As mentioned earlier, the attitude of tolerance that Muslims should be shown against the People of the Book has been demonstrated throughout the history of Islam. For centuries, Muslims treated the Jews with a very friendly and welcome our friendship with loyalty.

However, the things that have damaged this state is Zionism.

Image via Wikipedia

Zionism arose in the 19th century. Two things characterize the eminent 19th-century Europe, namely racism and colonialism, was also influential in Zionism. Another important feature of Zionism is that Zionism is an ideology that is far from religion. Jews, who are the main ideological mentor of Zionism, had a weak faith against their religion. In fact, most of them are atheists. Who consider the Jewish religion as a religion, but as the name of a race. They believe that Jews are a distinct and separate race from European nations. And, therefore, impossible for Jews to live with them, so that the Jews require a separate homeland for them.

To date, the birth of Zionism in the Middle East, this ideology brings nothing but strife and suffering. Between the two world wars, Zionist terrorist groups in the bloody attacks on Arabs and the British society. In 1948, after the founding of the State of Israel, the Zionist expansionist strategy has pulled the entire Middle East into chaos.

Zionism, the starting point does all this anger is not the Jewish religion, but social Darwinism, racist and colonialist ideology, which is the legacy of the 19 th century. Social Darwinism believes in fighting, or the ongoing war between the human community. When you thought the indoctrination in the brain, “a strong desire to succeed and the weak must be overcome,” this ideology has dragged the German people, Nazism, Zionism as Jews.

Today, many religious Jews who oppose Zionism, has supported this fact. Some of these pious Jews would not even recognize Israel’s legitimate government, and therefore refused to grant it. Israeli statesman Amnon Rubinstein, said: “Zionism is a rebellion against the country of origin (the Jews) to their synagogues and Jewish shepherds.” (Amnon Rubinstein, the Zionist dream Revisited, p. 19.)

Jewish chaplain, Forsythe, revealed that since the 19th century, Jews have been moving away from religion and the fear of God. The fact is that in the end inflict cruel as Hitler (for them), and these events are a call to the Jews, to better conform to their religion. The Rev. William Forsythe, said that cruelty and destruction on earth are the acts of the Amalekites (Amalek in the language of the Torah refers to people who do not believe in God), and added: “The members of the Jewish community forced to deny the essence of Amalek, insubordination and refusal to abandon the Torah of God, depravity, immorality, rudeness, lack of morals or ethics, lack of authority and law. “( Rabbi Forsythe, a vision of the Holocaust Torah, http://www.shemayisrael.com/ rabbiforsythe / holocaust.)

Zionism, whose actions are contrary to the teachings of the Torah, in fact, is a form of fascism, and fascism grew and rooted in the denial of religion, not religion itself. So who is really responsible for the carnage in the Middle East is not the Jewish religion, but Zionism, a fascist ideology that has nothing to do with religion.

However, as with other forms of fascism, others, Zionism also attempted to use religion as an instrument to achieve its objectives.

Misinterpretation of the Torah by the Zionists

The Torah is a book Allah revealed to Prophet Moses. Allah says in Quran: “Verily We have revealed the Torah (if any) guidance and a light (which illuminates the ),…” (Surat al-Country Idaho, 5:44). As we said in the Koran, the contents of the Torah was later amended by adding the word man. Therefore, in this period have been found in “the law changed.”

However, the evaluation of the Torah revealed the basic teachings of true religion in the book he had inherited. Many of the teachings set forth in the true religion as belief in God, surrender to it, thank you, the fear of God, the love of God, justice, love, compassion, against barbarism and tyranny of scripture Torah and some other parts of the Old Testament.

Moreover, the wars that have taken place throughout history and the massacre told in the Torah. If someone intends to make the argument – but to deflect the reality that exists – to justify heinous acts, massacres and assassinations, it can easily take these passages in the Torah as a reference for their own interests. Zionism has taken this way to justify terrorism, which is actually a fascist terrorist, and he was very successful. For example, Zionism used the pieces related to wars and massacres in the law to legitimize the massacre had done to innocent Palestinians. This is a misinterpretation. Zionism uses religion as a tool to justify racist and fascist ideology.

