Turkey Expels Senior Israeli Diplomats.

Turkey is ordering all senior Israeli diplomats out of the country by Wednesday in a deepening rift between the 2 countries.

The move comes when Turkey last week expelled the Israeli ambassador and downgraded diplomatic relations. Israel refuses to apologize for the deaths of eight Turkish citizens and a Turkish-American throughout last year’s Israeli raid on a shipload of aid headed to Palestinians in Gaza.

Israeli airline passengers complain they were detained and questioned by Turkish authorities at the airport in Istanbul Monday while Turkish citizens complain of comparable treatment in Tel Aviv. Some tourists from each countries say they were strip searched which their passports were temporarily bumped off.

Also Monday, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met in Ankara with Palestinian official Nabil Shaath. Davutoglu said Turkey would push for recognition of a Palestinian state at the United Nations General Assembly. Israel and also the us oppose such a move.

A United Nations report said Israel used excessive and unreasonable force when commandos boarded the help ship last year. however the report said the raid was legal because of Israeli concerns that the ship was carrying arms to Palestinian militants. The report said Turkey and {also the} flotilla organizers were also answerable for the deaths of 9 people.

Shed and estimate the position paper issued by "Arab Centre for Research and Policy Studies," light on the movement of protests in Israel in the recent period.

Shed and estimate the position paper issued by “Arab Centre for Research and Policy Studies,” light on the movement of protests in Israel in the recent period.

And stop at the motives that animated the events leading to future prospects, and their impacts on the options of the Israeli government to force them to re-adjust the economic and social policies away from previous policies, which gave the security aspect of paramount importance Come with some voices call for reconsideration of the settlement policy.

The paper, titled “motives and prospects of the protest movement in Israel,” that the protest movement taking place in Israel since mid-July last as a precedent than ever, not in terms of size or continuity in terms of the quality of the labor involved.

Has confused the protest movement – which began putting up tents in one of the major fields in Tel Aviv to denounce the high cost of apartment prices – especially with the Securities politicians took the momentum and increase the numbers of demonstrators who have attained in a demonstration about three hundred thousand demonstrators.

It is well known that segments of the Israeli middle class is initiated and the current protest movement, unlike the previous Israeli protest movements by the oppressed segments of the Sephardi Jews against the backdrop of ethnic discrimination against them.

Movement protest the current due to the erosion of the ability of the middle class to face the financial burdens of life due to the high cost of living sharply in the various requirements of the basic life and necessary for housing, food, clothing, drink, transportation, telecommunications, electricity and gasoline, cars and other consumables necessary.

The paper that the roots of the crisis due to the socio-economic policy pursued by the Israeli governments for more than two decades, marked by the abandonment of the welfare state approach and followed a free economy, privatization and reduce spending on public services such as education, health and housing.

Affected in Tahrir Square
See the editors of the paper that the pioneers of the movement of protest Israeli affected are can not be ignored revolution in Cairo’s Tahrir Square, in terms of the emergence of this movement and the form chosen for the organization, assembly, and the nature of the forces involved and the role of opposition parties in support and is the leader, especially with a statement by some activists are clearly the impact of scenes Tahrir Square in them.

Has insisted the protest movement since its inception until today to limit the demands in the socio-economic issues only, without addressing the political issues, particularly the Palestinian issue, in order to maintain the unity of their ranks and avoid anything that would make a division between the groups is not homogeneous, which it has acceded.

Did not submit the protest movement is the list of specific demands, but merely claims to fundamentally change overall in the policies of the government’s economic social, and called on the repeated statements of the leaders of the movement to state intervention in economic life and to reduce the gap between segments of Israeli society and to create social cohesion solid based on the response to the economic and social rights of the class Central and the poor and vulnerable in Israeli society.

She also called to fight price hikes and the imposition of government control on prices of basic materials and make housing available to various segments of society and raise the minimum wage.

Continue the protest movement of Israeli activities in the past, which dominates the modern and the public debate in Israel, and can not predict even now when and how it will end.

The paper stresses that the prospect of Israeli protest movement is limited to the Jewish Zionist state of Israel. It is a movement stemming from a society of historical migration and settlement, and built itself at the expense of others and in the spirit of racism and lack of sense of pain and suffering of its victims are still locked in a battle against them directly.

And thus confined the protest movement itself in the community and a girl between them and the Palestinians in the wall to conceal her imagination and vision to address the suffering, in time for justice, equality and prosperity for their own society and the Zionist framework.

However, keep the protest movement is important, and constitute an important challenge to the Netanyahu government and the extreme right, and take the seat of internal changes in Israeli society may lead to the crystallization of alignments political party in Israel lead to the weakening of the Alliance of the Likud, the settlers and the Haredim and Lieberman’s party, to the point where the camp opposes them win the next election. This depends on the ability of the movement to continue their protests and to maintain cohesion and to continue taking the lead.

Political conflict settlement
The paper notes that the new thing is that the leaders of the protest movement of themiddle class by calling in their areas and not across settlements in other areas likethe Galilee and Negev, as well as the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Thus, seeking the protest movement to solve problems and especially the problem ofhousing in cities and villages within the Green Line, while the government seeksalliance right to exploit the protest against the severe housing to push the affected groups of the middle class to seek a solution through the settlement in the occupied Palestinian territories, as far as tolerate or comply with the U.S. administration.

According to a member of the military in Tel Aviv, the soldiers, who were alerted to the borders with Syria and Lebanon where protests could take place, only fired warning shots.

