<p>Lately, we hear a lot of <strong>dreadful </strong>news about the health effects of <strong>meat consumption</strong>. Even some studies say, the consumption of red meat has contributed to an increased risk of breast cancer, colon, and kidney.</p>
<p>Hearing these findings, no wonder if many people are turning to <strong>vegetarianism</strong>. Many people consider a diet high in vegetables and fruits sufficient to meet the daily nutritional needs. They think to consume vegetal protein (plant) is considered more secure than animal protein.</p>
<p>If you think so, it&#8217;s not entirely true. After all, meat consumption is still needed to run body&#8217;s vital metabolic functions, in addition to also provide a lot of energy.</p>
<p>The following are three (3) the benefits of meat consumption for health support:</p>
<p>1. Meat contains a large number of <strong>proteins </strong>that are essential for the body. Protein can help improve overall health in addition to other benefits such as improvement and development of body tissues, as well as producing <strong>antibodies </strong>that will protect the body from infection, thereby strengthening the immune system. In essence, because meat contains all essential <strong>amino acids</strong>, they stay in the top as one of the best sources of protein.</p>
<p>2. Beside rich in <strong>nutrients</strong>, meat is the best source of <strong>iron, zinc and selenium.</strong> Iron in hemoglobin has an important function in helping to carry oxygen to various body parts. As for zinc, helps in tissue formation and metabolism. While selenium break down fat and chemicals in the body.</p>
<p>3. Vitamins are essential nutrients that can be met through food intake. <strong>Vitamin A, B and D</strong> could actually be found in meat. The benefits of vitamins are not only promoting eye health, strong teeth and bones but also supported the work of the central nervous system that promotes mental health as well. Not only that, the consumption of meat can also make your skin more healthy.</p></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many people assume that vegetarians belong to a single group of people that does not eat meat or dairy.  But as much as there are different reasons for going vegetarian, the types of vegetarian also vary.  They are classified according to the kind of food they prefer to consume.</p>
<p>A vegetarian is basically defined as someone who does not eat meat, whether it&#8217;s red meat or white meat.  But there are vegetarians who go for a diet that includes dairy products such as milk, eggs and cheese.  This type of vegetarian is called a <strong>lacto ovo vegetarian</strong>. (Lacto is Latin for &#8220;milk,&#8221; ovo is Latins for &#8220;egg&#8221;).  Lacto ovo vegetarians consume eggs, milk, and cheese and other food products that contain these ingredients.  A <strong>lacto vegetarian</strong>, however, consumes milk and cheese products, but does not eat eggs and other foods that contain egg.</p>

<p>A <strong>vegan</strong> is someone who does not eat or use any animal product  or by-product, such as dairy food. A vegan&#8217;s diet is plant-based and  this includes vegetables, nuts, grains and legumes.  They avoid any  product that may have been processed with a substance derived from  animal products.  Veganism is both a diet preference and a lifestyle, as  it strictly adheres to a no-meat diet and a way of life that respects  living things that have blood.</p>
<p><strong>Fruitarians</strong> are another type of vegetarian.  They eat only fruits, because they believe that fruits are a gift from the earth and are the most natural type of food.</p>
<p>All the above mentioned vegetarians eat cooked vegetables, fruits, nuts and legumes.  However, some vegetarians have taken a step further by moving towards a raw food regimen.  Raw food eaters believe that cooking food reduces the significant nutrients already present in its uncooked state. Raw fruits and vegetables, therefore, will provide more vitamins and nutrients to their consumers.</p>
<p>If you ever decide to become a vegetarian, consult a physician or a nutrition expert about the necessary proteins and vitamins you need to maintain good health.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>&#8220;This is not a diet&#8221;,&nbsp;says Kimberly Snyder in her book &#8220;The Beaty Detox Solution&#8221;. Her book was an inspiration to me from the first page I read. She is right about everything! I lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks. </strong></p>