Many devout Jews who oppose the use of parts of this Act as an argument to justify the massacres committed against Palestinians as the correct action. The Nétur Karta, an anti-Zionist Orthodox Jewish organization, said that in reality, “according to the Torah, Jews are not allowed to shed blood, harassing, abusive or invade other nations.” They also stressed that “the Zionist politicians and their colleagues do not speak for the interests of the Jewish community, Israel has the name been stolen by them.” (Rabbi E. Schwartz, Neturei Karta Advertising in The New York Times, May 18, 1993)

By running the barbarous policy of the occupation of Palestine in the Middle East under the pretext of “Judaism” Zionism is actually detrimental to the Jewish religion and Jewish communities around the world and to the citizens of Israel or of the Jewish diaspora, which is for people who want to retaliate against Zionism.

The Israeli computer scientists developed computer programs with algorithms capable ofanalyzing the writing style. This program is used to find the real author of scripture, something that has remained controversial.

Until the current development, the program was not able to reach its main target. However, the program has been used to analyze the sentence can be made by more than one person and detect in which parts actually changed hands to the writings of other authors.

For example, many people believe that the Torah which is the oldest holy book written byone person, namely Moses. Still, many experts believe that this book has many sources.

The computer program will mediate the debate by presenting the results of the analysis. The program is seeing how the words and synonyms used in a variety of sentence so that it can find anyone who is involved in the manufacture of a manuscript.

The team of researchers led by Professor Nachum Dershowitz from Blatvanik School ofComputer Science University of Tel Aviv says that the ability of the program has been tested by analyzing two Hebrew books of Jeremiah and Ezekiel. 99 percent accurateanalysis results.

Computer programs and its ability was presented at the Annual Conference of theAssociation for Computational Linguistics, Portland. The research team said the programis specifically expected to examine who the real author of the Bible.

The city of alexandria and the story of the septuagint.

Many Jews moved to Alexandria because there are many business opportunities there. The Jews wanted to do business with the Greek people as well as other Jews. To do business with the Greek people they had to be able to speak Greek because most people in Alexandria spoke Greek. They also had to dress professionally in Greek clothes for people to take them seriously as business men. The Jews in Alexandria began to become very Hellenised, they were wealthy and had a huge gold temple, however the temple was Greek architecture. Furthermore, they did not speak Hebrew, so when they went to shul someone had to wave a flag to show when they have to say amen. As well as that, because they did not speak Hebrew they could not read the Torah, so they had the Hebrew Torah translated into Greek so they could understand it. This is the beginning of them losing their Jewish identities, if they do not speak Hebrew and only speak Greek they will become more Hellenised, then they will continue to gain more and more aspects of Greek culture until they become entirely Greek.

We have all heard news reports of middle eastern terrorists intent on killing all non-muslims, but why do the reports stop there? Is extremism a fundamentally muslim preoccupation, or is there another side to the story?

From 9/11 to 7/7 to the Palestinian rocket attacks, extremist Islamists have been an easy focal point for opposition disinterested in the political and often humane agendas sought after by terrorists. It is a bitter irony lost on most that many of these killers have themselves lost families, homes and livelihoods at a result of bombs paid for by our taxes!

Whilst this in no means justifies terrorism in any shape or form, it draws an important distinction between fundamentalists there and in the West. When religious extremists in Ireland felt oppressed, exactly the same thing occurred, and that was christians, not muslims! So clearly religious extremism and oppression or threats (real or supposed) are a deadly combination, and the IRA, Al Qaeda, Hamas and Hesbollah are all representative of that. However, when you combine this combination of extreme views and a real or imagined threat to your freedom, are there any other examples of what in the prior cases had been dubbed to be terrorist activities? Sadly, to me the answer is yes.

If you turn to America ‘land of the free’ and ‘home of the brave’, you can also see extremism, not just in fringe groups such as the followers of pastor Terry Richards, whose burning of a koran resulted in several deaths in Afghanistan just this week, but also in the mainstream of politics, for example with Sarah Palin, who could potentially even be their next president! If these are the people broadcast to the muslim world, in the same way Osama Bin Laden and other muslim extremists were broadcast on our tv’s, is it any surprise that terrorism is still such a real threat?

