An essay on the strengths and weakness of the Articles of Confederation.

The Articles of Confederation was one of the first official documents of the United States. However after ten years the Articles were replaced by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Articles were a stepping stone which led to the Constitution however the Articles contained more weaknesses than strengths which forced the colonists to get rid of them and create a new document.

There were quite a few strengths and weaknesses of The Articles. For one The Articles gave the government power to declare war and/or peace. However, the government wasn’t allowed to have a formal army or navy. The federal government would have to rely on the states for a military. Of all the weaknesses the biggest weakness of The Articles was the inability of the government to tax the citizens or even the states. Without being able to levy direct taxes on its citizens, the federal government was largely unable to govern. Instead of taxes, states were able to contribute whatever amount of money they wanted to the federal government, even if that amount was nothing at all. Funding infrastructure was difficult enough without regulated funding, but America was in the middle of fighting a war. The American Revolution as well as any other wars the United States would become engaged in would be an uphill battle because of their astonishing cost. Congress could only declare war and not fight it, making any declaration of war merely a symbol of the “United States” as a nation, using the façade of a country over the infinitely more powerful small state governments. Congress could not gain any credit for the nation after the war because it was unable to raise any taxes to pay off the national debt.

If the government had the ability to tax then the articles might have had a chance. But since it didn’t there was no hope for The Articles of Confederation.

Straight and narrow points of discipline in relationships. Either with yourself or someone else.

Have you ever heard of a rod? You know! It’s long or short. Hard, stern, most of the time straight and sometimes brown or black in color. It’s best known as a stick, bar, or a staff. Shepards were even known to have used them in order to keep their flocks together.

A rod is also known to help in discipline and in training purposes. Discipline is a training intended to produce a certain pattern of behavior or character. How long it’s needed or how well it works is another story.

Suppose you shared the essentials of bonding in a relationship with a great friend. Your hopes, your dreams, your desires, your trust and your honesty. You believe in your friend. Now lets believe that that same friend betrayed you. Suppose they lied to you and you found out about the deception. Or they spread rumors about you behind your back. Or they may have sided with another person whom you know very little or much about, whether you liked them or not. You can’t believe it. Your stunned. And you begin to wonder where did the respect go. This betrayal starts to feel like cheating. The relationship between you both has been rocked. The tree of love has been shakened and found to have either a lot or a few bad apples. Things are not what they seem. Not straight forward. And very unbalanced. How do you feel now?

Betrayal can be classified as cheating, abandonment and isolation. It is also known as a one man island. With separation and destruction as it’s partner. There are so many examples of cheating where the term betrayal is bargained with. Using words like, “It was just a little white lie, or it wasn’t really that bad, or even, I didn’t do anything to you.” These statements further the fights, arguments, and the police phone calls.

To better understand the problem of why this happens, it goes back to the rod and the discipline idea. Certainly trust and honesty are the two biggest words that can clarify what’s missing in the relationship, but there are two more words that broadens the picture in this kind of relationship.

A rod can be remembered as being straight at best and strong to depend on. Similar to an old man walking with a cane to hold himself up. The old man never assumes that the rod will let him down or be any different than the day before. As he walks, he feels it’s dependency. He feels its strength being more than himself. He feels it’s security and never looks at it any different as the days go by for usage. This belief, gives him his freedom to be comforted.

Now discipline is what the old man exercises. The old man is in daily training. Without the discipline the rod is of no use. He’s uses the rod to help increase his discipline. He’s up. He’s down. He stops and waits. And soon he is moving again. With every movement he maintains the act of strenghtening his legs, his arms, and the rest of his body to discipline movements. Without it, he lacks discipline. This belief, gives him his freedom to believe in his character.

As far as friendship having a rod and discipline effect, we need to imagine that in a relationship of any choosing, we tend to want our best foot forward. Our best efforts admired. And the dependency of them both being completely honest and trust worthy. No person is an island with this method. And abandonment is nearly impossible.

Bragging, boasting, gossip, backstabbing, arrogance, pride, envy, mutney, resentment, lieing, avoidance and harrassement helps create the lack of discipline and abondonment postions. And the lack of discipline is being out of order with being mature and bearing great fruit for yourself and others around you.

Peace, harmony, wisdom, respect, sacrifice, patience, encouragement, compromise, honor, empathy, belief, promise and faith helps create the strength of the rods respect. Just because you don’t see the war, doesn’t mean that there isn’t one around the corner to challenge your weakness or your strengths. So keep your rod and keep it moving even in peaceful moments.

Sacrificing not, to doing the right thing in all the right places, means limited amounts of freedom or none at all. Meantime, discipline is blocked from settling into a lot of the right spots. And the rod is never exercised for producing better relationships. The rod of discipline becomes over looked or cut down to size in the mind of a human. And it is said that you cannot produce what you do not possess. Possess the rod and walk faithfully. So that others may depend upon your character, time and time again for all the right reasons.

