A movie directed by Garry Marshall,Produced by Mike Karz, and Written by Katherine Fugate. Not a really bad movie it'S just okay.

On New Year’s Eve, Vice-President of the Times Square Alliance Claire Morgan (Hilary Swank) is making the final arrangements for the ball drop with the help of her friend Brandon (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges). Meanwhile, after being nearly run over by a car and denied a vacation, Ahern Records secretary Ingrid (Michelle Pfeiffer) quits her job and offers the deliveryman Paul (Zac Efron) tickets for the Ahern Records Masquerade Ball if Paul helps her complete a series of New Year’s resolutions before midnight, which he accepts.

Paul’s sister, Kim (Sarah Jessica Parker), is having trouble with her teenage daughter Hailey (Abigail Breslin), who wants to spend New Year’s Eve with her friends and her boyfriend Seth (Jake T. Austin) in Times Square. Paul’s friend, comic book illustrator Randy (Ashton Kutcher), who hates New Year’s Eve after his girlfriend left him on a date, gets stuck in an elevator with Elise (Lea Michele), an aspiring singer who will be providing back-up for musician Jensen (Jon Bon Jovi) in his show at the Ahern Records ball, where he rekindles his feelings for his ex-girlfriend, Laura (Katherine Heigl).

At a nearby hospital, Stan Harris (Robert De Niro), a man in the final stages of cancer who refuses chemotherapy and who only wishes to see the ball drop one last time, is kept company by Nurse Aimee (Halle Berry) and Nurse Mindy (Alyssa Milano) after his doctor (Cary Elwes) reveals he will not last much longer. In the same hospital, a young couple, Griffin (Seth Meyers) and Tess (Jessica Biel), about to have their first child, competes with another couple, James (Til Schweiger) and Grace (Sarah Paulson), for a bonus offered for the family of the first child born in the new year. Elsewhere, Sam (Josh Duhamel), a businessman from Ahern Records, attempts to arrive at the Ahern Records Ball, where he is to deliver an important speech, after his car malfunctions on the other side of New York, all while wondering if he should attend a meeting with a mysterious woman he met and fell in love with on the previous New Year’s Eve.

As midnight approaches, one of the billboard lights of the Times Square panel malfunctions, jamming the ball and forcing Claire to call Kominsky (Hector Elizondo), an electrician the company had fired a few weeks prior. Kominsky repairs the ball seconds before midnight, and, in gratitude, Claire leaves him in charge of the operation, and rushes to see the ball drop with her father, Stan. Meanwhile, Nurse Aimee has a video conference with her husband (Common), a soldier serving in Afghanistan.

Paul helps Ingrid complete all the items on her list, and she gives him the tickets. Meanwhile, Randy and Elise bond, and, as they are about to kiss, the elevator is repaired and Elise rushes to Jensen’s show. Randy notices she forgot her rubber band and rushes to give it to her. At the Ball, Jensen leaves midway during the show and apologizes to Laura, who accepts him back and leaves with the approval of her assistant, Sous Chef Ava (Sofia Vergara). With Jensen gone, Elise is called to replace him and attracts the attention of the crowd. She kisses Randy, and they start a romantic relationship.

Griffin and Tess have their baby and, although it is born first, they allow James and Grace to have the bonus after discovering they actually have three children. Meanwhile, after being forbidden from attending the celebration, Hailey runs away to Times Square, where she sees Seth being kissed by another girl. Heartbroken, she meets and is comforted by her mother. Seth finds them and apologizes, claiming the girl stole a kiss from him. Hailey forgives him and Seth kisses her. Her mother allows her to go to an after-party. Kim then goes to a restaurant to meet Sam, who had succeeded in delivering his speech. She is the mysterious woman he met one year prior, and they finally discover each other’s names.

An ideal is an idea grasped firmly in the mind raised to a standard of perfection, superiority, or excellence. I have ideals that I look up to for guidance, but I am realistic about my goals. How about you?