Whilst people may state 9/11 and 7/7 as examples of unprovoked acts of extremism against our population, the reality is that our governments have over the course of history sanctioned, ignored, supported and even funded some absolutely abhorent regimes, and whilst those inciting misguided youths into acts of terrorism are also in themselves dangerous men, their power to attract followers stems from economic and social hardships, which are then passed on to a real or imagined scapegoat. For an example of this at it’s worst, nazi Germany is a perfect example, Where Hitler’s NSDP swept to popularity during a period of economic decline, and went on to commit some of the worst attrocities in recorded history.

The moral of this is that suffering begets suffering. In order to change the world we need to change attitudes, and no amount of million pound bombs, IED’s or suicide vests will change this. It seems it is not the religion that is the problem, but extremism and oppression in all shapes and forms, something which religion has in fact preached against, although these teachings have not necessarily been enacted!

“Do unto others as you would have others do unto you” Matthew 7:12

“What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbour; that is the entire Torah; the rest is commentary” Talmud

“Even as the fingers of the two hands are equal, so are human beings equal to one another. No one has any right, nor any preference to claim over another. You are brothers.”
Final Sermon of Muhammad

Is nostalgia obsolete?

Maybe I’m too young for nostalgia, maybe it’s just a word I’ve seen written in magazines and newspapers. An archaic idea too slow, too time consuming for a world measured in gigahertz and bandwidth. We’ve sped up. We race at the speed of light to some horizon, something great, something magical. Clarke wrote, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”. Look around you, look in your pocket, you can hold a world of knowledge in your fingers. We can store the works of Shakespeare and of Chaucer, the whole contents of the Bible, the Qu’ran and the Torah between two fingers.

It’s not magic anymore, we know what it is. We know how it works, but are we better for it? Do we feel a terrible pang of loss that we now know what the stars are? Is it better to dream of distant galaxies and star shine millions of years old or of gods and eternally separated lovers? Maybe it is better to know the answer, but how much have we stolen from our children? How much magic will we take away from them? What is unexplainable? We’ve become so jaded that anyone who even dares to claim that something, anything, just might be unexplainable is a lunatic, a crackpot, an object of ridicule. I’m not saying moving forward is wrong, in fact I’m embracing it. I’m looking oh so closely at the razors edge of science, hoping for just that moment. That wonderful little moment where something is new before it’s categorized and dissected to its base parts.

So, whats the point you say? Do we kill the old gods or do we slow down? Oh neither one. We speed up and we blaze brighter and brighter. We give pause for the old fables and we push on to the new. It’s all we can do. Progress can’t stop, nor should it. As a society we must run, but as people, as brief individuals who are here but a moment then gone. We have to find new wonders while not being jaded by old discoveries. Let’s be honest, if you take a moment to think listening to a fifty year old record in 7.1 surround sound, and while reading a 300 year old book on your iPad is a little bit magical.

Image via Wikipedia

The Truth Can Now Be Told

Oh why? Oh why?

Are there so many lies

The more we search around for truth

The more we are surprised

For the things we put our trust in

Have disappeared before our eyes

Like the Gods we thought

Came down from heaven

Aren’t even from the skies

Like those books we once held sacred

We now know have been contrived

So that the weakest cub amongst us

Could be the leader of the pride

But the time has come for all who were dumb

And who had bands across their eyes

To see the truth and hear the facts

On why they were despised

The truth is that

You‘re the cream of the crop

First born upon the land

Whose jewels were stolen

And riches robbed

And made slaves by another man

On hollow ships he placed you

And in chains to a foreign land

Where he treated you

As oxen and horses

But never like a man

He stole your language and religion

And your culture He did damn

He changed the way you worshiped God

And even fed you ham

But the honest truth can now be told

For it’s time to take a stand

Because the ones that

Beat you down to the ground

Didn’t know

You were a good and nobleman

Whose time has come

To take his rightful place

To rule with a loving hand

And do all those things

That are righteous and just

To bring peace across this land

While being fair to all whether Black or White

Or Red or a Yellow man

While giving Him thanks

Who created All

So that we can all walk hand in hand

What might it prove?

