Selection of topic for research paper or dissertation is often a big problem. Let's make it resolve.

While selecting the topic of your dissertation, thesis or research paper, keep few things in mind

Your expertise

Your interest

Available resources

Current affairs

Select the topic on which you have enough information to get started. It would be very difficult to work on a topic you know nothing about. If you know about a problem, it will be easier to decide your RQs – the only thing you would have to review is whether your RQs have previously been answered. Even if you don’t know any particular problem, go for the topic related to the topics you are more aware of.

The next important thing is your interest in the topic and it is very much linked with the first point – we usually know about the things we are more interested in. Do not choose a topic which you considered to be boring, just because it is a “hot” topic.

Sometimes we know about an important problem and we are really interested to conduct research on it but we don’t have the resources available for research. It is difficult, I know, but do not select such a topic. For instance, an American student of International relations is interested in conducting research on Irani public opinion about their nuclear programme cannot conduct such a research if he/she does not have the resources to survey or interview a sample of Iranis. The other way to deal with this problem is to mold your topic, instead of conducting research on Irani public; the person can conduct research on people that migrated to USA from Iran. Again, the person must have contacts of at-least 2-3 Irani families living in USA for such a research.

If you are still confused and cannot decide your topic, review the recent issues of journals published on your subject and examine the topics on which recent studies have been conducted. That’s what I termed as “current affairs.” However, do remember the first three point while selecting any topic from the “current affairs”

All the success!

Students often face problem in planning their dissertation - they don't really know from where to start and where to end. Plan your dissertation as steps from initial review to final draft. Here are the steps you can easily follow.

Search the term “dissertation process” on Google and you’d find a bulk of literature on it. The process I am providing here is the process I use while writing dissertations for students. It’s quite a simple one and is more practical. In most of the literature you’d find the drafting of dissertation at the last step. However, each step, provided below, will end on a draft and the final step is the compilation of all drafts to make the complete dissertation.

Step 1: Select the Reseach Problem and Research Questions/Objectives

You cannot simply pick up a topic and start working on it. Selection of reserach problem should be based on:

Deciding the area of your interest

An initial review of recent issues of journals published on your decided research area

Selection of important unsolved problems or knowledge gaps

Once you’ve decided you the reserach problem, the next important thing is to list the important questions you want to answer and/or objectives. So you end with a draft of reserach statment, RQs and ROs.

Step 2: Critically Review the Recent Scholarly Literature

Here is the most lengthy and commonly known as the most difficult step of dissertation writing. Before searching the material, make a list of key terms from reserach questions and be foccused on it. Try to seeks answers of your reserach questions in the previous literature and do point out the reasons why the answers are not sufficiant to highlight the importance of your study.

Step 3: Plan the Methodology

While reviewing the literature, examine the method adopted by previous scholars for answering your reserach questions. Keep in mind, that the methodology of your reserach should be planned in accordance to your resources. For instance, don’t choose case study, if you don’t have acces to any organisation in the field.

Step 4: Collect Data

Once you have finally decided how’d you conduct the study, start collecting data. Data can be primary or secondary. It can be quantitative or qualitative. Whatever it is, take into account all ethical and legal consideration. Let me tell you one thing: This is the most enjoyable step of dissertation writing. Enjoy it!

Step 5: Analyse Collected Data

If your data is quantitative use proper statistical techniques, or graphs for analysis. If it is qualitative, you can use thematic analysis, grounded theory, discource analysis and many other analytical techniques. Once analysed, report your findings.

Step 6: Link your Findings with Findings Obtained from Literature Review

Once your findings have been finalised, link them with the findings you have reported during literature review. Do not just compare and contrast them, linke them – meaning one can be explaination of other or the other can be justification for the one. Don’t just do it superficially, note down all the links you have find and report them as a draft. It’s an important part of your dissertation

Step 7: Note the Limitations and Implications of your Findings

Each finding can have many limitations and implications. If your findings contradict the previous studies and you’ve failed to find the reason behind this contradiction, your findings is limited and caution must be applied while using it. Similarly, if you have found something that has not yet been found, its implication is for reseracher – they can conduct future reserach studies on it.

