In this article helps people to understand bullying and to help how to deal with it.

Bullying is a big problem in today’s society and effects millions of kids & teens. Everyday kids and teens face the challenge of going to school. Many adults, teachers and close friends don’t always see what is going on. Two of the main reasons people are bullied are because of their appearance and social status. Bullies pick on people because of their race, religion and even how the person looks. Some bullies pick on people physically, which can be shoving, punching, tripping, hitting and even in some severe cases sexual assault. Verbal bulling is probably the one used most to tease and even taunt people.

Cyber bullying is bullying that happens through the use of the web and cell phones. It is becoming more popular with bullies as it can go undetected by parents and is easier for them to get away with. Cruel messages or insults can be posted about a person on a website or cruel texts sent to their phone. It is very different from any other bullying as it can go on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Messages can be sent anonymously through the use of cyber bullying. Bullies now can have control over them at school and at home, many teens and kids feel that they can’t get away from them. They can be unwilling to go to school, have little or no confidence and can even have health problems. They feel trapped, scared, lonely, and sad many kids and teens don’t know what to do. They just feel like it is relentless.

People who are being bullied are victimized and are in a state of constant fear. They don’t want to go to school and their health may suffer. My cousin Ava who was bullied was forced to put her lunch in the bin at break time. The bullies watched her do it every day. They even told her who she could and couldn’t be friends with. It went on for weeks and the teachers didn’t even know that it was happening. Ava’s parents finally realised what was going on because she used to go home starving. They questioned her and she told her parents what was happening to her, they were outraged what was happening to their daughter. They went into the school to sort it out, after that the bullies left her alone with the help of the teachers and her parents. This is a classic case of bullying, Ava was too afraid to say anything because they threatened her.

If you have been bullied it may affect you in many ways. You may not want to go to school or may find it hard to concentrate on your homework. You may start eating more or less than usual, having a lack of sleep or even getting sick. You don’t have to feel this way you can do something to stop it. Don’t blame yourself for being bullied; know that it isn’t your fault. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, it helps to talk to people about these issues. Talk to someone you trust like a teacher, parent, friend or even a counsellor. If you are being bullied tell them to stop. Walk away from them, don’t listen just ignore them. If you are being physically hurt try to protect yourself, and try to get away from them. Tell someone you trust that can help you. They will help you deal with the situation and help get the bullying stopped. Stick with friends you trust and know that wouldn’t hurt you.

Genetics being linked to criminal behavior has been an ongoing debate to find supporting evidence that criminal activity can be caused through the inheritance of genes that cause criminal behavior. Some believe that a criminal gene would provide evidence on why individuals chose to commit crime; while others believe that an individual’s choice to commit crime is truly an act of passion and realistic choice. The studies of genetics being linked to criminal behavior include those of twin studies, adopted children studies, and testosterone studies. The results of these studies provide evidence of possible genetic links to crime as well as support evidence that criminal behavior is not inherited. In the event that a criminal gene is proven, it as a result can cause much more responsibilities and factors for police departments and criminal justice professionals to encounter and consider when aiding in the deterrence of crime.

Genetics being linked to criminal behavior and activity has been an ongoing debate for over 40 years since the XYY theory was introduced to the criminal justice world. Many investigators and criminology experts have been analyzing the factors that influence an individual’s criminal behavior, and some of the first research conducted was by Montagle and Walker when they proposed the association between criminality and genetic factors. The research concluded that the XYY genotype was found twenty percent higher amongst prisoners than that of the general population. (GOSAVI, S.R., GAJBE, U.L., MESHRAM, S.W., CHIMURKAR, V.K. 2009). Sense the XYY theory has been introduced there has been a vast amount of studies conducted including twin studies, adoption studies, and testosterone studies that merit the idea that genetics are a source of criminal behavior.

Twin studies have been conducted to evaluate the possibility that genetics can be linked to criminal behavior. Twins studies are conducted by evaluation identical twins and their rates of criminal behavior versus fraternal twins and their rates of criminal behavior to effectively analyze the roles of genetic and environmental factors that contribute to the criminal behavior. After thorough evaluation, researchers discovered that identical twins that suffered from antisocial disorders as children also suffered from it as an adult and that is was most likely genetically inherited from their parents, but when pertaining to general criminal behavior, they discovered that hereditary factors are most likely of little significance to criminal behavior. (Jones, C. M. 2005).

