Robert Goddard is considered the father of American Rocketry. He is admired so much that NASA has named one of it’s research facilities after him. But like many other important figures throughout American history, Goddard’s fame was posthumously received. Goddard was considered a kook while he was alive, and his rocket experiments received very little support or admiration in the United States.
