Human heads have the functionality to translate and code diverse intricate stimulus like shapes, colors, scents, pictures, components, tastes, languages, feelings etc.

The brain assists not only in identifying between various elements but also in keeping in them in mind. Memory thus, shapes a significant part of the brain.

Nevertheless, since there are a lot of stuffs to remember, it is normal to overlook many of them. Therefore, the saying “utilize it or mislay it” relates to the brains as well.

This implies that if you work out the brain, your memory will be better and you will be able to retain stuffs in memory quite well. There are diverse memory methods for those who are desirous to increase their learning functionality. They are described as follows.

Using Mnemonics

In the Mnemonics strategy complex details are instructed in a simpler form thus making it effortless to keep in thoughts. In this strategy, the details to be recalled are crashed down and protected as easy-to-retain details.

Whereas it may be challenging to remember elements otherwise, on the other hand mnemonics allows keeping in thoughts and remembering details. Normally students use mnemonics to keep in thoughts history times and other details.

They link the date with something that is recognizable and enables them to keep in thoughts the times or incidents effortlessly. Connection, visualization and place are the basic concepts to be used when crafting mnemonics.

Working out the Brain

Work out the brain similarly as the body requires work out to be fit and active, so does the mind require work out to stay sharp and targeted. Carrying out workouts for the thoughts is a sure way to maintain it functioning.

Dealing with crossword questions, number questions and other brain-teasing workouts creates the mind; function and assist remember elements in a better way and for years. When the concentration of the thoughts perks up, the learning functionality boosts up.

Have a sound sleep

Relax is an essential factor of memory. A brain that does not get full relax is unable to focus or stay targeted. This paved way to the details not being understood fully leading to it being overlooked very soon.

Hence, it is imperative that a person relax well to provide respite to the thoughts. A targeted thought is able to maintain elements for years.

Utilize Brain Fully to Retain Information

At times crafting mnemonics or making an effort to retain information in mind, you must use the whole brain. This implies that you should instruct challenging details by using pictures, colors, signs, vibrancy with movement and even spontaneity. Employing these aspects requires the whole brain and allows you remember elements better.

Every one of us has a dream to achieve something, but, most of the time that we have failed to do so. If we can analyze, we can find that, not enough attraction from us to the dream. Law of Attraction is the power of magic that will help your dream become a reality.

We all are using Law of Attraction in some way or the other, where we are aware of it or not. If we want exploit all the hidden possibilities and magical powers of Law of Attraction, then we need to be observant and attract with faith, only what we want. I like to call it, being Power Attractor. Focus the Ends, forget the Means, the more focused we are towards the Ends (what we want) the faster Means (how to get what we want) will follow. The most important thing we need to understand the of manifestation, of what we want may not the way we think them to be, but it’s surely guaranteed that things will manifest, all we need to do is, to be observant enough to recognize and to be thankful for the manifestation.

The Law of Attraction states: I attract to myself, whatever I give my focus, attention or energy to; whether wanted or unwanted. If you think about being broke, poor, lonely and believe your thoughts guess what? That is exactly what you’ll be. This Law applies to your life and every other person’s life on the planet. Like all laws, it is impartial and impersonal, which means it works when you want it to and when you do not want it to.

Everything comes to us through the most elemental law of physics – Like Attracts Like! Like Attracts Like is nothing more than the Law of Attraction. It is absolute and has nothing to do with your personality, your religious belief, being a “good” or a “bad” person or anything else. No one lives beyond this law. It is an unquestionable law of the universe.

James Allen has quoted in his book “As a Man Thinketh”, “Circumstance does not make the man: it reveals him to himself.

So, imagine starting to believe in yourself and your infinite possibilities. Imagine believing you deserve everything you want out of life. Imagine getting everything you want out of life.

Once you apply Law of Attraction everything is possible.

Try It and Good Luck!