Adoption studies have been conducted evaluating the links between adopted children and criminal behavior to conclude if genetics can be confirmed to cause criminal behavior. These studies analyze both the biological parents and adopted parents to contrast environmental factors that can influence criminal behavior. Some of the first studies conducted were on adopted children that were born from incarcerated females, the evidence showed that the children that were born from incarcerated females had much higher rates of criminal convictions as adults than those that were not born from incarcerated females. Another study conducted was that of children who were born from biological fathers that have a history of committing property crimes. This study was conducted in Demark and found that adopted children whose biological fathers had a history of committing property crimes often committed these types of crimes themselves but did not engage in committing violent crimes.

According to Jones, “Children whose biological fathers had been convicted of property crimes were more likely to engage in similar behavior, when compared to those biological fathers who had been convicted of violent crimes”. The final results of studying the hereditary influences of criminal behavior in adopted children provided evidence that there is in fact an increased risk of criminal behavior in the adoptive children that are born from incarcerated females, and the children with biological fathers that committed property crimes also had higher rates of property crime convictions as adults. (Jones, C. M.2005).

Testosterone studies have also been conducted to analyze the role that testosterone levels influencing aggressive and criminal behavior in men. Because there is a higher rate of male criminal offenders than females, researchers have conducted studies on how much male hormones influence criminal behavior. One of the most commonly known researchers of this topic is James Dabbs Jr. and his finding found that men and women that have high testosterone levels were more prone to commit violent and sexual crimes. (Crime Times.2007). Men that have high levels of testosterone are often found to have more aggression that can lead to violent behavior, substance abuse, high levels of sexual activity, and also problems with authority such as teachers, parents, and employment supervisors. After conducting research on male prisoners the results concluded that inmates who were convicted of crimes that were sexual oriented or violent had higher levels of testosterone than of those male inmates that were convicted of property and drug crimes. (Crime Times.2007).

Some of the strengths that are effectively linked to genetics and crime are those that pertain to adopted children from biological parents that have a criminal history. It has been proven that the adopted children of women whom are incarcerated often inherit traits that influence criminal behavior rates as adults. Also adoptive children whose biological fathers who have a history of committing property crimes often are found to have a high chance of committing property crimes themselves as children or adults, and there are higher rates of property crime convictions of these children as adults. (Jones, C. M.2005). High testosterone levels can be inherited genetically but environmental influences can both raise or lower a man or woman’s testosterone level. The only supporting evidence that high testosterone levels are linked to crime is through aggression not genetics. (Crime Times.2007).

There are many weaknesses in the debate of whether genetics are linked to criminal behavior. The most prominent weakness is that the environment in which the adolescent is raised in can truly influence the chances of criminal behavior. Even if a child is born with a mental illness that provokes criminal behavior, they can receive the care and treatment to deter the chance and teach the child to not engage in criminal activity. (Jones, C. M.2005). On the other hand, in many cases criminals are raised in a loving environment and do not have genetic inheritance to criminal behavior and still chose a life of crime, so as a result criminal behavior cannot at this time be fully linked to genetics. There has been an immense amount of research conducted to find the links between those that have the XYY chromosome versus those with the normal XY chromosomes. It has been proven that there are higher chances of those with XYY chromosomes engaging in criminal behavior than those with the normal XY chromosomes, but no evidence that the chromosomal differences were the complete influence on the offender’s choice to commit crimes. (GOSAVI, S.R., GAJBE, U.L., MESHRAM, S.W., CHIMURKAR, V.K. 2009).

Because genetics and crime has been such a highly debated topic, it is vital that police departments and the criminal justice system consider or dismiss the findings effectively. I believe that police departments should consider genetics being linked to criminal behavior but to be very careful to have supporting physical evidence that proves the crime being committed. I feel that by knowing the possible inherited traits it can help police officers understand an offender better but genetics should not play a key role in explaining why a crime is committed. Therefore, my observation is that genetics should only be used for understand one’s behavior but not one’s criminal actions.

Some of the dangers of suggesting that there is a criminal gene are that more offenders can claim that their genes made them commit criminal offenses. A good example is the insanity plea that exists today, many offenders whom of which are not clinically insane attempt to use the insanity plea to avoid incarceration for the crimes they have committed instead of facing the consequences of their criminal actions. I feel that if proven true that genetics are linked to criminal behavior, there will be more offenders attempting to claim that genetics made them a criminal instead of the fact that they chose to commit the crime due to their interests and lifestyle. Another danger is that because criminal with attempt to use genetics to their benefit it as a result makes the court process of convicting them longer and more costly. I believe that the only time a court proceeding should be drawn out due to genetic factors is when the criminal is proven to be diagnosed with a severe mental illness that caused the crime commit, such as psychopaths.

