To find out, simply answer the following seven questions honestly.

Can not escape the eyes of a smart phone, always check emails or monitor the work. Body is currently being home with baby, shopping at the mall, or maybe dinner with the family, but the focus of the mind who knows.

Sounds exhausting or depressing? But, for some people, the condition is normal. Indeed, when they can not find out the latest information about the job, came the panic. This is an obsession with work has unwittingly become a form of addiction.

To find out if a person includes a workaholic or work addiction, researchers from Norway and the UK to develop a method. The method is named “Bergen Work Addiction Scale ’serves to measure a person’s obsession with his job.

Seven criteria contained in it, which can be tested by answering the questions. Answer the question, consisting of five, which is “never”, “rarely”, “sometimes”, “often” and “always”.

“By conducting the tests themselves, the workers can measure if he is not the type of person who is addicted to work, a little addicted to work or is very addictive,” says Cecilie Schou Andreassen from the Faculty of Psychology, University of Bergen Andreassen, quoted by the NY Daily News.

Curious as to what tests? Simply answer the seven questions below honestly, with response categories “never”, “rarely”, “sometimes”, “often” or “always”.

You think how to work longer?

You spend more time working than they should?

You work to reduce feelings of worry, guilt, or depression could help?

You’ve been warned spouse, friend, or the people closest to reduce activity, but never listen?

You become stressed if you have limited access to work?

You forget about hobbies, passions or leisure time because of work?

You are very busy working to have health problems?

According to research, if you answer “often” or “always” to four or more questions, you are in danger. The obsession with work is so high that addictive and led to panic and stress when unable to access it.

This method was developed to conduct research at the Norwegian 12 135 workers spread across 25 countries. The study, published in Scandinavian Journal of Psychology, also found a person addicted to work at high risk for insomnia, stress, including the rise of conflict within the family.

Some people consider that kind of person who would have loved this workaholic boss, because high loyalty to the job. But, in fact, not always the case, working long hours just so the question, whether they work quite effectively.

“It could be because they did not believe with others, so do not want to delegate work. Alternatively, the workaholic who can not work in a team or do not have the ability to organize their work well,” said Bryan E Robinson, PhD, author of Chained to the Desk: A Guidebook for workaholics.

This article is about how Obama's broken promises and failed policies prove Obama does not care about Americans.

Let us agree that a person who actually cares makes a positive contribution to your life. A friend hears of a job and calls you and gives you all the details so you can go apply. A spouse agrees to work extra hours in order for you to finish your education and improve your job opportunities. These people care.

There is no politician that is coming to your home with the perfect for you job under their arm. Making you weak and dependent on government is not caring for you.

The reality is that liberals have been tearing at your heart and soul for the majority of your life trying to convince you that government should be your second chance. With their art they get you to develop a bad attitude about life. This bad attitude makes you drop out of school, make children you cannot afford, join violent gangs, abuse alcohol and drugs, and spiral down to an existence of emotional turmoil and mental health hardship. They do this with their art ridiculing the foundations of society such as family, personal responsibility, education, and hard work.

We too are willing victims as long as we can be passive and emotionally blackmail people into taking care of us. However, when we get to a certain age we realize we squandered our potential and denied ourselves our romantic ideal.

If Obama cared he would realize the basic human function that gives joy and happiness from planning a dream and working to accomplish that dream. Obama only cares about feeding his narcissistic need to feed his own ego.

I believe it is appropriate after three and half years to evaluate the lack of progress of Obama. Jan 21 2009 the unemployment rate was 6 percent. It rose to 11 percent. It is now reported at 8.3 percent. The only reason the unemployment rate has gone down is because people have given up on looking for work.

In addition, Mr. Obama has stopped economic growth with his bad attitude towards the successful, his enormous spending, and his desire to raise taxes. Who wants to be successful when Obama wants to take the away the rewards of personal success?

I have said that one function of government is to administrate the departments of that government. Mr. Obama as chief executive officer of the American government has had “fast and furious”, “GAS splurging at Vegas, “Secret Service in Columbia”, “Department of Energy harassing American energy producers”, and many more scandals related to the departments he, Mr. Obama, is supposed to be administrating. Part of administration involves auditing for waste, fraud, and mismanagement.

Therefore, Mr. Obama has done everything wrong and it is costing the average American citizen. A person who cares makes better choices. These choices actually help people help themselves.

However, all we see from Obama is mismanagement, fraud, and waste. In addition, we see hatred and rancor from Obama towards anyone who disagrees with him.

Mr. Obama did the economy improve under your leadership? The answer is no. Therefore, you have not helped anyone.

The bigger question is “why are we being petty”. America needs mature and personally responsible people, who are self-reliant. People may tell me that I only say that because I do not understand how hard it is to find a job. I look at CareerBuilder and Monster.com almost every morning. Just because you do not want the job does not mean there are no jobs.

We need to care about ourselves. We need to be the solution to our challenges. Everyone blames politicians. Who lets politicians do what they did while in office. I believe that would be the apathetic, disinterested, and uninvolved citizen.