A story of how I become a millionaire... This is a visualization exercise to help visualize obtaining wealth and abundance manifestation. This is just one of the ways (out of an infinite number of possibilities) that I have visualized for myself. Writing a story like this is important for getting the FEELING of receiving it. The actual scenario may be completely different from what you put in your story, so focus on your gratitude for receiving more than the "how".

So I woke up this morning like any other morning, dragging my feet to the coffee maker. My 3 year old daughter usually sneaks into our bed in the middle of the night, and often acts as our alarm clock on my days off. again, today was no different. I put a movie on to keep her occupied while my wife and I stepped outside for our morning cigarette. It was only about eight o’clock in the morning, but the Arizona sun was already getting hot. Even my dog was ready to go back inside before we finished our cigarette. Since the hard part of the day – waking up – was over, it was time for me to begin my day of doing homework. I was just starting to check my emails when I heard an unexpected knock on the door. My first thought was more of a panic. The house was a mess, and my daughter, wife, and myself were all still lounging around in our pajamas. I was actually hoping that it would just be the neighbor asking for a cigarette; since we usually just hand it to them at the door. Yep, I thought it was just a typical day-off morning.

Since we usually just hand the cigarette to our neighbor through the door, my wife answered the door ready with a cigarette in hand. I was in my office, still trying to get through all the emails from my on-line class’s discussion forum, paying little attention to the conversation at the door. That is, until I heard the words “Oh…oh my god! Hang on just one minute, I’m sorry, the house is a mess and we’re all still in our pajamas!” and quickly realized it was probably not just our neighbor asking for a cigarette. My wife came running into my office, excited and pale. At first It was the cops or something bad, but the giant smile on my wife’s face told me not to worry. She frantically explained that at our front door, was the publisher’s clearing house prize patrol, and I nearly had a heart attack. It was kind of like that feeling you get the first time on a roller coaster, or skydiving. I didn’t know what to do, say, or think. I was stunned! Totally! I quickly put on some slippers and ran out the door to greet my new best friends while my wife struggled to get herself and the kiddo dressed and ready to be on camera. The Camera was the first thing I saw when I ran outside my house, and I soon realized I should have changed as well; or at the very least, a quick shave would have been helpful. However, the second thing I noticed was the big, giant check for ten million dollars, and I thought to myself, “I just won ten million dollars – who cares what I look like!”. Oh, the way it felt to have something like this fall into my lap was more than I can describe in a single article!

My hands were trembling throughout the entire video interview and photo shoot with the big giant check. I wondered if my bank teller had ever had to cash a check this large. I assumed they hadn’t yet, and began to wonder where they would put such a big check; and also, should I endorse it with my normal signature, or should I make my endorsement proportionate to the size of the check? They informed me that the giant check was just for show, and that I would recieve the real payment in 7-10 days, via direct deposit, minus taxes. After completing all of the ‘winner forms’, the whole prize patrol crew shook all of our hands, and gave my daughter a cherry sucker – her favorite. And then they were gone – in a matter of minutes. Just ilke that, my dream came knocking on my door, then its messengers left us all in shock and awe. I had so much going through my mind at that moment, I almost needed a nap – just to help it all soak in! I know at one point I pinched myself just to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.

