Dead?
Judgment?
Greed?

Dead?

Is it better to wake up dead or be dead to waking up? ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.

Judgment?

Do not condemn your brother or sister or come down on them for the choices they make. It is not your right to judge another based on your feelings, what is said in the scriptures and what is taught by those who choose resistance and hate. It’s OK to disagree with what choices they make and reveal the results of the choices they make but NOT to condemn them for making those choices. You have NOT walked in their shoes and experienced what they have learned. You do not feel as they do, experience what they have lived and learned what they have been taught. If you disagree with what they do because it does not contribute to the mutual growth and expansion of all concerned, then seek a way express yourself without hurting another. However, if what they are doing is hurting others, then speak the truth and identify what they are doing to all concerned. Be a light unto the world and don’t allow darkness and deception to proliferate. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.

Greed?

Only when our congresspersons serve jail time for taking money from corporations will our system begin to purge itself. Until then, greed and ego will reign supreme. Pray for them, vote them out of office and vote for genuine representatives. It’s all about control, domination and manipulation. First, corporations and lobbyists pay off our representatives, dominate their agendas and manipulate laws in their favor. When their term(s) are up, the same corporations hire them as ‘advisors’ because they have lived how the ’system’ works. Greed and selfish motivation is all they care about. They surely don’t care about their constituency with the high unemployment and ‘entitlement’ reform. Keep their corporate financial suppliers happy at all costs; which usually comes out of our pockets. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.

What is desire? Is it something that you should repress and reject? Or is it something you should embrace and manifest? Observe the way the universe works and follow its laws to arrive at a state of complete peace.

What is desire? In the Latin it literally means ‘of the Father’. It is the expression of Divine love into our individual spirits that drives us to do whatever we can to arrive at a state of complete peace. Peace is a state where we completely absorb and project Divine love. We are not in need of anything. We want for nothing. Our desires are fulfilled and our expectations are met; until our next desire surfaces and starts the cycle all over again.

Our Divine desires are never completely fulfilled until we expect them to be manifest and arrive in a state of peace where we have experienced and reflected on their manifestation. When we become who and what we were created to be we are not living by what someone else thinks we should be, but who and what we truly are.

When your actions align with your Divine purpose, manifestation of that Divine purpose is the result. There is no right way or wrong way to attain this dynamic state of creativity. The true test of whether you are on the right track or not is whether the unfolding of the desire through expectation is proceeding in Divine order and whether or not you are aligning yourself with it in Divine order.

When you trust in the Divine within you to guide you is the point where you accept, allow and experience your natural state of complete well-being. We were created to actualize our Divine purposes. Do we take the opportunities that arise everyday to move toward that state of peace where we have experienced the fruition of our Divine desires? Or do we dismiss them as unattainable or not worthy of our investment of expectation?

We are Divine co-creators and anyone who tells us otherwise is operating from a state of internal denial as to the Divine order of the universe. Through observation, collation and deriving conclusions we learn about how the perceived dualistic reality operates. Through introspection, intuitively listening and manifesting inner peace we learn about how the Creator operates according to Divine law.

By integrating all that we’ve learned we align our Divine purposes within Divine order in order to ‘arrive’ at a state of complete peace, joy and understanding, where we automatically co-create the complete manifestation and fulfillment of our Divine desires.

Be the vehicle of Divine love expressing peace into all of eternity! ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.

Let's honor the man today who led the Civil Rights Movement of the 60's. Read his words and feel his spirit. Open the channel to what the Divine is revealing to us every day. As his words echo in our spirit, always remember our collective duty to help each other.

As Mitt Romney claims that Barack Obama has put ‘free enterprise’ on trial there are voices by others that scream the truth:

Elizabeth Warren talks about our ‘social contract’ and Charles Blow emphasizes the ‘greed’ factor (http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/14/opinion/blow-bitter-politics-of-envy.html?_r=2&ref=opinion).

Liz made an interesting observation this morning. There is nothing more memorable about this day that recognizes an international man of peace as a 10% off sale at Sears and K-Mart. The marketing managers directing this revered holiday for a man who championed civil rights for ALL should be taken advantage of for a sale to boost their profits. Shows like The Bachelor, Jersey Shore Housewives of Whatever all reveal a vapid and apparent innocuous effect to our consciousness. Emphasis is put on what you can ‘get’ instead of what you can ‘give’.