In my opinion, some of the repercussions that would occur in the field of criminal justice if the existence of the criminal gene is proven to be true is higher rates of criminals claiming the gene made me do it, which as a result creates a much more difficult and lengthy investigation and court process. (Cohen, Patricia.2011). The next repercussion is that of criminals that have already been incarcerated for the crimes they have committed, these criminals that are receiving harsh sentences for violent crimes can turn around and request a trial to plea that genetics was the key component in choosing to commit crime. As a result this could create a mass amount of new trials for violent offenders and slow down court processes of offenders’ current awaiting sentencing. To be stated simply, I believe that if the criminal gene is proven to be true, there will be much more work for those within the criminal justice field because every violent criminal is going to attempted to claim that they genetically were linked to criminal behavior, resulting in the requirement of deeper investigations and higher funding to convict the violent criminals of today and the future.

It was not really a long time ago that if you fitted in the standard of successful individual, and if you played with the rules, and if you got the right credentials at the right University, and ate your soup and your vitamins, you would reach the “American Dream”. That is just not longer true, at least not for a while. Being a young white male Christian with a title from an ivy league university does not guarantee you will be able to hit big as a professional. In fact, many university graduates find themselves in massive debt with no job. Basically that is why the Occupy Wall Street movement began.

All of this started supposedly on September 17, 2011 but actually we have to take into account the rest of the world. The OWS is just the continuation of a cancer that started in the 3rd world countries with the intervention of the IMF and the forceful imposition of its redemption packages. The very same banks that caused the financial crisis that started on 2000 (the press says it started on 2007) were the responsible for the collapse of many nations like Argentina, Ecuador, Japan and many many more.

Sooner of later this sickness had to come home with such a dramatic impact. Reviewing all the evidence, the origin in the US would be with the presidency of Ronald Reagan. Reagan handed the country to the service of the supper rich. Just taking a look to the salaries of workers, these have not increased ever since. Nowadays, the upper 1% of the people in the US takes in nearly a quarter of the nation‘s income. All the growth that has occurred in our country over the last decade or more has gone to the upper 1%. Much of the wealth of this 1% comes from investments in political capital in Washington [Vanity Fair May 2011] The average American worker was taking home $752 a week in late 2010 while the median pay for top executives at 200 big companies last year was $10.8 million. In fact, the gap between chief executive compensation and average US worker pay rose from a ratio of 263 to 1 in 2009 to 325 to 1 on 2010. [Washington Post Aug 31st 2011] It is estimated that 400 US Americans have more wealth than half of all Americans combined. This exclusive group benefited directly or indirectly from the multi-trillion bailout in 2008, and now they have more cash, stock and property than the assets of 155 million Americans combined. Globally, the richest 2% owns more than half the household wealth in the entire world and the richest 10% holds 85% of total.

All the info is taken from the book “Confrontational Poetry”

The widow of a man on United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after being hijacked on 9/11, blasted actor Mark Wahlberg for saying he would have thwarted the terrorists if he had been on one of the four hijacked planes.

Mark Wahlberg, who has since apologized, was being interviewed for the February issue of Men’s Journal when he said he would have saved the plane. The star of “Contraband” and several friends had been booked on Flight 11 from Boston to Los Angeles, which crashed into the World Trade Center, but they changed their reservations when plans changed.

“If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did,” Wahlberg said. “There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.’”

Deena Burnett-Bailey’s husband Thomas Burnett phoned her from the doomed Flight 93, saying, “I know we’re going to die. There’s three of us who are going to do something about it.” The flight from Newark, N.J., to San Francisco crashed, killing all on board.

Burnett-Bailey told TMZ: “Does Mark Wahlberg have a pilot’s license? Then I think hindsight is 20/20 and it’s insignificant to say what you would have done if you weren’t there. The plan for Flight 93 was foiled by heroes. For him to speculate that his presence on board could have stopped everything is silly and disrespectful.”

Wahlberg was quick to issue an apology after hearing of Burnett-Bailey’s outrage.

“I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive, it was certainly not my intention,” he told TMZ. “To suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible.”