It didn’t take long for it to hit me, that this was not just luck, and was not just a coincidence. This was the works of the law of attraction. I had been trying to manifest becoming a millionaire since I realized it was even a remote possibility. After many successful attempts with ’smaller’ or ‘easier’ goals, and not so much with the big ones, I decided to step back for a minute and re-align my goals, and decide what else could be holding me back. After doing so, I had determined what I thought was a reasonable goal. I was going to set the intention in motion, that I was going to attract ten million dollars into my life! Here’s where it gets weird; it had only been a couple days since I had come to this conclusive intention, before I got an unusual pop-up on my computer for this very sweep-stake advertisement. The pop up was actually for two sweepstakes: one for five thousand dollars a week for life, and another for ten million dollars. I clicked on it, and was immediately sickened to see the same old magazine advertisements my grandma used to get for the same publisher’s clearing house. I thought to myself “There is no way in hell I’m getting sucked into buying a bunch of magazines just to try and win…”. I clicked the exit button without hesitation, and went about my merry way not thinking twice about it until the very next day, when I got the same pop up – out of nowhere. I don’t even know why I looked at it again, this second time, but I did. After a little closer examination of the page, I discovered a disclaimer at the bottom stating that no purchase was necessary, and that a purchase does not increase your chances of winning. After seeing this, I figured “what the hell, why not?”, and started signing up for just about every entry that came my way, even if it was ’spam’, and even if it was for the same exact giveaway (I also figured if they let me, then it could only help, after all). I did this, repeatedly, for about a month. All while telling myself that it was for me; it was mine, Indefinitely. I was almost so pushy about it, I felt like I was my own coach, pushing myself through the game – head on, like there was no way I could loose.

All of this and more swam in my head for the next ten days. Then the most shocking part of it all, was seeing it physically in my account! I really had a hard time believing my eyes the first few times I looked at it. I was so overwhelmed with gratitude for this golden egg of opportunity falling into my lap. As soon as I got home, I dug out my checkbook, dusted it off, and started writing checks; first to those I owed(credit debt, etc), then to my closest loved ones, then to those I knew that could use a break, and then to some charities that meant a lot to me. When I looked at what I still had left on my ledger, I wrote checks to my enemies – not to make up, but just because I had seen that they were in need and I was able to, through gratitude, look past our transgressions and not play favorites. I then looked at the amount I had left for myself, which was still more than enough to get the rest of my aspirations in motion, and every powerful intention to do so, because I had now just seen the power of the law of attraction, and knew that no matter what, I can and will accomplish everything I intend to.

According to former CIA Analyst Morgan D. Jones in his book, "The Thinker's Toolkit," our brains, though designed for survival, are deficient when it comes to solving complex problems. He offers some complicated ways to get around our evolutionary shortcomings, but there are even simpler ways to effectively solve problems.

Although our brains are structured to respond to problems instinctively, and this has helped humans survive and dominant other species, subconsciously, the way we solve problems inhibits creative, objective, comprehensive, and accurate analysis. Or, so says author and former CIA analyst Morgan D. Jones in his book “The Thinker’s Toolkit: 14 Powerful Techniques for Problem Solving.” Jones argues that using the analytical methods outlined in his book, we would be more effective in solving even the most complex problems, but says the human brain unconsciously objects to such a rational approach to solving problems. He offers 14 analytical techniques that, if used properly, can lead to much more success in developing solutions to many of the problems we encounter in our daily lives and work.

The problem, as I see it, is that Jones is correct; most of the time we need solutions to problems “now,” and don’t have the time or patience to go through all the steps he so clearly outlines. Take the Utility Matrix he describes in chapter 15, for instance. If you want to decide which make of car to buy, it is unlikely that you’re going to take the time to go through all the steps in constructing the successive matrices with the assigned values he describes. Nor, when trying to chose between taking physics or analytical chemistry next semester are you likely to look forward to doing the Probability Tree he outlines in chapter 13. Let’s face it, the thought of sitting at your kitchen table filling out matrices, drawing decision trees, or figuring probabilities is likely to make you want to drop out and join a commune instead.

Having said that, though, Jones is on to something. We do need a better method than flipping a coin to solve the problems that bedevil us. If you’re lazy like me there’s a way to meet in the middle and improve your success rate in solving problems. And, you don’t have to kill a small forest or give yourself a headache in the process.

Measure Twice and Cut Once – Or, Don’t Cut at All

The weakness of Jones’s methods is that they require you to do a lot of calculations. Some of the things he recommends, though, can be accomplished mentally. Accurately defining your problem, for instance, is always a good idea, and this can be done without a lot of writing. The first step when you think you’re faced with an obstacle is to stop and make sure you know what the problem is. In his book Jones uses the example of the guy who found a puddle in his water bed and assumed it had a leak. After attempting to fix the leak and destroying his bed, he discovered that he actually had a leak in the ceiling. Had he stopped and looked around a bit before jumping to a conclusion, the results would have been less costly.