Romney further claims that Barack Obama hasn’t created jobs and that he will; despite his record of cutting jobs in the quest of Bain Capital to make a profit. Do we live in a dictatorship? Since when does the President become a job creator when it is Congress who decides legal policies? Obama INHERITED the problems created by the tax cuts to the rich and corporate de-regulation created by the previous administration and Congress.

Would you jump into a lifeboat with a gaping hole in the bottom and start bailing out water as fast as you can? It takes courage, dedication and determination to help others WHILE you’re helping yourself. Yet, as we celebrate MLK day today we need to reflect on what a true person does to help themselves AND others. Read what Martin Luther King has said (http://socyberty.com/history/i-have-a-dream%E2%80%A6/).

Dr. King, we honor and respect your leadership, drive and embodiment of the message of Christ. We know what you were up against and we will not allow the greed, avarice and selfishness to rule our lives and especially those who embody these values to rule us. Thank you for standing up peacefully to the ‘ruling’ class and letting them know our voices demanding dignity, respect and the pursuit of happiness.

Today, we honor you, your family and all who stand for fairness and equity in this world. As you rest in peace in the bosom of the Lord we carry your message to all whom we meet. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.

It seems yesterday is almost always better than today. Is that the complete truth? This article suggests it sometimes depends on the state of mind the individual.

I wonder what intelligent forces hovered around their heads. Their originality and spirituality were genuine. I always love it when I read about the persistence and the spirit behind their discoveries and inventions. Every generation laughs at the old fashions, but follows religiously the new. I listen to stories of the past generations, which are the bone of contention here, with keen interest; Ghana’s Kwaw Ansah’s Good Old Days stress the point, as if there were no such thing as vices, wars and woes. The truth is that there existed woes and wars, but in comparably definite proportion: since, as someone suggests, there were not enough noises to disturb all the good forces of nature, and a minimum pollution to interfere with nature’s originality. Humans ate bread prepared from cereal harvested directly from the field. The animals from which they acquired most of the protein fed from the original feed nature provided.

Humans’ thought appeared to be more focused and more detailed, comparable with computations by modern sophisticated machines. Most of their philosophies are still valid. People, like the internet marketers, seem to put keen interest or place more emphasis on the century, or two, year old source of information which provided the knowledge for whatever they have come by. Sometimes I am moved to conjecture that the forces which served as sources of their thoughts were closer around their heads. Contrary to this statement may be the reason behind decrease in human conscience; as a result of which, for example, the so-called modern civilised woman exercise her right to practice how to go naked on the street. In fact most of the things making up the status quo make many people feel great nostalgia for the status quo ante even of early this century and beyond.

One of the fascinating stories I have listened to about the primitive or uncivilised human being have been how an Ashanti man studied weaving by watching a certain breed of spider weave its cobweb. This knowledge has been the pillar behind the costly and valuable Ashanti Kente cloth.

The fact is that any good information or knowledge is never completely abandoned by the generations to come; either it can hold enough water to stand the test of time or it would provide a good basis of something important. So whatever good thing your hand finds to do do it with all your might, all your power and all your spirit, this seems to be the secret behind every good discovery, knowledge, philosophy or any valuable thing ever produced by the human mind and wisdom. Value and make good use of this simple precept and peace will never forsake you and your name.

Strange Bedfellows Or Accustomed Partners? – Female and Spirituality

I accept female is a all-powerful gift. God wouldn’t accept accustomed us the adeptness to feel amusement in our bodies unless s/he advised for us to feel this pleasure. But I feel God aswell gave us the adeptness to feel an beatitude during courting that is greater than simple concrete amusement – the beatitude of airy and concrete activity amalgamation and affair in our concrete bodies – the beatitude of absoluteness with the all-powerful at the aforementioned time we feel at one with our partner. This is absolutely one of the best means to apperceive God, and a abundant acumen to allure God into bed with us!

So how did sex become such a big accord morally, abnormally to institutionalized religion, and abnormally to Christianity and Islam? Aboriginal of all, I accept that this stems from the basis anticipation that physique and spirit are separate, and that alone spirit is divine. This has led, in its a lot of acute form, to the anticipation that the physique is dirty, and that therefore, sex have to aswell be dirty. This in about-face leads to the anticipation that, in adjustment to be spiritual, we charge to abjure ourselves sex – the aspect of the apostolic vow of celibacy.

The added acumen for sex acceptable such a moral issue, from a added abstract standpoint, is that sex is a actual close and able anatomy of life-energy, and as such, tends to accompany up issues in us that charge to be resolved. Also, close forms of activity like this (money is addition one) tend to appeal that we accumulate bright agreements about them in adjustment to break conscious. To me, this is not so abundant a moral affair as it is an affair about active carefully and carefully in every breadth of life.