Wahlberg, whose Hollywood bachelor lifestyle was the inspiration for HBO’s “Entourage,” also said in Men’s Journal that he has changed his attitude towards life since having children and getting married to longtime girlfriend Rhea Durham in 2009.

“Yeah, a lot of people I thought were my friends were disappointed that I decided to settle down and don’t take them on whirlwind tours of craziness anymore,” Wahlberg told Men’s Journal. “When I was the life of the party, I definitely wanted to bring as many people along for the ride as possible. But sooner or later, you find out who your friends are.”

Wahlberg, 40, said he’s grown up a lot since then.

“Because of Entourage, people think that my life is just a big, wild party. And it is. But these days it’s a big, wild Halloween party or Easter egg party,” he explained. I don’t go out at night anymore. I don’t hang around with the guys. I don’t really play golf. I stopped smoking cigarettes. I stopped smoking pot a lot of years ago, too. I’m focused on my family, my faith, and my work.”

As I read some blogs about SOPA and PIPA, it became crystal clear that the majority of writers are young and know very little about the world we live in. Some blamed SOPA and PIPA for shutting down Wikipedia, Google and some other sites, not understanding the scope of the actions taken in defense of our freedom against tyranny.

I am more than six decades in age; I have been through years of upheaval and have seen the changes of our country, trends in society and in people, in general. People have changed and NOT for the good. The worst of them, I believe, is the ruthless business man or woman, especially the CEOs. Millions of dollars in wages and perks, high living and others just like him or her has changed America and America’s horizon. Now we stand on the precipice of yet another internal danger.

SOPA and PIPA

What is all the controversy about the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA) that are currently before Congress? We have until January 24 to find out and to also discover for ourselves what is really behind these bills and to stop the bills. Where there is smoke, there is fire and the smoke of these bills are obscuring the truth.

Why does the entertainment industry need a couple of over-kill bills to protect their rights? This is like swatting a fly with a Buick. Why hasn’t the entertainment industry done more to protect itself? That protection does not need the big guns of government censorship, destruction of the “offender’s” website, loss of income and credibility, not to mention the harm done to global commerce. Yet, the biggest loss could very well be American freedom.

America

America has always stood for freedom – freedom for the little guy just as well as for the big guy. Now we find that freedom eroded and sliding toward the edge of the abyss. There is entirely too much confusion about these bills. That alone should warn us that smoke is covering the real issues. The old adage, Follow the Money, applies. Who and what are behind these bills? Think for a moment.

See through the smoke. If the government gained control of the Internet via these “benign” and “nothing to worry about” bills, what then could we expect?

First of all, the loss of freedom. We would be told what we could and couldn’t do on our own web sites. We could expect our web sites to be monitored and regulated. We would be expected to back government agendas; to speak against them would mean a shutdown of our web sites.

Secondly, governments have been predictable for centuries; they vacuum money from their people, legally and illegally, in the form of taxes, fees, fines and takeovers. We have seen entirely too many acts of corruption by our leaders. The attitude of the public is blasé. Too many public leaders are crooked; we all know that. The crooked politician or president does not get put out of office, but arrogantly continues, term after term, running up debt and furthering corruption.

Thirdly, the government would control information. When information is controlled, the people are controlled, when the people are controlled, the government can carry on its agenda without obstacles. Soon we would find ourselves no longer in a democracy.

The Predictability of Government

The government already has a stinking track record of “regulating” their own agencies, offices, departments, administrations, programs and others. Remember these debacles?

Waco and the Branch Davidians and the strong-arm use of the federal law system; FEMA in general, FEMA in particular during Katrina; the Social Security loss of funds due to government entities that “borrowed” funds from the Social Security program for their own pet projects and never returned the money. Now it is the impoverished, aged, sick and premature tiny babies that are blamed as a “drain” on Social Security!

What about the health care system? To call it a mess is an understatement. Benefits and other aids are being ripped from those afore-mentioned and given to illegal immigrants who receive benefits not due them because of their illegal status.

We do not allow American prisoners some rights and felons are denied most rights: the right to vote or hold government jobs, and so on. Yes, the government won’t step up to the plate and do something about illegal entry into the U.S., even though our citizens are denied their rights when they have acted illegally. The government’s mishandling of immigration is undermining our economy and our national security.

The government has mishandled money since the first tax was levied in our country. We are already taxed for everything imaginable. Blinded by dollar signs, they are desperate to get their foot in the door of the Internet. From the examples of Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae, the government can’t handle money. Our money. They have never figured out why Americans are forced to live on credit until their cards are maxed.

