For ten years the US has waged war in Afghanistan and Iraq to no avail. It has attempted to build nations and export what it calls "democracy", but at home those values are not prevalent. Corporatism has acquired the reins of power, and the average person has little or no decision-making power. It is clear that voting has little value, given Florida in 2000, Obama and his "change that you can believe in", and the Electoral College, among other. There has to be a critical and major re-examination of what is at home before thinking about what the US should be doing overseas.
