The Desire to Work – Have We Gotten Lazy?

The desire to work is the cry of many thousands of people who complain that there is no work, that they are broke, on the street, living out of their cars, or are camping out in a friend’s or family’s basement. And yet, when we read about the Great Depression, we read about people (mostly men, it seems) roaming the land, desperate for any work they could find. The legendary apple sellers in New York City come to mind. Where are they?
