Society today is one of convenience and speed. The less time it takes you to complete something the better. Hence if asked whether you want to drive or walk somewhere, the answer will always be to drive. Even if your destination is literally around the corner or just a couple minutes from where you are now, it’s very rare someone will want to take the extra time and effort required to get there.

Okay, now I don’t condone doing anything illegal on the road, and the last thing I’d want to promote with this post is reckless driving, but sometimes bad things happen to good people, and since we’re in a recession the last thing you want to lose is your driver’s license as a result of losing too many demerit points. Now firstly, this is not a free ticket (mind the pun) you will need the cash to pay off the ticket.

Electric cars and trains however are slowly increasing in number. We have now electric cars and buses being used daily in the more advanced countries..Other alternatives like vehicles that use hydrogen as fuel are being developed. The futures of these vehicles are still uncertain. More work need to be done.

About the lighter, humorous side of emergency roadside service (ERS), and some of the funny dialogue I’ve had with people whose cars have broken down on the road. Requiring and providing ERS is a serious endeavour – for the most part. But there’s an oftentimes funny side that is too rarely acknowledged.

It’s outrageous that some of these outdated ordinances are still on the books, and stunning that the silly statutes were passed in the first place.