Try Visualizing a Solution

Effective athletes use the technique of visualization to improve their performance. This can also be used for solving problems. Once you’ve done the mental gymnastics to figure out what the problem really is, try to visualize how you’d go about solving it rather than jumping into a knee-jerk solution. You might just amaze yourself at the results you get with this technique.

Reverse Mental Analysis

Reverse engineering is a process of taking a finished product and analyzing backwards to figure out how it is constructed. If you have a problem, instead of trying to solve it, first try to mentally determine how it arose. Sometimes, in the process of figuring out what caused a problem the solution presents itself.

Argue for the Opposition

A favorite technique I remember from high school debate classes was to have students prepare a position for a debate and then have them argue the opposite of the position they worked on. We humans have a tendency to become entrenched in our beliefs and find it difficult to empathize with the opposition. By getting out of our ego-driven comfort zone we can discover the weaknesses in our arguments and learn to see other points of view, useful mental traits when we’re faced with problems that sometimes require creative solutions.

This is not an exhaustive list of problem solving techniques for the lazy or for those who shudder at the thought of having to manipulate numbers more complex than balancing a checkbook, but it should get you started. Actually, Jones has hit it on the head – to be more effective at getting to answers to our problems, we have to discipline our brains not to go into its default ‘fight or flight’ mode when we’re faced with a problem, but instead, to mentally step back and look for solutions that work. Trying these methods, which don’t involve math, will get you started on disciplining yourself and doing the kind of ‘out of the box’ thinking that gives you solutions rather than making the problems worse – and, you don’t have to kill any trees in the process.

This article highlights the positive benefits of daydreaming.

Daydreaming is a common experience for the majority of people at intervals throughout the day.

However, there are also different trains of thought regarding whether or not this is a useful or harmful pursuit if indulged in to a great extent Daydreaming can sometimes be a way of escaping from a situation which causes stress or unpleasant feelings Some people hold the belief that daydreaming can alter a person’s sense of reality. It may be such a distraction that the person can become so occupied with what is going on inside his own head that he becomes gradually more withdrawn and isolated from others and what is going on around him. The person has disappeared into the world of his own imagination.

Children who daydream are sometimes thought to be sad or lonely. They have chosen to escape into a world of fantasy where they can have what they want. The same views are often held regarding children who have imaginary friends.

When one of my children, the third of four started to have an imaginary friend called James, I at first felt quite sad and as though I had let him down. Had I got so involved with my two older children that he was missing out? Very quickly I came to realise that he was still a happy little boy and this new friend did not interfere with the normal pattern to his day. It was just an extra.

At meal times, he would sometimes say that he was not having anything as we had not set a place for James. At other times we would include him and be asked whether we were making a fool of him by doing this His friend offered both companionship and entertainment, which kept us all amused.

We would sometimes watch them interacting and his play behaviour revealed that the imaginary friend was being used in a very adaptive way from which he would learn a lot about life skills and optional ways of dealing with situations. If he did something which he was likely to get into trouble for, he would sometimes blame the imaginary friend. He was obviously able to distinguish between what was good and bad and did not really want to be perceived as being bad.

(This is well demonstrated in the film “Drop dead Fred”.)

My little boy enjoyed this special friendship which was brief and he was allowed to grow out of it naturally. He is now eighteen and we sometimes still talk about this friend with affection. Joey himself is a very creative person and I think that his imaginary friendship may have been an early indicator of this.

Since I myself have always talked to my dogs and other animals, it would certainly have been a case of double standards if James had been actively discouraged from our lives. I think daydreaming like imaginary friendships can increase opportunity for creativity.