<p>Alright, now for those who do not have time to read this book, you do not have to. You can just follow these simple rules I will give you and it will make an enormous difference in your life. You will say goodbye to gassiness (trust me), bloated stomach, stomach aches, breakouts in your skin, cellulite (that was a big one for me), tiredness&#8230;and the list goes on! Enjoy!</p>
<p>Here we go!</p>
<p>1. <strong>Eat fruits on an empty stomach: </strong></p>
<p>This is very important, because when you eat fruits after&nbsp;foods like starches or proteins, the fruits will ferment in your stomach and will create toxins.</p>
<p>The best time to eat fruits is in the morning! I eat fruits up untill 12pm!</p>
<p>(Vegetables are not the same as fruits. You can eat them when you want to.)</p>
<p><strong>2. Let your body cleanse itself in the morning</strong></p>
<p>Try not to eat right when you wake up, as your body will not have time to cleanse itself. You can take your time to wake up, drink a glass of hot water with lemon, get dressed and then eat only if you are hungry.</p>
<p><strong>3. Starches and proteins do NOT go together:</strong></p>
<p>Eating fruits with starches is OK, eating fruits with proteins is OK, eating vegetables with starches is OK and eating vegetables with proteins is OK.</p>
<p>Eating starches with proteins (even if you eat vegetables with it) is NOT good for you&#8230;I know it is difficult to leave the rice aside when you are having chicken, or leave&nbsp;the&nbsp;meat&nbsp;aside when you are having pasta, but it is possible to get in the habit of it. I did, and I feel so much better!</p>
<p>Eating starches and proteins at the same time is very hard to digest and it takes too much energy. You feel tired after you eat your meal. If you eat both seperately, you will not feel so tired.</p>
<p><strong>4. Eat less often, but eat enough</strong></p>
<p>We all heard that eating often and alot of snacks was good for us because they kept our metabolism &#8220;going&#8221;. However, when we do that, we do not give ourselves a break from digesting, so our energy cannot be used to either repair our hair,&nbsp;heal our scars, and so on.</p>
<p>Eating 3 meals&nbsp;a day with a 3 to 4 hour break between each meal is the best way to go. Make sure you are satisfied and full after one meal, or you will crave snacks.</p>
<p><strong>5. light to heavy</strong></p>
<p>Try to eat light foods like fruits early in the day and eat the heavier foods like meat later in the day. If you do not eat meat, try leaving the starches&nbsp;and proteins for dinner and eating a light lunch, like a salad.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><u>A good menu example:</u></p>
<p>BREAKFAST:</p>
<p>A glass of water with lemon, followed with a celery stick (good alkaline) then a grapefruit</p>
<p>LUCH:</p>
<p>Green salad&nbsp;topped with&nbsp;sunflower seeds and pumkin seeds with a veggy soup or a veggy sandwich (ex: avocado sandwich)</p>
<p>DINNER:</p>
<p>Start with a green salad or veggy sticks (celery, green peppers) and follow with&nbsp;your favorite protein (meat or beans)&nbsp;and veggies (cooked if you prefer).</p>

<p>20 vegetarians can live off of the same land as one meat eater.</p>
<p>Many people are trying to go green to save the earth but &#8220;Meat&#8217;s not green&#8221;</p>
<p>Because of the demand for meat is so high animals are no longer killed humanly.</p>
<p>Animals have bad living conditions when raised and sold for food.</p>
<p>Meat is high in saturated fat making a meat eater more likely to get diabetes and heart disease.</p>
<p>Animal farms cause a lot of unnecessary pollution.</p>
<p>The price of meat continues to increase so the more you cut out of your diet the cheaper your grocery list will be.</p>
<p>Despite what people say there are many more ways to get natural protein that don&#8217;t include eating meat.</p>
<p>You are much more likely to get an illness from your food if you eat meat because animals carry disease.</p>
<p>Vegetarians and vegans get sick less often of meat eaters.</p>
<p>You will be saving lives everyday.</p>
<p><strong>All of the above are food reasons to become a vegetarian. They are also good reasons to become vegan but here are a few more reasons directed more toward being vegan.</strong></p>
<p>Most of the food a vegan eats is fresh food so you know exactly what you are eating.</p>
<p>You are taking foods from an animals that they had to work very hard to create so they would be able to get benefit from it, not you.</p>
<p>You&#8217;re stealing milk from a baby cow (which contains puss)</p>