I anticipate it’s interesting, as we attending at this affair of chastity and sexuality, to apprehension that sex (along with money) is generally the atrophy of fundamentalist religious abstracts such as Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart.

The airy appearance of sexuality, as against to the religious one, is a little different. This appearance posits, aboriginal of all, that sex is innocent, and that it has been accustomed to us by God both as a way artlessly to feel amusement in our bodies, and aswell a car for airy enlightenment.

Spiritual adepts in China and India accomplished bags of years ago that we are not artlessly gross concrete beings – we are absorbed with energy. This energy, basal to all life, was (and is) alleged chi in China and prana in the Hindu attitude in India. These aboriginal adepts accomplished aswell that this activity could be carefully channeled up through the assorted activity centers of the physique (chakras to the Hindus) to enhance airy acquaintance and actualize mystical states of absoluteness with the divine.

At the aforementioned time, they accomplished that animal activity was artlessly a denser, added acute anatomy of this basal life-energy, and that it too, could be channeled in such a way as to advance to loving, athrill absoluteness with the all-powerful – and one’s partner. Absolutely the best of both worlds! This, of course, gave acceleration to the abundant attitude of Taoist animal practices, and the animal elements of Tantric Yoga, in which practitioners apprentice how to carefully approach animal activity through their airy activity centers.

In nature, there is no perfect philosophy, perfect science, perfect religion, perfect knowledge, perfect human or a perfect plan. Nothing can be perfect in this man-made finite world. Everything in the universe is moving, expanding and changing. Irrespective of good and bad every movement is the cause for further development.

There is a basic difference between the static philosophy and moving philosophy, static God and moving God, static science and moving science, static tradition and moving tradition. One of the spiritual persons Basavanna once said, “There is destruction for what stands but not for that which moves”.

Whenever nature gives birth to new wonders in the world, be it in science, religion, tradition, or in something else it represents a moving character. Nevertheless, this moving character will not last for a long time because of our own static way of thinking. Whenever new research emerged in the history of humanity, it has maintained moving character in the beginning, but slowly it has lost the beauty of the moving character because of the orthodox interaction of our own finite mind. Nevertheless, the transformation of moving character to static character occurs only in human mind, not in nature.

In the western world, now there is a spiritual madness to dig out all the static philosophies of the ancient history. Some are talking on Tantra, some are talking on Yoga, some are talking on Vastu, and some are talking on mediation and so on. In fact, they are searching for the static shelter to compensate or to define their own lethargic way of life. Nevertheless, our ancient Sages, Buddha, Krishna, Jesus, Rama, Prophet and other prominent spiritual personalities emerged with moving philosophy; not with a static one, but who made it static? Ask yourself! Which philosophy, science, religion, culture, god and tradition you are representing? Is it a static one or a moving one? Vivekananda says, “Faith is not a belief; it is the grasp of the ultimate as illumination”.

When we realize that nothing can be perfect, we will be completely integrated with nature. For example, during the Tsunami attack in South East Asia on December 26, 2004, the wild animals had already moved to safer zones of habitat. They instinctively sensed danger. The question is how did they decode the signs of the impending danger sent by nature, when the entire scientific world failed to warn about the imminent threat of Tsunami? The reason is simple. We, unlike the animals, have disconnected ourselves from nature and travelled far in to the world of materialistic pleasure. We have long lost the power to decode the sensitive vibrations of nature. Whenever vibrations reach us we are busy adding our selfish meaning to it, but the animals have remained far more receptive to the natural science of creation. The animals do not question nature or impose selfish thinking to such an event, they merely accept it, and survive.

When you cradle yourself in the bosom of nature, it takes care of you. Learning is not a process of abandoning nature. Somewhere in the process of building our own egocentric world, we have fatally forgotten the source we come from. Nevertheless, nature neither forgets nor forgives. It just balances its own creation.

Nowadays, all over the world each human being is eloquent on love, but what is love?

Nowadays, all over the world each human being is eloquent on love, but what is love?

In this mortal world, all descriptions of love are relative. Almost all our relationships are nothing but charades emanating from identity crisis. True love, in contrast, is not associated with the finite sensations of identity at all. The day when human beings truly understand the inner essence of love, there will be universal flowering of goodness. Love is divine and selfless. It is the spiritual nectar of the universal mind.

