This movie depicts fictional story about Japan earthquake, massive volcano eruptions, gigantic tsunamis, which left many Japanese people homeless. Recent 2011 Japanese earthquake and nuclear fallout just reminded me of this movie.

At the end of the story, this movie portrayed two brave submarine divers who risked their lives in order to save Japan from further sinking by detonating a chain of nuclear bombs to separate the sinking tectonic plate from pulling the Japan islands down with it. This movie also highlighted the dilemma of the government of Japan to whether to tell the Japanese public the truth about the sinking of Japan in less than one year rather than 40 years.

This movie is just fantastic with all the large-scale explosions and rock debris flying around, a perfect scene for any disaster friend who enjoys the beauty of explosions. The romantic scene between Reiko and Toshio in this film is just typical. However, I had to admit that it has a good opening scene – An innocent girl trapped walking among the building debris that was later saved by a firewoman on a helicopter.

Sinking of Japan is another doomsday movie that reminds people about any possibilities that could happen. Reiko’s willingness to remain inside the country in order to help the victims shows that the value of altruism remains an essential tool for the survival of mankind from disaster. It is interesting to note that Dr. Tadokoro prefer to use his papers and blackboard for his complex seismic calculation although the computers are available.

Like the “The day after tomorrow”, and “2012”, this movie is another eye opener for those who loves disaster movies.

The Japanese trawler was spotted by the Canadian Navy near the coast

Canada. – A Japanese fishing carried away by the tsunami that devastated northeastern Japan last year was seen drifting off to British Columbia in western Canada.

The official Jeff Olsson, the Center for Coordination of Rescue Victoria, said the occupants of an aircraft hired by the government spotted the fishing boat of 15 meters about 260 kilometers west of Haida Gwaii, floating slowly toward the coast.

The boat that comes from the Japanese island of Okaido, apparently does not have people on board, officials said, there is a danger to the environment.

Similarly, a marine warning was issued because the fish could be a hazard to navigation.

According to researchers at the University of Hawaii, about 25 million tons of rubble and debris were swept by the sea in March 2011 when a magnitude 9 earthquake and subsequent tsunami swept the northeastern coast of Japan.

You can prepare yourslelf in many ways but the best way is to go underground. water does not afect underground things only above ground. you will need to stock up lots of food and water and prepare for the worst. the world will look alot different when you come back put of the ground but aslong as the human race survives we can assure the world will be here for us. If you dont mind sleeping with cows and chickens and pigs bringh them in your bunker too so we can avoid mass extinction. when we surface again we will need animals there with us.

The added effect of the fault lines being in the ocean is that tsunamis are likely to occur in the event of significant release of pressure from the fault lines of the plates surrounding Japan. An example of this is the Fukushima earthquake and tsunami of March 2011 which produced tsunami waves that washed away complete towns and severely damaged a nuclear power plant. The cleanup of the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear incident will take years and remains a concern, not just of Japan, but most of the world.

The Fukushima earthquake was of magnitude 9.0 which is very rare and hopefully won’t repeat in our lifetime. However, with the continued activity, such as the earthquakes within the last month alone that have hit Japan one has to wonder.

There has been widespread hunger in Africa for years but now a zombie like devise. Everyone ducks for cover as the Gard moves in and takes down the infected threat one by one until they are all dead. Wait, you are in an office building watching the news when you see live coverage from Africa. you don’t believe it so you carry out your daily life until the zombies are literally crashing down your door. You take the samurai sword that was supposed to be for that karate class you never exactly took up. And then you start popping heads left and right until the zombie threat is gone and there are no more infected left in sight.

It’s a natural reaction during an emergency – such as earthquakes that hit Southern California or Japan (along with the tsunami).  You quickly grab your cell phone and call home to make sure your loved ones are safe.  Or, you frantically place a call to your friends to share the experience during the quake – the rocking and rolling, the aftershocks, etc.

 ‘SYSTEM OVERLOAD’

While that reaction may be natural, it can make a bad situation – busy signals and calls not getting through – even worse.  During an emergency the sheer volume of calls can overload a cell phone carrier, making your cell so much dead weight.  Sprint communications, for example, reported that during a Southern California earthquake they experienced an 800 percent spike in cell phone calls.  The problem is compounded when people who can’t get through keep redialing, creating what cell phone companies call ‘system block’ or plain old ‘system overload.’

CONFLICTING INSTRUCTIONS

But even the cell phone companies can be confused as to what to do.  Sprint, for example, cautioned against redialing your cell phone when you can’t get through to someone on the first try.  But a statement by Verizon once recommended just the opposite, recommending that callers keep redialing until they can get through in the hope that as time goes by the volume of calls will diminish.

TIPS

Phone companies suggest a number of things callers can take to get call through.

1. Use text messaging – it takes up less bandwidth so calls have a better chance of getting through.
2.  Some carriers, like Verizon and Sprint offer “push to talk” services.  These services bypass cell phone towers, and operate from one point to another point so are less likely to experience problems during a quake.  However, one limitation is that they work only when talking to someone within a few miles from where you’re calling.
3.  If you have a smart phone – like Apple’s iphone – you can try emailing messages through the phone’s web browser.  Email also uses less bandwidth.

Most experts agree that one of the wisest things you can do during an emergency, is NOT to use your cell phone – or land line for that matter – unless you absolutely have to.  State officials at the California Office of Emergency Services even took the extraordinary step of urging people throughout the state to cut back telephone use – something to be considered anywhere an emergency strikes.

Yesterday many websites that offers live coverage of a seismic activity in the world first reported 8.4 earthquake in Libya, off the coast, but than most of them removed this earthquake from their maps.

Many people are now wondering what actually happened and why did they remove the seismic activity result from the majority of the websites.
