He killed for the first time at the age of 18 when he claimed the life of hitchhiker Steven Hicks. He invited Hicks over for some drinks with the intention of having sex with him. Steven Hicks was prepared to go but Jeffrey Dahmer wasn’t ready for him to leave. He killed the man with a 10 pound dumbbell to the back of the head. 

It took nine years before he would claim another life. He began hanging out at gay bars and meeting men. He would lace their drinks with drugs, rendering them unconscious. Afterwards he would kill them and/or have sex with their body. Afterwards he dismembered them and put several of their body parts away as souvenirs. Such body parts include hands, genitals, and skulls. 

It all came to an end when one of his victims got free after attacking Jeffrey Dahmer and fleeing. He came back with police officers who found human remains, photos of dismembered bodies, and bodies stored in acid-filled vats. He was found guilty of 15 murder charges and received 15 life sentences. He would die alongside fellow inmate Jesse Anderson in Columbia Correctional Facility at the hands of convicted murderer Christopher Scarver. In my poem The Darkroom I wanted to cover a number of issues. Firstly I wanted to show the horror of torture. I wanted to show the unpleasant conditions in which the killer lives. The tattered curtains ‘as if anticipating dawn.’ They are waiting for the light but they are also waiting for a woman called Dawn.

The ‘half chewed ear and butcher’s bone’ are sinister because we do not know whether they are human remains or snacks bought for the dog. ‘Butcher’ could refer to the killer and the victim’s ‘bone’.

In the foul surroundings there is some comfort to be found. For example the ‘Christmas tree’ and ‘candy sticks’. These are commonplace objects of a happy Christmas in contrast with the substance abuse, domestic violence and possible child abuse. Such events are often worst around Christmas due to family get togethers and much alcohol consumption.

The child is smiling in the photograph but his smile ‘could have been a toy’. The reader is left wondering whether his smile is genuine or fake for the photograph. There is also an indication that he has been used as a toy.

The voice of the narrator is that of a police detective, who later questions the neighbour. The neighbour then paints a normal picture of the killer. He is a decorator, he has a son and a cat and his name is Pat. Pat and cat are a deliberately simple rhyme, reminiscent of ‘Postman Pat and his black and white cat’ – a kids TV series. Now you wouldn’t be afraid of him would you?

The word Postman to an adult can have a deeper meaning to an adult than it can to a child in the same way that a man like Pat in the poem can be seen in a totally different way to a police investigator than a blinkered village woman.

Who can you trust?

The neighbour’s Nan is regarded as a reliable assessor of trustworthiness, which is ironic. Pat is described as ‘a lady’s man.’ One assumes then that he is very charming. Jan trusted him to do her patio for her and we are left to wonder what he put under it. What I am saying here is that even the most switched on of women can fall prey to such con artists and criminals.

They say that Ted Bundy was a very nice man and women sent him their knickers when he was in jail. I suppose I was trying to explore what it is about serial killers, or indeed anybody a bit dodgy that attracts females. It cannot be just naivety, but a willingness to disbelieve that somebody is dangerous (in spite of concrete evidence to prove it).

The neighbour refuses to believe that pat has a gun etc. and by the last stanza is already thinking up an excuse to see him. For the gossip? for the excitement ? for the ‘danger-danger’? I will leave it to you to decide.

Like many of his compatriots, he is afraid of the thugs of Joseph Kony – leader of the Ugandan rebel Lord’s Army Resistance Army (LRA). The “holy warriors” terrorize the country for decades. They murder, plunder, rape and collect guys like Jacob as a child soldier. Almost 70,000, it will be yet.

Joseph Kony is not the only African butcher of self-styled grace, but certainly the best known. There are several international arrest warrants in 2004 against him, yet he can pursue his murderous campaign undisturbed in the name of the Ten Commandments. Doubts about the methods of “Invisible Children”

A doubt honorer claim pursued by the organization. But as soon excited the film worldwide fame, criticism is loud. But Kony has long disappeared from public view, no one knows where he is – because it is very likely that the hunt for the perfect, but submerged villain is a welcome distraction from the other problems of the country and especially its leadership, the for years (thanks to the support of the U.S.) imperiously ruled and persecuted every form of opposition.

“Unpleasant echo of white colonialism”

Despite all the criticism about “Kony 2012″ The play shows at least that the social networks can definitely use it to get too uncomfortable issues onto Tableau. Mujianto killed his victims by rat poison and then took their property. He confessed he killed 15 men by rat poison. But, so far, police just found 4 dead victims and 2 survived victims. Three dead victims were discovered on January ago, and the fourth was found early February. The serial murders were opened after 2 survived victims reported this case to police.

Police captured Mujianto in house of Mr. J in Sonopatik village, Nganjuk. Mr. J is Mujianto’s employer and also his gay partner.

Investigation result, so far, shows that motive of killing is jealousy.  Suspect knew that Mr. J, his gay partner, had turned to other men. So he decided to erase his competitors. Mujianto then opened cellular of Mr. J secretly. He found the victim’s names and their phone numbers. Then he contacted his victims separately and told that Mr. J wanted to meet somewhere else.  Then the suspect met his victims one by one. The suspect offered them drinks or foods filled with rat poison. The suspect then left his victims while they dying.

From investigation, police also found other fact. The suspect confessed that he has planned to kill much more men. The men who are assumed as his competitors. Police will do psychological study for the suspect.

Police is still continuing to investigate the case. The number of victims probable increased. Police is also searching the other victims. That’s why police suggest to everyone that losing their family member to report it.

It has been strongly authenticated that there is a marked constituent of sexual brutality often associated with the childhood of a serial killer.  Their deceitful conduct as adults is often times related to events from their past whether it be sexual, physical, emotional, or a combination of all three.  These forms of abuse ultimately mark where fantasy begins to surpass reality and some really alarming activities begin to surface.  Many become captivated with arson and/or there is the development of the cruel torture of animals to name a few.  It is worthy to note as well that there are many people who endure tragic childhoods, but yet do not become murderers.  Something in the mind of the serial killer gets triggered to an on position that cannot be stopped. 

As adults after traits of psychopathy and sociopathy have already set in, the serial killer will take on such acts as becoming engrossed with inner organs of the body, exclusively the sexual parts with an instance of this nature being necrophilia.  As psychopaths, they will lack any compassion or sympathy for their victims.  As sociopaths, their perception of what is considered correct and unethical has been corrupted. 

Most of the famous serial killers in America have been white males approximately around the age of thirty.  Ted Bundy is a notorious psychopath that comes to mind.  He lured women into his car and would do unspeakable acts with the bodies following their demise.  Sexual predator, John Wayne Gacy, and his psychopathic tendencies became the center of attention amongst researchers after he was imprisoned for raping and killing several young males. 

There has been some progression and conjecture as to why a select group of individuals will become serial killers.  Some theorists have considered that they are biologically born as killers with anomalous activity being experienced in the brain.  The mind of the serial killer continues to be studied and more superior gains of knowledge are expected to evolve in the future.
