<p><em>She</em> is not some careless confused teenager who forgot her safe days- no! <em>She</em> has already had&nbsp;other<em> its</em>-if i may. <em>Its</em> that require love, care, food, clothing and shelter. <em>She</em> works from sunday to sunday. A hard-working, bubbly, amazing and thriving <em>she</em>. <em>She</em> is.</p>

<p>week two the flu a rash and nausea here and there,</p>
<p>Week three, an over active heart, ready to burst out of its rib-cage, nausea, loss of appetite, dizzy spells, uncontolled sleep (problem? yes, fyi she is at work and can barely part her eyelids), loss of appetite and despite all of that <em>she</em> still manages to make me laugh. I smile, I think( what can I do to help? do i bring her lunch?- she says no. reason?- no appetite),I wonder and finally she tells me.</p>

The pain is excrutiating, <em>It</em> makes <em>she</em> only lean to one side and only&nbsp;&nbsp;maintain that position for comfort that only lasts a few seconds. A few seconds- a &#8216;few seconds of sanity&#8217;- <em>she</em> calls them. The doctor said:<em> It</em>, has to come out!</p>
<p>I sit there and I wonder, what can I do? What else can I say to distract her? I&#8217;ve already&nbsp; played my last cards on humor and hope. I&#8217;ve tried empathy, Ive done all I can, but I want to do more but, my time has run out and I have to go.</p>

<p>I have a dream- I recall&nbsp; ( one that I will not share at this point)- a dream that can help the situation the next time. Yes, the time has come. I realize again, a womans body is sacred, precious, priceless in so many, many ways. Think of some of the most basic things: How many men have you spotted that can walk around bare chested today( in some cultures)? Many, infact a greater percentage, and now think of how many women do the same&nbsp;(in their cultures are free to do so)? ( not talking about the beach here. Think of an ordinary day, perhaps going to court, going to school to pick up the kids, or even out with your husband-bare chested? I don&#8217;t think so- instead, you gently, deliberately cover up out of love, respect for self or for culture).However, despite all the efforts to look good, smell nice look presentable, how well do we know our bodies? How well do we<em> really</em> know whats going on inside us?</p>
<p><em>She</em> told me that out of experience she knew something wasn&#8217;t right, still, though,&nbsp;suprised that she was pregnant. sure, life has many beatiful suprises for us as women,</p>
<p>Question is: do i know when somethings wrong with my body? do i know enough to teach my younger sisters? what advice do i give when the little ones ask me about the pill, menses, acne, the flu, hormonal imbalance, diet, exercise..?What do i do when my neighbour next to me in the bus&#8230;., stuck in traffic&#8230;, goes into labour???</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have been around the block and then some. &nbsp;From my somewhat dysfunctional family, to my TIA (mini-stroke) on March 13 (coincidentally it was Friday the thirteenth), 2009, &nbsp;I have learned that I must get right back up and keep going on with my life. &nbsp;I believe, but &nbsp;I am not sure, that some women give up after a certain point. &nbsp;You should never give up! &nbsp;There is <u>ALWAYS</u>&nbsp;someone or some state agency that can and &nbsp;will help you.</p>
<p>I was married for fourteen years. &nbsp;It started out with verbal and emotional abuse but then it became progressively worse over the &nbsp;years. &nbsp;It came &nbsp;to a &nbsp;boiling point on June 9, 2001 when my ex-husband tried to murder &nbsp;me. &nbsp;I had no college education and three young children to take care of. &nbsp;I was sinking where I was. &nbsp;I lived in Bradley, California at the &nbsp;time. &nbsp;I wasn&#8217;t making enough money to support them so I moved back home for a while. &nbsp;I had a great deal of emotional baggage and sought counselling and support groups for my mental health after my domestic violence experience. &nbsp;</p>
<p>I also over the &nbsp;years became obese. &nbsp;I had been 118 pounds at eighteen years old. &nbsp;I have been &#8220;yo-yoing&#8221; over the years. &nbsp;I was also an on again, off again smoker until I finally quit after &nbsp;my TIA. &nbsp;I hate being obese and am trying to lose weight again. &nbsp;This time, I am going to all of the right things to maintain my weight loss this time. &nbsp;I am not at my goal weight but I am slowly getting there. &nbsp;It takes time and patience to lose weight. &nbsp;I realize it is &nbsp;extremely hard for people to quit smoking. &nbsp;As I said earlier, I was an on again, off again smoker. &nbsp;What worked for me was doing crosswords, word finds. or some other kind of puzzles every time I got a craving for a cigarette. &nbsp;I focused on something else other than the craving. &nbsp;It worked for me but I realize that what may work for one person, may not work for another. &nbsp;Everyone must do what they know will work for them. &nbsp;I am speaking of both losing weight and quitting smoking. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
