When will we get a CEC who asks that the same level of transparency be brought into election funding in India as is present in the US? Who will call for an auction of properties disclosed by a candidate, if it be found that the same have been undervalued?

India has learned to pull off virtually flawlessly the biggest, eye-popping democratic exercise with the kind of ease that is a part of our new brand equity.

My opinion on if Obama will be reelected as president.

The GOP wins elections by playing to the wealthy who will benefit from tax cuts and special privileges. They heap taxes on the average citizen and take away programs that would lift up the poor. I can see not one reason to vote for a Republican unless you are a rich person. I have my doubts that one could win without supporters who willingly pump out millions of dollars, knowing it will bring them even more wealth and privileges. But now, even with their record, Republicans seem to have slipped a few more notches into fantasy and delusions.

We must be ever vigilant in our choice at the polls. We do have power and we must use it diligently. Each of us has a responsibility to use our awesome power to the best of our ability. Our differences can be our strength.

Who should be sitting in the Oval Office when all the dust settles – seeing past the smoke and mirrors to the real people behind the public figures…