True love can flower if there is no intention to win. When there is no intention to win, desire disappears and love blossoms. Love is the everlasting spiritual movement of the universal mind. It begins when nothing is expected in return. Only through an unconditional submission one can comprehend the true glory and infinite happiness of love.

Love is a not a concept to be learned. Most of the people cannot understand the inner essence of love because of their conditioned minds. A conditioned mind knows only to give respect, not to love. Therefore, it is impossible for the conditioned mind to fathom the true glory and the infinite happiness of love.

Only a person who loves the universe can love the individual, others who claim that they love the particular, neither do they love the particular nor the universe. This is the law Eternal.

In this material world, we love someone when they are a comfort to us, and we hate someone when they are not a solace to us. Nevertheless, there is nothing great in loving someone when they are a consolation. This is just an outcome of self-comfort, narcissism and hypocrisy. M. K. Gandhi says, “Love never claims, it ever gives, love ever suffers, never resents, and never revenges itself.”

Kahlil Gibran says, “You give yourself little when you give your possessions. It is when you give yourself that you truly give.” Unconditional love cannot be an occasional act. It is an attitude, a dedication, a state of mind, and a disposition of benevolence, confidence and justice. Ancient spiritual declarations clearly assert that the true meaning of the word ‘Bhakti’ is nothing but an unconditional submission, the surrender. The day humanity realizes the the true root of Bhakti, the entire human race will be freed from all prejudice, aggression, frustration, loneliness and so on.

Bhakti begins where nothing is expected in return. In the state of Bhakti one cannot feel any expectation or desire. It is the most sacred, scientific and blissful state of unconditional love, where one goes beyond the particular space-time and merges with the creation of the eternal. In the state of Bhakti, the observer and observed becomes one. It is the highest state of spiritual oneness. It can happen with wife, husband, lover, child, friend or any given opposite. Bhakti itself is the true face of universal love. One can understand the true glory and infinite happiness of Bhakti only through unconditional submission. Gauthama Buddha says, “Neither prayers nor rituals make a man religious. The highest religion is the extinction of sinful desires”.

Note: My dear friend, sex is not love. Sex is the need of the body and the love is the need of life. When you truly realize the the art of love and sex ego disappears and in that ego-free state everything is bliss because only in the ego-free state identity crisis of the mind does not exist. If mind exist then all forms of cunningness will follow. So, first there is a need to kill the identity crisis of the mind to enjoy life as a whole.

Perhaps, adult need Christmas more than children do.

Perhaps, it really is when man takes the fruit of wisdom that he was driven out of paradise. As children grow into adulthood, as they learn more about the world, as they become arguably wiser, the ability to savor special moments for what they are is simply diminished. And so goes with celebrating Christmas.

Adults may have a few reasons to feel less excited about the occasion. Looking at a religious perspective, it is good to be reminded of the coming of the Messiah. But many are not even that deeply religious, and the widespread commercialization is not helping. Moreover, knowing and reflecting at the history, some aspects of Christmas celebrations has roots other than Christianity. The 25th of December is also unlikely the real birthday of Jesus Christ. And, for the average person working hard for every dollar, the occasion might be even viewed as a something that is rather expensive.

But why do we keep celebrating Christmas? Why are children a big part of the celebration? Why center it on gift giving? It is easy to say that it is all about business, that children have the power persuade their parents into keeping alive the billion dollar toy industry. It would even be much more right to say that we have to be reminded once every year of God’s great gift to us, Jesus Christ. It could also have reasons other than that, as it is impossible for billions of people to celebrate Christmas with a single motive.

I felt weird, feeling tired from work and having these thoughts even for a few seconds in the middle of a party. My attention turned back to my 2-year old boy who is lining up with the other children for the exchange of gifts. As his name was called, he came running , eagerly got his gift, turned to us and smiled. The smile was full of happiness, full of innocence, full of trust that what is inside is something special. He was so eager to open his gift I had to remind him to say thanks. He turned around, wide-eyed and said, ‘Thaenk yeo’. Everyone laughed. He was the youngest and, in my eyes, the cutest of the group. So young, so cute he does not even seem to know what the words ‘Thank you’ really meant.

As I drove home, a thought crossed my mind: Maybe, just maybe, little children know the meaning of ‘Thank you’ much more than adults do, and we need them to remind us every Christmas.

I mean by this incident that what I had experienced was very personal to me. My rat is my rat and you all have your rats and I don’t know how you feel when your rats are in front of you.

