In wild capitalism, people have two options whenever they are seriously sick -pay up for surgery and treatment or die. Medicine isn't a social service to which everyone is entitled, but business and greed.

Years ago, during the Clinton era, I read that the president wanted to establish a universal NHS in the US and he had to endure a lot of criticism, because, according to some of his oponents, he tried to create a sort of European system in the US. I don’t know how far he and his wife went with such a plan, but I guess they didn’t achieved much.

What did those Conservatives meant by “trying to create an European system”?

It was simply that while in the US there prevails what it is known as wild capitalism, in Europe, right after World War Second, the different governments put into practice some of Keynes’s ideas in order to rebuild every country and to give a boost to the economy and employment. One of his ideas was that in the capitalist system, there always will be differences in incomes. Therefore, the State must provide for those who are less favoured. Thus, they created a universal NHS that provided for everybody. The rich will afford expensive schools and universities for their children, but not so working people. Therefore, there must be state controlled schools and universities so as to give opportunities for a majority of people.

I also read some essays from economists that stated that if a universal NHS hadn’t been created in Europe after World War Second, half of the population of Europe would have died.

Some people may think that these governments were somewhat socialist or even reds, but they weren’t. It is that in a capitalist system there will always be inequality and class differences.

This Welfare State has been in many countries of western Europe for some decades, providing to those with smaller incomes no matter how hard they work. And , at this time and age, the financial markets want to smash this system urging to the different governments to privatise everything that was State controlled.

In the wild capitalism, when working people get seriously ill, they have two options -pay up a lot of money for surgery and treatment or die. Private health isn’t a social service, but business.

If people can afford to buy a house or a flat, they will be fine. But what if one can’t afford to buy it? That is why in many European countries, governments created schemes of affordable housing.

This is the ugly face of wild capitalism and the one the few financial markets want to impose on all of us.

Can it really work? If it does, what will it look like? This little story suggests what might be some of the ultimate outcomes of the way we are heading now.

The transporter glided smoothly into the station. Gloria whispered the location number of the sports centre into the microphone.

“Why are you being so secretive about that?” asked a familiar voice.

She turned to see Declan sitting a few seats back. “You haven’t been summoned have you?” he asked. He was grinning so she realised he was only teasing.

No, she hadn’t received the red email. Her last medical had been fine. The right weight for her height and age. Peak flow spot on. Blood pressure almost as good as a child’s the medic had said. Her visit to the gym was just routine. She wanted to complete her Sports Training Service by the end of the summer. Then she could really get on with what she wanted to do in life. It would be the last of the compulsory services out of the way.

“I just don’t like people knowing my business,” she said. “Where are you heading anyway?” she asked.

“The Bancroft Library,” said Declan.

The Bancroft? That was miles away. Out of zone. It would take him at least half a day to get there.

“Why didn’t you take a super transporter?” she asked.

“You’ve not heard? They’re on strike?”

“Oh. But why the Bancroft?”

“The Rembrandt and the Oxford Newmark have been shut down.”

“Well, can’t you just download the books?”

“Nope! Territorial stuff. Have to go there.”

The transporter stopped. They had arrived inside the main shopping mall. A small child got on. She was bit too young to be travelling on her own, Gloria thought. She was thin and pale, and undernourished, Gloria concluded.

The child mumbled something unintelligible into the conductor mic.

“Please clarify,” said an electronic voice.

The little girl mumbled again.

“Message incomprehensible,” said the electronic voice.

The little girl began to cry. “I want to go home,” she said between sobs. “Please take me home.”

Declan shook his head and sighed. Gloria knew that it was down to her. Big Society or not, a man still dare not approach a child in need. He could still be accused of all sorts of things.

“Where’s home?” asked Gloria.

The little girl pulled a piece of scruffy paper out of her pocket and handed it to Gloria.

If you find my little girl, she read. Please help her to get home. I am disabled and cannot hold down a job, no matter what they say. I am too ill. She goes out begging for us every day. The mics recognise our voices and because we have no credits they’l l not do anything for us. Please can she travel home on your credits? We are location 47320059.6660. Thank you so much!

Fiona Harrison

“Oh you poor darling,” said Gloria. She turned to the mic. “Location 47320059.6660 Twice,” she said. “Cancel 53197542.7779.”

“You’re going with her?” said Declan.

“Yes,” replied Gloria. The Sports Training Service could wait. She’d already completed her Social Duty Year but something needed doing here. She stooped down to the child’s level and looked into the little girl’s eyes. They were deep brown. She was a pretty little thing actually, and once she was cleaned up, fed up a bit and dressed in something a bit smarter than the faded jogging suit she would really be very attractive. “So tell me your name,” said Gloria.

“I’m Tilly. Tilly Harrison,” she replied.

“Come on then Tilly,” said Gloria as the transported set off again. She led her to where there was a pair of empty seats. “You can tell me all about your mummy while we’re travelling.”

She was suddenly aware that all of the people in the transporter were staring at her. “So,” she said to the crowd. “That’s what the Big Society was supposed to be about, wasn’t it?”