I’m not what you would call an archaeology buff; quite the opposite, in fact. The notion of sifting through dirt for Indian dishes? I’m thinking that would just suck. Now, if it was anything like Indiana Jones… that might be a different story. But, as you have no doubt seen by now, to some degree Dr. Daryl Blankenship is living that dream. Sans Nazis, rolling boulders and booby traps, perhaps, but to make a discovery of this magnitude….

If it ends up being authentic… which, based on the roll call of noted scientists visiting the site, they are at least contemplating… this could be one of the most, if not the most significant discovery in the history of the field.

The legends surrounding the Ark of the Covenant are long and storied. In short, it is supposedly the container in which the tablets containing the original 10 commandments. It is referred to in both Christian and Muslim texts, and through biblical lineage can be traced through the Babylonian Destruction of Jerusalem.

The Jordanian government finally granted permission to Dr. Blankenship (famous for hi work with Ron Wyatt in the search for the holy relic) to bring in his team of 12 specialists in Febuary of this year after the discovery of a series of catacombs beneath a 4th century monestary atop Mount Nebo. The excavations have been kept rather secretive to date, but sources say the bill is approaching the $150 million mark, and a number of corporations both stateside and abroad have apparently contributed significant amounts.

Rumors have ranged from stories of the Holy Grail to King Solomon’s treasure to Babylonian plunder, but interest soon waned to all but the most die hard zealots and conspiracy theorists until yesterday’s sudden and startling press conference.

In Dr. Blankenships preprepared statement, (He answered no questions), he stated:

“As many of you are aware, we have, with the cooperation of the Jordanian government and a multinational team of experts, been taking part in excavations beneath the Besai temple on Mount Nebo. We have, over the last 9 months, unearthed a significant number of artifacts. Several have been tested using carbon dating technology, and it appears possible that many of these relics date to biblical times.

Information will be provided regarding our discoveries as we are able to more thoroughly test them, but one item in particular it was felt was necessary to share with the general public.

The item in question very closely bears striking similarities to the Ark of the Covenant described in a number of ancient religious texts. This is one of the pieces that was tested using the carbon technology, and tests revealed the item to be somewhere between 1500 and 3000 years old.

The religious ramifications are profound, as could the political. As such, we have moved the artifact to an undisclosed location. The contents of the Artifact are as yet undetermined. A new updated press release will be issued in two weeks time. Thank you.”

It has the earmarks of a publicity stunt, but as stated, the list of renowned scientists to visit the sit in the last several weeks lends credence to the notion that something of consequence lies beneath the ruins.

So for now we are left to ponder. A number of biblical stories could be at least to seem far more plausible if the artifact is in fact the Ark of legend. And as the Doctor stated, the political and religious political ramifications are impossible to predict. So we wait, and ponder. What else might they have in those catacombs?

So. I was just following the news on Craigslist Killer (or Hit-man, maybe?). That guy in the picture looks so similar to my face. I can’t even tell if we’re related or not. When I think of the killer, “The Ring” Ouroboros and the universal space-time fake “UFO” creatures from Kaal, Kabal, Baal or whatever the mythology has to offer.
Why justify discrimination and prejudice by hiding behind religious scripture when that same scripture can be interpreted in a more tolerant manner?

I was talking to a friend at school when we saw the “Jesus guy,” as she called him. He was passing out small flyers encouraging people to embrace Christianity and be “saved.” My friend and I have nothing against him because he was being very nice about it, but it reminded us of another more provocative man who we had seen separately on two different campuses. This other man held a sign quoting the Bible and claiming that homosexuals, mouthy women, and basically everyone not Christian will be going to hell. He did this right before the vote on Prop 8 (banning gay marriage in California), so of course he got a very heated reaction from the college students. A few of my gay acquaintances even started making out in front of him to try to piss him off enough to leave the campus. I found it funny that his only supporter was a loud religious lady, who as a mouthy woman was going to hell according to the man’s sign.

