We must be ever vigilant in our choice at the polls. We do have power and we must use it diligently. Each of us has a responsibility to use our awesome power to the best of our ability. Our differences can be our strength.

I don’t want my vote going to people who run for office that have made their way up the ladder by taking, taking and wanting more. I would rather vote for good leadership and honest representation from a politician that has given, given and wants to give more. What was wrong with the little, white frame house in Springfield Illinois where Abe Lincoln lived? It was big enough for him; it should be big enough for any of today’s leaders.

I look at those who run for office and see who and what they really represent. Some look out for their friends and those with power and those who can give back in return. Many politicians have personal and business connections with big money. Who do you think has their ear after they are elected? I am tired of the attitude; you want a bridge to nowhere? We can do that. You want to drill oil in the Indian’s back yard? We can do that too. You want to have more smoke stacks? We can do that, it might cost you more? Politics and political history being what it is, we will always have some influence peddling, some negotiations of give and take with representation with local and business leaning, but we accept that when justice and equality are also present. We must get the personal agendas and hidden graft out of our bills and riders which has gone too far in recent politics. We have a divided nation and a divided congress.

We live in the greatest country in the world, not because of those who have led us over the past thirty years, but because of our founding principles, our constitution, the rule of law spiced with consideration, trust, fairness, decency, family, and for the good of all, by a government established for the people (not just the rich and powerful) by the people, (farmers, hunters and workers) and of the people, (not just those with influential connections.) We need leaders who have made jobs for people and not destroyed them. We need leaders who work to protect our American way of life.

When I look at any politician running for office, I look at his family, his work history, his past offerings and what he has accomplished as a citizen and not as a tyrant in either business or politics. I look for a person who understands me and what I have to go through to make my way through life. I want leaders that look at the bottom ninety percent of the citizenry first and the top ten percent second. It goes without saying that government support of the top ten percent often is passed down to the bottom ninety percent.

I don’t vote for a person because of how much tax he pays, how big his house is or how many cars he has. I don’t care if he has one vacation home or five, that might be an indication of how hard he works and what he can offer in the future. I want to know what he has done for America, you and me.

Rather, I would want to see how a politician made his money to buy his vacation homes, fill his political war chest, etc. There must be a reason why big business will give millions and millions to campaigns to get a certain person in office, a selfish reason I would judge. How can the ten dollars from a widow or a disabled vet compete with that? I don’t begrudge big business, we need them, we need more of them, but I like to see the businessman that sells his vacation home during a slow down or economic depression so that his workers won’t be laid off. Yes, we have business owners that do that. I would rather see a businessman pay his idle workers and help them find other jobs until business picks up again. I like the business that offers health insurance, tuition aid and family counseling and a host of other things instead of using company money to attract influential friends, lobbyists, and to offer huge sums to campaign blocks. And just as I like the business that takes care of the worker, I like the politician that uses his efforts for all the people. Why in the world would a business dealing with the government want a certain politician in office anyway? Isn’t that overpowering the small voter? Campaigns should be run on merit instead of money. Does it take money and advertising at the rate we see today to put an honest and dedicated man into office? We should elect our leaders by a more reliable method such as past experience and dedication to the American way of life, not just for a few Americans, but for all Americans. It is my humble opinion that our early founders believed in a power greater than eternity itself, I can respect that and really appreciate a leader who feels that he is not that power, but yields to a force greater than any one of us. We should have the right to believe the way we want to and that includes those who believe differently than I do. Each individual must council his own mind.

Deciding who will run your government should not be taken casually, but with great passion. The leader(s) you vote for should not be a cut and dried decision because of the party our grandparents voted for. But we should choose on the merits of the party and that of those who will lead that party today. Party principles are very important, and leaders of both parties have been proven to be good for America. We can only hope that America has informed, rational, and interested voters who understands that money and advertising is trying to buy the American way of life. Party politics must be considered in our decision making process. We have such an impasse when our represented leaders stand in the way of progress just to make the other party look bad. Winning an argument is not worth destroying our government.

Dr Robert E McGinnis – Author for over thrity years.Open the door to your mind.

