Rumour has it that singer Cheryl Cole intends on dropping her surname in the future. She is widely known for her name and would dropping the Cole make a difference to her career. Here's why I think she should keep it.

In February 2010, following the break up of her marriage to footballer Ashley Cole, there was a lot of talk in the media of Cheryl Cole reverting back to her maiden name of Tweedy. At the time I wrote a letter to The Sun newspaper that Cheryl should leave her name as Cole as it was more popular with her fans, image and sounded a lot better than Tweedy. I also stated that Tina Turner did this after her divorce from Ike and it certainly did Anna Mae Bullock no harm.

A frame from the video of “Promise This”, where Cheryl Cole appears in a Madonna-esque black leotard. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Now as Cheryl prepares to release her third solo album there’s talk of her dropping her surname altogether and becoming just Cheryl. Why, I ask? Stars including Madonna, Sting, Shakira Rhianna, Prince, and Adele started out with their mononym statuses and will remain known to the public as so throughout their careers. Cheryl may hate being connected to her former husband, but believe me girl it works and its what you will always be called by the public whether you drop it or not!

Puff Daddy changed his name to P-Diddy, then Diddy and God knows what he refers to himself these days but to me and a majority of his fans he’s still Puff or Puffy. Prince changed his name during his war with Warner Brothers to an unpronounceable symbol in 1993. The media called him TAFKAP (The Artist Formerly Known As Prince) but everyone still called him Prince, although I suspect they didn’t dare in his presence. The point of the matter is change doesn’t work in the celebrity world (unless its a bit of plastic surgery here and there) the public know what they know.

Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole during filming of the London auditions for the seventh series of The X Factor. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

This name change could be just talk or a possible PR spin but Cheryl should focus on her music. After the US X Factor drama last year and her fall out with TV supremo Simon Cowell, Cheryl needs to step out of the shadow and into the light to prove to her critics she’s more than just a pretty faced one-time TV judge. She can change her name to Cocka Danny Doo but when it comes to album sales and touring, its Cheryl Cole her fans will want to see.

Could your given name be holding you back in life? Some fanmous people changed thier names, with spectacular success, but is there anything to it really?

Would the name Reginald Dwight stick in your mind? Probably not, but then again, that isn’t who this man is known as. He needed something special to kick off his pop career, and today we all know, without thinking, who Elton John is. It seems, however, that making a change to one’s name without knowing what the letters of the new name mean may not have the effect desired!

There is a highly successful name analyst, 49-year old former health supplement salesman, who maintains that changing your name really can change your life. Would Harry Webb – Cliff Richard – agree? This man, Laurence Payg – originally Laurence David Adams – ‘The letters in Payg have proved more positive, and have a higher profile’ – first began researching names as a hobby, ten years ago, after finding a very old book on name analysis, which was untitled.

Apparently, the system involved – which bears resemblances to numerology, though Payg says it differs greatly – was reserved for various royal families, in ancient times. At the birth of a new royal, astrologers would draw up a birth-chart, and study it carefully. A name would be chosen which accentuated the positive in that chart, and would be given at a special ceremony.

Over seven years, Payg found that his hobby was taking over his life, and decided to make a profession of it. Having analysed his own name, using the system, he found that it was strangely accurate in its assessment of his own life and personality. Three years were spent developing the technique on family and friends, and he now advises businesses as well as individual clients.

Payg takes the full name and date of birth of each client – all legal names are included, even maiden, married or middle ones that you don’t use – and assigns a number from 1 to 9 to each letter. The numbers are then added up and interpreted. He says“My use of this system enables me to accurately predict general trends and events of a subjects life. Using my practical advice and guidance, they can make the good events even bigger and better, but keep the bad ones smaller and under their own control.”

You may be surprised to think that your career progress could be determined by this ancient – and once exclusively royal – naming system, but it appears that many employers are happy to consult Payg on staff selection. He says that the system can reveal strengths and weaknesses, as well as potential for success. Many business people find it invaluable.

To quote some examples of what he says about certain names – Alans are normally active but tend to focus on themselves – Brians are quiet introverts who like to stay in the background ( apparently they make excellent thieves!) – names starting with J are bossy – an H indicates stress and strain – N five years of loving conditions – Y seven years of success, and G is for gains.

