On Our Fear of The Unknown, and Depression

I’ve found in my practice that so many of my clients are so dulled to, or even divorced from their own feelings and inner life that they actively choose to hold on to unhappiness rather than see it as the toxic aspect of their lives that is MAKING them unhappy, not even aware that they’re choosing, "The Devil we know…" from the one they don’t… and can neither move on in their lives, nor heal from emotional, spiritual, and even intellectual wounds and real damage or injury, choosing unhappiness and depression over the risks they need to take to allow the changes in their lives that they crave and pray for.
