In this article I will discuss Economics of Economic growth and the inadequacies of Economic growth theories and Current Economic thought regarding the drivers of Economic growth.

In the mainstream Economic theory, it is assumed the growth of knowledge is independent of the Economic system. However, this assumption is considered transparently false as per many modern Economists. In addition, some Economist also in their point of view the static models of the mainstream Economics lacks convincing explanation of growth and dynamic change in any economic system. The mainstream Economic models recognize the central role the growth of knowledge in economic development. However, they have practical problems in incorporating the growth of knowledge in their Economic models.

It is also recognized by many Economists that the growth of knowledge is not a mechanial process and it is not adding a parameter of knowledge to the aggregate production function to get a sensible growth model in the mainstream economic theorizing and its economic models. For example ‘ Cambridge capital Controversies’ have shed light of the incoherence of measuring capital and insurmountable problems in measuring capital. That is, the concept og aggregate production function and the empirical work based on it is unhelpful according to many modern Economists regarding economic development and growth. In this regard, Lipsey an Economist point of view he beliefs that the mainstream aggregate production function and equilibrium models in the Neoclassical economic models or the the New growth models have limited assistance in studying long-term economic growth.

As per George Shakle, it is convincingly apparent that any future is unknowable, as well it involves a cascade of possible futures, undermining the possibility of calculable probabilities and so called rational analysis. There fore in the context of government policy regarding long-term economic growth needs considering the uncertainty of future outcomes needs considerable practical judgement. That is, the lack of plausible explanation of dynamic change and growth of knowledge, according to some Economists the current models is not helpful in formulating policies regarding economic growth.

As per current statistical studies even though they have practical difficulties in collecting data and formidable conceptual data issues, that economic growth is heavily dependent on innovation, knowledge development and skill formation. That is, technological development and innovation is identified accordin to these studies that underpins long-term sustainable ecomic growth. In other words, comparative advantage indeed is created and it is not due to physical capital itself. Economic development is a contingent process and it originates in clusters. In addition, as per Weber and North, economic development is heavily dependent on the risks involved in technological development and the sharing of risks and the institutions and beliefs which encourages trust and initiatives by all groups in society. That is, long-term economic development is heavily dependent on appropriate technological development and knowledge growth in society, which are major factors of long-term economic growth and it explains the the uneven growth levels of many economies in the world.

In conclusion, the the economic growth or long-term economic growth not only depends on comparative advantage from physical capital but heavily path-dependent and mostly due to technological development, knowledge development or growth and proper institutional mechanisms and beliefs encouraging innovation and creativity by all groups of society and above all sharing the risks equitably in society, these risks which are the major determinants of long-term growth.

TECHNOLOGY FOR SOCIA-ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL DEVELOPMENT OF NIGERIA

The impact of technology on the life of every human being has been quite dramatic first it was the industrial revolution which profoundly altered the surroundings and between fellow human being surroundings and between another revolution, the information revolution which apart from dramatically affected all other technology systems will through this, impact greater influences on the socio-economic and political well being of all nations.

There is no doubt that technology is basic for the positive socio-economic and political development of a nation. Nigeria needs to apply appropriate technology to achieve this developmental goal. In this regards also, the potentials of the new concept of information technology should be fully utilized.

In the entire process, technology will have to be devised, adapted, modified or refined to suit relevant local needs. It is recommended that government should therefore, encourage and sustain research and development efforts in this research and development efforts in this direction through adequate funding and provision of enabling environment.

Is it possible to create a humanoid robot that has a soul and emotions?

Science and technology is starting to delve into the possibility of creating a humanoid robot that can feel, think and act in the same way as any human. They are experimenting on the human brain, linking robotic hands to our brain synapses, creating full models of humanoid robots that are now in the beginning stages in their design, now taken on as a technological challenge. What is to become of this technology in the future and to what limits will we take our exploration into the arena of creating humanoid robots?