Throughout my voting history I have voted equally as much for one party as I have the other. My voting history is a split ticket from the top to the bottom. I do my best to vote for the cause and not the glamor, for the man and not the promise. Think about it, who does your candidate really represent?

Who should be sitting in the Oval Office when all the dust settles - seeing past the smoke and mirrors to the real people behind the public figures...

Obama has been the subject of a smear campaign and on the receiving end of the whims of an ignorant and ungrateful general public – one that is misinformed, overblown, and overbearing. Despite everything, he drags the economy along with bloodied hands and grim determination.

The public, if it is wise, has seen the error of its ways, slowing down the rates of growth and recovery from the Great Recession by splitting the House between Democrats and Republicans. Let not forget the ills the GOP has put the economy to over the past year – risking default and ominous tax situations, all in the bid to discredit the incumbent; let not forget the nominee-apparent, an exposed money-monger who would starve out several hungry families in order to make and keep a quick buck, who would not file or reveal his tax returns, and who would shamelessly proffer a bet on national television for an amount many American homes would not see (much less spend) in a year. Oust the GOP – from the House; keep the GOP – from the Office.

Thankfully, America is learning a lesson that has come long and hard, that looks beyond racial and economic disparity, past the ignorance of subscribing to the media, and past blind argument based on feelings. Thankfully, America is learning a lesson that allows her to vote for the person who is right and on the right track, not for a party or an ideaology, but for truth, justice and the American way. Thankfully, America knows what to do next.

Image via Wikipedia

Vote not the Democratic Party nor the Republican; vote not for media propaganda or wealth and affluence; vote not with your belly or your worries about the future. Vote with faith and hope that the America that once was lives still and will rise again from the ashes of a crippling Great Recession.

The 2012 Presidential Race.

Tennessee state law requires a photo identification along with a voters registration card to vote in this election.

A new law has been passed hindering the right to vote, or making it harder to vote by requiring a photo identification at the polls. Do you have to show a drivers license to get a voter registration card? No big deal every one has a drivers licence with a photo, or can get one. If your a legal citizen. That’s the idea of requiring another step with out justification. This makes the law hard to understand. Why? Who is voting twice and changing identification to do it? Could thousands of voters have double identity and gaming the voting system. I don’t think so. If any one is gaming the system it’s the politicians. There are too many check points for voters at the booth. First the voters Registration Card, then your name has to be looked up in the book and verified, and the voter signs their name. There may be more rules, so why another one? Could this be party related to the Republican Political Strategy to gain control of voting by rearranging voting districts and passing laws making it harder for minorities to vote. Would this give Republicans an upper hand in this election year? Once politics became a career for many candidates the laws start changing to protect the political job or position. That’s why there are no cuts in pay for political offices and no elimination of political offices. Even when budgets demand cuts, those are not an option by law. Any way. If both political parties would front candidates worthy voting for, the game would much more fun. Thanks Jon B. Hillbilly

My very angry views on our present government and my country.

Why don’t we have a choice in what happens to our country?

This to you may seem a very stupid or at least naïve question? We do have a choice in what happens to our country, as in we have a one man or woman vote if you are over the age of 18. However I really feel this is a travesty a misnomer? I have absolutely no choice in what happens to my country and moreover my life. Democracy yes and yes again I want a democracy. However we have the merest of say in what happens in our day to day lives.

All I can see me having as a voter is a choice to tick Conservative or tick Labour at the general election. Once my vote has been cast that’s it game over. I as a British citizen am mute till the next election being local or general. Let me try in my own naive way explain my stance. Officially there is a world wide economic recession yes? I think we all agree this has happened and will continue to happen for some time to come.

So are we in Britain tightening our belts? Well yes the average citizen has to. Food and utilities prices are soaring out of control as is fuel I.e. Petrol Diesel. Amidst these austere times what do we do? We bomb Libya for months! How much do smart bombs and Tomahawk cruise missiles cost? Well we won’t ever know will we? The government won’t tell us how much our intervention in Libya cost Britain? Surely when a country is broke we should return to the 1980’s idiom of,

“Do not fire until fired upon”

We parked a Royal Navy nuclear submarine off the coast of Libya, how much? Then we hear,

“Disability benefit along with Incapacity benefit are here forthwith scrapped”

I was registered disabled, I am disabled however I now although been registered disabled only two years ago have to prove again I’m disabled. However I can’t be as disability benefit has gone. Our benefit system has been a standing joke across the world for many years. Why do you think so many immigrants want to live in Britain? You do the math. it’s the only country in the world you can step off a boat or aircraft and walk into a job centre and get paid to watch TV in a council provided home!