What about the waste of money in wars? Wars that the U.S. never intended to win. The loss of technology, money, materials and military personnel is an injustice and irresponsible. I recognize that there are times a country must go to war. But it should be under a set of predetermined conditions with a goal in mind.

American Losses

Our country’s men, women and children in the past decade has seen horrid catastrophic weather-related destruction: the tornadoes in Oklahoma and rains, floods, fires, mud slides, tornadoes, hail, drought and hurricanes have battered the nation, racking up commercial losses through business loss and infrastructure damage and loss, loss of property and homes. Loss of citizens, pets, wild life, trees, food crops, gardens, food animals and fowl is heartbreaking.

Countless people are standing their own losses because the government did not deem their situation as grave enough to warrant federal aid.

I could go on. We have been victimized over and over again by our government and its hand in our pocket. Now the government wants to further withdraw money from our accounts by trying to shoulder its way into the Internet. Not just the government, but other dark undercurrents who also are vying for money and power. Undercurrents who fund lobbyists and other powerful groups to force their selfish interests to the forefront. The American citizen is under siege from all directions.

American Victims

Who will suffer the most should these bills be passed into law? The middle income, low income and the poverty level will be affected the most. This is where they find the information they need to make decisions, to find more critical information, to stay abreast of trends, to stay in touch with family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances around the world.

Stand UP, America!

The Internet helps the citizenry to make informed choices in their medical treatments, political candidates, businesses, and much, much more. Further, it is FREE! Since these income brackets — the middle, low and poverty — make up the majority of the population, it stands to reason that these are the most feared. They can make changes! They are a force to be reckoned with.

The marketing and commerce industries already know the value of Facebook, Twitter, Google, Reddit, Tumblr, Yahoo, eBay, Mozilla, Kickstarter, AOL, Zynga, and other social sites that are fertile grounds for advertisements and word of mouth endorsements. The government could impose injurious regulations on American businesses and enterprises.

The government would also gain control of all of these and countless others. Other countries would also play into our government’s hands because of the commerce and shipping prospects.

The Senate will begin voting on January 24. Sign all the online petitions you can find and let them know how you feel about this smokescreen and that you will not fall for their trickery. Write, e-mail and call your congress and senate representatives, your friends, family members and neighbors.

“The team of divers found five bodies in the stern of the ship. They came in through the hole that they blow on that day,” said an official of the island of Giglio, Cristiano Pellegrini as reported by AFP on Tuesday (01/17/2012).

“The bodies had been evacuated by boat,” he explained.

Pellegrini added, is not known the identity of the fifth body. “We do not know whether they are crew or passengers,” said Pellegrini.

The divers used explosives to create a hole in the ship Costa Concordia to search for possible survivors or bodies as well.

Authorities said 29 people still missing after the luxury liner that hit a reef and sank. Until now the death toll reached 11 people.

The ship, dubbed the ‘Titanic Italy’ it hit the rocks when crossing the Giglio Island, Italy. Allegedly the captain. Francesco Schettino, accidentally sailed too close to the mainland because he wanted to ‘greet’ a friend who was on the beach.

So far six people have been found dead in the accident while 15 others remain missing until now.

A paper written discussing the Zodiac killer of San Francisco, the novel, and the movie.

The Zodiac: astrological, a set of codes, watch brand

or a serial killer?

The Zodiac a serial killer who obtained this killer identity from a watch and astrological aspects, but also was able to elude police for many years by sending letters in code that was actually part of a zodiac code. None of the aspects were his original ideas, but the killer was able to cleverly weave those aspects into his own particular identity. Zodiac became the most famous serial killer throughout history due to his ability to elude police. With no solid evidence against the Zodiac police were not able to make any official arrests. The Zodiac continued to covering his tracks through each murder by making sure there were no finger prints, solid foot prints, as well as keeping his identity hidden by his elaborate disguise.

The Zodiac was able to kill and stay on the run from the mid 1960s till he decided to quit sending letters in 1974. He earned a reputation that seemed to fascinate everyone. The San Francisco Police Department received letters from the Zodiac which did not match any hand writing samples obtained from over “2500 suspects”. With that many suspects the SFPD had so many people to investigate it was difficult for them to keep up with each one. Not only was that an issue but the SFPD had so many people claiming that they were the Zodiac that it added to the confusion of eliminating suspects. The SFPD also feared that some would become ‘copy cat killers’ simply because of the Zodiac’s ability to elude police. With so many suspects and people claiming they were the Zodiac, he decided he needed to prove his was legit by including in letters and cards portions of clothing that was torn from his victims that contained blood.