In my opinion, fundamentalist people of any religious denomination are some of the most hypocritical people in the world. They take certain parts of their scripture as true while ignoring other parts and ideas. For example, fundamentalist Christians, like the man mentioned above, use part of the Bible (I believe the quotes are mainly from the Old Testament) to condemn homosexuality, but they ignore most of the 613 commandments present in the Old Testament/Torah. By no means am I arguing that all the commandments should be followed; they are outdated and completely inappropriate to the modern world. I just think that all the religious scriptures should be regarded as stories that teach lessons about how to live rather than strict commandments. This way the spirit of the religion is kept while adapting the beliefs to the modern world. I am not religious or spiritual myself, but my favorite religious group is Reconstructionist Jews. They keep to the Jewish culture, but they are much more tolerant of feminism and homosexuality than are the more orthodox Jewish groups.

I have always resented the fact that people use their religion to justify being prejudiced and judgmental. I respect people’s personal beliefs and I don’t want to deny them of religion, but I find it hard to respect someone who discriminates against races, homosexuals, women, or any person just because of their religious scripture, which can almost always be interpreted in a more tolerant manner. My best friend recently converted to Islam in spite of being a lesbian. Islam is one of the most intolerant religions regarding homosexuality, but my friend came to terms with the scripture by realizing that the disapproval of gay people is based on the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. In the story the men are condemned for having sex with other men, but there are arguments that those particular men were using their power to force themselves on other men, so it was this misuse of power that may be the real reason for the condemnation, and not the act of having sex. If a religion as resolute as Islam can find a more tolerant interpretation of the text, other religions certainly can do so as well. Cultures and societies change over time, and so do religious beliefs. I think it is time that people stop hiding behind scripture and come to terms with the unfair discrimination and bigotry that has resulted from it. Maybe that will make them a bit more open-minded and enlightened.

Sukkot(Feast of Tabernacles) is one of the three Jewish pilgrim Festivals that can be celebrated by both Jew and Gentile.

Sukkot in the Bible

Exodus 23:16 mentions the three Feasts, in Deuteronomy 16:13 we read about the Feast of Tabernacles and the guidelines for the celebrations are written in Leviticus 23:40-44.

Linked to agriculture

Sukkot occurred in the fall harvest, therefore it was also observed as an agricultural event. Prayers for a rainy season are recited.

Different celebrations

Ashkenazi Jews wear a Kitel during this time. This is a Yiddish word for “smock”, a loose wide vestment that is worn on solemn occasion and on High Holidays.

The color white closely associates with atonement and purity.

In Sephardic congregations the Shofar (ram’s horn) is blown. In the weeks before these High Holidays you can hear people practicing their skill on the Shofar .

The season of rejoicing

Sukkot is a week of rejoicing beginning on the 15th of the Jewish month of Tishrei , the date of the first full moon after the autumnal equinox. This year, 2007, it is celebrated from September 26 – October 4.

The festival is “the season of our rejoicing”, when Israelites eat their meals in a tabernacle or booth that is covered with boughs, (but with the sky showing through) in remembrance of the desert wanderings.

A week-long holiday

In the Diaspora (outside Israel) the first days are celebrated as full holidays (like a Sabbath). The last day (“the Eight Day of Solemn Assembly”) is also kept as a holiday, followed by Simhat Torah (Rejoicing of the Law). Thus in reality the holiday lasts nine days.

The days in between are called “ Hol ha Mo’ed ”, in which people are allowed to work, but the festival framework is maintained. It is a family oriented Feast, and most Israelis take a holiday.

Dwelling in the Sukkah

The holiday’s main observance involves “dwelling” in the sukkah (booth). The concept of thanksgiving for the harvest remains central, symbolized by the fruits (real or artificial) that decorate the Sukkot (one sukkah , two Sukkot ).

Some say the American Pilgrim fathers were influenced by the Jewish observance of Sukkot , from which Thanksgiving Day came.

The first sukkah

The first Sukkot built in the wilderness were probably made from the branches of the acacia (Lotus) tree. This tree grows in the desert wadis where floodwaters provide the necessary moisture. The Ark of the Covenant was made of acacia wood.

