With the ever rising prices for conventional heat energy is also growing interest in devices that will collide this segment priced as low as possible.

The ideal way is of course well known and very often a popular heat pumps using the latest technology for efficiency and quick return on your cost of finance.

Not only heat pumps but they can take care of reducing your household costs for heating up the whole house. They are also popular such as photovoltaic power, which because of certain subsidies have bought an unprecedented number of people. It is very nice when you can use solar energy for their own use. This method of pumping energy is entirely free. Photovoltaics you can save hundreds of dollars a year. Installing the necessary panels to the roof and rozvedením appropriate equipment around the house, of course, do not bother. Specialized companies with a long tradition of you in this case are very pleased care.

Full service is certainly provided for heat pumps. There is nothing easier than to learn how to skillfully and efficiently use natural energy sources that are around us. Not only do you get nearly free energy, but also when a small but perceptible way we protect the environment. Do not fear the tasteless appearance, which may arise in the case of solar power. Modern and timeless photovoltaics will certainly impressive designovýn element of your house or roof.

Bet on building a photovoltaic power plant on the proven quality, free service and also to use only the most advanced and reliable technologies. Incurred to finance is very soon.

This article explains about the advantages of solar power over nuclear power and challenges of financing the construction of nuclear power plants.

The solar power is renewable energy source, has no volatile solid waste and is readily available duo to which the costs of solar photovoltaic systems have declined to the point where they are lower than the rising projected costs of new nuclear plants. Though the nuclear power plants do not emit the greenhouse gases and provide 20% of electricity, much of debate has surrounded over the solid waste disposal and financial challenges of financing the power plants. The high financial insecurity, insufficient loans and lack of subsidies are the greatest obstacles for the detractor of nuclear power plants. According to the critic of nuclear power plant, Mr. Cooper the people has to bear the risks and costs whereas the nuclear utilities take the profits during construction of power plants. Without loan guarantees and guaranteed construction work in progress, these reactors will simply not be built, because the capital markets will not finance them. The nuclear subsidies programs ensure the increase in government insurance against the regulatory delays, access to private activity bonds and a $36 billion increase in loan guarantees. However, these subsidies would increase the taxes and interest rates for loan takers, Moreover, the nuclear waste are highly toxic which can be used to make nuclear bombs. The nuclear bombs create national and international conflicts and create more problems than solving them. Though nuclear power is more effective, the solar power is preferable in long term basis due its economic and environmental credibility. Thus, nuclear power is ineffective way to solve the global problem of energy crisis due to its environmental and economic hazards.

Image via Wikipedia

The nuclear power generates a high amount of electrical energy in one single plant. However, the problem of radioactive waste produced is still an unsolved one because these wastes from nuclear energy can be used to make nuclear weapons due to which Nuclear power plants could be preferred targets for terrorist attacks. Though nuclear power can solve the problem of energy crisis, it will result in global socio-economic and political conflicts. Moreover, the investment to nuclear power plant is risky due to its uncertain results and also it increases taxes which can lead to economic conflict. So, solar power system is more effective way in a sense that solar power is renewable, cheap and can solve the problem of energy crisis without causing any socio-political conflicts. Thus, use of nuclear power should be diminished and use of solar power should be promoted.

Providing The Best For The Future.

The greenhouse effect has affected the climate on earth. This is due to many influencing fator. One of these is deforestation in developing countries, and a very high level of pollution in developed countries.
In tropical countries, especially in my country Indonesia, climate change began to be felt in several years previous to the present. Here almost every year have rain, but usually occurs at the beginning of the rainy season months of October through March. And the highest rainfall occurs in December and January. But for the past few years over the past 12 months continues to occur although not as high rainfall in December and January, but it proves that the greenhouse effect has been felt.
And hardly any dry season. That’s why our country frequently floods and landslides.