Soldiers tried to have hindered the young to climb the fence by several warning shouts from a megaphone. A similar protest took place last month at the anniversary of Israel’s founding 63 years. Then, 13 people were killed.

Several dozen protesters gathered on the Golan Heights, captured by Israel with the West Bank and Gaza Strip in the 1967 conflict, where they protested with flags, shouting slogans and throwing stones.

Absolute peace in the Middle East will only be possible if a separate and free Palestine is carved out of the current dual state. The stumbling block to this initiative is not the ordinary Israeli as many would think but a myopic leadership led by the same old Benjamin Netanyahu. Should NATO invade Tel Aviv like they did Libya and kick him out?

The United States has been an obstacle to peace in the Middle East

There is only one stumbling block to peace in the Middle East and it isn’t Israel or its leadership, it’s the United States which has been the real obstacle not only in the Arab world but elsewhere on the planet. Israel owes its existence to the United States and other western powers and only these powers have ensured that it survives the onslaught leveled against it by Arab countries, some of which haven’t recognized the holy land’s very existence.

Image via Wikipedia

Middle East problem requires a political solution that must include a free Palestine

I have argued in the past, and forgive me if this was wrong, that the only solution to the Middle East problem lies in creation of a free Palestine with an accountable government that will be responsible for any acts of omission or commission arising from citizens within its borders. The current amorphous arrangement can not even be trusted to check its own citizenry leave alone preventing trouble for Israel.

Image via Wikipedia

Old Netanyahu is a stumbling block to peace in the Middle East

President Obama has of late bought the same idea of a free Palestine, and guess who doesn’t want this to happen, it is the same old Benjamin Netanyahu. He doesn’t want a free Palestinian state and for that reason thinks the pre-1967 borders suggested by Obama and like minded fellows like you and me are the problem. He has told off Obama in plain and simple terms to keep off Israeli affairs.

Image via Wikipedia

NATO should invade Tel Aviv and kick out Netanyahu

Can you guess what Obama will be doing? He will run away from the truth with his tail firmly hidden between his legs. Since it is Israel we are talking about, you won’t hear of sanctions, you won’t hear about withdrawal of aid, you won’t hear active disapproval from the ever hypocritical western powers, and neither will you see NATO invading Tel Aviv to kick out Netanyahu and push for a settlement that will guarantee peace!

Image via Wikipedia

The problem is not with Israelis but with the myopic leadership in place

The Israelis have no major problem with their Arab cousins, the ordinary Jew has the capacity to coexist with people of all races and creeds, but a leadership of the kind that is in place at the moment can not guarantee peace to anyone, leave alone Palestinians. Leaders such Ariel Sharon and now Netanyahu have a colonial mentality that wont go away in the near future unless the free world intervenes and shows them the door.

A walk on a Tel Aviv beach turns out to be more than expected as we run into a member of the endangered Green Sea Turtle family.

It was a picturesque night, walking along the main promenade in Tel Aviv. The Mediterranean Sea beneath the full September moon glistened. I was with my friend Joey here at about midnight, because neither of us could sleep, and we both needed a breather from a seemingly never-ending to-do-list.

Joey suggested a move from the cement to the sand, for a little variation, on the return leg of our stroll. While walking past many posh on-the-beach bars with beautiful colored lights and hip lounge music, I noticed something on the water line. I originally thought it was a trash bag or some other junk (even though Tel Aviv beaches are generally clean). Joey assumed that it could be a fallen satellite or who knows what.

A few steps closer, and we saw it was a sea turtle! This is an exciting moment, because Green Sea Turtles are a very rare sight in Israel, especially in such a populated area. There are only a few thousand in the Mediterranean Sea, and their main breeding grounds for the region are in Croatia, not here. They are an endangered species throughout the world, and even more sparse in the Mediterranean area.

Unfortunately, this exciting visit by our lovely friend was for a not so lovely reason. Further evaluation brought to our attention that she was missing an entire front flipper, and part of the remaining bone was still sticking out. There was fishing line wrapped all around it, and the line also went to her mouth, which led us to believe she might have a hook stuck.

Immediately, we called the 106 service number for the Israel Nature & National Parks Protection Authority. A dispatcher took the basic information, my phone number, and within minutes a man named Yaniv called me back. Once he found out all he needed to know about our Green Sea Turtle, he rushed to her rescue, commanding us to stay and hang out with her until he arrived.

During that hour, we were trying every way possible to not allow her to go back into the water. If she did, she would surely die, if she ever made it fully out. She constantly tried to turn herself around towards the sea, as minimal amounts of water lapped against her barnacle covered shell. We found a muscular Israeli guy to pick her up out of the water and bring her to the dry area of the sand.

We talked to her, people walking by stopped to visit and inquire about this odd scene on the nighttime beach, and we even gave her a name.

Introducing, Yonah, the Green Sea Turtle. She is an Eighties baby, about 25 years old now. We decided on the name Yonah (English translation: Jonah), being that we were only a few minutes walk/swim from the Old Jaffa Port area, where the original Jonah, from the Bible, began his seaborne journey, and in the end, was saved.

Finally, Yaniv arrived to carry Yonah off to what will be her new home until she is taken care of and fully rehabilitated. Before bringing her to the truck, Yaniv took some awesome photos of Yonah.

Another random Israeli, named Boaz, assisted Yaniv and Joey in transporting her to the truck. She’s a quite strong young lady, with a strong spirit to match. She exhibited this to us openly, which we’re happy to see, because we know she will not only survive, but also succeed, when she is released into her natural habitat.
