Whetstone was serving his third prison sentence for robbery when he died at the age of 64 at the Pacific Regional Treatment Centre in Abbotsford, B.C. Canada.

According to authorities, the convicted sex offender was suffering from a lengthy illness and died of natural causes.

Whetstone remained one of Canada’s most prolific criminals until his death.

The thing that bothers me most about this is that these men get let out of prison only to commit these acts again.  Does the state honestly think that they will have learned their lesson after spending 10 years in jail? If anything it has made them more angry and more apt to going out and doing it again. 

Because of my past I have never let my kids out of my sight.  They know not to stray and that there are bad people that would try to hurt them.  It is sad that we can’t let our kids play outside without worrying about who may be lurking by. 

Keep your children safe by keeping them close.  Let them know what’s out there, not to scare them but to protect them!

                     Texas Sex Offender Fakes His Own Death After Brutal Murder

The Texas sex offender who goes by the name Michael Gilbert tried to fake his own death for the second time after he allegedly killed a person.

In 2002, Michael Gilbert tried for the first time to fake his own death when he supposedly jumped off a bridge in Mississippi. He was caught of course.

But this time around in the course of faking his own death the sex offender employed a more brutal and inhumane plot.

What Michael Gilbert did this time around was, when he found out that the police were onto him for another sex crime he had committed, the sex offender captured a homeless man and shot him in the head, killing him instantly. He then took his car and placed the man in the trunk whereupon he set fire to the car.

Michael Gilbert’s hope was to use the homeless man as the bait so that police would think that he was actually the one that had died.

But police were clever than that and DNA tests showed that it was not Michael Gilbert who was dead in the car. This prove was instantly followed up by an arrest warrant issued for Gilbert.

Gilbert was finally arrested in an apartment complex in Forth Worth by the police. He turned himself in after a seven hour standoff with the Forth Worth police department.