Day dreaming can be seen as a form of visualization, which creates what you want from the full range of senses involved. It can allow you to do the things which you wouldn’t normally do in real life, provide the opportunity to take up roles which you would not otherwise do and give you the scope to return to situations of your choice time and time again. A big positive about day dreaming, is that it allows us to deal with difficult situations in a protected environment.

I day dream frequently whilst out with my dog (probably not the most sensible time to do this) and also when I am swimming fifty lengths a number of times weekly. This is economical for me in terms of time .The cognitive rehearsal of situations which crop up or are likely to crop up in the future, mean that I am more prepared to deal with them in a way which I assume will work out well .I can look at information from past experiences. I can generate new ideas, look at what works, what doesn’t, deal with my emotions regarding this and also be aware of changes I may have to make. It can be seen as a way of brainstorming for ideas. (Apologies to anyone I offend by using this term. I was recently told it is no longer politically correct but know of no other way to adequately describe the technique!)

When used after the event, it can be beneficial as a way of helping to rationalise the outcome .When things go wrong, some people tend to think at least initially that it was down to something they did or did not do. This technique can also help people to consider alternative explanations and come up with external attributions therefore allowing them to think less badly of themselves. Daydreaming can result in more information coming to light, necessary before a decision can be made. Daydreaming can encourage creative thinking, planning out of ideas, motivation and help elicit goals. Further examination of plans and steps to be taken can optimise the chances of them working out in a positive way.

From my experience of working in the mental health arena, I would say that the confusion of reality with imagination is uncommon amongst healthy people.

If you are someone who loses time by daydreaming when in the shower, pass a tree and get caught up in trying to work out how many leaves are on it, or have ideas about the ideal biosphere for the future, don’t worry. Try to see your behaviour as normal and if you can, tap into your creative ability, see it as a gift and use it to enhance life for you.

This article was submitted by Mary Lennox an experienced counsellor and intuitive life coach. The combination of her education, career background and life experiences enable her to have an empathic understanding across abroad spectrum of circumstances.

Many people wonder why visualization works for others, but not them. What am I doing wrong? They may follow the advice given by professionals or experts on ways to attract love, financial success or prosperity, but what happens when you don’t see results? Is there something you’re missing? Creative visualization is in simplest terms, a way to make your dreams come true just by controlling the thoughts that come into your mind. Referred to some as having a genie at your disposal, creative visualization works quickly and effectively with the right amount of skill and practice. Creative visualization is also finicky and although you may be controlling some thoughts in your mind, other negative thoughts in your subconscious may be creeping up without you being aware of it. Here are some things to remember as you improve on your visualization skills and make all of worldly ambitions come true!

If you want more money in your life, its important to practice a good imagination with some tips of visualization at the same time. For example, if you want a life of abundance where you no longer have to worry about whether you can pay your bills then you will need to send thoughts of positive thinking by replacing the negative thoughts you have of money. For example, if you are used to having less than $100 in your bank account right before you get paid again and you think thoughts like, ” I am always running short on cash” or “I can’t buy this or that”, get rid of those thoughts as quick as possible. Any time you have a thought about the limited amount of money you do have, replace it with a thought of abundance such as “I can buy this!” or “I have an constant flow of cash that supports anything I need to buy.” By replacing the negative with a positive, you are quickly on your way to manifesting in life what your thoughts are sending out!

When it comes to love, everyone wants passion, desire and companionship in their life. It could be that you are looking for a life partner or aspire to have a healthy relationship as opposed to the complications of your current one. No matter what your idea of the ideal romantic relationship is, you can and will manifest whatever messages your mind is sending you. Say you go on a date that doesn’t go well. If you tell yourself mind messages such as, “well, that’s no surprise!” or “here goes another awful dating experience,” that’s all you will ever experience because your negative thoughts are leading you down the path to a negative experience. Start transforming your negative thoughts with positive messages and life with manifest your dreams. Do you want to meet your future husband and start a life together? Do you envision a date that goes well? Begin practicing positive thoughts and in your mind with as many details as possible, imagine what that feels like. What are you wearing on your first date out? How do you feel? What do you order at the restaurant for dinner?