The Zodiac wrote many letters to police stating the murders that he had committed and then further, listing further his intentions. In the Zodiac’s first letter he had killed at least five people that the police knew of, “but claimed responsibility for as many as 17 murders” (9). However, the Zodiac was an obviously knowledgeable man because he would write introducing himself at the beginning of his letters “This is the Zodiac speaking” which suggested that he wanted and craved attention. While he always introduced himself some portions of his letters in code that would have to be deciphered. The code itself was taken from a Zodiac code. Through the coded messages, Zodiac sent scares upon San Francisco, one of the letters stated that he would “shoot the tires off of a school bus and pick the kiddies off one by one as they came bouncing off the bus.” With letters such as this and being from one page to six pages long, often times they contained words misspelled that was only common with the Zodiac. This was one way to tell which ones true Zodiac letters and which were fake letters were sent to police. The Zodiac also enjoyed sending letters mostly to The Chronicle a local newspaper in order to obtain his fame through the headlines. With this letters he portrayed a strong hatred toward police that were often was portrayed toward individual staff of the newspaper. As things progressed he sent threats to these individual people. This portrayed the evident game that the Zodiac enjoyed playing with individuals as well as how he viewed killing. The killings were viewed as a large game. In Graysmith’s novel the author goes into depth on how the Zodiac discussed and possibly used “The Most Dangerous Game” as a motive to killing. This was a movie that came out around the time that the Zodiac began his killings and discussed how the most dangerous game for a hunter was to hunt humans not animals. The Zodiac even included in his letters that he was having fun and that “killing is fun.”

Murders of the Zodiac

· Cheri Jo Bates, 18, Riverside City College October 30, 1966

· Betty Lou Jensen 16, and David Faraday 17, Vallejo CA, December 20, 1968

· Zodiac sent a letter where 5 killings were known to be committed by him, but admitted to 17+ that were unknown.

· Darlene Ferrin, 22, Vallejo CA, near Blue Rock Springs July 4th, 1969

· Cecelia Ann Shepard, 22 a lake near Napa Ca, September 29, 1969

· Paul Stine 29, cab driver in Presidio Heights San Francisco, October 11, 1969. (The last known killing)

· The Zodiac letters continued till 1974.

With the mysterious Zodiac killer investigators believe him to be a hater of women, but also someone who worked or dealt closely with children. Also it was determined from partial foot prints that the Zodiac was a member of the military due to the type of boots that were worn and the only access to them were to the military. With a part of the investigation done by a staff member at The Chronicle was the code books from the zodiac code. After finding out that the Zodiac was military personnel Graysmith checked into the libraries at military bases. He discovered that “all of the Zodiac code books had been stole from numerous libraries” (245); therefore, there was no record what so ever left behind to find who had checked these books out.

After discovering a military connection, the Zodiac sent a letter informing police that aviation glue had been placed on his fingertips to prevent identification based upon fingerprints; therefore, providing another link to the military. However a surviving male victim also described the Zodiacs costume and the intricate sewing work done of the executioner style hood. The one suspect that was determined to be the best match to the Zodiac was an avid skin diver, had military connections, was a pilot and was also known to sew his own sails for his boats. To further lead investigators to Author Leigh Allen was his connection to children through local schools where he worked as a janitor. Allen had all the connections and had also worked through several schools within several counties in California. Each time there were reports of him inappropriately touching students therefore he did not maintain a school related job for long periods of time.

With Allen having so many connections related to numerous counties in which the Zodiac killed, a broken job relationship at school systems police began interviewing him. By this time in the investigation, the Zodiac had become such a well known killer throughout California that the county police stations were competing against each other to catch the Zodiac; therefore, they would not cooperate with other investigators in order to solve the case. They began withholding information from each other and therefore delaying and preventing the actual capture of the Zodiac killer. Graysmith however, was able to realize that Allen while he had been arrested and in rehabilitation was the time frames in which the Zodiac seemed to go into hibernation and there were no letters, nor killings during that time period, which further implicated that he was the Zodiac killer.

The Zodiac killed for many years and continued to elude police, something that has blown the minds of people and investigators for decades. From the time the Zodiac began killing and sending messages police believed that they could quickly solve the murder, but he continued to stay one step ahead. However, according to Robert Graysmith he saw into the eyes of the killer when “he viewed Author Leigh Allen working at a small store” near the site where he killed a cab driver.