Idealism stands on a higher level than reality. It is not necessary that I have to achieve what is ideal, but I use my idealism as a yardstick to evaluate or assess what I should be or could be. I know that this is not a safe journey to undertake, because when idealists fall short of the ideal, they become frustrated, something that is destructive to self-esteem. So, the basic requirement is: Whatever I am, I have to be a good one; or, I will try my best to be the best of what I am. The largest room in the world is the room for self-improvement. The competition is with myself only. If I had tried my best, why should I regret in the end? I am not God. I have my limitations, so I have to be realistic about what I can do.

Afraid to fail? All serious daring begins from within yourself. Remember that when the night is dark you can see the stars.

So, you want to change the world? Fine! But how can you do that if you yourself have not changed yourself for the better? In our search for the ideal, we climb the ladder of perfection, and how many times have we fallen back? God does not care about reputation. He looks at your scars, your character, because to Him reputation is nothing; character is everything.

Your self-concept may not reflect reality. Even if, for example, your family considers you to be a success, you still think that you have not done enough to measure to their expectations. When this happens it is important that you have the moral support of your family and friends to assure and re-assure you that you have done exceedingly well. You are not an island. The more recognition and assurance you get from them, the more you achieve agreement between your self-concept versus idealism. Rejection would spell confusion and frustration.

In other words, learn to accept yourself and to face challenges. The greatest delight in life is to try to do what people say you cannot do. Success is never illusory. Use your brain. ###

Forbidden love can't keep us apart.
a song I wrote last year about my current boyfriend.
if you could have one more moment with that special one,
what would you do?

I miss your brown eyes

Staring into mine while I lay mesmerized

When you held me in your arms,

I wanted nothing more than to stay with you forever

And now every time I look at you

I just want to smile just because I can

There’s a feeling that’s come over me.

We’ve been torn from the other

But no matter the distance,

My love hasn’t changed for you

There’s nothing I wouldn’t do
To have just one more chance
To look into your eyes and see you like I did before

And baby I will wait for you

Always and forever isn’t gonna end today

And I don’t know if you knew but

You’re the only one that leaves me breathless

And I know I haven’t been around for a while

But that doesn’t mean I stopped loving you

Or that I ever will

I’m not gonna hide from my feelings

I’m gonna hold on to what you gave me

I know that you never failed to see what was in these stars

And I’m not talking about the ones in the sky

I know this isn’t the end

We haven’t had our happy ending yet

You’re the one I want to be with baby

But if you want me to let go,

I love you enough to do that for you

There’s nothing I wouldn’t do
To have just one more chance
To look into your eyes and see you like I did before

Always and forever can wait for us

Baby did you know that you leave me breathless

Universe is defined as everything that exists, including all Galaxies, Stars, Planets, Comets, Energy and Matter. Nobody here in this world can tell how this universe begins. Are we alone in this universe or there is some extra, super natures forces or Human beings like us, really exists in this universe? There are only scientific observations, Predictions by the great scientists, About the earlier stages, in the development of the universe. Many scientists develop different types of theories about the evolution and existence of the universe. Like - Age of the Universe, Big Bang, Space and time, etc. But one question always remains in the mind of most peoples "ARE WE ALONE IN THIS UNIVERSE."

Most of the time peoples staring at the sky, watching at the stars in the night, thinking about a huge Word universe containing thousands of galaxies and planets, as they are so huge Word that our earth is smaller than a tiny atom. Is there any planet, which is similar to our earth in some other universe? It may be that peoples may be sending some signals which are not able to capture by us. As we are doing the same thing from the earth (Sending signals in the Universe). Moreover, recent discoveries have shown a planet that is very similar to our Earth and only twelve light-years away from our SUN.

