Telling the story, Dr R Palani said he had received a call from collogues from the emergency and came straight to the hospital. As soon as he arrived, he noticed that the man’s hand was hacked with one blow and believed it had just happened seeing that the blood was still squirting out from the arm. He added that they quickly informed the police and requested for the rescue team to search for the missing wrist. According to him, after waiting for half an hour, the police informed them that they had failed to find the hand; the victim then insisted that the doctors should go and look for it themselves.

The dark surrounding and clues that was given by the victim were not much help since they were only got their mobile phone light to guide them. For the time being, the victim is stable and is still receiving physiotherapy treatment to ensure his newly attached hand can function well.  Meanwhile, the Assistant Commissioner denies the doctor claimed saying the authority did not took action after being informed about the incident by the security officer who was at the location.  

He also added that the delay happened due to the information that was given was incorrect. Commenting about the incident, he said the man likes to help people in need and in this incident, the man stopped his car thinking these men and woman needed help with their car.

One of the suspects with an iron knife attacked the victim and tried to rob him before chopping off his hand. In a state where the hand had been chopped off, the victim ran to his car before quickly seeking aid. He also said his team had recorded the victim testimony and are now going over all closed-circuit cameras in the area.

I love crime thrillers, the grisly the better and as one of the baddies turns out to be reminiscent of the freak in Creep, complete with dark train tunnels and the odd rat, this book satisfied my appetite and then some. Stephanie Chalice (Cha-lee-see) is a formidable girl in blue, complete with hot body, penchant for gym sessions and an uncanny sixth sense which never lets her down. Team that with FBI Agent Ambler and her sexy partner, Lido and you have yourself a fantastic book. Realistic, gripping, gritty, this meaty story is easily one of the best books I have read for a while. My only regret is not reading the books in order. Not that this detracts from the story in any way, but I shall be checking out the other works in the series as soon as I can. Kelter is a master, pure and simple. Stephanie is right up there with James Patterson’s character, Lindsey Boxer, and we all know how strong a female she is…

It is quite normal to be concerned with the shape and size of your stomach. However, few people have pity on you if you have not tried to do something about the issue on your own first. You cannot sit on the couch everyday, rarely exercising, and then wonder why your stomach is not flat. In fact, if you tell your plastic surgeon that this is what you do, you will probably not be considered a good candidate for a tummy tuck. You typically need to at least try working out and eating right for several months or even years before considering surgery. In fact, you are expected to be near your ideal weight before you qualify as a candidate for this procedure, so be sure that you have tried everything to lose the flab before you ask for this operation. You may find that you do not need surgery after all, which would save you lots of money.

If you are a young woman who has not yet had children, your doctor will likely ask if you plan to. If so, you will probably not be a good candidate for a tummy tuck. This is partly because once you get pregnant, your abdominal muscles and skin will both stretch out to accommodate the growing unborn baby. While this is a good thing, it will completely undo the results of the tummy tuck, making it a waste of your money since you will need to get it done again after the pregnancy. Everyone knows the ongoing debate about using a cell phone or other electronic device while driving a vehicle.  But, did you know that a large number of medical professionals are using their cells during operations and other medical procedures?

According to a study conducted by researchers from the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, The use of a cell phone during serious medical procedures is not only extensive but also growing. 

More Than Half Use Cell Phones While In Surgery

For example, the researchers found that cells phones were used during “cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) … by 55.6% of perfusionists (the folks that handle the heart/lung machine during surgical procedures, among other duties).  What’s more, 49.2% of the same people admitted to sending text messages while performing CPB and accessed e-mail (21%), used the internet (15.1%), or checked/posted on social networking sites (3.1%) while performing their duties.

The researchers presented a 10-question survey to 439 medical professionals, mainly perfusionists.  Strangely, more than 78 percent of the same medical professionals who admitted to using electronic gadgetry while doing their jobs said they thought there were “significant safety concerns” if they used such equipment and that doing so “introduced potentially significant safety risk to patients.”  You would think knowing of the dangers would make them stop using their cells and other electronic toys.  But, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Admit To Being Unsafe

Even more strange, even though the vast majority of the respondents said it was risky to operate and text, or whatever they were doing, only 42% and 52%, respectively, said using a cell phone or text messaging was “always unsafe.”  Wouldn’t everyone in an operating room think this practice was unsafe?  What about the others?  Did they think they could do an adequate job of operating the heart/lung machine while accessing their Facebook page?  These are probably the same people you see on the freeway – driving while texting, reading the morning paper and applying their makeup or shaving at the same time.  But only 7.3% of respondents who said it was unsafe to use their cells while in the operating room admitted that the practice negatively affected their performance.

In the U.S. recently (2011), the federal government suggested that use of electronic devices while driving should be banned.  Although one would never have thought to worry about the same issue while they were “under the knife” in a hospital, perhaps it’s time to put out the word – doctors, drop the cell!