Once in the Promised Land, the Israelites were able to use the trees of the forest to build Sukkot , as we can read in Nehemiah 8:15. The Bible mentions olive, pine, myrtle, and palm branches.

Ethiopian Jews (Beta Israel) however, never built booths, because they lived in huts all year round.

Together with the reminder of Israel’s journey in the wilderness, the rabbis said the sukkah was the symbolic reminder of man’s reliance on Divine protection.

“In Salem [Jerusalem] also is His tabernacle, [ sukkah ]

And His dwelling place in Zion.” (Psalm 76:2 NKJV)

Enter, exalted holy guest…

Ushpizin , (Aramaic word for guests) was a 16th century Kabalistic custom that is still part of the religious observance. Ushpizin refers to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Aaron, Joseph and David who each day are symbolically welcomed into the sukkah .

The Four Species

A general part of the Festival are the “four species” – Araba’ah Minim – which are held together and waved at different points in the religious services, in accordance with the commandment “Rejoice before the LORD”.

The four species consist of a lulav -palm branch, etrog – citron, hadasim – three myrtle twig, and the aravot – two willow branches. These species combined are called the Lulav .

Bible readings during Sukkot

During Sukkot services the unabridged Hallel (Psalm 113-118) is recited each morning.

Further Biblical readings during Sukkot :

Leviticus 22:26-23:44

Numbers 29:12-31

Zechariah 14:1-21

1 Kings 8:2-21

Exodus 33:12-34:26

Ezekiel 38:18 – 39:16

The book of Ecclesiastics

On the first day of Sukkot

On the first seven days of the festival a processions takes place around the synagogue, while the Hoshanot prayers are recited and hymns are sung. The” hosha-na ” (Save us, we pray) reminds of the ceremony during Temple times when daily circuits were made around the altar.

Intermediate days of Sukkot

During Temple times, part of Sukkot was the water drawing ceremony, when water libations were poured over the altar, to highlight the petitions for rain. In modern Israel, special “water drawing” ceremonies are held during the intermediate days of Sukkot . People play musical instruments and sing biblical songs, such as the well known song, “You shall draw water with gladness out of the wells of salvation”, taken from Isaiah 12:3.

Public Bible reading

Portions of the Torah were read during ancient times by either the king or religious leaders. In modern Israel, the President publicly read from the Torah to assembled guests at the Western (Wailing) wall in Jerusalem.

On the seventh day of Sukkot

On the seventh day of Sukkot the Great Hoshanah ( Hoshanah Rabbah ) takes place, tradionatelly marking the conclusion of the solemn season.

The four species are exchanged for a bundle of “ Hoshanot ”, which is struck three times until some of the leaves fall off. This symbolized the resurrection, as the denuded branches bud with new life in due season.

On the eight day of Sukkot

On the eight day the Prayer for Rain is said, essential for a fruitful year. In Israel (in the Diaspora a day later) Simhat Torah marks the conclusion of the annual Torah reading cycle and the beginning of a new cycle.

Sukkot in ancient times

During the time of the Temple, a total of 70 bullocks were sacrificed on the seven days of the festival. (Numbers 29:12) Rabbis suggest this corresponds with the 70 nations of the world.

The rainy season

The prayers for rain commence during Sukkot and continue till Pesach , which coincides with the end of Israel’s rainy season.

Sukkot – a prophetic Feast

In future times, not only the Jews will go up to Jerusalem to celebrate Sukkot ; Zechariah states that the gentiles too, will have to celebrate the Feast. When they refuse to do so, their nations will be punished by a rain-less year.

“And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles… And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, on them there will be no rain.” (Zechariah 14:16-19 NKJV)

Christian celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles

For many years, Christians come to Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. The International Christian Embassy yearly sponsors a Christian Celebration which attracts thousands of people from around the world.

We don’t have to wait for the future, we can celebrate Sukkot now.

With joy, we may draw water from the Well of Salvation. Together with the Jewish people, we may rejoice in God, our Maker.