Technology and science certainly offers us innumerable comforts within our world, not to mention lifestyle changes, especially when it comes to people who have extreme medical conditions and need the help of science and technology to live comfortable within their everyday lives. The creation of robot limbs, helps to allow a person to walk again, the introduction of synthetic body parts, such as a heart pump can help a person to live longer. The technological changes certainly have their great benefits and the skies the limit when it comes to possibility of what we can create in the future.

With every passing year we see new inventions coming into use, new electrical appliances, new scientific discoveries that change not only how we live life, but also how we view our life as a whole. Most see technology as a change for the better, something that can enhance our lives and bring to us a better way of living life with more comfort and time for recreation. Although we are at the beginning stages of the technology era, to how far do we go with our need to manipulate matter in order to make our environment better?

When it comes to the idea of humanoid robots this topic comes into the forefront, bringing forth the concept of ethics and reasons behind producing certain types of technology. Is it not enough to create electronic limbs in order to help a human live life, to enhance the lives of paraplegic people who can use electrical devices in order to do certain tasks? Why would we need to create a humanoid robot, if it is not only just to say that we have achieved this endeavor, to say that we are now able to create life, just as if we are god like and in control of all that we experience. Perhaps this is just an egotistical endeavor that might end up our own misfortune in the end.

This might be the number one fallacy of people who dream of such possibility, something that they might eventually one day have to consider. That it is not possible to create a life as it is done through creation, from synthetic parts that have no real life of there own. We experiment with life that has already been given to us, wondering how it is formed. However we do not form life from the core of all formation and that is where the problem lies. This fact only emphasizes the ill knowledge we have of our true origins and also to our lack of understanding of the mind and core of who we are.

We utilize our mind and the element of force in order to determine our life, but it is something we cannot recreate, the core of which we are, the soul, the thing that forms the whole of our energy and our perception of reality, for some seen as God, or for some this is called spirit. We cannot recreate spirit or life force that forms the whole of our personality, the spontaneous component of ourselves, that sees life through inspiration, desire and purpose. A robot can never have these things; it can never have true purpose, desire, inspiration or spontaneity. These things come from the core of who are, from our soul creation. They will never be able to be recreated with just material embodiment alone.

It was a number of years ago now that I started to have a series of dreams that relate to this issue at hand, to do with the ethics of creating such technology in our world. Although they are only dreams they deal with the fundamentals of where such technology can take us, and how it can become not only beneficial but destructive to our development in the future. These dreams look at extremes of possibility, if such technology were to be utilized in selfish ways, and this means in ways that are not necessary for the longevity of the human species as a whole.

The first dream I had many years ago, and it relates to the creation of robots for the use of human interaction, whether that be for physical help, emotional support or sexual desires. It also relates to changes within our bodies when it comes to manipulation we do ourselves on our biology and chemical makeup.

In this dream I was walking along a street of a city, it was dusk and I was watching the interaction of people around me as they went about their daily lives. In this dream technology was very advanced but in a more concealed way. Males and females were no longer in respect of each other from what I was seeing through their interactions. There was a lot of anger between the sexes and resentment for each others way of seeing life. The human population was dying out at a great rate, not only because of physical manipulation but also because of the introduction of human robots that gave controlled comfort to a person’s life. In this dream it emphasizes the fact that a robot does not need to fulfill any destiny or desires, but was being utilized to fill the desires of humans and their needs.

As the dream played out I saw snapshots of information coming from the minds of the people walking around me. They were showing me how their lifestyle was and how technology had impacted their whole world. There world was made up on disappointment and inward selfishness, that derived out of the non-appreciation for what life really had to offer at the core. In this life, I saw something that I even found peculiar at the time, that it was women in this world that really made the biggest impact.

