Marijuana was originally legal for recreational and medical purposes in the United States.  However, in 1914, Marijuana was added to the controlled substance list and taxed in order to stop Mexican farmers from being able to afford it.  Then, in 1937, the Marijuana Transfer Tax Act, was passed and prohibited the production of hemp as well as Marijuana.  This act was set in place due to the smear campaign run by William Randolph Hearst in the 30s, due to his interest in the timber industries.  Hemp was a cheaper alternative to timber which led to Hearst’s campaign.

Reasons

• The Federal Government spends over Ten Million Dollars a year enforcing the prohibition of Marijuana.
• It has been proven to work effectively against the disease of glaucoma which is the leading cause of blindness.
• The Government could tax the product of Marijuana and stimulate the economy.
• Jobs would open as Marijuana farmers which would also stimulate the economy.
• The underground drug trafficking money would be stopped as the profits of Marijuana would be spread between the farmer and seller at convenience stores.
• Marijuana could have laws against the public use, use in schools, and age restrictions similar to that of alcohol.
• Marijuana is no worse than alcohol in regards to health effects.
• The Government could change the target age from teenagers to 18+ making it more safe.
• Being under the influence of alcohol is much more endangering than being under the influence of Marijuana.
• The Government can control Marijuana if it is a controlled substance much more than as an illegal substance.

Stop the phony war on drugs, legalize it as it could boost the economy out of the recession.

One morning I had decided that it was a good idea to try to super glue my glasses when I stepped on them the previous night. After letting the bond dry for awhile i put them on my face and the glue instantly took my skin captive, needless to say I was upset. I needed to leave so I quickly shaved and got on with my daily routine. Everything seemed normal, and that’s when I realized that normal was a good thing, the shaving had removed the super glue! I had to know more, so when I got home I applied a little super glue to my fingers (Do not try at home), and the disposable razor removed the glue and left no marks! I couldn’t believe how easy it was to remove the glue- the second time I did not even need shaving cream. I would recommed using extreme caution when using super glue or the razor, because either can hurt you in an unnecessary way.

So the moral of the story here is if you find yourself in a sticky situation, a disposable or cartridge razor will help you get out.

Tully the Duck

     Tully the duck was shot in the head with a nail gun. Luckily for him, the 4 inch nail missed his eye and his brain, causing no serious damage. It took the rescuers 3 days to catch him, and only 15 minutes to perform the surgery to remove the nail. Tully is recovering now and taking antibiotics.

Sticky the Kitty

     Sticky got her name from the situation she was found in. Poor Sticky is a one year old cat that was found completely wrapped by a roll of duct tape. Whoever wrapped her up used the entire roll, wrapping multiple times around her body and also around her legs. The cat was left abandoned, but when found was imediately taken to the Philidelphia SPCA. They unwrapped Sticky and are now trying to wrap up her case.