Some countries already anticipate the effects of this greenhouse, for it began to develop some alternative energy, like Solar. Solar widely used particularly for generating electricity, because for now-fired power plant in our country still uses petroleum as a raw material to produce electrical energy. Yet diminishing petroleum reserves, for a few years later if you continue to use petroleum as a raw material producer will be able to generate electric energy crisis. Many countries are already predicting it. For that Solar has begun to be developed to resolve the issue. Although many of the constraints faced especially cost and technical experts but it must be done to overcome energy crisis in the future.

I’ve sent emails to several local leaders, especially where I live in Semarang, Central Java. To take advantage of government buildings are often exposed to sunlight to install equipment that can accommodate solar energy into electricity. This is because I am very concerned with the environment or the earth where I live and I also realize that our country is so rich in sunshine, then why do we not utilize that energy. Energy sources will never run out of basic. And I imagine how much oil can we save if we take better advantage of this energy to generate electricity. And we also can provide a better future for our children and grandchildren. If we can do this in the future I’m sure there will be no greenhouse effect on our beloved earth.

The Solar Light Project Part A

By Joseph Parish

A recent evening of conversation over a few cups of coffee with several like minded survivalists prompt me to attempt to devise an economical solar charging system. My goals in this project are to decrease my current electric bill by employing an alternative means of providing necessary lighting for my home.

When I originally began thinking about this project I considered one of two sources as a means of generating this required electricity. One source was by use of wind while the other was with solar cells. Wind power was desirable for the fact that it would provide charging ability even in the dark of even. However, due to the lack of an abundance of wind in our area I made my decision in favor of solar power. Perhaps in the future I will consider a wind generator for supplemental winter use.

After making up my mind to build a solar powered generator system I laid out the basic framework for a small system along with a rough process for achieving my desired end results. I figured a cost of about approximately $300 to $350 for a small functioning unit. When I say a small system I am not kidding you. If the proposed 20 watt solar panel were to receive 5 good hours of sun per day it would generate 100 watt-hours of electrical energy. Now, suppose you are using a 12 Watt CFL light bulb. That would provide you with the capacity of 8 hours of light. The brighter 25 watt units would last you for 4 hours only. Since we use batteries to store the solar energy we would be effectively storing about 400 watts at a time.

Solar panels can be picked up at just about bargain prices these days. A 12 volt solar panel can be had for approximately $150 to $175 dollars. Along with the panel you will need a charge controller. An effective one would be the SunGuard 4 ampere unit. These are readily available around the Internet at a low cost of $25 dollars or less.

Let’s take a few minutes to talk about batteries. A 32 amp-hour battery similar to those found in our automobile could run $60 or so, however, if you are trying to build an efficient system you may wish to consider the higher quality deep cycle batteries. Although they may initially cost you upwards of $250 dollars each they will long outlast the usual car battery.

Your next item of interest will be a DC to AC power inverter. A simple one with a capacity of 175W would be sufficient. You will likely spend about $30 dollars for this type of inverter. If you are considering DC lighting only you may not even want to include this in your list of parts.

Don’t forget an inexpensive voltage meter so that you can monitor the load that is being placed on the solar generator. This is not an absolute essential however, it is highly recommended.

You have finally assembled all the parts that you will need to build the unit and it now becomes necessary to consider where you will place them. I would suggest a small dog house type structure or a shed where you can store the batteries and monitor their activities. Batteries will require weekly maintenance at any rate and it’s always nice to have everything arranged neatly in its own place. Naturally the panels will be mounted on the roof of your home.

Use the wiring diagrams that is supplied with your solar panel for the manufacturer knows best in this regards. Make certain that your solar panel is wired accordingly to match the nominal voltage rating of the solar charge controller as well as your batteries. Don’t try to save a few dollars by eliminating the charge controller. This unit automatically prevents overcharging of the battery and acts as a safety device. When connecting your system together make certain you observe the proper polarities at all times. You will destroy the controller if it is hooked up incorrectly.

