table.MsoNormalTable { line-height: 115%; font-size: 11pt; font-family: “Calibri”,”sans-serif”; }

Imagine! Triiiinnggg…!! Your wake up alarm is ringing!! Its 8 o clock!! You have to start your office work at 9 o’ clock! You roll over your bed and go to another room switch on your computer system and start your work!! Isn’t it everyone’s dream to work like this from home? But remember, you have to pay something if you want your dream to be reality!

Working from home is not always as easy as you think. Work from home can give you luxury but at the same time you have make more efforts to get your work done. Its tough to fight with your laziness and it makes you unproductive at home. you have to work hard to make yourself updated and you have motivate yourself ,organize yourself day in and day out.

In stock market there are many people who work from home. This article may help them to work better and to increase productivity. Remember some rules if you are working from home. Follow the rules strictly and work from home will be the real pleasure with productivity.

Rule 1: No one likes dirty people! Be organized!

If you work from home, the most irritating and the basic mistake people do is they do not bath. Never forget to take bath before you start your work. Do not sit unshaved without taking bath in your night dress! If you treat yourself as if you are going to office and dress up properly then it will surely increase your productivity. So come on, move your lazy bones a bit before your start working. It’s not so tough!

Rule 2 : There is no office without office table !

Well, if you are working from home try to get your own space at home. Come on, it’s your office! Respect it! You must have at least one table at your place where you work. Don’t use couches or kitchen table or any other desk for your work. You office table should be dedicated just for your business work and nothing else! Don’t allow your spouse to use it as dressing table! Do not let any other paper or anything else into your space.

Rule 3 : Have good chair for your work.

O.k., now this is something really important. Take it seriously. When you work from home do not forget to have one very nice chair which can give you comfort during your work time. One should not avoid this rule at any cost. Your chair will decide your productivity. You have to spend a lot of time on that chair. Take the best chair and feel the difference!

Rule 4: Work from home doesn’t mean stick at one place. Stay in Touch!

Go out guys! you are working from home so chances are there that you may not be very social as you don’t have people around you to interact during your work time. You can go to local coffee shop or book store for your work. It is very important to put yourself in social environment around you otherwise slowly and surely you will find yourself alone and disconnected with other people. Secondly, you never know you can get the next great thing during your trip to coffee shop! Oh no, no… I am not talking about new girl friend!

Rule 5: Have someone to pinch you. Have Schedule.

When you are working from home try to make a proper schedule for your work .Have some one around you who can pinch you at regular interval if you are not following your schedule. You should have strict hourly schedule. There will be many distractions around you when you work from home. This schedule will help you to concentrate on your work better. People working from home have the luxury of creating their own schedule, but it is still important to treat your day like a regular work day. You should also be careful for your co-worker and clients schedule and should follow them too. Make sure you are not taking them for granted.

Rule 6:Use Technology and save time

Update yourself with new technology around you. Use technology. It will surely save your time. If you are working from home then most of your work can be done through technology. Try to learn different technology around you.

Rule 7: Take a break before you are broken.

While you work from home do not forget to take some break during your busy day. No work and all play will make you dull for sure! Get away from your work desk and take a break from your work. Take your meal on time and take one smaller break in your day. You can add them in your schedule so that you can take it and your schedule will remind you for the same. Taking break will keep mentally healthy and will not let you break yourself due to overload!

Rule 8: have start time and end time.

When people work from home this is one very common but dangerous problem they face. They may not have any starting point or they do not have any ending point! They keep working even after office ours. Sometimes they don’t work but they do some surfing on net or some “not so important” work after finishing work. This will give stress to their body. Better have pre determined ending point for your work. After that time you can be fully relaxed and you can do some personal work or you can spend time with your family.

Rule 9: Develop at least one hobby

Developing hobby will help you to refresh you from daily work schedule. When people work from home alone it becomes very boring sometimes. Develop some hobbies so that you can come out of that boredom. Read some books, news paper, internet sites. Try to be active on social networking sites in free time. Get some information about the people around you. Keep yourself updated with your social network. Listen music can help you to refresh too.

Rule 10: When Going gets tough, though gets going!!

