raiser and homemaker with the authority and power that you simply have acquired when years of doing the duty you bought when a tough work and running your department steadily brings a”change” over you that you simply begin liking in any case that “YES, JOHN” routine. If you’re a typical carried-off sort likelihood is , you will end-up divorced or socially-miscast and neglecting your husband or children within the long-term. To avoid this dead-end , the (woman ) you’ll NEGOTIATE , as long as you continue to realize trust between the 2 of you. It may be realized by him (THE MAN) how her(THE WOMAN’’S) ”Your “ work modified (her) you creating you a distinct one who is assertive, positive of yourself, terribly determined, not weak, perceptive to changes round her …. in YOUR CONTEXT… A refined shift in family power suddenly happens , A SHIFT that’s occurring everywhere the U. S. and may be seen as a vicinity of the good changes that have return over the World(CIVILISATIONAL) by FORCES which will be international, National, Geo-political, Individual, Bio-ecological AS ENVISIONED by author Alvin Toffler in his book the ability SHIFT. within the easy husband as a bread-winner, the ability naturally resides with husband and every one choices revolve around his desires , job and luxury. In such a state of affairs he makes it more durable to you(women) by not solely refusing to share the housework , becomes sloppy and over-demanding and sees YOUR(wife’s) work as a rejection of his dominion or sovereignity instead of as facilitate to the family and healthy power-sharing. the last word resolution in any state of affairs where each of you’re employed should agreeably BE AN EQUAL SPLIT in power with the RESPONSIBILITY and DECISION-MAKING a lot of EQUAL , with “EVERYTHING created NEGOTIABLE’’ , MUTUALLY specified IN CONCENSUS , your insistence on his respecting your little bit of say in matters you previously remained silent on…. all this simply YO create YOUR WORK contrasted with a state of affairs where the wedding breaks –UP and YOU(THE WIFE) ARE/ IS LEFT ALONE ON YOUR/HER OWN to create THE ENDS MEET with none suggests that of support, or monetary POWER.

MAKE SURE you retain the communications line open . . frequently DISCUSSING with him concerning HOW you’re feeling within the gift state of affairs AND SUGGESTING A amendment IN ROLE while not DIRECTLY creating an announcement of YOUR need and want for management and your justifiable share of power…. before You consult a counsellor OR raise A PSYCHOTHERAPIST for an answer TO your downside.

Although low prices make some items look promising, sometimes it's best not to buy them.

In these tough economic times, everyone has their mind on one thing: saving more, and spending less. That includes on necessities like cell phone chargers. In a technology based lifestyle, a cell phone can be the most important item in your purse or pocket. The second most important? The charger that replenishes its ever-low battery power.

The two most popular cell phone chargers are the basic wall or “travel” charger, and the on-the-go car lighter charger. Both of these can be bought on the famous online shopping site, Amazon.com.

Yes, you can go to your local wireless carrier and drop $20+ on either of the two and have it with you immediately, should something happen to the one you already have (the cord for my HTC Incredible charger has wires coming out of it). Or you can head over to Amazon and try to find a deal, like I did.

I found two potential items. One was the actual charger that goes to my phone, and it was $2.35. Very reasonable. The second item was an LG brand charger. Not made for my phone, but it fits it and charges it as well. The cost of this item: $0.01. Without any further thought, I placed item number two into my shopping cart.

I recieved the charger within a few days. I threw my old one with the ripped wires into my purse, for now it would be used for “travel” charger purposes only. I plugged in the new charger and hooked my phone in and it immediately started charging.

So my new charger and I lived happily ever after, right? WRONG. While my phone was charging on its new-found friend, I recieved a text message. After numerous attempts of trying to “slide down to unlock” as my phone directed, the touch screen would not respond. I unplugged it from the charger and received confirmation to what I had instantly thought: the charger had frozen my phone. Upon being unplugged, the phone worked as usual, but as soon as it was plugged back in-instant iceburg screen. To simply unlock or do anything on the phone, it had to be unplugged from the defective charger until I was done. No bueno.

