Planning a wedding? The music you choose should be as unique as you are. Here are some great alternatives to the same old-same old.

It’s finally that moment that you’ve dreamed of…since as long as you can remember.

The church is full. Your wedding party is in place. All is quiet. It’s the perfect moment. And then, from the organ loft, we hear the familiar melody…

“HERE COMES THE BRIDE!”

Now I’m not one to mess with tradition just for the sake of being different. But really! How did this piece of music end up being almost required for the bride’s processional? There are so many other wonderful choices out there, in a variety of styles. I think that if more brides knew the options available to them, they could have music that was unique to their ceremony, and was more inline with their personal tastes. Here are some great alternatives.

If you wish to stay fairly traditional and go with a big organ piece for the profcessional, consider the piece “Rigaudon” by Andre Campra. It sets the stage for this important event with almost a royal mood. It is also not an overly difficult piece to learn, so you organist should be more than happy to accommodate your request.

Another organ piece to consider, but it a more modern style is the thrilling “Festive Trumpet Tune” by David German. It can be performed by organ alone. But for maximum impact, employ the services of a trumpet player and prepare for the goosebumps. Highly effective!

At the complete other end of the spectrum, let’s look at something sparse and simple, but stunningly beautiful. I’ve always admired the music composed for the performing shows of Cirque du Soleil, and the theme from one of their more recent shows has begun to crop up at weddings here and there. The piece is entitled “O”, with the circular shape of the letter implying infinity- an appropriate symbol for a marriage ceremony! It could be beautifully played by a piano soloist or by a string quartet.

Another contemporary alternative is “Hymn” by the composer known as Vangelis. Vangelis’ major claim to fame was writing the theme song to “Chariot’s of Fire”, and while I wouldn’t advocate using that melody for your processional, his song called “Hymn” would make an excellent modern choice. On the recording, it is played by an array of electronic instruments, but it could easily be done as a piano solo, too.

These are just a few of my current favorites. You may find what you are looking for on this brief list, but I hope to have at least caused you to consider the possibilities. If you are willing to do some scouting around online and a little bit of listening, I’m sure you will be able to find the perfect piece to kick off your special day. And if that piece ends up being, “Here Comes the Bride”, so be it. But I’m betting that you’ll find something much better, and more importantly, something more uniquely you. Best wishes on your planning!

***

In addition to the music you will choose for your wedding ceremony, you will need to give some thought to the instruments you will want to use. Read this article for more information on the variety of instruments that can be used in weddings.

We all know how weddings can be one joyous occasion. However, ever thought how to make it as cherish able and memorable for whole life. What a better time to tell the special ones how important they are in your life. How joyful life is when they are around you.

Question is how you celebrate the occasions and festivals with loved ones? Especially is it’s a wedding how it is going to be memorable event? Lets see how to make weddings unforgettable:

1. In case you are designing own invitation then do it yourself, customize it. Include special notes , share notes or images. Share stories of glorious past to look into future with bright ideas. Choose your own style and paintings.
2. Do not give away stuff that will go in garbage ultimately. Give a personal touch to gifts that you make. Something that is close to heart always make things cherish for long time. If you met your first love in some coffee shop or at dinning clubs then make a picture out of it or weave a love story.
Travel lovers can do lot to cherish every moment. Share it with friends and family and make it a gala affair of presents. Make such occasions before wedding so that your loved one knows what it means to you. Design and make it your own , splash it with love and small details that most of us overlook.
You sure are going to get all attention. And your love will be remembered for long.
3. Create own marriage line up. You can easily do this yourself. Include special thank you to your loved ones. The bride and groom can take this opportunity to write a special note to their respective families and new in-laws on the program. This is something that is sure to make eyes well up with tears and will be something your family will want to save forever.
4. Take this prospect to personalize a short note to a special guest on the card. The place setting would also be a good time to provide your visitor with a small chocolate after sitting through your ritual and awaiting their meal. You can find tailored wrappers online or in a store or make your own chocolate reflecting the theme of your wedding website.
5. Preserve a small table at the entrance to your home. On this place frames with photos of your family and friends who are no longer with you as a way to remember them and have them with you on your special day. This is sure to touch the hearts of many of your wedding guests.
6. Tell friends or family to write stories. This would be particularly good for smaller weddings. This will become a keepsake you can cherish instead of just a book with signatures that you may only look at once or twice again. You could also include photos of guests on the page you would like them to write on for smaller weddings.