Step 8: Draw Conclusions

After thoughly discussing your findings – their relations with previous study, their scope, limitation, and theoretical and practical implications, conclude your reserch by answering your reserach questions.

Step 9: Write Introduction

This is important. Introductory chapter of the dissertation provides an overview of reserach so it should be write at the very end. You can tell your supervisor at the very start that you’d write this chapter after completing the reserach process and I am sure he/she will not object.

Step 10: Draft your Final Report

Now you have written the introductory chapter, you have a detailed draft of literature review and methodology, you have reported your findings and its discussion, you have written teh drawn conclusion as a chapter. Compile them all, format them as asked in your dissertation manual/students handbook and hurrah! you are ready to submit your work

I have planned use Triond as the platform to help the students from all over the world in writing their dissertations. In this article I've explained why I want to do so and how I would help the students.

I am working in an organisation for past two years that provide onine dissertation-writing services to the students of UK and USA. I’ve helped a number of students in writing their research papers, thesis, dissertation, reserach assignment and much more and I’ve found that majority of the students face similar type of problems while writing dissertation. Such students can easily save their money by learning few important things about dissertation writing and can proudly say that they have written their dissertation on their own instead of taking help from online service providers. Then, though my organisation do not cheat its customers, I know a number of organisations in this field that are earning a bulk of money by cheating students. They just develop a website, take orders for dissertation writing, provide plagiarised works to the customers, close their website and …… are no-where to find i.

I’ve long been planning to write for those students but wasn’t able to. However, after joining Triond, I’ve finally decided to use this as a platform for working on the plan. I would welcome all the querries on the subject and would love to help students in answering those querries.

Just about the most challenging issues for brand spanking new college students will be the need to publish legitimate essays and reports.

Just about the most challenging issues for brand spanking new college students will be the need to publish legitimate essays and reports. All students can get into school having written 000-188 nothing more than 280 phrase paperwork with simply adequate grammar. For these college students, English Comp and liberal arts programs will give you a whole new ballgame. It is usually anticipated that many long term school graduates will need to write many 9+ web page papers for the duration of the amount. While that may sound formidable to a few of you, fear not! Adhere to these straightforward writing strategies and you will probably do high-quality:

Pick an appealing topic: Unlike secondary school when topics are assigned you, ordinarily attending college you get to choose your personal. It’s very important which you select something as intriguing, notable and even private for you as you can. Your writing will probably be infinitely improved if it’s an interest that you can connect with and maybe even want to write about. For the flipside, think of the phrase “you can’t place lipstick over a pig.” By the same token, you are unable to create properly over a terrible 000-119 subject. Every other creating aspect flows using this.

Plan your work: Way too many students just take a seat and create and let the creating drive them anytime. This might are actually a way that labored for J.R.R. Tolkien, however i would not advise it for most writers. This commonly leads to rambling and tangents that will make an essay seem incoherent and lose any movement in one paragraph to another location. Instead, organize that which you mean to say and where you stand planning to say. Outlines are a fun way to ensure that your creating all suits in the overall framework.

Target the thesis: The thesis will be the single most important facet of a paper. Each and every subsequent position should be supporting the thesis, or supporting an area that is certainly 000-118 supporting the thesis, or…effectively, you receive the picture. The thesis is, in a sentence or two, what you will be trying to say with your writing. What exactly are you looking to convince people? Your bulk of the paper is telling the various readers why your thesis is valid and critical.

Adhere to grammar/citation guidelines: It doesn’t matter how superior your subject, strategy, and thesis are should you fill your paper with spelling and grammar errors. No one normally takes an unreadable paper severely. Deservedly or not, it displays inadequately not just in your creating, but also on the overall intelligence.

Proofread: Shockingly, a lot of students are really energized to kind the final word of the paper that they can contemplate it completed at this point. This might ‘t be more incorrect. It can be totally essential that all scholar proofreads their work (and ideally will get another person to get it done at the same time). This can ensure that the paper’s general readability and choice . writer has adhered to the first sort factors: Could be the thesis obvious? Does the paper stream in the thesis? Are there grammar 000-115 mistakes or spelling errors that should be corrected?