Why work in Poland come to Britain and do nothing and get paid. What would you do? Why can’t we have a referendum on important matters? That effect every British and (Polish) citizen. Have a referendum on should we bomb Libya? Have one on our open boarders policy (Thank you Tony Blair!) My article isn’t just a rant and rave I could do that on You tube. I feel in this day and age we the citizens of the United Kingdom should have a more hands on attitude as regards running our tiny over crowded island.

I would gladly vote say 8 times a year on important matters as in should we invade another country? Should we not save the money on killing foreign citizens over oil supply and use the money to help save the NHS? The governments won’t let us the working class citizen have a voice apart from once every 4 years in a general election. Then our choice is blue or red not much of a choice for a thinking man! Its an excepted fact that politicians lie before a general election so they get elected. Their first duty once sworn in is to reject and cancel all their election promises! Why do we allow this? every time year in year out lies, lies, lies. If you go for a job interview in the private sector and say,

“Yes I am well versed in computers and all modern forms of communications”

Then on your first day at work admit you can’t even turn on a PC! Would you keep your job? No! we let politicians do this every time,

“Yes we will not allow an increase in student fees”

Umm that didn’t last long did it. The examples of broken promises is astounding, however we accept it by saying,

“Politicians all lie get used to it. They are all the same”

I am not suggesting scrapping parliament I am suggesting give the population a say in important matters. The 2012 Olympic games? Who gives a shit I don’t. All it will do is cost Britain money. There will be no new business for Britain on the back of the Olympics whom are they trying to kid? Most of the western world and certainly Europe hate Britain with a passion! Look at the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ we get nil points every year not because we are talent less its because we are hated in Europe. Long gone are the days of ‘Bucks Fizz’ and ‘Cliff Richard’ winning for us.

Why put on the pretence that the United Kingdom is a power to be reckoned with in the world? We are scrapping most of the Royal Navy and the Royal Air force because we can’t afford it? How can we then afford to host the Olympic games come on please! Someone wake up! Give the vote to the British citizens before you waste our national debt on crap.

On the news last night I saw a man complaining that his local council (Camden) in central London are moving him to a lower cost accommodation apartment. The man in question along with his family do not work they are unemployed. His rent for his apartment paid by his council is £2,000 per week! I repeat £2,000 per week! He is complaining that his children will have to change schools and it will disrupt their education. Excuse me you go get a job and you pay £2,000 rent! Per week.

We throw money away like village idiots in this country then decide we can’t afford to pay disabled people, who have contributed to the benefits system since the age of 16! Give British citizens the vote. Not just every 4 years every year and on many important matters of state. Answer a question why aren’t there thousands of immigrants queuing to get into France? Or Belgium or Sweden? Maybe because they don’t allow immigrants to claim benefits for sitting on their brains all day eating cheesy Wotsits!

In conclusion we the British public want a say in running our country not the politicians country its our country!

An article examing what the American Government has done to its people before and after 9/11 under Bill Clinton and George Bush's reign. This article also includes the last 30 years in politics and incriminates both the Republican and Democratic Party.

Ask What Your Country Has Done to You?

Times have changed for American leadership as the people have become acutely aware of how their faith in their leadership has been abused. The question is no longer what you can do for your country. You have paid when the wealthiest did not and while corporations ran themselves so haphazardly that the government federalized your dollars and made you the creditor of bad American business. So you have done for the last decade whether you wanted to or not. To me this constitutes the biggest heist of American wealth ever in the history of the United States. Main street bailing out the very corporations who are so thick with cash, greed and still will not hire those same Americans? America has been saddled with this flat regressive tax to pay for the military operations over seas which has created this astronomical inflation which the federal government has failed to acknowledge for years. And while I certainly respect the military we didn’t get our monies worth. Congress failed to provide adequate oversight through these wars. And quite frankly the wars shouldn’t have cost the American people anything. There was enough treasure in the Middle East to easily pay for those wars.