The term “reality” is an interesting concept and many people don’t realize that reality is actually in the hands of the beholder. Change your focus and change your life. If you want to increase your career opportunities for example, don’t just keep telling yourself the same thing over and over of, “I can’t do this,” or “it’s too hard or impossible to achieve.” Tell yourself the opposite and watch your “reality” change right before your eyes. Improve anything in your life, from your finances to romance to money and like magic your perception caused by strong positive thinking will turn your current situation around. Whether you struggle with poor body image and dream of losing those last 20 pounds and wonder whether you can really do it or not, you will. Whatever you decide to have happen for yourself, you will and that’s the power of creative visualization. Be as creative in your mind as you can for the things that you aspire to have happen and they will. With some time and practice, you can improve visualization and live the life you have always wanted to.

Two forces are always at work in human life viz. Faith and Fear. The outcome of any event you face depends on whether you keep faith or have fear. This article throws a light on these two forces at work in our lives.

Faith vs. Fear

Introduction Two opposing forces are always at work in our lives whether we are conscious of them or not. One of the forces is positive and called, faith. When you believe that events are ultimately going to turn for your benefit and good in the long run, the force that’s exerting a force on your life is called – Faith. But when you believe that events are not going to turn in to your favor or your life will be a mess at the end of it, you are under the clutches of the force called – Fear. The outcome depends on our choice what do we believe and give attention to. Let’s look at them.

Faith: When you learn to look hopefully beyond the perception of your five senses and believe that the end would be better than the beginning you are in other words keeping faith. As the Victorian Era poet, Robert Browning said, “Grow old with me; For the best is yet to be.” The Bible, gives definition of the term faith, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things unseen.” To put in simple terms, ‘Faith is touching the intangible; seeing the invisible, hearing the unheard, smelling the un- smelt and tasting the un- tasted.’ We should remember that what we experience with our five senses is just a fact, not the truth. By that I mean, it is just the present situation that we see, but it is subject to change. “Change is the only constant in the Universe.” So the facts are subject to change. Let me illustrate, at present your situation may be tough one to say. You may be in financial debt, or you may be out of a job or you may have failed at a business venture. But this situation is subject to change in coming days. It won’t remain the same, you may strike a deal and clear all of your debts and be well-off, you may get a better job in all respects or you may try a new venture and succeed at it. The further outcome could be better or worse and that is where Faith and Fear come into picture. So it is very important that we look beyond the facts to the truth and we look at it with eyes of Faith and not Fear for what you see in the eyes of your mind, you will one day see it with your physical eyes too.

Fear: Faith inverted is Fear. Fear is also looking beyond the fact that your five senses present to you. But it is looking with dismay, hopelessness and expectancy of failure. Fear will attract your future but it won’t be desirable. Many of us go out in the world expecting worse things every day. We fear that we will lose our jobs due to recession, or we will fail in the business venture, our relations won’t work, somebody will take disadvantage of us etc. We then imagine strange things with our minds. We see the picture, hear the sounds, smell the aroma, but our imagination is bringing to our notice all that is bleak and dark. What you expect is what you get or as Jesus said, “According to your faith be it done unto you.” So, if you have your faith inverted (Fear), you will get accordingly.

Conclusion: Now there’s a time period between you keeping faith in something or fearing something and thing to manifest. This gap is what gives us second chance to change our outlook so that we can change the outcome. So if you don’t want to be in debt or you don’t want to lose the job or you don’t want to relation to break, you got work yourself from fear to faith. You got change how you look with your mind’s eyes. It’s like changing the channel of the T.V. if you don’t want see a certain program, you switch on to something else. If you don’t want your fears to come true, you switch on to faith.