Anyone who talks to Payg will be surprised at the depth of his knowledge and insight. Though he admits that he can’t work miracles, he believes in his ability to make suggestions that will prove beneficial “I am not convinced that we should all suffer and struggle in life. People were put here to do the things that make them happy, and if a name is hindering them, then I’ll advise them to change it, and make the right things happen.”

If you decided to change your name following analysis, there are three methods, though Deed Poll is recommended as the most effective. A) By declaration, with a solicitor – they may be reluctant if the only change you want is to add a single initial.

B) By adoption. Payg says that it takes five years to effect life changes using this method.

C) By deed poll. Proper forms can be obtained from law stationers. Must be dated and signed in both old and new names, witnessed by two people over 18. Photocopies must go to anyone who has records of you, and the original safely stored.

Anyone can appreciate that it might seem ridiculous. To suggest that you haven’t done better in life, just because of their name, but would Annie Mae Bullock ever have had the same sex-appeal as Tina Turner? I think not. If nothing else, it might be worth making that call just to find out if such a move could change your life. In the long term, it may just prove to be money well spent.

Speak When Alllowed.

For some reason Chris Brown is being use as the poster boy for abusive relationships. Where all the oppose rs when Bobby Brown, James Brown was allegedly pounding upside their lovers and spouses and we know according to Tina Turner, the master of the club the late Ike gave her a bruising.

But we only know Rhianna side of the story and poor Chris is suffering from not getting his side told in a national format. From what he have apologized for on BET, most national news hadn’t bother to show completely.

Rhianna, went on Barbara Walter, in a comfort zone of her own to speak her side, as if it was a public relation move since she does have an album coming out. But his side remains to truly be heard she must hold a fifty percent blame for what occurred. No one ever talk to the man to see what trigger their reaction or rage to strike.

Many have tried the walk away approach just to have a hound hounding you with her mouth with each step you take. Just as a parent with a child hit the other after been told to leave them alone. We take the child side who struck the other by saying you provoke the reaction to the action you started.

I admit Chris, is lousy as apologies from all corners. It looks like he’s not sincere and he might be but to say he wish they could have kept what happen private doesn’t attract sympathizers to you. But if you lay the truth out and truly accept the honest reaction he might be able to alert people that the side Rhianna gave wasn’t as truthful, as she spoke it to be.

The man can’t suffer any worst, then regular individuals who plead bargain their cases by doing community service.

For the last year and one half, I have been with a man that I knew that I shouldn't. Not because he was bad, but because we were incompatible.

I feel like this fine woman drinking this wine in the photo to the left. I am pretty private about details of my relationships, but I am an open book. I know that is an oxymoron, but true never-the-less. One year and a half is not very long, but it is not short lived either. I am writing this article out of pure hurt, but hoping that I can put within it some pure wisdom.

I read an article on Oprah dot com about Abusive Men. I was a bit afraid of my love and didn’t want to know why I felt this fear. Even though he never showed any physical signs of abuse out of the 16 on Oprah’s list my love only did not have four of the red flag signs in his character. When I read that list, I was not even surprised that my love might even be capable of such a thing as abusing me. In a way he already mentally was.

Being the alpha woman that I am, I always got him back, like Tina Turner did in the limo that night with Ike. I don’t mean physically, because one of those battles had not yet come. He has not laid a hand on me. I am almost sure that was what my future held.

Here are a few questions that I had when contemplating this final break up for more than a year:

How can I leave when I new he/she was like this from the beginning?

It is natural to feel like you have to give someone a chance, especially if you knew what their attitude was like at the beginning of the relationship. Surely, you thought that you could handle it and everything would be okay. But as the relationship goes on you find that it is too much for you to handle and you want out.

As much as human being desire change for the better, we often don’t find ourselves worthy of that change. Far worst, we are afraid of change. Because what if change leads me to something or someone worse than where I started? Then you must have courage.

Courage is when you are afraid to move, but you still advance forward. You see, I am not declaring fearlessness. I am proclaiming courage.

Maybe your love is not hurting you on purpose. That is an excuse that I gave myself for a long, long time. “He’s just like that.” I said. My family even started to say, “You, know how he is.” when I would complain. This excuse won’t be very potent for long. You will have to create new excuses for staying after a while.