Considerations wedding day schedule is probably more critical to the old part of the day, which includes the ceremony and pictures, so it is easy to underestimate the importance of time management when it comes to the wedding ceremony.

Considerations wedding day schedule is probably more critical to the old part of the day, which includes the ceremony and pictures, so it is easy to underestimate the importance of time management when it comes to the wedding ceremony.
The two most important factors in determining the viability and flow time of receipt: (a) If a receiving line at reception – and if so, how many guests are there, (b) the timing of speech .

If no receiving line, then you do not have much to fear. Note that some couples have their receiving line immediately after the ceremony (that is), outside the church. In this scenario, the time for photos, including family, marriage and a couple of shots given limited if the receiving line takes too long to become. Then, depending on how much time there, the newlyweds are pictures in a hurry, they go to the reception on time – and these are the last images you want pressed.

Back to Home. 5.30 is a typical start time. Customers are beginning to appear. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Dinner is often served at 7:00 clock.
Suppose you decide to start the receiving line at 5:30. How long will it take? Well, it depends on how many guests you. An average wedding has 150 people. If you and / or your guests, so talkative he could easily take place before 07:00. On average, the estimate when you take 30 seconds per host, then 75 minutes. If 250 people or more, it could be a problem (that) Dinner starts later, which could affect the quality of food.

As a wedding photographer, I’m not quite indifferent when there is a receiving line or not, or how long it takes. My job is to photograph what is happening. What is not to deny, however, how exhausting is the online home for the couple – who recently their ceremony, and in most cases to do so in the lobby, their photos are arrived. Now they want to meet and greet people for a long time, with a permanent smile. At the end of it, most couples are denied. At least dinner is usually not far away at this point.

In some traditions, not the receiving line is not an option. It is a must. Of course, in this situation because it is only natural and expected part of the day, with a receiving line may not be as bad as it is presented. However, if you have a choice, I often recommend the bride and groom, she to the waiver on this.

What are the benefits of avoiding a receiving line? (1) The couple can relax a little time, maybe 15 minutes when they arrive in the lobby. After updating their guests arrive for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres join – rather than spend time standing together in one place, (2) Participation in cocktails with their guests, they’ll mix a more personal than in the receiving line, (3) Instead of the receiving line, the newlyweds visit their clients at their table between courses dinner.

The next part of the reception, which can really affect the flow of the evening for the speech. I always ask couples, reserving to myself, how much and how long talks. Inevitably, most say it is little and they will not last long. While this is sometimes the case, when the wedding day that we often talk more than expected, and it is often a question, at least, is surprisingly long. Consider also that it is time to speak, part or all of the space consumed sufficient amounts of alcohol have (for some, removing the nerves).

So, what is the best time to talk? Well, if you take a seated dinner is usually about 2 hours. Speech usually between 30 to 60 minutes. perhaps more if the speech later in the evening or take more time – Are you talking to the dessert, your guests are sitting on their butts for a maximum of three hours, planning. It is a time to sit down, and he used to suck the life of the party, sometimes even before it begins. After the speeches interspersed during dinner works very well, leading to the happy couple said, is served as dessert. In this way, once the dessert is ready to party.

When the speeches begin after dinner, depending on the amount, the result may be stirred and encouraged towards the bathroom or outside fresh air or cigarette – which can disturb and even disappointing. In addition, most couples their first dance at the end of the presentations. When the speech will take place throughout the evening as guests, and dessert ready to talk about the couple and can go straight to the dance floor and have their first dance. In this case, most customers are always at their table. Otherwise, if the speech after dinner, then by the time they announced at the end and it is time for the first dance, you might have a half empty room on his hands – that can remove it.

Note that some couples are choosing their first dance, when they are introduced at the beginning of dinner. In this case, all seats and all eyes are on them. This option is good because it’s a captive audience, but if it’s Windows, it is generally always as dramatic or romantic as a first dance at about 7:00 and the light is not in a dimly lit room.

