Brief summary of Berlin.

Start of construction of the Berlin Wall took place the night of 12 to 13 August, the boundary between the Soviet sector and other sectors was barred Western and East German authorities began building a wall with barbed wire. Physical barrier divided the city and encircled West Berlin. During the construction of the National People’s Army soldiers and battle groups of the working class have left the area with clear orders to shoot anyone who tried to flee west.