Since, the sting of killings by the Zodiac killer; several televised and print media about the Zodiac became well known throughout America. As of today there has been at least one killer who followed in the exact copy cat routine of the Zodiac. The Zodiac ‘copy cat killer’ (Heriberto “Eddie” Seda) murdered from 1990 to 1994 in New York; however, he is currently serving out 236 year term in prison. Seda was not as meticulous as the original Zodiac. The location of the Zodiac is unknown and it is uncertain as to if he is still alive or not; however I question, if the true Zodiac killed in 2010 would he be able to elude police like in the 1960s and 70s?

They even often become targets of intimidation and detention officers, or corrupt government. Report of the organization Reporters Without Borders (RWB) released Wednesday, December 21, 2011, mentions the number of journalists killed this year in the world reached 66 people. This number increased. Last year 57 people. The number of journalists killed ever come from the Middle East and the Americas, followed by Asia, then Africa and Europe.

In addition to being victims of homicide, professional journalists are also vulnerable to violence. RWB this year 1959 journalists writing in the world suffer persecution or threats. A total of 71 journalists were kidnapped, another journalist jailed 1044 local government. Violence and murder in a country also makes the journalist was forced to flee a broad. Reporters who must move to another country there are 73 people. In addition to journalists, civilian journalist on the internet or netizens and bloggers are also victims of violence.

RWB reported, five people were killed netizen. A total of 62 bloggers attacked. Step journalists and bloggers also thwarted the government. Around the world, approximately 499 sensors media experience, while in 68 governments around the world apply strict censorship on the internet. The most dangerous country for journalists in two consecutive years is Pakistan. This year, as many as 10 people were killed in the town of Khuzdar. In addition, Pakistan is also a weak state in law enforcement when it comes to killed against journalists.

CNN reported, one of the journalists killed were Shaz Saleem from Asia Times Online. He was allegedly murdered after revealing a link between al-Qaeda in Pakistan navy. This report is published in the essay book, published after he died. Saleem is just one of dozens who died in this country. The RWB report, the most widely written that journalists were tortured and killed while covering the revolution in several Middle Eastern countries. One is in Cairo, journalists vulnerable to violence from supporters of the mass of Hosni Mubarak.

A total of 20 journalist killed in the region, double the amount compared to 2010. Same amount is also found in Latin America, three out of five were killed in Mexico’s netizens. In various demonstration events in several countries, including Greece, Belarus, Uganda, Chile and United States, journalists became victims of detention. The numbers increased dramatically, from 535 in 2010, to 1044 in 2011. However, China, Iran and Eritrea remained the country was asked to become the most imprisoned journalists. Most of these journalists who reported information considered sensitive, or threaten the ruling party.

“Starting from Tahrir Square in Cairo to Khuzdar in Pakistan, from Mogadishu to the cities in the Philippines, the dangers of working as a journalist during the unstable political situation is greater than ever before in 2011,” wrote RWB. In the report, for the first time, RWB writes cities in 10 countries, most dangerous for journalists. In some countries, journalists became targets of violence, both the government and protesters. In some cases, murder journalists are not punished with a severe or altogether escaped from the iron bars.

The cities that are Manama in Bahrain, Abidjan in Cote d’Ivoire, Tahrir Square Cairoin Egypt, Misrata in Libya, Veracruz in Mexico, Khuzdar in Pakistan, Manila, Cebu and Cagayan de Oro in the Philippines, Mogadishu in Somalia, Deera, Homs and Damascusin Syria, and Sanaa in Yemen. The threat and danger is what makes the United Nations Commission on Human Rights Navi Pillay called this profession one of the most dangerous in the world. But the task of journalism can not be ruled out. According to him, journalists have an important task in the reporting of human rights violations, and poor governance all over the world.

“Journalists victims and their aspirations are suppressed, and contribute to awareness of human rights issues,” Pillay said last October, was quoted by The Guardian. For that, he said, the UN has a duty urged countries worldwide to protect the journalists. In addition, countries must also be an end to protection for perpetrators of violence against journalists.

“Designing a UN action plan for the security of journalists, and stop impunity for perpetrators of violence against them, is very important,” said Pillay.

Anders Behring Breivik, who confessed to the massacre of 77 people in Norway in July, tried in vain to make a show of his first public court appearance Monday, but was blocked from addressing the families of his victims.