Some Astronomers or scientist believes that there is always a possibility that we are not alone in this Universe. Our Universe is so vast, that one may not be able to travel to other galaxies, because of their long-distance and time period. However, the thing is that, many peoples has shown proof of Aliens and UFOs, but all that things are not real. Even, there is no proof of Aliens that are caught by the peoples. But However, some peoples claimed, that they have seen such those things that don’t belong to earth or some peoples being caught by the aliens.

Some astronomers or scientists have shown some of the latest evidence about the Aliens base on the MOON. Some sort of fast moving light traveling along the side of the moon, considered as the Alien UFO. Huge towers and buildings have also been seen on the MOON through the telescope by some peoples.

Summary Response to Megan Daum's Fame-iness.

Fame-iness is an essay written by Megan Daum about fame and celebrities. There are a lot of people that we may consider famous but fame is losing its true meaning. Nowadays, anyone can become famous and they don’t have to work too hard for it. A celebrity might not be famous to everyone but if they’re famous to at least fifteen people, that’s all that really counts.

This essay served no true purpose to me. I mean, who cares how famous a person is and what they did to get their fame. All that really matters is that they are there. Sure it’s easy to get fame now but why knock a person for it? They obviously had what it takes to get that fame for at least a short amount of time. That should give people with big dreams even more hope to want to pursue their dreams. At least now they know they stand a chance. I don’t think Daum really made her purpose clear when she wrote this essay.

We adore the wrong people in this society, and we should change direction.

TAINTED IDOLS

Why do we continue to idolize those whom we know are deficient?

Michael Jackson, worshipped as a song god, but he dangled his child off of a balcony showing there is something not to be idolized in him. And yet, millions stood with him and shrugged off his bad behavior!

Obuma, known to be a liar, as well as other things, still has a following. They don’t care about his lies, deceptions, falsehoods, etc., they just want to adore this ass.

Many players in the NFL and other organizations have done things like mistreat dogs, killed people while drunk, raped women, stolen, etc. and they are still held in high esteem when instead they should be ostracized and barred from any game organization.

The hell with this! If anyone of any talent does something heinous and totally against any sound moral principle, then they should be cast away from the public spotlight, not adored with all forgiven. This just says and promotes the idea that stars can get away with anything, and it is not a good example for any to follow.

My brother-in-law is a football fanatic, and will watch games forever, and yet, now he sees known rapists take the field, and he’ll change the channel because it makes him sick that criminals are praised just for their talent.

All of this sends the wrong message to our children, that they can do whatever they wish, just make sure they have great talent to get away with it! Beat your wife, but have talent as a wide receiver, rape a girl, but make sure you’re the star pitcher, abuse your child, but make sure everyone loves your music.

Are we sure we want to idolize these poor examples? What happened to adoring stars who actually had merit, like John Wayne, who stood for the American way of life, and other stars who sing of virtue while living it, and talked, sang, and promoted the accolades of America while being true to her?

Are we such a brazen society, that we will actually forget the insane, illegal things our idols do, just because we want to see them throw another pass, hit another home run, or sing a song of forgetfulness?

There are thousands of stars out there who don’t do bad things, and we should promote them, and let the trash go! Let’s idolize the ones worthy of praise, and let’s forget about the vermin which we somehow idolize today. Throw the crap to the curb, and send a message that we won’t tolerate bad behavior whether you are a star or not!

Finding or sharing happiness.