INTRODUCTION

A. Background of the Study

As international language, English has been used by most of the people of the world. So was Indonesia. Because of it, most of the countries are now adding English to the list of subject which is must be taught to the students. It is so ordinary that the students need to learn and acquire English as their second language. In Indonesia, English has been taught to the students since in elementary school. Considered to the fact that learning language is not as easy as maths so the government set a new curriculum of teaching English at the very begining level in order to introduce English to the young learners, so they will be able to acquire English from the teacher.

(Followed by Experts statement) = to strenght the paragraph

Related to the statement above, teaching English to the students in the begining level such in elementary school has been getting special attention from the teacher. In introducing the foreign language to the students, the teacher must be able to guide and give the students special attention and joyment to build the students’ attention. The teacher should be able to teach English at the certain age by selecting and observing the student’s characteristics so they (the students) will be able to practice and build expressions using English in thier daily conversation without feeling strange and shy.

(Followed by Experts statement) = to strenghten the paragraph

If we talk about English, is not just enough by telling about teacher-students interaction. There still so many terms should be included in explanation. One of terms which is taking an important role of Teaching-Learning-Process is Vocabulary. It is playing an important role of teaching-learning activity because it is the basic resource for the students to build and produce oral and written product of language. In other hand we may say that the students will never master Language without vocabulary.

(Followed by Experts statement) = to strenghten the paragraph

Every year ordering custom essays, which is becoming increasingly popular among students. Many potential customers consider custom writing services because it saves their time, helps them focus on their favorite subjects and provides more opportunities for personal development enables active participation in interesting activities besides studies. One of our authors opted to question the research on different approaches to essay writing. He took the story of his friend, who write to him about his experiences an essay for his English literature class:

… During my sophomore year of high school I was assigned to write an argumentative essay on any topic. I showed the first draft of the essay to my teacher. He read it carefully and then said: “This essay is not what I want.” I felt disappointed and angry. What’s wrong with my essay? Why did not he explain?

I came home and decided to read it again. The first thing that struck me was the introduction, the attention of the readers did not understand. My essay was about gender inequality and employment. I started with the description of historical events related to gender issues and to illustrate some facts do not explain, has the theme of my essay. Therefore, I revised the introductory paragraph of the essay offers striking statistics about progression of the inequalities between the sexes for certain jobs. The launch was interesting to read, because the facts recorded in the introduction to my essay from sources that are difficult to access and “announced” were not active were. Due to the uniqueness of the introduction of easy readers involved in the process of reading the essay, her desire was driven by their curiosity in the further development of my arguments.

However, my introduction was not perfect. The next item that I had to revise was my thesis statement. Thesis helps a reader to the main thing that a writer can focus on his / her essay to prove. It may seem simple, because the record before writing an essay your central idea and then immediately to gather information and build your written procedures in accordance with the main ideas. Nevertheless, the thesis statement that you have in your head is not persuasive in written form. It is important to remember that your thesis statement is not a summary of the article, which were assigned to write to you. On the contrary, it is your view on the chosen theme.

It should also have their own opinion, the opposite view and summary of the supporting facts, which are further presented in the paper. The question is how do you fit all these elements in a set of your thesis statement. It can take a long time. However, if you write strong thesis statement, you manage the presentation of the complex idea of your essay to be successful than simple text. It does not mean using simple vocabulary, rather, it means the development of convincing arguments and make your essay easier to read. The thesis statement in my article was: “According to sociological research, in multinational companies women have fewer opportunities than men for leadership positions to be hired.”

I thought it was a perfect thesis statement, but it was absolutely unacceptable. First, the thesis statement of my text was biased because they do not reflect the views of the opposing party. Moreover, the main points summarized not the idea of the essay in support of the thesis statement. So I revised the thesis sentence and wrote the following:
“Even though some researchers believe that the new show created perception of the role of women in modern society of equal opportunities for men and women, psychological indicators and sociological findings that women have fewer opportunities to be hired for senior positions in multinational companies.”