There’s a story of a Chinese farmer, He lived in small house with a small family. One day a horse came near their courtyard. According to the law of the land, the horse now belonged to them. So the farmer’s son was delighted and over excited. He exclaimed to his father, “Look father, we’ve got a new horse!” The father calmly replied, “We don’t know what will come next.” After some days the horse ran away to the dismay of the son. He sorrowfully exclaimed and cried, “Oh! I’ve lost my dear horse. The father calmly replied, “We don’t know what will happen next.”After two days the horse returned with four more horses! The son jumped with joy and exclaimed, Wow! We are rich. The father calmly replied, “We don’t know what will happen next.” After some days when the son was enjoying his ride on one of the horses, he fell down and broke his leg. He lamented, “Oh father! I am so unlucky I’ve broken my leg in this young age. When people at my age are active and running, I have to be on the bed.” The father calmly replied, “We don’t know what will happen next.” After some days the king of the land went for a war, he ordered that all the young men of the country should be recruited in the royal army. When the soldiers came to this farmer’s village and his house, they found his son to be invalid for the war. So they did not recruit him and his life was spared.

The moral of the story is that things that you see at present are just facts and can change. Nothing is permanent. But you can influence the outcome by trusting the good, keeping the faith.

Keep the faith

Sohan.

Next to last in the How Occlumency Saved My Sanity series, where I describe the razing of my old mind and the building of the new one, and introduce my next series, an offshoot from this one.

Hello again, my lucky little ducks! This time you get two parts in one! I’m very excited I was able to condense it into only this many parts- only one installment left and then you can move on the next bits, where I describe (in long short story form) what my mind looks like these days, and of course the accompanying descriptions of each room and the purpose it serves in keeping me stable and happy- as stable and happy as I get, anyway.

Cleaning House

This is where the heavy visualization aspect came in. it was very hard, and gave me quite the headache, since visualizing what needed to be there- or not be there- required focus, which was something I didn’t really have at that moment.

There were a ton of ruined building, and stuff that may or may not have been buildings. I don’t suspect I’ll ever know what they were, and at this point I really don’t care, because I like what I have better. Any road, these buildings needed to go, like five minutes ago. So, I visualized until my head hurt, literally. I stood in my mental world and imagined that with each sweep of my arms I gathered up the stray bricks and pieces of plaster, and demolished what little of the world was still standing when it was left. I gathered everything into a neat little pile, and burned the whole thing to the ground. It needed to leave my mind, and I couldn’t come up with anything better to get rid of it.

When that was finished, I took a sledgehammer (wrestling fan) and pounded the ground with it until it broke and the pieces all fell away into the blackness. I could see the faint outline of the room my counterparts were in underneath my feet, but I didn’t worry about that just yet.

The Reconstruction Era

Now that there was nothing in my mental picture, I could worry about putting something there. This was a lot easier on the visualization, because what I wanted just came to me like magic, like creating things like this was a thing I did every day.

First I built a floor. Nice, hard wood flooring covered by a thin mottled purple carpet with flecks of blue and green and gray in it, in muted colors and very professional-looking. I built a wall in front of this, and put two frosted glass doors in the middle of the wall. Thus was the entrance to my deeper mind born. I built the rest from the inside, creating a large enclosed space rather reminiscent of a small warehouse with light beige walls and carpeting. I turned to the back wall and brought my hand toward me, causing the beginnings of a second floor to jut out from the wall. I brought out the back wall above the horizontal partition just enough to add rooms, and left it without a railing in a balcony style. The room felt a little stifled, so I made an L-shaped addition in the same manner along the wall to my left. Stairs and several carved-out empty rooms later, I began building. I was feeling calmer by the time the building was finished, much calmer, and I felt like there was finally solid ground under my feet. I let my counterparts out to choose and decorate their rooms as they wished, while I created several important rooms that I will describe in separate articles. Their functions in relation to the original topic of Occlumency will quickly become apparent.

One more in this series, then start looking out for the other articles I mentioned up top!
