You may have not heard about Brooke Hundley until recently when she made the news when a copy of a letter she sent to Steve Phillips’ wife became public. In the letter, acquired by the media, addressing  his wife Marni Phillips, Brooke Hundley describes the large birthmark on his crotch above the penis of  Steve Phillips.

Brooke Hundleyis a 22 year old production assistant  at ESPN who got really angry when Steve Phillips dumped her and retaliated by trying to contact his family, delivering a letter to his door and crashing her car in the process. Steve Phillips is no stranger to infidelities. In 1998, as General Manager of the Mets, he was accused of sexual harassment involving an employee who worked in the Mets office. The claim was settled for an undisclosed amount and Steve Phillips admitted to what he called a “consensual” affair and to several other infidelities.

This recent revelation by the scorned Brooke Hundley is not going away quietly. It is reported that his wife Marni Phillips has filed for a divorce, finally. In addition, Steve Phillips has accused Brooke Hundley of threatening the well being of his family. He described her as “obsessive” and “delusional”. Could these traits have been what attracted himto her in the first place?  It is also reported that Steve Phillips has been suspended from ESPN for a week.

It is almost like and epidemic. Late Show David letterman and his intern, now ESPN Steve Phillips and his assistant. Are there any faithful men left or is fidelity too much to ask  when middle aged men are surrounded by fresh  young blood. When  the affair goes wrong, for some reason the young females are the home wreckers and sluts while the men are only doing what comes naturally – cheating on their wives.

It is also interesting that the perpetrators often come out smelling roses. There was sympathy for Dave Letterman because he was reportedly being blackmailed, he was hailed as a hero and benefited from a rise in ratings. Steve Phillips is the “hunted” man, the object of the now unwanted affections of a “crazy woman” who he claims to have had sex with a few times in a three week period.  

The Brooke Hundley-Steve Phillips scandal is not over by a long shot. Steve Phillips will undoubtedly have his hands full for a long time to come. Brooke Hundley on the other hand may be seen popping up in the media to defend her newly acquired “crazy” label. But which 22 year old isn’t?