They had in this life totally separated themselves from the need to have a man in order to be happy in life. They instead preferred the comfort of a robot man who would be there for them no matter what they needed or wanted. This was built purely from the fact that the woman in this world of my dream were unsatisfied with a males inability to be emotionally supportive of them. They wanted much more, someone to listen and to understand there needs and desires and this was given to them from the synthetic robot man, who would answer to every wish, who would never be late or forgetful, and who would always support them through all that they did, and sit and listen to them without a complaint.

This dream emphasized the impact of robots in a world that was psychologically and emotionally unable to cope with life at the basic level, let alone to have to confront the impact of their own decisions that was constantly being backed up by their own singular needs and greed based ethics.

The result lead to a decline in birth rate and a dying out of the human race, from the separation of society at the true core where new life is naturally created from, and that is between the man and woman. There was a loss of respect between the sexes that resulted in distrust and hatred. This occurred also because of the decreased birth rate of women in general, there was so much angst from the fact that this was occurring, making some women ask the question of whether they needed the man if they could no longer produce a child with them anyway.

The second dream I had some years later, and relates to the use of robotic parts within the already formed human body. In this dream I was in first person in a place that was a sort of scientific laboratory. I was walking past a set of rooms and I notice something strange happening to a man further up in the corridor. He was crouched down on the ground, as if he was in pain. I was watching this man from far away and after a moment he got up and proceeded to walk as normal as if nothing had happened. There was something weird about him, like he was empty inside, with no personality or expression within his body.

He walked as normal throughout this facility that I was situated in. In the dream I was a scientist and was working for some sort of drug research laboratory. When I watched him I could feel that he was different, but most could not see this, I knew, because he walked amongst humans as if he was normal and unseen. I could feel though that he had no spark of life within him, he had no soul or spirit, he was like a walking drone, and when I looked into his eyes I could see a small glowing red light and beyond this they seemed to be filled with total emptiness.

Not all could see what I was looking at, as I proceeded to ask my friends what they thought. Some could see through their senses but others not. What we saw was an increase of these walking drones which lead to increased discomfort amongst the humans, the ones that could see them. Just through the actions of these drones they were becoming very apparent amongst the humans, and on the increase.

It was at this stage that I asked my superior what we were going to do if we were to be faced with the same situation, if we were to turn into these beings. She came to me with a small package and put it in my hand. It was some sort of tablets that were to take my life in the most extreme of situations, if it came to the point that I would start to go through the changes.

Many people at the facility were starting to be taken away by these drones to a building that was setup specifically for their plans. It was a box shaped building with jets coming out of the ceiling spraying all the humans in the room, with a fine mist of some sort of liquid. The room housed 10-20 people, who were gradually led away one by one to another room to be changed into these drones. At this stage in the dream I could not understand what was going on and I went to try and walk out. As I proceeded to do so, one of the drones came towards me; he had the body of a male friend that I had known from my past. He told me that he wanted to talk to me and that he would tell me what was going on.

He took me into a small metal chamber where he proceeded to lie down in a vat of fluid and then he took the skin of his stomach and opened it up. Inside his stomach were these light blue fluorescent like tubes running down the core of his body. He proceeded to tell me who he was and what all of it meant.

These beings were robots utilizing the bodies and brains of humans in order to survive. They had a core electromagnetic system that worked along the lines of a solenoid coil. It powered them internally and stimulated the body to move electrically. These core modules were set into the stomach area and they linked into the spin directly into the brain, utilizing the memories of the previous human’s body. What this meant is that the human had already died, and their soul and spirit had left the body, leaving only the human casing that the robot was able to utilize.

The robot told me of the problems they had to adapt in these human bodies, and how they needed to soak in these vats of fluid in order to sustain the body for a longer period of time. They were having problems with sustaining the organic components of the human, and they were gradually deteriorating, meaning that they would need to utilize more and more human bodies over time.