The real question is what has your government done to you?

If you are 18 and reading this you probably have an idealized sense of how government will treat you. Get over it, Right now our High School graduates, even in AP classes, are functioning well below people who graduated in the 1980(s). Our educational system has made children who will have no jobs when they graduate from college which has also been going on for the past 30 years. That is so our college graduates can go into a fantastic government careers which is better then starving but not really the American Dream we all signed up for. No one really wants a low paying government job in which they are forced to work a 100 hours a week with no over time for minimum wage.

And those that do take those jobs are not efficient employees.

And so if government work isn’t for you, the recruiters will be banging on your door for you to join the military. So there are three jobs in this country. The first is the fabulous military career. The second is an intelligence career and the third is a career preparing the people for the aforementioned positions.

Government has taken all of the main street wealth away from the people. I don’t even think that has occurred in Russia. Even China allows its people to have money but not in America.

So your government has left you, no matter how hard you have worked, poor, a soldier for one cause or another without a reasonable living wage while they have partied and made the wealthier richer.

What you can do to your government…

Let them know you are mad as hell and not taking it anymore!

Don’t vote for anyone who has been involved in government in the last 30 years which especially includes Bachmann, Gringrich, Romney and Obama. Bid all of them farewell.

Turn your cable and telephone off. If they want your vote make them come to you personally. I know no one is getting my vote. Make these politicians earn their way so they feel it when they do something to the American people they are going to pa for it.

Refuse to get involved in the political process and deny the existence of both parties. Trust me you don’t exist to either party until they need your vote and after that you are a door mat for them to walk all over. Your children are to be recruited for wars which ultimately you will be required to pay for when some of the biggest and most lucrative arms deals are going on during that very same war which makes very bad people very rich.

Demand equal and fair representation. And demand your share of the American Wealth. Let’s face it all of the debt of the wars went to main street while all of the wealth of the wars went to Wall Street. And I can’t blame Obama for this exclusively. I personally watched George Bush pass a budget and then tack on a Supplemental bill after each budget hearing. So for the Republicans to complain about debt is not to acknowledge George Bush pushed enormous supplemental bills running up this massive debt. Too bad the Republicans can’t own that. Treat politicians as stupid as they treat you. Lie to pollsters. Vote for outsiders. And never show your hand in who you will vote for.

And that really hot Momma Sarah Palin seems to have fallen off the map since she took her millions and ran. So don’t fall for the gimmicks like Palin who were just lying to sell books. She hasn’t done anything to improve this country but how is that different then anyone else? She has personally killed the disability advocates and women in this country but she is in exile in Alaska never to return.

So really vote for leadership you can believe in. If you don’t know a candidate personally then they aren’t worth voting for. If a candidate doesn’t have time to address your issue then they aren’t worth voting for. Only vote for a politician if they have helped you and your situation personally. If not they aren’t worth your vote.

And please don’t believe anything said or advertised on television. The television people are the worst as they are over paid and have little to no skills except lying through their teeth for their producer to walk away with their wealth. The integrity of journalism left with Dan Rather.

Is Your Politicians Working For You Everyday?

If you can honestly answer yes, then by all means vote for them but if the answer is I don’t know or no, then don’t. Because times have changed and the two most pertinent questions to ask yourself in 2012 are:

What has my country done to me?

And what has my politician done for me?

The Purples Hearts

Quite frankly I have found it very insulting to claim I have not served in this war when I have endured a flat tax on everything from food to gasoline to pay for the war despite the fact that I would not have ever willingly paid for these disaster in the deserts. I definitely would have pulled the troops out when the war became a civil war which was shortly after we invaded Iraq. So while I am not missing a limb, I have served and paid for over a decade for a war which I knew there were no weapons of mass destruction and it was all propaganda for which I blame JJ Abrams. Check out the movie Armageddon in which a meteor hits New York City and the cab driver claims “Saddam Hussein is bombing us”. It was a psychological operation to make everyone in the USA believe Saddam was a threat it National Security when in fact he was in exile. So I believe Bruckheimer, JJ Abrams, Ben Affleck, Liv Tyler, Michael Clark Duncan, Steve Buscemi, Luke Wilson, and most of all Bruce Willis can pay for that disaster in the desert. Because what happened to them was they spun Saddam Hussein as a terrorist and they thought they could cheaply overthrow Iraq but found themselves embroiled in a civil war. There was an exceptionally high probability that civil war would break out if we went into Iraq and killed Saddam but Hollywood wanted it so desperately.