Declan was grinning at her. “Way to go,” he said, giving her a thumbs up.

The word transportation is derived from the Latin word trans– that means moving across or to carry things or people. In the light of this definition transportation or transport means transit of people or things from one place to another. This transportation is carried out through various mediums i.e. through rails or roads, airports, sear by means of vehicles, buses, trucks, train or ships etc. All this type of transportation is controlled by various organizational systems such as traffic signals, traffic signs, air traffic control etc. These systems further collect several forms of finances on account of different toll taxes etc., for their regulating services.

Besides above, there is another type of transportation and that is called Mass Transit. It is very beneficial for the city people for they depend highly on the providence of Mass Transit facility in their area. On the other hand Mass Transit is controlled by the federal and local governments that take care of its maintenance and development.

Cities are made more livable in many ways with the help of Mass Transit. For instance, working as an alternate to automobiles, mass transit functions to curb the undesirable results produced by automobile jam, excessive energy usage and other associated environmental emanations. As a result, it plays important role in keeping the check on factors that are responsible for producing bad effects on public health.

There are many others wide variety of less apparent benefits that Mass Transit provides because of its ease of access and economical rates. Mass transit provides number of advantages to the labors, employers and state at the same time. Labors find it easy to travel for going and getting back from work. Employers get workforce that is more accessible and for the state level it minimizes and assists in unemployment issues for people stay employed in more numbers, if they are getting easy access with economical rates for reaching their working places.

Mass transit is a great way of providing benefits to the old people, handicapped or to people who have low income resources, young people and many others alike, who depend totally on this source of transport. On one side where Mass transit provides transportation means to the people of the society who are less advantaged, whereas on the other side it provides opportunities to the people of the society to participate in the communal activities thus enhancing its liveliness. Mass Transit is also a great way of providing considerable support to the economic feasibility of a city because it provides transportation means to the tourists and visitors. This way it plays another big role in supporting civil and communal behavior in a city.

It is not surprising that Mass Transit services are rendering huge benefits to the society in very economical prices as compared to using your own vehicle for transportation purposes. Without Mass Transit, it would be hard living healthier lives in the world, since it saves us from many troubles which we would be facing like global warming and emission of poisonous gases in the environment.

2 elderly women are stripped search at U.S. airports, by Transport Security Administration (TSA). The women 85 and 88 were both searched invasively at JFK International Airport in New York. The TSA are denying the types of searches they conducted. One of the woman’s family is planning on suing the TSA.

Passengers had complained about his foul body odour and general poor hygiene. This forced the Boda-boda Association to cause this particular young boda-boda rider to be forcefully washed in public.

Boda-boda cyclists are motorcycle taxis riders who carry passengers for a small fee over a given distance. I am aware that in countries like Nigeria, these very hardworking young men are very helpful to the public because they are faster and can dodge traffic jams during rush hours.

Unfortunately for the case of the Uganda boda-boda cyclists, they don’t take their hygiene seriously. Many of them work until after midnight and set off to work the next day as early as 5.am. This kind of work schedule does not give some of them time to address their personal hygiene. One such boda was recently subdued by fellow boda-bodas in the middle of the city and forcefully bathed in public. Many passengers had repeatedly expressed their displeasure at the issuing body stench of this particular Boda-bod rider whenever he was giving them rides-this matter reached their leaders who quickly organized strong men to to arrest and undress the culprit.

By the time he was undressed, water and detergents were ready-he was thoroughly scrabbed and washed by fellow Boda-bodas before being released to continue with his daily work of transporting passengers. This is a very common happening in Kampala lately. The Leaders of the Boda-boda cyclists are trying to show the public that they don’t tolerate poor hygiene, most especially now that the government is trying enforce the use of shared helmets.

The public was very pleased with the action of the Boda-boda Association in washing up one of their own in public to improve public hygiene. It is hoped that the rest of the boda-bodacyclists who are not serious about their hygiene will style up when they see such humiliating public washing being enforced by their own leaders.

Quality prisoner transport vehicles are a critical factor to the safety of the public and of prisoners.

Many Americans live near a prison or a jail which means that they understand the need for safe prisoner transport vehicles. A large number of these facilities do not have proper vans or buses to transport their prisoners, which not only puts their reputation on the line but also the safety of employees, nearby residents and even to the prisoners themselves. Without secure features like electronic door locks and security walls, many of the vans and buses used for prisoner transport simply are not sufficient when it comes to keeping everyone in and around the vehicle safe.

For those who are looking to get a completely safe and secure prisoner transport vehicle, there are a few key features that you should ensure are included in the van or bus you choose to purchase. First, it’s important that any prison bus contain ADA compliant lift equipment so that prisoners of all physical capabilities can ride safely and securely in your prisoner transport vehicle. Secondly, safety features like security walls, electronic locks, a rear officer station and security cameras are an absolute must because they prevent breakouts and potential prisoner-on-prisoner or prisoner-on-employee violence during any trip. Finally, it’s extremely helpful to get a prisoner transport vehicle which features bathroom facilities, specifically a waterless urinal. This provides adequate amenities for the riders while also eliminating the need for most of the prisoners to be removed from the vehicle at any point during the trip, which is often the cause of potential problems when moves are made with a prisoner bus.