What may bring you happiness, is not necessarily what may bring others happiness.
That is why we know that there are many different kinds of happiness.  Some may find happiness in simple things. A simple, carefree life. Easy tasks, nothing too challenging. But finding great happiness in simple ways is how one may accomplish perfection. My husband said something to me the other day, something that truly hurt my feelings to the core. I told him that at times I hated my job. My job being a housewife, cook, bill payer, grass cutter, child rearer, laundry queen, etc. I told him that it was hard for me because everyone depends on me, and when I want someone to depend on, there is no one. He looked at me at said, with a straight face, “what else would you be doing?”  What else would I be doing?! I was so angry at his words. I thought about those six words for days after they were spoken. Then I thought about what would make me happy. What would bring me happiness? One of the worst things I am is a romantic. Being a romantic is not easy in today’s world. I don’t run across too many other romantics. There should really be a place, a small town would do, just for us silly romantics. Then I could be surrounded with other fools like me. I love to write. So much so that I have countless short stories, poems, novels stacked amongst my belongings. Some are finished, many are still a work in progress. I love to draw. There are countless sketches, black and white is my favorite, framed all over our home. I love to quilt. I have boxes and boxes filled to the brim with creations that I have hand stitched through the last thirty years. I love to knit. Every since I taught myself how to knit, I have created countless pairs of winter socks, scarves, hats, blankets, and baby booties.  But I also love to bake. The best reward for my baking is when my family devours it and can’t get enough. When they ask and wait for another creation to come out hot from the oven. I enjoy preparing a big dinner for the entire family to sit at our large dining room table to feast upon. A meal that takes, literally, hours to prepare, yet is gone within moments of serving. I generally end up being the very last one to leave the table. I sit and slowly partake of the meal that has taken me all afternoon to prepare.  I love the touch of a baby’s face in my palm. To hold such an angel and gaze into his/her eyes. The hug my children and feel that endless love melt out of them. To hold my husbands hand, even after all these years, while we walk together. That connection that we have to the ones we love, the ones we brought into this world.  I love to read. Reading has brought so many different worlds into my life. Different countries, traditions, histories. I can’t imagine not being able to read. I collect books so that I always have new ones sitting on the shelf that I know one day I will be able to relish.  I love to teach. It doesn’t matter what age you are, we can always learn something new. I suppose those who love to teach have great patience and love to share knowledge.  I love God and the Son of God. My faith has taken me down many paths during my many decades that I have had the breath of life within me. I can sit and listen, for hours, to gospel songs that not only bring me to tears, but bring me to my knees. My very soul cries out to Father for His mercy, forgiveness, and healing. I am always judging myself and always feeling there are so many more ways that I can improve myself. I never want Father to turn His ear from my words, my cries, my weaknesses. I believe I could spend the rest of my life reading His Word and still never know it all. I long for the day when I shall be gathered into His arms. I will nestle myself upon His lap, and hide beneath His wing. I long for the love of a Father.  I love to watch and listen to the birds. I can sit for hours and gaze into the sky above, whether it’s night or day. I love to feel the wind upon my flesh. The wind; we can feel it, smell it, see what it can do but yet it remains invisible. Such power – we cannot see it, but we certainly know it’s there. I love to laugh. I can listen to children laughing for hours. It brings such a deep joy within my spirit. Laughter is wonderful. And leaves  us feeling light as a feather. It removes so much stress from our very bones. It’s good for us. We all need to laugh more often.  I love to garden. I long to be on our farm where I can have a huge garden. One with vegetables, and many with flowers. Fruit trees and even honey bees. I want paths made of stone and lined with small lanterns. At night, I want to sit on our porch and gaze out onto the field and see small lights glowing on the many paths. I want to sit in the dirt and smell it in my hands. I want to pull the weeds and water the fruits. I want to store up what we need and share the rest with neighbors and friends.  What else would I be doing?  I am not a one dimensional person. There are so many levels to me. Unfortunately, for my husband. He will never understand all that there is within me. I am sorry for that. He tells me constantly that I am, “too deep” for him. I refuse to be shallow to anyone, especially myself. We can make our own happiness. I plan on attempting to create mine for the rest of my days. I may fail at times, but that doesn’t mean I won’t continue trying.  Some find happiness in hurting others. They are truly unhappy individuals and only find joy in bringing ugliness to another’s life. They have no family or children and wish only pain on those who have such blessings. They have no souls. They are the walking dead. They only see what is in front of them – and have no desire in making their lives happier. They will seek it but will never find it, and that is because they continually try to rob it from others. They have no innocence. They are bad people, blackened hearts. Weighted down by evil. And they only help that evil to grow. I feel sorrow for such people – sorrow that they will never know what utter joy truly is or how to share such. Some find happiness in order. They must have order in all aspects of their lives. They have to control everything. Nothing can be left up to chance. Not for me. Too much order is suffocating to me. I need surprise.  Some find happiness in others doing everything for them. Leaving them to merely walk through life breathing. Motions I call it. The act of motions. Robots. Always leaving all up to others, never doing it for themselves. How utterly boring! Nothing new or interesting ever happens to them because routine is all they desire. The same meal times each day; the same schedule each day; the same clothes worn; the same shows to watch. I would surely die from such motions. I enjoy different things; different places; different foods;
different schedules; different books; different clothes; different everything! What brings you your happiness? Is it helping others? Charity? Giving? Cooking? Baking? Raising children? Helping the elderly? Teaching? Art? Music? Photography? Traveling? Exploring? History? Scripture? Friends? Laughter? Clouds? Stars? Building? Writing? Reading? Walking? Magic? Conversation? Technology? Movies? There are so many different happy’s.