Inquiry is an inevitable part of human existence, and human mind easily changes every experience into a question. If you start questioning everything it becomes very destructive. You should avoid it. It is good to know all that which is still unknown but all that which is not knowable is beyond our reach. We should not waste our time in stupid questioning. If your mind is full of questions about such things which don’t seem to be in the reach of human mind, you will be distracted and there will be no peace in your life.

If you come across a situation where you feel that it is really inexpressible and it can’t be put into words, just enjoy it and avoid questioning. You must give subtle to grow and dance with you. In such an experience you will find that you will obtain something which can’t be expressed to others because you have experienced it and others can’t feel the same.

Generally, modern learned scholars are always ready to make theories, based on their hypothecation and observation. But you must avoid it and please don’t make a theory out of any experience which you think can’t be understood fully. I believe that theories are very dangerous and they are always uncertain.

You must remember that all that you have made is in your reach but all that nature has put before you is definitely beyond your reach. You can never understand it fully. You see the scientists have been making theories about human existence, including Darwin, for hundreds of years but they have not found the truth. They are further confusing the matter. I don’t mean that all scientific inquiries should stop; I mean to say that you should try to enjoy all that is in front of you. Let it grow. Don’t kill the child before it is born.

Sometimes, it happens that you have an experience which you can’t compare with any other experience. You try to find the reasons and the circumstances. You begin to believe that this and this thing is responsible for this experience. You are wrong here because the enjoyment which you may have had from the same experience was not received by your friends. At that moment something happened to you, something strange, something very subtle, and something divine perhaps, and you want to share it with others. Stop here for a while and try to concentrate. You can’t express it yet it has happened to you. You should be happy because you are blessed.

If something inexpressible starts happening to you, you are heading towards godliness, the ultimate secret of the divine. Keep on moving because you are on the right track. Don’t you try to share it with others because others will not understand you! Your happiness is very personal to you and you can’t explain it to others.

Your mind does not help you because it is bigger than mind. That something if it happens to you is the blessing. Just continue to enjoy it. You will never understand it through any kind of analysis, or dissection. You will have to absorb the entire experience. You will have to swallow the whole experience, digest it, and feel it within you. Let this experience become a part of you and then only you will understand it in totality.

Humans have their shortcomings. They try to name everything they come across. If you see a creature which you have never seen, you are disturbed. You want to name it. You begin to call it ‘rat’ and you are satisfied. You think you know rat but you are wrong. You have only named that creature but you can’t understand it. It will take a never ending research to know the physical aspects of rat but you will never be able to understand what is happening in the mind of the rat. You will never be able to experience all that that rat is experiencing. But you continue to make theories about the rat, its behaviour, its feelings, its actions and reactions, etc. You continue to ask questions but here you miss the point. You begin to live in the world of theories, assumptions, and your conclusions.

I have a rat in my shop. At night, if I am working late, I often see that rat come out of its hiding. When it first appeared, I did not pay much attention. I noticed the next time that it was eating a piece of biscuit which had fallen off the table in front of me. I did not mind. In the evening, I often take tea and biscuits in my shop. It continued for many months and that rat appeared every day.

One day, I was not feeling well so I did not order for biscuits. I was enjoying my tea. I noticed that the little rat was looking towards me with its round twinkling little eyes. It seemed he was asking where my biscuits were. I felt there was a connection between that rat and me. I immediately got up, brought a packet of biscuits from the kitchen and threw one biscuit in front of the rat. The little fellow got scared when the biscuit fell in front of it but soon that poor creature was enjoying the sweetness of the biscuit.

I felt something at that time and it seemed as if a ray of light had entered my mind. I was smiling, and after a while I began to laugh. I extended my hand and I wanted to touch the rat. I was quite amazed that the poor creature did not run away. I really touched it and it did not mind at all. That experience made me think about all the theories about humans and animals which had been stuffed into my mind in my schools and colleges. There was definitely something between me and my rat and it had not been mentioned in any course book which I had read. That something unknown did not need to be enquired because I had experienced it. I don’t want to question it and I don’t want to make any theory because it is possible that you begin to wait for your rat with a biscuit in your hand night after night but that rat never comes. No, I don’t want you to try to train your rat in the way I reacted with my rat. You might have a different rat, a very angry rat, and the moment you touch it, it bites you.

I mean by this incident that what I had experienced was very personal to me. My rat is my rat and you all have your rats and I don’t know how you feel when your rats are in front of you.

If something strange, something unknown, something inexpressible happens to you, just experience it, just dance with it, just continue to experience it. Please don’t pause to question it, don’t try to make theories, don’t try to tell it to others. You will see that without questions you will be a better person, with more peace of mind and more happiness.