To be sure that employees, prisoners and citizens remain safe during these trips, it is very importantl that prison facilities upgrade their prisoner transport vehicles in order to meet these standards. Without these basic necessities, the facilities will be at a great risk for encountering problems during any prisoner transport task.

Hi all and welcome to my first post!anyway as you can guess I am going to be writing about public transport and well to see if it is a Life Saver or a Hassle Maker! lets just give a short intro to it! Public transport is used in everyday life in means of commuting to work, getting to places, meeting places and all sorts of other handy uses including saving the environment!

Public transport can be a life saver because you could of have gone shopping for household supplies and yet the person who has dropped you off cannot pick you up so you will have to either get the train or bus but it can also be a real hassle maker because you will have to wait what seems to be forever to get the bus or train and it would cost more than getting home by car!

another example: Public transport can be a lifesaver because you may have to walk home but you cannot be bothered to because your house is like 30 minutes away on foot so public transport comes to the rescue once again! the bad side to this though is that you may not have enough space for any bags you might have so you will have to place them on a sort of dirty floor which will not be good!

Lets look at cons and pros for public transport:

pro’s

you don’t have to walk home

easy access for people with wheelchairs or buggies

take a load of your hands litterally!

con’s

does more damage to the environment than walking home

not as quick as driving home in a car!

public transport will not take you to your doorstep whereas you car does!

so here are my cons and pros and I hope you look at this article as advice! DO NOT TAKE THE BUS BECAUSE THEY ARE HORRIBLE! thanks for reading!

The Use of animals from pets to Transport and how it affects them.

,Pets:

Nowadays having a pet is fairly common and many animals are kept as pets, the popular ones being cats and dogs. Thankfully as many people rely on them for company and as a companion they are treated respectfully. People may decide to get pets for different reasons e.g. Company, to bond their family and help for the blind. However this doesn’t affect the way people treat them and feed them and luckily people treat them like anyone else in their family.

Guide Dogs:

Guide Dogs are specially trained dogs in order to be able to help the blind or people with major sight problems to get around safely. As I said above for pets they are normally treated with great respect as a companion for many blind people are unfortunate enough to live on their own or in care.

Sport:

Animals which are used in sport aren’t just abuse towards the animal such as in Bull fighting. For example greyhound racing the animals chase after the hare with no force from a human. With the animals being looked after carefully in sport and being checked on abused animal owners will be punished by the government .

Transport:

Animals have been used in human transport for thousands of years for example horses. Nowadays we are less dependent on animals assistance but they are still used and transport in some areas of the world like Husky dogs in the Arctic. The transport of animals can help humans pass through the toughest environments with little effort with normally no stress or mistreatment to the animal.

Work:

Animals used in work are fairly scarce until it comes to the police and military sector. For example sniffer dogs at airports and other locations placed around the United States. Also some type of bird is used in Japan for fishing. These animals are well looked after, even after they have been ‘retired’

Experiments:

An animal being used in experimentation is a very controversial subject and probably at least 75% of the population would protest about it, until it becomes on testing for something for that animal could benefit from i.e. new medicines maybe for a cow infected with mad cow disease. Experimentation on animals even in perspective is still probably going to be protested about.

Farming:

Animals help in farming in many ways apart from cattle farming for food. For example sheep help in the farming business by eating grass which moves more fertile soil to the top of the ground so new crops can be grown there again and also when they are sheared it isn’t just benefiting us for wool it benefits the sheep so they don’t have so much wool and can take up less space for itself.

Running car with water.

Use tap water to run your car;

Have you ever thought of running your car on tap water? Probably not! many people around the world are not aware of this use of water. Have you heard the name of James Watt? Of course I have gone through this name in your primary school and are familiar with the person who invented the first steam engine. James Watt turned water into steam and used the energy of steam for various purposes. Even today, many countries in the railways for the transport of passengers and goods from one place to another use vapor. So, we know how to get water, because the job a long time. Here, in case of running our cars on water, we have the knowledge base and only one thing is that there are informed about the procedure to get energy from water. People have tried both the technologies available to run your car on water and are the first to convert water into steam and using steam to run your car and another is to convert water into components base and use the components for your car.

Indeed in the first case to convert water into steam and then using the steam for your car running, some limitations are, however, in the latter case, the successful demonstration and field trials have already taken place. On the day thousands of people run their cars virtually tap water and thus save huge money on gas bills applicants. There are a number of small items of equipment available and the cost of this equipment is less than $ 100 and with the help of a mechanic you can install these in your car. It is not necessary to request further changes to your motor drive and once installed the equipment in your car, you start saving money right away. With the rising cost of crude oil, which is $ 140 today and by the end of the year will reach $ 200 mark, the price of gas at a service station are expected to rise, because no oil company will be able to gas supply at the current rate.
So, plan to convert your car to gas-based water-based and start saving as soon as possible. Do you need an investment of approximately $ 100 to once and have a huge potential savings that would otherwise have been spent on gas bills.
