The Great War ravaged the lands of Europe from 1914-1918. Over 60 million European troops were mobilized over this four year period and approximately 20 million soldiers and 20 million civilians died. At the end of this period in history the alliance was defeated and the triple entente consisting of America, Britain, and France emerged victorious.