This meant that there would be much more death for humans now that they were taking over this world. The humans were being taken over by a computer that systematically took electrical memories from their brain as their own. Although they could talk quite reasonably, they did not have the same mental capacity to understand complex thought patterns. These robotic beings were very systematic and ordered in their logic and had no room for spontaneity or creativity. They just needed to survive in their programming and what they were doing to the human in the process was not even considered on an ethical basis. They had no ethical values or logical reasoning even after taking on the memories of humans, because they were programmed to utilize the human’s thoughts without understanding human emotions. Human emotions are far too complex for a computer to ever learn.

The third dream I had around a year ago and in this dream I was again walking the streets of a small town somewhere where it was very rural. In this town was an area that was considered the town centre with shops and buildings around. Again in this dream I was viewing from third person as the first dream, watching what was going on around me, as if I was invisible. They had investigators in this town searching for signs of something that was occurring there. Peculiar things were going on in this town and they were having trouble finding any clues. I walked up this street there until I came towards a public toilet area. I noticed there a woman being coaxed into the toilet by what was presumed to be her boyfriend.

I know that she did not know this man, but he was doing something to her to make her think that she knew him, and she went with him into a toilet block that was secluded and empty of people. When moving into the building, I watched as this strange man was undressing this woman and he proceeded to place his hands on her upper spine as small little pipes came out of the end of his fingers gluing onto the surface of her skin. He was doing something to her, and at this point I realized that he was not human but a robot of some sort.

Whatever he was doing to this woman was influencing her thoughts and she was in some other place, like she was drugged, and he proceeded to complete his work. He was transferring some sort of information to her into her spine, via some sort of electrical charge and chemical transference. I noticed after a short time that when she was to walk out of this toilet building, she went back to her normal state unaware what had happened to her. She had no recollection of any events having taken place.

What this dream shows is the possibility of synthetic or robotic beings influencing over our body, which can be utilized for all sorts of horrible things, especially when it comes to warfare and secretive investigations. These beings were able to influence over a person physically, disconnecting their link to their own mind for short periods of time, taking over the body as if they were puppeteers.

This dream only emphasizes even more the possibility such technology can produce and how it can impact our lives, ethically, emotionally and physically. If such a thing could be created it would not only limit our free will but it would also take away the experience of life for us, changing the face of our stored memories and physical actions.

This sort of technology would never come to any good and it would only ever be used in warfare, to infiltrate places without being noticed. To do illegal experiments without people remembering what took place. There is no ethics at all involved if technology were to ever get to this level, to be able to affect our whole physical experience, manipulating even the way in which we experience life.

These might just be dreams, however they really emphasis the importance to think through technology and its implications. Ninety-nine percent of people would never want to see technology to reach to these levels of application, especially if it meant the destruction of their whole reality.

What could then ever be the purpose to create a humanoid robot otherwise? They could never take the place of a human. Never show love that was not programmed or systematic in its approach. They could never feel or experience things from the core of creation, and would be empty always without a soul or purpose for their own life. Their purpose would be our own doing, their drive would be programmed by our own hands; their life always lived to do our bidding, forever a tool to manipulate with.

Yes a computer is an appendix that we can use to better our life. It is an attachment to our own nature to broaden our own experiences. An appliance is something that can help us with tasks, a machine something that gives us more free time for other physical things. Technology should be used to better our experience, and not lead to our detriment in the end.

Is it possible to create a humanoid robot that has a soul and can feel with emotions…no.

Is it possible to create a robot that looks human that can do things for us in a systematic fashion…yes.

Is it possible for a human to create technology that is destructive in nature…most certainly yes!

Is it beneficial in the long term for us to create such technology that can harm us…most definitely not if we hope to continue in our physical experience!

Things always start out with an innocent notion, a robot at a technology festival that moves and talks is a spectacle to see. It is what such technology leads to on a manipulative level that it then becomes no longer an enhancer of our lives, hindering us rather than creating more possibility.

Let us hope that these dreams remain as dreams, and that they do not become our reality.