The Oslo district court ruled that Behring Breivik would remain in custody until February 6, when a new custody extension hearing will be held, and announced a possible trial start-date of April 16.

The 32-year-old rightwing extremist, wearing a dark suit, white shirt and light blue tie and sporting a narrow beard, asked judge Torkel Nesheim if he could speak to the families “for five minutes,” but was turned down.

It was the first court hearing open to survivors, victims’ family members, the media and the general public since the July 22 killing spree.

After the hearing, his lawyer Geir Lippestad, who had asked that his client be set free, said Behring Breivik had prepared a short note, but that he did not know what he had planned to say.

Behring Breivik also attempted to take advantage of his first public appearance since the attacks to make a speech.

“I am a military commander in a resistance movement,” Behring Breivik said in a calm voice before questioning the legitimacy of the court to try him.

“You have been mandated by those who support multiculturalism. That is a hateful ideology that aims to destroy the Norwegian society,” he told Nesheim, who quickly interrupted him.

The judge said he did not want to offer Behring Breivik “a soap box or an opportunity to justify his actions”.

Appearing calm and with a hint of a smile on his lips, the confessed killer turned repeatedly to look at the crowd in the courtroom, which looked on in stony silence.

The court had initially placed a gag order on reporting Behring Breivik’s words for fear he would turn the hearing into a platform for his far-right ideology, but later lifted the order.

A ban on publishing pictures or video of him remained in effect however.

Behring Breivik has admitted setting off a car bomb outside Norway’s government offices in Oslo on July 22, killing eight people, before going on a shooting rampage on the nearby island of Utoeya where the ruling Labour Party’s youth wing was hosting a summer camp.

Sixty-nine people, mostly teens, died in the shooting massacre.

In a 1,500-page manifesto he published on the Internet just before the attacks, Behring Breivik said he was on a crusade against Islam and professed his hatred for Western-style democracy, saying it had spawned the multicultural society he loathed.

“I acknowledge the facts but I do not plead guilty,” he said, reiterating the line he has taken since his arrest on July 22, describing his actions as “cruel but necessary.”

If a psychiatric evaluation, which is set to conclude this month, finds Behring Breivik fit to be held criminally responsible for his acts, his trial should begin on April 16, 2012 and last about 10 weeks, the Oslo court said.

As in past hearings, Behring Breivik on Monday described his incarceration in virtual isolation as an “irrational torture method”.

Previous custody extension hearings had all been held behind closed doors for fear that Behring Breivik, who has said he acted alone in the July 22 attacks, might communicate with possible accomplices.

As the investigation has progressed, police have said the theory that Behring Breivik had helpers appeared increasingly unlikely.

In addition to extending his custody for three months, the Oslo court ruled Monday that Behring Breivik’s visits and correspondence would be strictly restricted for the first eight weeks and he would have no access to media for the first four weeks of the renewed detention period.

Since the beginning, Behring Breivik has sought as much publicity as possible.

“Our shock attacks are theatre, and theatre is always performed for an audience,” he wrote in his manifesto.

Herman Heggertveit, a young survivor of the Utoeya massacre, attended Monday’s hearing as “a form of therapy.”

“It is very emotional and very difficult. It is like meeting another person,” the young man, wearing a pin with a Labour Party rose, told reporters.

“He is arrogant, sure of himself. He is living in his own little bubble.”

In war no one really wins. all are but victims.

They say that if you want to point finger to your fellow , be sure that the finger is clean ! After that incident that Al Barka incident , both parties are now pin pointing as to who is to be blame ,who initiated and who broke the Peace negotiation and that ceasefire agreement.

The armies were firmed on their stand that it’s the..Moro Islamic Liberation Front( MILF)

who broke the peace process..for the these several reasons , One is the troop was there because they were hunting for that kidnappers who took refuge around the camp of MILF. But the troop was 4 kilometers away from the camp of MILF. Second , they were that far but still the MILF started firing them and so no other thing they were able to do but to fire back. On the other hand , the MILF said that the military attacked blatantly violated existing ceasefire accord.

Who ever started or who don’t it does not make sense now for the truth is, several lives were wasted , several dreams died and and several future were hopeless now. Because of ruthless . heartless ,conscience free deeds many families were shattered , dreams melted, hearts of those who were left squeezed , bursting in pain ,anger and vengeance. Someone said , in war no one really wins all are but a victims !