After laying out these plans for a homemade system, I chanced upon a kit that is slightly more powerful and costs approximately the same amount. The kit does not include batteries however. The kit of which I speak is the Sunforce 50044. This is a 60-Watt kit that has everything already included for you. The kit is designed for use in cabins or homes as a backup power source. When assembly is completed the unit can withstand winds of up to 50 miles per hour. Included in the kit are four of the company’s 15 watt panels complete with a mounting frame, a 200 watt inverter, the 7 Amp charge controller and all the associated writing and installation hardware.

Incidentally it doesn’t matter which you use, whether you create your own from scratch or purchase the kit both are well capable of operating a laptop or one of many small appliances and not just light bulbs.

Since this will be an ongoing experimental project I plan to initially start out with recording my daily electrical consumption for light bulbs. I will track what wattage is being used and when they are turned on and off. This will give me a usage figure. In many cases the wattage of bulb being used is usually too large and results in a waste of energy. I will follow up with another ongoing report next month.

Alternative energy is more accessible and increasingly it is a more cost effective choice than remaining on the grid. More people are finding greater independence through solar power, wind power and other alternatives.

If you’ve been reading the news recently, or seen some of the articles online at the major news websites, you’re probably aware that in 2011, energy bills are set to rise again, in the UK it could be as high as 35%… 62% in Australia and many places in the U.S. are going to get hit too, with rises predicted throughout the year.

And it would be wise to assume that they are not going to fall back down in 2012 either, especially with Smart Grid technology making an appearance.

This is why people are thinking of their future in terms of alternative energy genertion. Even if you are not an eco-warrior out to save the planet, you can still save your wallet from a serious pounding by switching to an alternative energy source like solar or wind power.

Image via Wikipedia

It’s not like it was 20 years ago, solar power is accessible for the everyday household and in recent times, people have discovered ways to create their own solar power systems which are considerably cheaper to assemble and install. Plans are available that show you exactly how to build solar and wind devices and implement these systems in your own home.

Image via Wikipedia

Increasingly, builders and contractors are offering green building options including solar, wind and other alternative energy sources.

One incentive is that it is cleaner for humans, animals and the environment. But, it also makes you more independent and can save you 80 to 100% on your energy bills.

It is easy to see why alternative energy is an increasingly popular choice for homeowners.

Are you making use of solar renewable energy? Do you know how to make use of solar renewable energy? Do you know there are many ways of making use of solar renewable energy?

Are you making use of solar renewable energy? Do you know how to make use of solar renewable energy? Do you know there are many ways of making use of solar renewable energy?

The three ways of making use of solar renewable energy are the passive, active and harassing methods.

The passive approach of using solar renewable energy is seen in many different new buildings.

The buildings are designed to let the sunshine into the building. You will notice that many newer buildings use glass rooftop and glass panels to let the sunlight in.

That is to provide light and heat into the building. That is a passive way of using solar renewable energy. While the sunlight does not convert to usable source of energy, the fact that you are making use of natural light means you need not switch on the light during the day.

The active approach of using solar renewable energy is to use the heat of the solar energy. Many people use the heat to power the water for shower.

That is an active approach to the usage of solar renewable energy. You can also use the heat to dry the wet laundry.

The third method of using solar renewable energy is the one that generates a lot of media attention. Scientists are working hard to improve the conversion rate of the solar renewable energy into electricity. You can see many applications of using solar renewable energy into electricity around the world. The solar panels is one of the best ways to generate electricity from solar renewable energy.

You can also buy the solar powered torchlight, garden lamp, backpacks with foldable solar panel for powering up your cell phone and laptop.

The challenge facing the commercial use of solar renewable energy is the cost. The solar panels are costly, and the conversion rate is not very good yet.

Even if the scientists can improve the conversion rate, they need to find a way to make the solar panels cheaper.

There is no point paying a few thousand dollars for a solar panel, since the breakeven is more than ten years. If the solar panels to power a whole house cost just a few hundred dollars, the breakeven is probably a year or two. That will entice more people to buy the solar panels and set them on the rooftop.