Consider that with time reception of the bride and groom since morning. Much energy has been spent. Creating a reception flowing, beautiful game plan and not difficult, the right cut to help on a day that you want to remember not only be special, but fun.

After the well celebrated Royal wedding ceremony, the wedding dress of the bride Catherine Middleton was unveiled. The dress was designed by the creative director of fashion house Alexander Mcqueen.

The highlights of the wedding includes when Prince William departed from the Clarence House with his brother Prince Harry. The next one is the much awaited arrival of the bride, Catherine Middleton with her classic wedding dress. The wedding dress was a revelation of the design including its designer.

The wedding dress was unveiled, the dress was a conservative, classic, and yet stylish wedding dress which was worn with elegance by Catherine. It was previously hidden by the wedding organizers and kept secret. After many speculations, the head designer had been revealed which is Sarah Burton. She is a creative director from fashion house Alexander Mcqueen. On behind the scenes, the new Duchess closely worked with Sarah to come up with a wedding dress with traditional and modernistic design.

Here is an excerpt from the Official Royal Wedding 2011 website about the intricacy of the wedding dress design :

“The dress is made with ivory and white satin gazar. The skirt echoes an opening flower, with white satin gazar arches and pleats. The train measures two metres 70 centimetres. The ivory satin bodice, which is narrowed at the waist and padded at the hips, draws on the Victorian tradition of corsetry and is a hallmark of Alexander McQueen’s designs. The back is finished with 58 gazar and organza covered buttons fastened by Rouleau loops. The underskirt is made of silk tulle trimmed with Cluny lace.”

The topic about the wedding dress continue to draw comments around the Internet especially in the social media including Facebook and Twitter. Not only the media buzz has an eye for the wedding dress, but most especially in the fashion industry where every detail of the wedding dress is being talked about.

Aside from the bride, another woman shines and it is no other than the sister of Catherine, Pippa Middleton. She is also wearing a very simple and elegant dress that makes her more beautiful just like her sister. She came out the Buckingham Palace balcony along with the the Royal family, standing right next to the new couple Prince William and Princess Catherine with Queen Elizabeth herself. It was reported that Prince Harry suddenly had his eyes on her? Can we expect another Royal romance?

The new Royal couple Prince William and Catherine Middlleton is now the” The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge”.

An article that discusses who weddings are and should be really for: the bride? the bride and groom? parents and/or relatives?

Boys, please don’t get all snappy and tell me that it is for the bride. In theory, a wedding is supposed to be for the bride and groom; not for the parents and not for the guests.

When it comes to movies (especially romantic comedies), the bride is totally obsessed with the perfect wedding- so much to the point that what the groom wants gets ignored (Sex and The City, the first movie for instance).

But in real life, at least in Turkey, the weddings somehow become more about what the parents want. From the selection of guests to the expenses, from the designs to music, it feels like the whole thing is designed to keep everyone happy, but the groom and the bride.

Now, let me talk about traditional Turkish weddings. I don’t like them. I don’t like the music, the instruments, and the dances. I don’t have anything against my country, but I am not a traditionalistic person and as far as music is concerned, if I hate the song, I can’t have fun- no matter how many drinks you feed me.

One of my best friends got married on Saturday. She looked gorgeous, the hair and make up and dress were perfect, the groom looked nice, the venue had this great view of the sea and pretty OK decorations. But this was the second wedding, mainly done for the groom’s part of the family. Because the majority of the bride’s family comes from Izmir, one wedding took place there, paid by her father. And the second was in Golcuk, an area where the groom’s part of the family were located. I had to go to the second one, as it is only about 2 hours from Istanbul- the city where I live. Izmir is about 9 hours away by bus. Guess what many of their close friends hadn’t been able to make it to either wedding, as majority of their friends lived in Istanbul; where the couples also lived and worked. So the average age of the guests was about 40-50, and not the type of 40s that Teri Hatcher or Gerard Butler represents. The sort of 40-50 that becomes middle-aged and obsessed with tradition, the type of 40s that you’d expect from a couple of decades ago.