Well, working from home is not always fun. During tough time, people generally have boss or co workers to boost the temperament but when you do not have boss at home you may feel low. During tough time, never give up. Remember… when going gets tough, tough gets going.

Rule 11: Be happy, be grateful!!

Imagine! You wake up everyday …you travel a mile in windy winter or hot summer or in heavy rain and go to office. You sit on one very crappy chair and work whole day like anything and come home again everyday!! Stop stop stop .. Stop imagining!! Because you are not one of those people who feel all these pain everyday! So be happy that you are making your empire your way! Be grateful for your work. Be grateful for your life!

So friends … thank you very much for reading this article till end! And thank you all of you because of people like you who works from home I could write this article. Now give your comments on this article below.

Now … Get back to work!

We are going through a difficult phase in the economy called recession. Recession is a natural occurrence as described in Economics. But in today's gloabalized world, recession has got a very severe impact and makes our future unpredictable.

Recession is a term associated with financial crisis that will affect the economy adversely. This monster spreads like an epidemic affecting many countries around the world and may continue for a longer period of time than that is expected.

This time recession began its journey with the housing bubble burst in US. It was triggered by people who are unable to pay their expensive housing loans in time and banks who lent money without detailed verification. Banks had to suffer huge loss by auctioning these houses at a lower rate. Many people lost their dwelling place all of a sudden. Now this huge crisis caused reputed banks to go bankrupt all of a sudden and damage was very severe. Spending pattern of people fell sharply causing a sudden fall in Crude oil and reflected in decrease in price of other commodities also.

Following the sudden turn of events in the US housing markets, financial markets in US and around the world reacted sharply. A negative sentiment began to grow among investor community to book loss in share market by selling shares at a much lower rate. This again stimulated the downward trend of the economy and will continue for sometime.

This monster is here to stay for some years to come and strict measures will be taken by Governments to overcome recession. Overcoming this gruesome situation is not easy for common people as they are affected worst. Scarcity of food, good living conditions and job losses will become the norm of the day. Everyday we hear the news that recession is spreading its wings far and wide and nothing can be predicted about today’s economy unless you know all the intricacies that are behind world economy. It is not an easy task to study, analyze the global economy compared to the economy of a particular country.

Let's learn more about the stock market crashes of the last 100 years, as well as the current Global Financial Crisis of 2008.

It has been a pretty grim few weeks as governments around the world scrambles to respond to the Global Financial Crisis of 2008. But if it is of any consolation, this is just one of the several that have rocked the world. And the good news is - the world survived all of them in the past.

The Great Depression (1929)

The Big Crash

After the extravagance of the Roaring Twenties, the American stock market was getting shaky amidst speculative fears. Between 1 September and 21 October, the market fell by 40 percent. On 24 October 1929, the stock market began to drop drastically. It was known as Black Thursday. By July 1932, it was down by 90 per cent.

By 1933, a quarter of the American workforce was out of job. Widespread unemployment and misery followed. It caused the world to plunge into a global depression that lasted for more than a decade until World War II.

People could be seen everywhere on the streets on Black Thursday, 24 October 1929, as the stock market crashed. (Photo courtesy of Flickr)

Recovery

World War II was declared in 1941 and the preparations brought the economy back on track.

Importance

The Great Depression, which is the worst that the world has ever seen, is still being used as a benchmark for how far the economy can fall.

The Oil Shock (1973)

The Big Crash

It began when the world’s oil producers quadrupled oil prices. On 17 October, they announced that they would stop shipping oil to the United States, its allies in Western Europe and Japan. It was a move to retaliate against US for supporting Israel in the Yom Kippur War against Iraq, Syria and Egypt in 1973.

The surge in oil prices caused a jump in inflation which led to the first instance of stagflation (people were out of jobs but prices remained stubbornly high). It was the worst thing that could happen to an economy.

Recovery

Oil prices stabilised in the late 1970s, but rose to a new peak when war broke out in 1981 between Iran and Iraq. However, it declined gradually again after the war.

Importance

The Oil Shock is brought up as a warning to the economy each time oil prices shoot up to new records.