Solar renewable energy is still an alternative energy source. A day will come when solar renewable energy is the main energy source.

A look at the irony involved in this disaster occuring on the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and showing how little has changed.

British Petroleum’s disaster in the Gulf of Mexico resulting in the spilling of tens of thousands of gallons of crude oilspilling of tens of thousands of gallons of crude oil took place on the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. This is especially galling when a look at the history of Earth Day tells us that it was founded in reaction to a large oil spill off the coast of California at the time. That was back in the days when rivers and lakes occasionally caught fire and a dramatic commercial on TV showed an American Indian crying because of all the pollution. I wonder how he would have reacted to seeing the genocide of his people a century before?

The irony of the timing is compounded by the recent calls from public figures in the last election to “drill baby drill” to solve the problem of America’s dependence on foreign oil. The fact that it would take numerous years to see the results of that drilling and that the gains would be offset by increasing demand never seemed to make a dent in the calls for drilling. The appeals to more production solving America’s needs were cynical and intended solely to get votes – oh and to please industry also.

George Will on a Sunday morning show stated that more birds would be killed by wind turbines in a year than by the oil spill. In 2002 a single bird was documented to have been killed by wind power. In the same period, cats killed a thousand birds. It would seem that the excuses for the oil industry have started before we even know how big the disaster is, and still facts are not getting in the way of the industry boosters.

Earth Day and the ecology movement were formed to fight the worst excesses of industry. At the time our environment was seriously degraded, and getting worse all the time. The efforts of the environmentalists got a number of laws passed – doing away with the use of DDT (at least domestically), cleaning up waterways, cutting back on air pollution, etc., b

Image by The Library of Congress via Flickr

ut now we seem to have taken a giant step backwards. Industry is again trashing our natural environment and the refrain always seems to be “jobs or ecology but not both.”

Proposals for a greening of America through the use of more sustainable energy, farming techniques, preservation of waterways, and reducing air pollution have been bouncing around for a while now. We do have enough technology to at least begin to move away from fossil fuels – if Tesla can make electric cars then why cant Ford? Manufacturing, installing and maintaining wind, and solar power would produce a lot of jobs, especially if we require American suppliers for all major parts. Perhaps this disaster can be redeemed somewhat if we use it as a clarion call to change our ways. Right now New Orleans smells like a giant gas station, according to people there. Lets hope we can change before the rest of America smells that way.

Online petitions, Facebook applications and green photo contests will eventually breed a new form of democracy that holds our political leaders accountable every Friday night. Look closely, the germs of "social technocracy" have already appeared on the internet.

Forget democracy, bring on technocracy.

Some of us citizens, researchers and environmental activists believe that with the steady growth of petition software, and the rise of online communities and interactive ‘green’ photo contests, our collective actions online will save our planet, and our species.

Something’s gotta give. Planet Earth has run out of crude oil, and we have no replacement for such cheap and easy fuel. The polar ice caps are melting, and the rising water levels will displace 1/6th of all available land in the next ten years, and these coastline areas just happen to be where a full third of the earth’s population actually lives. And of course the rising carbon dioxide levels will create a greenhouse effect on the planet with all kinds of additional ill effects.

The governments of the world are too slow and have been made too corrupt by the interests of capitalism to make the necessary changes.

Through the rise of technocracy we can hold our politicians more accountable, and eventually they will be simply be the instruments of the people, and have no real authority what-so-ever. The people will lead, and the leaders will follow.

What we need is a revolution, and a socioeconomic upheaval that breeds an ideological shift towards technocracy. Yes we will put a puppet in the White House; our #1 servant is the President. He will finally do EXACTLY as we say… He will do our bidding immediately after we come together to make policy in free and easy to use web citizen applications. Your vote is tied to your tax return, and you have to participate, or you’ll pay more taxes.

Already Canadians are using the internet to stand up for themselves and protect their rights and freedoms. There were many Facebook groups protesting and petitioning members of parliament and many websites appeared too, the most notable being NoPorogue.ca which accrued thousands of signatures.