In your relationships you could influence others to have a better attitude by changing yours. Learn to find those who carry traits of peace, in-spite of suffering. Do what’s right whether than what’s easy. Above all, learn to live your life under discernment. Without it, leaders tend to fail quickly. And be a great Shepard to those who are in your circle of life.

Have your rod by discipline. Make a decision to be happier and then expect some of those to follow. Above all stay straight…not crooked. by Nancy M.

A long summary in my opinion of what I thought life is in general through lessons, quotes, and advices that I heard and still hearing in my life. I wrote this so that maybe people could relate to what I wrote, and maybe share the same things I had or still go through.

The things that we go through help define who we are.

What we do every day determines our actions for tomorrow.

How we live today, will guide a path for the rest of our lives.

When we love someone, you should hold them close to your heart,

because our lives don’t live for long.

Love like there is no tomorrow, laugh like you never laughed

before, because you should never forget the little things in life.

How can we spend the rest of our lives if we don’t live our life

to the fullest?

Don’t take everything for granted, they were there for a reason, to

help you live a better life, and for you to learn from that mistake.

Take life as it comes to you, because who knows, it might never

come back again.

Take a breath when you need to, and take it easy, life is stressful

as it is, so don’t make it even more unbearable for yourself.

If you are in a relationship, listen to one another. Arguing over something

stupid can mess everything up that you had going for each other.

Kiss the one you love, not the one you hate!

If you hold a grudge, you should let it go or karma will come your way.

Give a smile when you know someone needs it the most, give back to the

people who helped you before you can give to someone else.

If you love someone tell them before they are gone forever, because you

will regret it in the end.

Having a person who will be there at your side when you need them

the most, that is the person you can depend on and count on them to be there.

When you live in the real world, conquer your little goals first before you

can start that quest to challenge your dreams.

Take those small steps towards who you want to be, and once you have

found yourself, take your determination with you and never lose sight of it.

When you are lost, ask and seek for help from you friends and family, because

they are there for you all day, every day.

Don’t lose hope, it’s there, you just have to reach as far as you can, go as far

as you can, if you just believe in yourself first and never let anything hold you down.

Then you can find a way to accept the hard things in life that make it difficult

to live.

Ask your parents if you need help, that’s the reason why they ask you

if you need help! Don’t be stupid, accept what they are willing to give to you,

because they will give you more than you have asked for.

Having confidence in yourself, can lead to leadership, which can lead to a path of

conquering your fears and you can step outside of your comfort zone.

Take the time to really listen to what your parents have to say, after all, let’s face

it, they were kids, adolescents, teenagers, and adults and now they are our parents.

Let’s be serious here, they have been through a lot, and we should be mindful of that

and be mindful that they know a lot more things than we do.

Respect their authority, for they have been respectful to us over the years.

We should look forward to what is ahead of us, with our heads up and our feet

firmed with strength and courage, because with these two things, it can take us two

steps forward and two steps back.

We should take what’s in front of us and work with it, and make it our own, and then

decide for ourselves what we will do with it.

Don’t be fooled by strangers, let them be fooled by you. Don’t let your eyes be deceived

by your surroundings, let your surroundings be deceived by what you see.

We should have faith in what we believe in and stand for what we think is right, and be

mindful of what the views of others are.

When the time is right, we should take matters into our own hands when it concerns

us. And when life seems to be going fast, slow down and pace yourself.

Be calm and conscious of others, for they will be humbled by our actions.

We don’t know what is in store for us, for we have no control over the things in our

lives.

But we can change our future if we accept what has happened already and take in the

valuable lessons we learn from it.

Because in the end we will always be thankful of what we have accomplished and what

we have learned from over the years.

And as we go on with our lives, we should always know that life isn’t what it seems, life

isn’t all fun and games, that life gets rough, and that there may be times that we may feel

like we should give up; but we push onward when it gets tough, because we know that if

we give up, we lose, but if we fight on and keep going we win and we feel like we can do

almost anything we set our minds on.

There are many opportunities in life and we should take the time to find the right choice that

will lead us to our own future.

What is the next step?

When you feel that you have come to a turning point in your life and know that you have to make a change for the better, what is the first thing you may think of? Money? I can tell you from experience that money is not the real key. A lot of great things have happened when people focus on money but there have also been many disasters. The real answer to making a change in your life is to look within. The only thing stopping you from achieving your goals is you. That’s right, if you think you can’t do it, you probably won’t.

For all the good it does, making decisions with the help of family and friends can be rewarding but when it comes to major life-changing decisions you have to weigh all the options. The guaranteed investment is to work from within yourself to determine your strengths and weaknesses. From here you can truly make a decision that will benefit not only you but others who are important to you. The reason I say this is because investing in your self-worth affects how you interact with others in a way that is indescribable. When we are just walking blindly through life and not living our dreams, others that we care about may suffer because we are not a true, happy self.