Finally I have my work on the thesis statement! The writing process went smoothly. I already had the structure of the essay in my head. First I took the first few sentences that explain the central idea of each paragraph in the main part of the essay. Later, I have my notes I took while reading useful literature on my topic and supplied each paragraph with the evidence that supports my arguments reorganized.

In conclusion, I summarized the main points and confirmed the thesis. I showed the second draft to my teacher and his only comment was: “I’m glad you learned how to write an essay.” …

Probably this story will remind you to get your personal experiences to write essays. The story is interesting, because these students themselves discovered the mistakes he writing the first draft of his essay. His knowledge came from practice. He was able to write a good essay, but he would spend less time for his improvement if he uses research and write essays on-line guide has.

Marketing dissertation is a research paper which enlightens the reader on a marketing quandary and its solution. It is based on detailed research of one or many marketing concepts and how they are applied in a situation-based scenario. Such a dissertation should be detailed, informative and analyze every aspect of the different marketing strategies involved, with providing a cordial resolution.

It takes hours of acute research in acquiring information for a dissertation and equal efforts are required in examining, evaluating it for framing the desired content. Even though, the writer has the free will to create a dissertation according to his skills, the language used should be strictly business yet creative.

A marketing dissertation can be categorized into various segments which are self-sufficing and simplify its intricate flow. They can be considered as standards in writing a dissertation although the outcome may differ due to different citation styles and language adopted by the writer.

Elements of a Marketing Dissertation

Contents

It is always commendable to index the elements of a dissertation so as to notify the readers about its components. This also helps the writer in organizing the content and put it in a logical progression.

Abstract

This part is a synopsis of the dissertation written for the reader to understand its gist. It is a condensed form of the entire research, procedures and methodologies involved in it with the solution offered or the outcome thus stated. An Abstract should be appealing and obligate the reader to go through the entire dissertation.

Introduction

This element introduces the following to the reader:

· Topic of dissertation

· Reason for its selection

· Aim and Objectives behind the research

This is where the writer starts to put down his study in ink. An introduction should be detailed and should not be ambiguous in its approach.

Literature Review

This is an account of studies published by academicians and researchers on the topic of the dissertation. The available data and relevant information lay the foundation stone of the research and also support it with factual details and well established theories.

Research Technique

Under this, the procedures and approach taken for the research are mentioned. It also includes the overall strategy of the study and the methods employed for collecting crucial data and vital information on the subject.

Ethical Issues

This element of the dissertation describes the methods of analysis, objectives of research and purpose of the study. This is also done to notify the usage of data mentioned under ‘Literature Review’ and propound any copyright or infringement issues thus faced.

Research Findings and Implications

This portion of the dissertation cites the relevance of the study with analyzing and appraising the outcome of the research. As detailed description is required to explain the results, this element acquires a large part of the dissertation.

Conclusion

Here, the writer ascertains that the aim of the research has been fulfilled and thus concludes the dissertation by providing a summary of the research with suitable suggestions.

Bibliography

Under Bibliography, the citation style adopted for the dissertation is mentioned with listing all the references inculcated in it.

Appendices

This includes statistical and pictorial representations, surveys and observations with references of consultations and conversations held for the research.

Composing a Marketing dissertation is a tough task but with proper planning and following standards, one can deliver excellent results.

The use of supplementary media when carrying out a presentation could be a big plus to your campaign and thus you need to get it right. Here is how.

Many colleges encourage students to make use of visual or auditory material when they are conducting their oral presentations. It makes the work a lot easy since the points which do not come out well when you are talking can be enhanced by the use of these devices. Remember that your thesis is such an important paper and therefore you cannot afford to mess around with the presentation. Students only need to be briefed about how to go about it prior to the presentation. The following basic rules will explain why and how you can do this.

· These devices encourage the audience to be attentive to what you are saying and be able to remember the same. This is especially the case when your slides are well designed and have some eye catching graphics. Do not overdo the graphics though; you might end up diverting their attention to them.

· For those students who are rather shy, this will help divert the eyes of the audience from looking at you to staring at something else. This way, you don’t get intimidated.