And you know they have never paid the check on that either. And it is now time Hollywood pay the bills. Because they should have never tipped off Saddam we were coming but all of Hollywood is so immersed in our political system which leaks so terribly that unnecessary treasure and blood was lost in an operation which could have been neat and sweeping had Hollywood not made mention of Saddam. When Iraq descends into complete chaos ruled by a more evil dictator that bombs the Turks, I don’t want to hear a peep out of government propaganda that we will be greeted as liberators or that the Mission was Accomplished.

The mission failed before we even went in because we didn’t have the element of surprise and quite frankly we had no moral authority to be involved in a pre-emptive strike.

We all deserve purple hearts in this one. And Hollywood is responsible. Perhaps they should move out of their mansions and go live in Iraq as they are this countries greatest liability.

Hollywood pays first and foremost in this country as they made these wars more difficult and complex then they ever needed to be.

Wise up and don’t believe anything your government writes or says to you as it is all being done to you and not for you. We are all veterans of this war whether DC wishes to acknowledge that or not. They are not allowed to brain wash the people of the United States as it is an offense to National Security.

This article will explore whether the actions of the suffragettes actually helped them get the vote.

The suffragettes were a group of women who wanted to get the vote because men thought they wee too irresponsible. The suffragettes wanted to prove that women could be just as good as men and that women should have the right to express their feelings and opinions in politics.

Image by George Eastman House via Flickr

The first group of Suffragettes called the NUWSS (national union of women suffrage societies) decided that the best way to campaign was to be peaceful because then men would think they were responsible and mature enough to get the vote however the NUWSS did not gain enough publicity, and as a result they were ignored and many people did not address the suffragettes campaign for the vote.

The next group called the WSPU ( women’s social and political union) began their campaign peacefully but because they couldn’t attract attention their campaign began to drift to violence and became violent. Their tactics included chaining themselves to public places, breaking shop windows, chalking the roads and setting fire to people’s properties.

The violent tactic didn’t go down very well with the men because they began to get the wrong impression. When world war one broke out women had to stop campaigning and to start working in factories so that they would be able to contribute to the war. Women were usually drawn to work in factories because it offered higher wages and many other services as well that were not present in other jobs.

When world war one was won, politicians felt that women had done a brilliant job of contributing to the war, therefore he rewarded the women with the right to vote in governmental elections. However, women were still not allowed to vote until they reached the age of 30. In 1928 both men and women we able to vote at 21.

A brief overview of the Women's Suffrage Movement.

Prior to 1776 women held the right to vote in many of the American colonies. It wasn’t until the states began rewriting their constitutions that women’s voting rights were revoked. The Women’s Suffrage Movement didn’t actually begin until the Abolition Movement in the 1830s. Many women lobbied for the abolitionist movement to abolish slavery. It was through this movement that many women began noticing the distinct similarities between slavery and women’s rights. It was then that the women’s suffrage movement took flight.

In July 1848, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott hosted the Seneca Fall Convention for women’s rights in New York. The women’s rights movement had gained a bit of momentum until the effort was put aside to continue working towards the abolishment of slavery. In 1865 amendments were added to the constitution stating that all men have the right to vote regardless of race. This came as quite a disappointment for the suffragists because the amendment stated “men”. Although the suffragists continued the pursuit of equal rights for women it wasn’t until the beginning of the 20th century that the suffragist’s movement started to gain political recognition.

At the start of the 20th century many woman began lobbying for change associated with urbanization, industrialization, and mass immigration. These women began to realize that their voices would be more valuable to politicians if they had the right to vote. It was then that they committed themselves to gaining the right to vote. The suffragists began campaigning taking on the states individually to gain the vote for the suffragists as well as campaign for better wages and working conditions for women. In 1910, men began forming groups in support of the women suffragist movement as well. Soon after, they began gaining the support of Congressmen. It didn’t take long before the suffragists took their campaign to a more radical level by protesting, picketing, marching and lobbying. Many of them were badly treated and jailed in their fight for equal rights.