You can do anything that you decide to do. This is going to be the theme for this article: Decision.

But he/she needs me. What will he/she do without me?

To be real, first get off your horse. I don’t care if you are your loves sole provider. You can help them transition. I am not saying that you should leave them high and dry. Can I please ask a question? What did your love do before you came into the picture? He/she will survive.

This was a major area for me. I felt as if my love needed me, because I did so much for him. I thought he’ll go backwards if I leave and he’ll have nothing. I love him. I don’t want to see him like that. Then I had to realize. I absolutely had no faith in him. That is the reason that I did all those things, because I always thought that he would botch it up. I was simply his enabler and he was my drug. (Detoxing now.)

I need him/her.

At the end of our relationship my love was my sole supporter. I did not want to go back and ask my parents for help. I could never stay in the arms of anyone I love just for money. I ended up using him in the end and feeling used myself. So, I had to make a firm to decision and stick by it. You can find out how I did it exactly in my article How To Break Up With Your Boyfriend or Girlfriend. I wrote that article over a year ago, but it was merely a contemplation of what I would have to do today.

I just want to give you fair loving. Needing someone is the least loving thing you can do as an adult. Children need their parents out of helplessness, but when it comes to love relationships that is not loving at all. It is using someones niceties, money, time and affection for your own personal gain. If you are a user, then do you. Like the Eurythmics say, “Who am I to disagree?”

An overview of the Sagittarian Woman and 10 amazing celebrity profiles to match.

To explain the mind of a Sagittarius woman, you must first hold paper and pen. The details become complex and defy sensibility. Her lovely smile and luminous skin will hypnotize. It’s the Sagittarius voice that will send shivers down your spine, not necessarily the tone but the words that are released from those pouty lips. The Sagittarius woman will say the most shocking and embarrassing things. It may start off innocently enough, her asking “why do you comb your hair over to the side like that“, or something simple like “is it difficult to find pants that will fit you comfortably”? She means well, always believe that, it’s just that she truly would like to know. But alas, the moment will pass, and her unique charm will ultimately draw you back in to her allure.

The Sagittarius woman is almost always assuredly on her own, for a time anyway. She’s extremely independent and has no qualms about sleeping alone. If you suffer from male chauvinism than the Sagittarius woman may not be the right goddess for you. She will value your concern, but ultimately prefer her own decisions. It’s not that she doesn’t respect your masculine mind, it’s just that her spirit won’t allow itself to be maneuvered. She is self-righteous and seriously opinionated. Traits you will grow to admire and affectionately have a high regard for.

Potentially promiscuous, the Sagittarius woman is quite comfortable with many adoring suitors. She may shamelessly flirt and impress you with her callous demeanor, but in her heart she will wistfully imagine a forever kind of love. For you see, she’s very soft and sensitive on the inside. She shatters easily. It will be a rarity though, to ever be let into her pain. She will steer you clear of ever knowing her sometimes lonely dreams, for anyone realizing this would be an even more painful alternative.

The Sagittarius woman prefers to hang out with the boys. She feels a much deeper camaraderie with the men in her life than with the sometime helpless act some women thoughtlessly display. She feels very capable of equaling if not surpassing most obstacles her male counterpart will attempt to overcome. To walk beside you is her place, and you will see, no place you’d rather have her be.

The Sagittarius woman is a true romantic, trusting and hopeful. She sees the good in all. Her heart fragile. Bad boys will particularly be drawn to this sweet innocent prey. It will take the “heroic” sort of chap to wait gallantly in the shadows, and when the time is right, swoop in and rescue this beautiful maiden from yet another heartbreak. It will well be worth the save, her bright eyes and infectious laughter will reward you forever more.

Most Sagittarius women are entranced by the spotlight. Hollywood and bright lights will seem to beckon. She will flourish around the paparazzi and think she’s entered heaven on earth. This won’t last long though, for a true Sagittarius woman despises hypocrisy and longs for sentimental sincerity that only a true happy home with you will bring.

The Sagittarius woman is an angel to behold. She will have imagined the life you share and prayed for her destiny to arrive. Keep her close to your heart, remind her how much you care and always be the one to hold her hand. She will make you glad you did and convince you that wishes really do come true.