Anyway, so the majority of the guests had fun. One of my friends had fun. The others kind of got into the “if you can’t beat them, join them” mindset. And as for me, apart from 5-6 lovely songs (by The Police, James Brown, Michael Jackson…), the rest was overly loud, overly traditional and boring music that made the majority of the guests happy. And while the bride and groom weren’t as in pain as I was, they certainly weren’t having the time of their lives as they should have been doing. It was their wedding, but the DJ, the groom’s parents, and the guests (not the close friends, but the relatives) were having a blast because they had control over the situation.

As sacred as parenting is, I don’t think parents should own the weddings of their children, even if they are paying for it (well, in my opinion you shouldn’t get married if you have to depend on your parents for the expenses, but that’s another discussion). Wedding is a party, and it should be fun. It should be the most fun for the bride and groom as the party is in their honor, a celebration of decision to spend their time together.

While my ideal wedding is probably in the summer, on the beach, with a fun (rock) band playing in the background, I am willing to compromise and find a common ground with the guy I am marrying. But hell, he will probably wouldn’t say no this plain and fun arrangement with good music and a beatiful view.

The idea is, it is not for my friends, or my parents, or for his parents or our guests. It is supposed to be for us. And if guests are going to be turned off by my choice of music/venue/style, they shouldn’t be there in the first place. Oh yes, I was turned off by my best friend’s wedding, but I stuck to the ending. Because despite the things that she didn’t like, it was her day and I was there for her, the whole time. That’s what matters. So if my or his relatives won’t be coming to our wedding because it is not traditional, they should not come. Because the wedding is for the two people getting married. That’s all.

What do you think? Who are weddings really for? Who should they be for?

In life we make a number of relations, the bond of which needs to be flourished with the factors of caring and sharing, which is also the basis of a marriage.

In life we make a number of relations, the bond of which needs to be flourished with the factors of caring and sharing, which is also the basis of a marriage

Be it any relationship, caring and sharing are the two most important elements, which are required to let the relation grow and take sweet and interesting turns. In life one makes a number of relations, but if the relation does not have trust and understanding in it, it will never last for long. A relation is like a plant, the better nourishment we give to the plant, the better tree with sweet fruits, it would give. There are some relations in our life, which are meant to be with us forever, which has to be handled with care. A bond or a relation, which everyone forms in his life, is the bond of marriage, in which a bride and a groom takes the pledge to stand by each others side at all the phases and situations of life.

wedding is a relation, which at times is the strongest and at times is the weakest of all the relations, a human share in his life time. This is a bond, which should be fed with the ingredients of love, care and support to make it stronger, and if the above mentioned elements do not exist in a relation, then the relation becomes weak and feeble. The bride and groom needs to make equal efforts to make the bond more strong and long lived. Indian marriages are said to live longer due to respect the couple share towards each other. One should always keep in mind that by giving respect to his partner one comes in a position, where he can expect love and respect from his life partner.

These relations are like unending wells, you keep on pouring love and care, it will never come to a point of saturation, the more you give, the more you get. The love and bonding between the married couple needs to flourish with each passing day. Therefore both the bride and groom should put in efforts to make the relation more interesting and cheerful. Giving surprises to your partner at times, makes the journey of the married couple, take exciting turns and motivates the other person to do more things to keep the cycle moving. Newness or freshness in the marriage needs to be kept alive. It is generally seen that in the years of the starting of the marriage, the couple is very enthusiastic about spending time with the life partner and sharing things with each other. But as the time passes the interest and the excitement keep on fading down.

This is well known and accepted fact, that marriage is a life time bond, and the couple has to spend their whole life together, so there is no point in ignoring or showing disinterest in the deeds of the life partner. One should try and develop his interest according to the likes and hobbies of his life partner, to be able to spend more quality time with the life partner, where both shares the same interest and enjoys together.

Sharing your hobbies, likes, dislikes, interests, with the life partner, builds space for both the bride and groom to understand each other better. When both the partners in the marriage, knows each other well, then it’s easy for them to understand their life partner at different stages of life. Also, there are many phases in life, where one gets to know many new things about his life partner, which can be positive as well as negative. In both the cases, time should be given to the husband or wife to let themselves explain to each other, or the other person should analyse the habits of his life partner to have a better understanding in their relationship.