I also purchased a car lighter charger from Amazon for $2.02. This charger works perfectly! No freezing, no torn wires, nothing. It makes me regret going out of my way to save $2.34 on the wall charger.

And the moral of the story is: don’t buy cheap chargers from Amazon! A frozen phone is definitely not worth saving $2.34.

The economy has not bounced back all the way yet. Here are a few quick and simple tricks that will help you save a few bucks here and there. You may not save a dollar all at once but a dime here a few quarters there and a penny or two will get you there.

While doing theses examples you have to remember you may not see the change right away. Do them for a minimum 30 days plus to see the difference in your pocket and your billing cycle.

Car-Locate the gas station with the cheapest gas. Do it yourself maintenance. You can change the oil and fill the fluids yourself for about $50 cheaper than most oil and lube places. Carpool to work with a friend that you work with you. Leave out to work a little bit earlier you just might beat the rush hour traffic that you sit in.

Shopping- Write a list of the items that you need before you go grocery shopping. Buy generic brands they about 50% cheaper than name brand. Use coupons when they are available. Just because you don’t see a coupon doesn’t mean that there is not one out there.

Food – Cook meals in bulk. Casseroles, pasta dishes, spaghetti’s soups and salads can all be made in large quantities. Master the art of not eating out. Have a potluck with friends and/or family. Substitute your soda, beer and juices for water.

Cell phones – If you have more than one cell phone in the house, combine your plans and get a family plan and share minutes. Reduce your cell phone plan if at the end of the month you have excess minutes. And if you are not much of a talker, Pay as You Go will fit your cell phone needs just fine.

Memberships – cancel unwanted or unused memberships that cost you every month. Gym memberships that are not being use can be cancelled. You can run in your neighborhood or at the local high school track.

These are just few tips and tricks that I use to save here and there. Leave some comments on how you save and let’s save together.

Saving has become a lifestyle for folks who believed in its electrical power. These men and women know that they have to save a higher price so as to create a established potential.

However, as time passes by, more plus much more people still find it hard to avoid wasting money. They say that saving isn’t longer a lifestyle but an answer that they have to strictly comply with just for you to salt out some cost.

Some men and women even insist that it must be no longer practical for a person to avoid wasting more income because many are by now living pay to pay. With the many high-prices involving commodities currently, saving a higher price is don’t workable.

But and ofcourse that men and women can in fact save additional.

How? This is the list involving some modern strategies allows you to save a higher price:

1. Save a number of percentage from a salary

Most money-savers routinely take at the least 30% off their salary along with save them inside their savings bill. The standard concept this is that many people spend no matter what amount we’ve got on each of our paycheck, and maybe even additional. If you possibly can limit that will amount, your current expenses will certainly unexplainably find smaller.

only two. Pay anything in income

Credit playing cards had always been a lifestyle for nearly all consumers. The catch is that that they become so at ease with it that they can tend to shell out everything in credit. The truth is, statistics show that this average family comes with a average spectacular balance on the credit playing cards amounting for you to $7, 000. And they also even shell out almost $1, 000 in on a yearly basis just for the interest expenses alone.

For this reason, because on this comfortable searching, they forget about to monitor their charges and gather more payables when compared with what they might afford to spend.

3. Collection goals

Create goals that you just really want but not be fickle-minded over it. If there’s a percentage involved, be specific while using amount, like expressing “I will save $5, 000 in a very year but not around $5, 000. ”

Try and set your current goals determined by your points. Have an occasion for every single goal.

several. Check your current company’s retirement living plan

With your current employer plan for example the 401(okay) as well as the 403(n), you can save a higher price money. Here, your firm will deduct a percentage of your current salary via each pay and invest just how much in selecting instruments—mainly good funds.

In essence that saving is not only just a lifestyle or an answer. It’s the supreme gratification that you receive as a new fruit of your respective labor.
