How to use visualization techniques for real life success.

Most likely you are familiar with the principle of visualization–using your mind to help coax your goals into reality. Seeing your goals coming into fruition in your minds eye is powerful indeed, but applying a visualization strategy reinforced with action a potent combination. By combining the auditory and the kinesthetic with the visual is an especially effective approach for making your dreams come true!

-Here are three different specific ways to use visualization techniques.

1) Techniques one: End result imagery.

Visualize things as you want them to be. Have a clear image of how this situation looks, sounds, feels and even smells. The more senses involved, the better. This technique works well for physical outcomes and professional success.

2) Technique two: Sitting-and-waiting.

Perfect for attracting a mate, improving existing relationships or creating a family. Here’s how you do it: picture a hot-air balloon. Now, visualize a written question about how the desired situation will become reality. Put the question in the hot-air balloon and watch it float up to the sky until it disappears. Now sit and wait while you keep living your life.

3) Technique three: Write down the future.

Write a letter of gratitude to the force you recognize as a higher power. For example, “dear positive energy, thank you for…” Follow this with a list of your goals with accomplishment dates. This approach is concrete, specific and powerful.

-Seven ways to visualize your goals.

1) A leaner, stronger, more flexible you. Use end-result imagery. Visualize yourself looking in the mirror, working out or holding a yoga pose.

2) Success as an artist. See your creations on the wall of a museum.

3) Your ideal family. Write it down. What’s a day like in the life of your family? Describe your partner, your children, your friends. Now put it in the hot air balloon and let it happen!

4) Spiritual well being. End-result imagery. What does it feel like when you are centered and calm? Try combination visualization: use the wait-and-see approach also.

5) Prosperity. Write it down. Describe your assets, including what form they exist in with specific target dates.

6) Cook the perfect meal. Using end-result imagery, imagine the smell. See yourself combining ingredients skillfully and putting the meal on the table. Feel yourself being nourished.

7) Achieve your athletic goals. See yourself in the pages of a magazine. Write down the date in which you’ll appear. What’s your story?

Stress eating.

Stressed out? Well, keep your eyes off the screen and start taking action!

Oh wait, better finish this article and gather up some useful tips.

First and foremost, it’s not healthy to release stress in manners like showing anger, self afflicted injuries and worst of all, emotional/stress eating. That is because you will get even more stressed out once you see the pounds that has just seemed to magically appear without your knowing.

I remember once I have been a victim of uncontrollable emotional eating. I just kept grabbing and grabbing snacks and munching on them really fast, which,by the way, is not very healthy for when you chew food fast and swallow fast, the food has not been well processed. The larger the particles of food go down your digestive system, the harder for it to be processed therefore resulting to body fat. And to think I was the kind of person who has been so concerned on every calorie, emotional overload is just hard to deal with.

Stressing on emotional eating, why do we?

Probably because the easiest way to feel “high” is by eating chocolates or anything that has sugar. It has been scientifically proved that chocolates do make people happy. It is even prov-en to be an aphrodisiac just like oysters and such. Junk food is also one of what we call our comfort foods. Most likely because of the mono sodium glutamate it contains. MSG or mono sodium glutamate is an artificial flavor enhancer which, quite obviously, makes food taste better by heightening our tasting sense. So as the Pringles tag line goes, “Once you pop, you can’t stop”. One is never enough, thanks to MSG. Usually the unhealthy foods are the ones who use these kinds of artificial additives and though they might taste absolutely addicting, a small serving of this pack up thousands of calories.

Remember seeing those scenes on TV when someones being comforted by a parent or a friend, they would stay by the kitchen, grab a bowl of ice cream, and confront their issues?

That is emotional eating. You feel stressed, burdened and troubled and just cope with it by satisfying your taste buds, disregarding how many calories you take in or how it may affect your health. Sure, you finish a whole tub of ice cream because you say it helps you deal with your issues but that is not the only way you could. Excessive eating leads to obesity. Imagine if every time you get stressed by your nightly tasks, you eat to compensate, then you fall asleep right after. That makes matters much worse for when you sleep, you do not burn the calories you have just taken therefore resulting to fat.

Fast weight gain usually results to:

1. Obesity

2. Heart failures

3. Incapability to do physical activities

4. Getting tired easily

5. Easily getting tempered

6. Asthma

7. DEATH

8. So so much more

Just drop that bag of chips, start being progressive.

Take advantage of that jolt of stress right there and take it out through exercising, sports, writing your emotions down. There are much better ways to deal with emotional outbursts than realising stress in a way that will give you more stress in the long run.

Image via Wikipedia

Recently there was an issue with Jessica Simpson and Heidi Klum and their weight. I thought both of them finally looked normal. Models and stars who are just skin and bones are really a sad excuse for weight issues. Most of the models look like they are starving themselves just to fit the ideal that the fashion industry has put on them. Why not have that girl who looks like every other American. Many of us are not a size zero or two, maybe we are sizes 6-20 and why should we be looked down upon.

Many young girls are given the wrong impression that skinny is beautiful. Being beautiful is just being yourself, you have to realize we are sending them into a down ward spiral. I heard today that America’s Next Top Model is no longer just looking for the tall models, they are now taking the smaller girls. Its about time not every woman in America is 5foot 7inches and weighs less than 100pounds. I am really surprised that this issue is still as big as ever.

I personally think that Jessica and Heidi look great. They look “normal” something that we all look like. Many girls clothing has become smaller and if you can’t fit in that small size the size you need just doesn’t fit as well. This is a huge issue for girls who struggle with self esteem issues. This is why they end up in hospitals with anorexia and bullemia and many years of therapy until they build back up their self esteem.

The whole issue of weight even to the biggest loser. The contestants are taught about healthy ways to loose weight but they are not told to starve themselves. They are given goals to reach. A goal that is reasonable for their body stats.

First of all I am not overweight, I am also not in the category of the size zero to two. I am happy and proud to say that I am the right size for my height and age, I fit in the caterogry of 6-20 a healthy weight is better any day compared to a girl who looks like she starved herself. I just hope that we give our girls that confidence to be happy with the size they are.