Finally in August of 1920 the woman suffragists won the vote and the 19th Amendment was approved. However, the amendment still left African American women disenfranchised. It wasn’t until the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s that African American women were given the right to vote.

I have finally got around to writing another constitutional amendment which I would like to see in our United States Constitution. I have already written a 28 regarding term limits on senators and representatives. This particular amendment would require a U.S. citizen to pass a test to vote in elections.

Amendment XXIX

Section 1.

The right of citizens of the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote shall be granted and unabridged by the United States and by any other State provided that the voter fulfills both of the following requirements:

1) The voter shall provide a government approved photo id to the election officer prior to entering the voting booth.

2) The voter shall take a test upon entering the voting booth and must receive a passing score in order to vote in the election. The test shall be a five question exam. Each question will be followed by three potential answers, only one being right, which the potential voter must choose to respond with. The potential voter must answer three of the five questions correctly to proceed casting their ballot. The questions shall consist of and be limited to questions regarding the United States Constitution. There shall be numerous questions to choose from, which will be given randomly to the potential voter. The test shall ask the potential voter to match a specific Article and Section number with the correct phrase, which will be among the three choices.

Section 2.

If the potential voter fails the test, he shall be allowed to try again the same day, repeating the process through the election officers. However, if the potential voter fails a second time he shall no longer be allowed to vote in that particular election on that day.

Section 3.

The qualification of passing a test is only applicable to elections of federal officers.

Section 4.

The Congress shall have the power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

Reasons For The Amendment

The more history I learn, the more I realize that the current predicament of our country is not only because of corrupt politicians, but because of the unwillingness of the citizenry to fully engage themselves in the political arena. I understand that not everyone will ever become fully engaged, but the way I’ve come to see it is that if you are going to elect your leaders which create the laws we live by, then you ought to have somewhat of a grasp on the law of the land.

We as a nation were blessed with a simple and straightforward yet powerful and limiting constitution. And it’s because of the fact that it is simple and easy to read that I feel people should be tested on it before they elect our leaders. If they take the time to read a little bit of it, then they will have a better understanding of it and who they are voting for. I also feel it would make politicians campaign more on constitutional principles in order to appeal to the voting public.

Many will say “Oh but that discriminates against people who can’t read.” To that I would first I say, “how then can they understand the voting instructions and questions?” Secondly, perhaps we could offer assistance to understanding the constitution. Maybe government sponsored classes throughout the year, or maybe classes during election day in rooms other than the voting area.

I think this amendment could replace the XXVI Amendment, and I also think this option could repeal the electoral college. It would cause more people to educate themselves, and I think turn the tide in freedoms favor, because as far as I’m concerned, we are living under the oppression of an uneducated majority.

Check out my other Constitutional Amendment ideas:

Long Live State’s Sovereignty!

OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD: POLITICS

Sex scandals , cheats, liars, drunks, druggies, criminals past and present and they all want to be President of the United States and the media buys right into it or maybe paid for it in the first place depending on who has control of the press this week and they feed it to us and we lap it up. Wake up America. Maybe it is so but guess what, it is turning us away from the real issues that they don’t want to face or talk about.

I’m sorry if this offends anyone but so be it; get over it. A good share of the men walking the face of this earth today and stretching back to the beginning of time have gone out looking for a little sex on the side and most of them haven’t had all that much trouble finding some woman willing to dish it out. If that is being too blunt, oh well, it is the truth and you know it.

It is no different today than it was yesterday. We are just making a bigger issue out of it and the whole reason for flapping all this crap in our face is so they won’t have to answer to the real issues, the issues that are bringing our Nation to its knees.

Maybe that is where we belong, on our knees and while we are down there we might want to consider some heavy praying, asking God for forgiveness and asking Him to guide and direct and protect and lift up this nation again. It is as it was in the days of Noah and we had better smarten up now.