The number one independent petition site, GoPetition.com has had over one hundred users create political agendas in the first three months of 2010.

And the revolution appears on Twitter too of course, Jim Gilliam launched act.ly in June 2009, the rather clever Twitter petition gizmo that, with a few clicks, creates a pivot point for tweet-based social action.

How Can Green Photo Contests Change anything?

In the new millennium, the world is getting a little warmer, and a little smaller each year. For activists raising awareness on the web today, the benefits of hosting online user-generated photo contests are clear. These competitions create a positive association with green ideas by offering users tangible rewards for participation. The systems actively involve consumers in the campaign, and can easily create conduits directly to new thoughts, green services, and planet saving tactics. And on top of everything else, they are naturally structured to encourage participants to virally spread green messages.

The How Green Are You? photo challenge hopes to collect one sentence stories and snapshots of eco friendly notions. Sponsored by a solar powered grass cutting company in Toronto, this photo contests offers a battery powered lawnmower as prize.

Fire and Ice photo challenge on Lenzr comes courtesy of a Geothermal Installer

The Fire and Ice photo contest comes complete with a hole lot of information about ground heating and the extraction of low grade energy from the Earth’s core.

The sponsor is a geothermal installer who personally designs and builds commercial and residential home heating systems. The firm specializes in new age boilers and floor heating systems.

The Prize is Geo Air PCO air purifier

Photo Catalytic Oxidation (PCO) is perhaps the most advanced air purifying technology available today. Prize valued at over $700.

Photo Contests build Community Around Issues

Depending on the theme of your contest, this interactive conversation can be focused on the issues and carry instructions on how to take action beyond simply participating in the challenge.

These websites, petitions and social net applications are the first drops in a deluge of change that will spread itself across mankind in the next decade. Beware of government attempts to control the internet. Your freedom, and the freedom of your children depends on an environmental revolution away from all fossil fuels, and a free and easy access to technocracy – so we can make politicians do what we want, and not what they want.

Solar Power

This is not exactly an “issue” but is a good thing. It is good because instead of having to pay a monthly bill for electricity, you can just buy some panels and get your own electricity with the sun. I think that more people should revert to solar panels so that we don’t need to use fuels to power our houses, we can just use the sun.

The way that the solar power works is when the sun’s rays hit the silicone panels (silicone is what most of the solar panels have in them, because it slightly conducts electricity). Electrons are knocked off of the atoms that they are on which lets them go through the silicone to produce electricity.

The solar panels allow the rays to be converted into direct current. Then it enters the inverter which makes it into 120 volt alternating current. Following that, using that 120 volt alternating current, it goes throughout the house and powers everything that you turn on.

Save the earth with renewable homemade energy.

Global Warming! We are now experiencing severe flooding and droughts. The sea level is rising, and there are plenty of environmental changes that are like to have negative effects on society, such as decreasing economic development and health problems. Many scientists said that what we are experiencing right now is a natural phenomenon and it is part of the earth’s cycle. But nobody can prove if it is correct. What we do know right now is that the world is emitting greenhouse gases at extremely high rates and has shown a very small sign of reducing emission. Naturally, if more greenhouse gases are in the atmosphere the effect will be a significant rise of temperature of the earth. The day will come that we won’t have enough natural resources to make future developments possible. Since, the sun is the ultimate source of solar energy we should use it wisely to produce power.

It is now possible to have your own homemade energy using the abundant source of the sun. Energy from the sun is free, so just think, you will no longer have electricity bills to pay. It’s a great way to save money and at the same time help save the earth.

There are two forms of solar cells – the solar electricity panel and the solar hot water panels. These two allow you to generate power for your home. Your own homemade solar panel draws natural sunlight to generate electricity that provides energy to kitchen and home appliances to run efficiently.

It’s actually easy to make your own homemade energy. Take a moment to visit this site and see how you can save tons of money on electricity bills!