· The common supplementary media will include slides, hand-outs, segments on video tapes and overhead projections. All these are used differently and the choice to use any particular one of them will depend on the allowance provided by the department, the time allocated to you and convenience. Some students find printing of hand outs a hectic job and would rather just do with slides.

· Ensure that the materials you choose to use are unique and interesting. Just be sure that it is relevant to your topic of focus.

· Learn the working mechanics of the material you will be using early enough. It can be embarrassing when you start presenting and then it turns out you are unable to use some of them e.g. putting slides upside down will show that you did not prepare yourself properly for the presentation.

· Arrive early enough so that you have ample time to set up the equipment. It might require some time for you to be able to arrange all your slides in the order that they are supposed to come and also put in place other necessary adjustments.

· Direct your audience accordingly whenever you are transiting from one method of presentation to the other. Oral presentations can be just as hard as writing a term paper or conducting research on a given subject.

You need to be well prepared before stepping onto the stage for an oral presentation. Here is how to go about it.

Stepping onto the stage and presenting your findings about a research paper can make you a bit jittery if you are not used to it. With proper practice and preparation you should be able to come through without any hitches. Take note of the following when you are about to take to the stage

1. Be among the first people to sign up

Having your name listed amongst the first people to present their findings will deny you the chance to assess other peoples’ strengths and weaknesses so that you can work on them but it gives you an opportunity to come out as original. Delaying your presentation may lead to someone else grabbing the idea you thought was good enough and that you could have used.

It is also good to present your work early in the semester before the work load becomes too much. Once you have gotten the oral presentation out of the way you can be able to have ample time to concentrate on other issues. Research paper writing is important, so give it the attention it deserves.

2. Know what is expected of you

Get information about the presentation well in advance. Some of the issues that you have to ensure that you are clear about include: the time that has been allocated for your presentation, whether you are allowed to read from a text during the presentation or not, if you are meant to distribute copies of the presentation to the audience prior to the presentation itself, whether you will be allowed to use other media devices such as slides or not. You may also want to know if you are free to come up with your own style of presentation or if you have to stick to one particular style that has been agreed upon.

3. Be careful with the choice of the topic

Settle on a topic that will afford you the chance to twist it to a narrow and clear angle for ease of research and presentation.

4. Ensure that the scope of your research is well defined

Gather as much information as you can and then cut it down to what is necessary for the presentation. It is better to have a lot of information than finding yourself standing at the front with nothing to tell the audience. Just be careful not to prepare a full length essay that will result in time running out on you.

The internet can be an important resource when carrying out research. However, there are basic rules to be observed.

The internet is a wash with information, both relevant and irrelevant. As much as it is a valuable resource to use when conducting research it requires a lot of care when quoting information that you have stumbled upon. The following checklist will provide some much needed help to users of the internet.

o Reliability of the content in that site

Make it your business to establish how reliable the content you are reading is. You can establish this by attempting to find out if the information is factual. Since there is a high chance that the same information exists in printed sources, you can compare the two for authentication purposes.

Another method that you can use to verify the originality of the information is by checking if the sources have been stated. You have the right to know if the information has been borrowed from some other source or not. Do not forget to check the depth and substance of the information.

o How current the site is

Many posts on the web are dated. One of the advantages of working online is that you come into contact with the most recent information. You need to ascertain that the site is current or at least it is updated regularly. A good indicator will be the links found in the content of the site. If the links are broken it could be a sign that the site is not worthy your time. Researchers who are working on such critical papers as dissertations particularly need up to date information.

o The targeted audience

Depending on your level of study, ensure that the sites you are consulting have information that befits your status. If you are handling a technical subject, do not visit sites that are meant for elementary subjects.

o To whom the site is affiliated

The reputation of the organization to which the site is affiliated says a lot about the site. Check who the sponsors of the site are and do not forget to verify if the information in the site conforms to the views of the people to whom it is affiliated.

o The authority of the site

It is also necessary that you get to know the name of the author of the site. Check that his qualifications are not shrouded in mystery and he is suitably qualified in the area he claims to have knowledge in.

Websites can be useful to scholars who are writing their research papers if and only if the information is beyond reproach.