Sex and politics have always been bedfellows, even King David, the chosen King for Israel did it and it is said David was the apple of Gods eye. “If I own up to the fact that I slept with your wife and the kid she is carrying is not yours, I’ll have to kill you”…And that is exactly what he did. Nero was fiddling around while Rome burned and I don’t think they meant he was playing a violin but maybe he played her a tune first. I don’t know. I wasn’t there.

The English Crown has been doing it every since there was an English Crown, and France, Italy, Spain, ah yes, the Latin Lovers. It is all in the history books. Hey, Clinton messed around on Hillary, Jack Kennedy did it, so did Jackie, and so did his brothers, Roosevelt did it and so did Lincoln and a good share of the rest of them too, truth be known; and they were all good Presidents. They all did their job to the best of their ability and with as much cooperation from Congress as they could muster and in retrospect they don’t look so bad after all. Let us not forget Congress, both houses, fit neatly into this picture too. Sex, scandal, cheating, lies, politics.

I get a little sick of hearing all this gum flapping about who can’t keep it in his pants. I’m not condoning their actions for one minute but it seems awfully funny when the liberated women of America have to wait until a man is running for President before there is even a whisper of indiscretion. If someone treated me that way I wouldn’t be waiting 30 years to go to the police and go to the press first, of course and then there is the TV Talk show and oh yes, the buzz is on and maybe a New York Best Seller or even a movie all about who did who. It is a joke and I am not laughing and neither is most of the other 99% of the American voters no matter what your political persuasion.

What I want to know is what you are going to do about the economy, about bringing jobs back to America.

I want to know what you are going to do about these crazy mortgage and loans issues. I don’t want to lose my home and I don’t want my children losing theirs.

I want to know what you are going to do about guarding our back door from our enemies rather than jumping into everyone else’s civil war.

I want to know why you are messing with my Social Security and health care and yet you keep your own special retirement program and health care well padded.

I want to know why I have to work 40 to 50 years to collect less than 2/3 of the money I was earning when I retire but you only have to work 2 to 4 years for the same benefits and more.

I want to know why all those special interest groups can get all those big bucks and I can’t get a fair tax break.

I want to know where my COLA is. If you can get a raise so can I. I worked hard for 54 years of my life and it is my money that went into the Social Security pot. You have been stealing from me long enough. From now on I want you taking it from your own funds and not mine.

I want to know why we give billions of dollars to aid our enemies but we can’t come up with funds to help our own flood, tornado and earthquake victims.

I want to know why people who sneak into my Country and live here illegally without even having to apply for a green card or American citizenship get the same or better benefit than I do.

And the list goes on…

I don’t need to know what you were doing in the back seat of your limousine with your latest cutie thirty years ago or even ten minutes ago and I don’t care who is hiding under your desk or sleeping in your bed. That is for you, your spouse, your Momma and God to sort out. Just keep it out of the business at hand which is keeping this Country strong and Great and respected.

Quit making my Country the laughing stock of the World.

I want to know what your plan is for leading this Nation called America. I want to know what you are really going to do for Freedom’s sake and don’t try talking out both sides of your mouth because I’ve heard enough of that too.

Sex scandals, cheats, liars, drunks, druggies, criminals past and present and they all want to be President of the United States. For crying out loud! This is not some Hollywood X rated movie you are trying out for. You are asking us to trust you and believe in you and make you the leader to the greatest Country in the world. Give me a reason.

I personally think that faith isn’t a factor to me.

Actually, I don’t think that it is for most liberals, Democrats, etc. Conservatives, however, tend to place too much emphasis on this subject. During the 2008 election cycle, I don’t remember the faith of any Democratic candidates being dissected; however, the faith of Republican candidates is always highly publicized. Poor Mitt Romney didn’t stand a chance in 2008, specifically because of his faith. In addition, they tend to talk abut their faith an awful lot, whereas Democrats don’t feel the need to interject God into politics and policy debates.

One last note, the conservatives love to talk about and attack other peoples’ faith when given the chance. People still continue to insist that President Obama is a Muslim due to the propaganda of some right wing religious zealots. This I don’t quite understand, as at least Muslim is a form of faith derived from Christianity. Wouldn’t they rather have a Muslim president than an atheist? Personally, it’s all a bunch of nonsense to me…
