The Assyrians were well known for their savagery and cold-bloodedness and their fighting prowess.

The Assyrians developed effective fighting strategies in order to take over a region of the Middle East from the Red Sea to the Persian Gulf. It was a necessity for their survival to be so proficient at waging war since they originated in a small area of northern Mesopotamia, open to attack from all sides, without any geographical features to provide natural cover. They used their trade networks to amass a huge wealth and used warfare not just for self-defence, but also out of a desire to increase their wealth.

The Assyrians were related to the nearby Babylonians in that they too were of Amorite, and therefore Semitic, origin. They endured many years of hegemony under the Babylonians and Mitanni before they started a bloody campaign of conquest.

These seemingly perpetual conquests over many centuries led to the Assyrians reaching the Mediterranean and later seeing off would-be invaders who replaced old ones in turn. Ceaseless war campaigns caused the empire to swell in size. The Assyrians were aware how critical it was to make advances in war crafts such as replacing bronze weapons with iron weapons. They also implemented chariots in order to quickly surround enemies and counter to devastating effect. Even those who were lucky enough to be within their city walls during a battle could not escape the relentless barrage of battering rams.

The marvelous cities built by the Assyrians, such as Kalakh and Nineveh, were bankrolled by the spoils of war. A palace for each king, flanked by enormous statues of part-man part-beast entities. The Assyrians continued the policy of exodus of the defeated people.

Assyria came to an end because of the vast size it grew to and an inevitably unprotectable frontier. There was also considerable in-fighting among the Assyrian elite and a series of assassinations followed. Ashur (the capital of the Assyrian Empire) was sacked in 614 BC.

Evidence that online gaming, or even just having the computer on ruins lives.

The time of age where everyone seems to panic about school, no matter what country what background.

THe age of 17-21, the most determining age of education in a person’s life.

This is the age where college/university exeptance kicks in, and the study of a student determines where and what they will be in life. The endless nights of repetitious studying and the social lives of ambitious students are quashed.

With the introduction of computers and more importantly the internet, it has enabled students to create blogs, (facebook, twitter, myspace etc..) and also do other uneducational things such as pornography, play games, msn(chatting). Is this distracting students from getting the results that they potentially could be getting?.

The average teenager spends at least 2 hours a night on facebook, and 3hours+ playing computer games such as WoW, COD, Warcraft, Starcraft etc.. but if this time was otherwise spent on studying, would this enable students to achieve what they truly wanted, whether it was a Law Degree at Harvard or Yale, or a P.H.D from Oxford.

The answer is YES.

We all know that studying (effectively) strongly increases academic prowess and ability to preform on exams, therefore an extra 4 hours a night would very much improve the amount of retention of what is learnt at school therefore giving students the opportunity to preform better and achieve what they want in life.

If parents took this opportunity to discuss this with students and convince them (somehow) that if they reduced their amount of time spent on the computer that they could be whatever they want, would this actualy be possible?

Well, only time will tell.. and if there are increased government initiatives to reduce computer usage rather than encourage it.. they would find that there would be a much larger proportion of skilled workers that could strongly help economic growth.

World of Warcraft tester

Getting paid to play world’s number one Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG). Getting paid for something, more than 12 million others don’t. A dream job. Besides, Blizzard care about your health and do not make you play this game for more than 4 hours a day. A good company always take care of it’s employees health (i wonder how many such employees do not play more than 4 hours a day ). Just image the amount of competition to get such job!

Trying out luxurous beds

There is only one spot for such job. Lucky one is a woman from England. She has to sleep, take a nap, roll around and in every way try out beds, made by well known designers, and later put her impressions to a review. She then shares it with bed manufacturers, so they know the flaws of their product. She was hired by Simon Horn Ltd. Remember this name – maybe the company will hire more bed “testers”.

Water amusement park tester

His job is to enjoy water amusement parks while testing them. A company First Choice hired one guy to trawel around the wrold’s water amusement parks, try out water slides, measure their height and safety as well as the amount of water and general fun. All this is don so First Choice knew what to recomend, nad what not to, and to give useful reviews for their customers.

Underage drinking is a widespread social issue in America. Checking for ID obviously is not working, and the adults who sell to minors are not helping.

So, there needs to be a working solution for both minors and adults who sell to minors. If either one of these people are caught, they should have a chip implemented into their brain. If a store owner or worker is caught, they will have to face a fiercer punishment.

For the underage kids, the chip would be an alcohol-activated GPS tracker, which would tell officials where the person is. The chip would also, upon alcohol consumption, violently shock the person for a few seconds. The person would not have a pleasant experience, and have a punishment handed to them by the law, eventually taking away their desire for alcohol. This chip would never be removed from them, so they could not drink any alcohol even when they are of age.

For the people who sell alcohol to the minors, they would also get an additional punishment. While being operated on to get the chip, their ID would be replaced with a special ID that shows they can not buy any more alcohol. If they do manage to get alcohol, though, they would be operated on again, but this time have a tattoo placed on their forehead showing what they have done, and they would be paralyzed from their neck down. This will make sure they can never sell or buy alcohol again, and effectively decrease the amount of alcohol sellers.

If the person selling alcohol to minors owns or works in a store, they will have a different punishment. They would not get any chip, but they would automatically be paralyzed and tattooed. They would also be taken out of the store, and be forced to watch it being burned down. If any person is injured or an apartment or house is burned down, the accused will have his home burned down and suffer the same injury as the innocent person. They will also have to pay for insurance, any operations that may occur, and then be arrested for arson without a trial or any chance of parole.

Anybody that is under 21 and does not drink, and anybody who does not let minors have alcohol, is obviously excluded from this rule. For following the law, they get to see other people being publicly humiliated and tortured. This will discourage people to drink underage and also discourage people from selling to minors.