Young stars passing away too soon.

Now that we’ve all had a few days to absorb the shock of Amy Winehouses’ passing, it is in my humble opinion, time to get PISSED OFF!! Just how many times do we have to hear this kind of news? How many people have to have their lives cut so terribly short before someone with a big pair of balls stands up and says ‘NO MORE’? A talented young woman with so much to live for is gone and we should all be asking why. By all accounts she had the fame, riches, adulation of millions yet, sadly the evils within would not allow her to be happy.

At 27 years old what demons could possibly be responsible for not allowing these young people to heal? Why haven’t they been able to resolve and go on? Are these young people just a piece of property that make far too many rich and those who profit just don’t give a crap because there is always someone else to take their place? Make the money, the money, the money at any cost.

Be honest, even in her death people are going to profit and that is not right. Clearly from the beginning Amy needed help, those in charge should have gotten her a mentor, someone who cared, someone to guide her, watch over her, love her and help her battle the demons. Those responsible for her career should have forced her into rehab and made the ultimatum if she didn’t clean up and get help you’re not working for us. A life saving no ifs, ands, or buts choice that you clean up or you’re out of here. Do it not for the money, or the fame, but because it is the right thing to do.

Managers, record label executives, assistants, friends, anyone in the ‘camp’ which surrounds these troubled young stars need to stop looking upon them as a pay cheque and remember they are human. To say, ‘I couldn’t stop him/her because they’d fire me, or stop talking to me’ is in my opinion a load of bullshit. If they fire you then it’s your moral obligation to pursue the matter even more vigourously and in any way you can get them the help needed. Stop shielding them, stop protecting them, stop enabling them and in plain english, fuck the money, save a life! Stop living off someone elses’ misery and problems and do whatever you need to do in order to help these tormented soles.

Had someone found the balls to say no to Michael Jackson he’d still be in the world. If someone had stood up to Kurt Cobain and forced his drug induced ass into rehab he’d be here for his daughter. If people had been a little kinder and understanding to Dana Plato instead of throwing her out onto the streets where she didn’t know how to survive she’d still be here and unfortunately the list goes on.

How do seeminly normal people sit by and watch another human being kill themselves with drugs/booze/mental illness? Managers, roadies, bff’s, you’re all responsible to keep your ‘pay cheque’ on the straight and narrow. Have fun, enjoy the life you’ve been allowed to participate in but for christ sakes stop watching such talented people go to an early grave. If it were my choice I’d much rather have my ‘pay cheque’ pissed off at me for weeks, maybe months, than to visit them in a cemetary. I’d rather cry when they come around to say ‘thank you’ than to shed tears over the casket of someone gone way too soon. But that’s just me, a caring person who wants the people in my life that I love to be happy and healthy.

So the dust will settle, the rumours about what killed Amy will subside, people will tell tales, and the truth will eventually come out and we, the general public will wait, wait for the next one. Who will it be?

Grace P