Clear knowledge of our strong and weak points defines us more than our names, and helps us know our place in the social and even business world. The greatest justice you can ever do to yourself is to discover, acknowledge and embrace your strengths and weaknesses.

Knowing your strengths and weaknesses isn’t as simple as pulling answers out of the air; there is a science to it. And understanding your strengths is one of the most important pieces of the happiness and success puzzle. This knowledge will make you pursue the right career, invest in the right stock, know how to manage your fat pocket book after winning that lottery and lead the right life.

Checking and acknowledging your strengths-cum- weakness equilibrium is strength in itself, as this balance will also ensure that you maintain the right self confidence. And remember, your ability to feel confident as a person is directly proportional to your beliefs at the emotional level. And the most important factor in building self-confidence is to learn to gain more control over your emotional state.

Clear knowledge of our strong and weak points defines us more than our names and titles. This clear knowledge helps us acknowledge victory with humility, and defeat with honor and dignity. It too helps us to understand that life challenges and occasional defeat do not reduce us from who we really are, they instead help us to understand ourselves better.

Walking in the knowledge of our strong and weak points does not mean you are going to be right all the time. There are going to be times you make mistakes. And admitting to these mistakes will not make us less of the persons we are; it will show the human being that we all are. Remember, no man is perfect.

Not all people who end up being the best and eventually landing a job in an interview may be better than those who will not have been successful in that same interview. They just may be smart enough to be aware and therefore bring out better their strengths, and also know, acknowledge and turn around their weak points into a positive opportunity given chance. We sometimes miss out on golden opportunities in life due to failure in acknowledging our weaknesses, and therefore failure in putting an effort to improve on them.

A little encouragement will go along way...

I’m sure most of us feel really bad when we fail doing our tasks. Some of us can easily get over it while others can’t and become depressed for a period of time. I have seen some people who really have a hard time dealing with their failures in life. Some even call themselves a failure and it really doesn’t sound nice at all right? Honestly, I have been in that situation… I easily get depressed when I’m not able to finish a task or do it well. I feel I’m not good enough or worst, I feel I’m useless. Why am I talking about this? I don’t know. Maybe, there is one person among the million readers here who needs encouragement and might accidentally view this post.

I’m glad I have overcome that kind of attitude or perception. How did I do that? Of course, with the help of “the One” up there. Certainly when you come to know Him, your outlook or view in life changes along with your attitude. I’m not saying I feel totally invincible because, I have to admit, at times I still feel lonely or a little depressed or disappointed but the difference is, you know where to get strength or how to be revived.

I want to share something I do when I’m in that kind of situation. It’s simple as reciting “I can be the B-E-S-T!” B stands for, be aware of your strengths and weaknesses. By doing so, you will realize your limitations, why you weren’t able to finish a task or do it too well like others and you will appreciate your talents and abilities and enhance it more. You know what to focus, what area you can excel. You can show and share your skills or talents to others. E stands for, encourage yourself everyday. You have to encourage and motivate yourself first and not just wait for others to do it for you. It is more logical when you first believe in yourself before others can believe in you. S stands for, stand up after you fall. For sure you will not always get what you want or be successful in everything you do. Success in not measured by what you have achieved or accomplished but rather by the obstacles you have endured in life. You will only fail the moment you decide to give up. T stands for, trust God in everything you do. He has given us everything we need to overcome all the obstacles in life. He will work out His great plan for us whatever happens. And it is written in the Bible that, “we can do all things with God who gives us strength”. So if you’re in a seemingly depressing situation, just tell yourself “I can be the B-E-S-T!”

Make an effort to bring peace in your life rather than daily quarrels and chaos.

As they say best things in life always comes in small packets. It is unfeigned, as we should be blissfully happy about ourselves. Even in the rough phase of life, we should project our self for a better solution to it. That is why Here are three things you should ask yourself….

1. Who am i ? – basically, you all want to know this at some stage of life. try to find out a reasonable answer for it.ask yourself again and again. you will get the answer only when you are true to your own self.

2. What is my purpose for life ? – you should know your purpose for life, i.e. what are your main ethical views for an aim or purpose or objectives in your life ahead.

3. What are my strengths and weaknesses ? – As you climb ladder of success, there would be a chance to get tripped down. if you don’t walk properly. So note down what are your strengths and weaknesses. and remind yourself why are this my plus points and why am i lacking with weaknesses. Try to assess everything and make a balance out of it. so in future you are well prepared to handle any pressures.