Black Monday (1987)

The Big Crash

A dark cloud loomed across the nation as the trade deficit continued to widen and there was a rash of investigations into insider trading. On 19 October 1987, jittery investors who were hit by confidence moved en masse out of stocks into safer bonds. Computers automatically cut their traders’ losses by issuing a large number of sell orders. This caused the system to lag, creating mass panic among investors. They reacted by dumping stocks in the darkness before they fell by more.

That day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average saw the biggest percentage drop in history by 22.6 per cent, wiping out US$500 billion in one day.

Panic selling swept through Wall Street as the Dow dropped by more than 500 points. (Photo courtesy of Flickr)

Recovery

Global markets restricted trading. Liquidity was pumped into the system. Recovery was fairly rapid and the Dow rebounded to its previous level within a year.

Importance

Though macro-economic factors played a part, this was the first instance of computer trading systems contributing to such a huge loss. Also, no one knows the exact cause despite the US stock market losing almost a quarter of its value in one day.

The Asian Financial Crisis (1997)

The Big Crash

The Thai government ended the baht’s peg to its US dollar due to the speculative attacks to its currency. As a result, it caused the baht to halve in value and the Thai economy to come to a halt.

Most of Asia was affected as currencies buckled, stock markets crashed and asset price fell. The Thai stock market fell by 74 per cent, followed by Hong Kong’s 23 per cent and South Korea’s 7 per cent in a single day. Asian economies went into recession, causing global growth to slow down.

Local residents rushed to buy bags of government discounted rice with the little money they had in Jakarta, Indonesia, which was one of the countries hardest hit by the Asian Financial Crisis. (Photo courtesy of Flickr)

Recovery

The road to recovery was slow and painful despite help from the International Monetary Fund. It suffered more economic shocks along the way. But the economies in the region got back on track when they were boosted by a global boom.

Importance

Asian governments have learnt their lessons from the financial crisis and built up hefty reserves. Thus, it helps them to be better insulted from the current downturn.

The Dot.com Bust and 9/11 (2001)

The Big Crash

With the rise of internet in 1995, a completely new online market was created. Companies and investors greedily invested into it but their dreams were dissolved as newly listed start-ups folded quickly for having spent and borrowed more than what they could earn in time.

The US Nasdaq lost nearly 9 per cent within a week in March 2000. Furthermore, the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001 caused The Dow to suffer its worst losses which weakened the economy even further.

Recovery

Western countries such as the United States and the European Union were worst hit. They went into recession. However, the market rebounded in 2003.

Importance

The crisis is the most recent example of what happens when a healthy stock market abruptly crashes when it is being pushed up by speculative activity.

SARS and Iraq War (2003)

The Big Crash

The world was badly hit by the Sars epidemic and the Iraq war. Asian economies were forced back into slower growth and recession fears, just when they were starting to recover from the financial crisis of the 1990s.

Recovery

After Sars was contained, many economies including Singapore and China embarked on an economic expansion which was fuelled by the long-delayed property booms, as well as growing demand in exports.

Importance

People remember the downturn as it is still fresh in their minds. Much has been experienced and learnt during the Sars period. As such, countries will be more prepared to combat future epidemics.

The Current Global Economic Crisis (2008)

The Big Crash

The US sub-prime mortgages became worthless when home owners defaulted on their loans. This caused the housing and property market to collapse, which wiped out Wall Street’s revered investment banks. It pulled down companies, stock markets and economies around the world along with it.

On 29 September, the Dow posted its biggest loss in history by falling 777.68 points. As a result, more than US$1 trillion was lost in a single day in the US.

The powerful Group of Seven finance chiefs discussed ways to fight the global economic crisis and to restore confidence in the financial system. (Photo courtesy of Reuters)

Recovery

Countries around the world have come up with drastic measures to counter the financial crisis but recovery is nowhere in sight yet.

Importance

According to experts, this is the closest the world has come in rivalling the Great Depression. With the complex financial system still unwinding by the day, the crisis is nowhere near over. Countries have to stay united to combat it together.

The world has come a long way and has learnt its lessons from past stock market crashes of the century. I am confident it will pull through the current financial meltdown. Let us pray the crisis will end soon. Let us remain as optimistic as we possibly can. Let us stay united together!