Well as time goes by you will know more about yourself if you can figure out this main 3 questions about your life. To find happiness in your life, you should look within yourself that whether you’re happy and content with yourself or not…Take control of your life and decisions, so you never have to look back for what you lost out. mostly you have to believe yourself,if you believe in GOD then ask him why am i in trouble ?.. GOD exists, and if you have faith in yourself then probably you will know what i want to say. figure it out guys.

a change that is good,

a change which brings harmony,

a change which changes you for being yourself.

Think good.Think real.

Understanding how self motivation can help you succeed in all your endeavors and help you follow through with completing your ideas and goals that you have set to accomplish in your life.

Throughout our entire lives we are motivated by everyone around us. When we are young, we are motivated by our parents and teachers. We learn about words of wisdom and applied knowledge to help give us a solid platform to work on and grow with our own experience in life. We begin to learn about ourselves, our strengths, our weaknesses, and discover our own abilities. As we get older, we begin to admire and respect certain people that have made an impact in our lives. For some this could easily be your parents, teachers, mentors, and then the shift will focus on highly profiled individuals such as famous celebrities, religious figures, certain government elected officials, and successful entrepreneurs.

Having the ability to motivate yourself when others around you do not is crucial for your own success to continue. These moments of doubt, despair, and lack of faith can strike any moment and at any time. There are many naysayer’s out there, and jealous individuals, who will try to stomp on your parade, and your own success. Look at these encounters, as small steppingstones and obstacles, and ignore them, and push aside their sad commentary as you go boldly forward to the goals that you have set for yourself in life. They are not on the same path that you are traveling on and they are not your friends. Friends on the other hand are great allies, eagerly pointing out your skills, achievements, and praise you when you’ve done well.

The best way to motivate oneself is to discover your skills and abilities. What are your interests and what are your likes and dislikes? You can easily assess your own characteristics of personality and discover what type of person you are. It is true that certain people are born with a splash of character, but most people know and agree that character comes from gained knowledge, time-tested experience, and observation which lead to an amount of insurmountable wisdom, mixed with your own personal characteristic traits about how you view life and your place in it. Your personality alone can greatly determine how successful you are going to be in motivating yourself.

Discovering what your interests are, experience, long-term goals, and understanding the key strengths of your personality can help motivate you even in the darkest of times. Self-motivation is what keeps us going and is a must-have tool for entrepreneurs who want to be successful, organized, savvy, and strive for excellence. Determining your skills, strengths, room for improvements, and really tapping into your creative side can greatly fuel your motivation level, and guide you to the optimum platform to release your ideas and sets all your goals in motion.

The road to self-motivation starts with you and keeps you on your desired path to reach your final destination, which is the creation of your goal, dream job, artistic endeavor, finishing that novel, building that house, saving and investing your hard earned cash, tuition for college, helping the needy, the poor and the sick, imparting wisdom and knowledge to others, to reaching as far as the moon, anything is possible, and most importantly to yourself and your own entrepreneurship of life in general. Having self-motivation is very much like having faith in your own abilities to see your creation fully accomplished. It is said that motivation and faith can create a paradise where there was once a desert, and that is surprisingly true. Self-motivation is a push that keeps you focused and faithful to your desired goal.

Five real life people with amazing abilities...almost SUPERHUMAN!

1. The man who never sleeps

Thai Ngoc is a Vietnamese man who has claimed he has been awake for 33 years after having a bout of fever in 1973. He is 68 years old and lives in Trung Ha Village, Que Son District of Quang Nam Province. There have been investigations performed on him by a popular Vietnamese news organization who have discovered he has no apparent side effects from this…and in fact was able to carry two 50KG bags down a 4KM Road!

2. Magnetic man

Liew Thow Lin is a resident of Malaysia and is often named the Magnetic Man as he has the odd ability to literally stick metal objects to his body. It is recorded that he can lift up metal objects weighing up to 2KG each, in fact he even pulled a car using this ability! And scientists are still amazed on how he can do this!

3. The man who has not eaten for 70 years

Prahlad Jani is a Indian yogi who is 82 years old. He has made claims he has not eaten anything in 70 years, this claim was tested when doctors put him in an observation for 2 weeks where he did not eat or drink anything…and guess what…he was perfectly healthy!

4. The dude who can eat anything!

Michel Lotito was a french man who was popular for eating indigestible objects such as metal, glass, rubber and much more!

He has eaten things like bikes, televisions and even Airplanes…and he did not seem to suffer any ill effects! The first time he began to eat these strange objects were when he was around 9 years old.

5. The boy who can see using his hearing/sonar

We’ve all heard of bats using eco-location to see through caves and things like that, for those of you that do not know eco-location is a system used by many cetaceans to navigate, orient themselves and search for food. It is accomplished by sending out sounds and interpreting the echoes produced. But this boy along with a few other people are able to do this too!

Both of his eyes were removed when he was 3, and he developed a extraordinary ability to see using sound, he can hear and sense where objects are without having to see them, this has enabled him to drive bikes, and walk without any guide dogs.