Now, I have a small fear that the independent voters’ narcissistic need to win will lead to another four years of Obama. However, you do not attack business people and the Christian church and then expect to win the presidency.

I am not going to say I understand how independent voters actually believe that Obama is a better choice for America. The following is what Obama with his own words and actions has proven:

1. Obama is not a leader in foreign relations.

2. Obama hates anyone who disagrees with him.

3. Obama uses bureaucracies to punish his political enemies.

4. Obama hates personal success.

5. Obama does not want anyone but liberals to have wealth.

6. Obama cannot keep his promises.

7. Obama likes to spend other people’s money.

8. Obama stops economic growth with negative criticism of business leaders, high spending, over regulation, and high taxes.

In Short when I see the state the country’s in the answer is yes. Border control is a joke and the agency has even admitted their mistakes but they aren’t going to do anything about it because that would take too much effort and money.

As well as immigration being out of control our justice system for foreign criminal is laughable. Our Government is letting people into our country without the proper checks and its putting our country at risk. The Government knows how bad it is they just won’t admit they’ve done anything wrong even though its clear for all the world to see.

I think we should be like France and Australia and have tougher rules. Australia will not allow anyone to stay in their country illegal and your only allowed in via visa if you have a trade and are able to work.

Its clear British people are getting angry here are the reasons why:

“ YES!!!!!!! look out the window. do you see more brits or immigrants? theirs your answer.”

“ Britain seriously has to stop letting just anyone in. I completely agree with you, the number of black and Asian in England now outnumbers the white and the number of foreign immigrants is rising in Scotland, Wales and Ireland.”

“ Europe are encouraging people to come and take our benefits. I have no problem with helping people but I don’t believe anyone should just come here for handouts.

Crime has gone up including rape etc. I used to be a Park Ranger and the parks were just rammed with immigrants that didn’t work. 90% foreign. The foreign bit doesn’t bother me, it’s the fact they are just sponging my money to sit in the sun.”

For a 6-year-old, one of the most powerful educational tools may be direct instruction, according to new research on how children learn about prejudice. Scientists found that as children get closer to age 10, they begin to rely more on their own experiences rather than what people tell them -- but for youngsters, instruction trumps experience.

oung Children Learn About Prejudice by Instruction, Older Children by Experience

Previous research has shown that between ages 3 and 6, children learn about and begin to apply stereotypes and can recognize overt discrimination. But between 6 and 10 years old, they become aware of other people’s stereotypes, able to perceive subtle discrimination by age 10. The new study sought “a deeper understanding of how children learn that they themselves may be targets of discrimination” by members of other groups, Kang says.”Young children are information hungry — they are eagerly searching for general rules to help in mapping out their social worlds,” write Sonia Kang and Michael Inzlicht of the University of Toronto in this month’s Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin. Across two studies that investigated how children learn about rejection, they found that external instruction and experiences play distinct roles in shaping how children characterize other groups of people.

Kang and Inzlicht recruited some 300 first-, third-, and fifth-grade students from an ethnically diverse elementary school in Toronto. The researchers created two arbitrary groups, the Reds and the Blues, and placed all the children in the Red group. They then provided opportunities for the Red group (ingroup) to learn about the Blue group (outgroup) by either instruction, experience, or both.

In the instruction condition, each child heard that “Kids in the Blue group are really mean to kids in the Red group” and “you’ll really notice how Blues are mean to you.” In the experience condition, researchers orchestrated a negative experience with the outgroup, where the Blue group member could have left the child 10 tokens (either stickers or candies) but instead left them nothing at all.

The first grade students who heard about the mean Blue group perceived them more negatively than those who received no tokens from the Blue group. The reverse was true with fifth graders — the older children judged the other group most on the number of tokens provided. In another set of conditions where some children were given negative information about the Blue group but then received many tokens from them, the divide between first and fifth grades was also clear: For the first graders, the impact of instruction was powerful enough to undermine the contradictory information about the tokens, while the opposite was true for the fifth graders.

The results show that young children’s “expectations about experiencing prejudice will be shaped by the beliefs that are communicated to them by adults,” Kang says. “The expectations that are established in early childhood are likely to form the building blocks for beliefs about stigmatization later in life.”

Kang and Inzlicht point out that this study demonstrated the power of instruction with a one-time message from a previously unknown experimenter. The power commanded by a parent, sibling, or teacher who has a closer relationship and the opportunity for repeat messaging would be even stronger.

Teachers and parents should focus more on teaching young kids about positive elements of equality and diversity, Kang says, while avoiding overly strong negative warnings about discrimination. “While it is important to equip children with the ability to recognize discrimination when it happens, we don’t want them to shut themselves off from the possibility of positive relationships with members of groups different from their own.”

At the same time, “our work suggests that older children are going to be more influenced by their own experiences, so it’s not enough for us to lecture to them about equality and diversity-related issues,” she says. “We need to help create situations and environments that foster positive experiences among children from all backgrounds.”

A very ambitious student gets caught up in the recession; four years after graduating from university he finds himself with debts of $60,000.

As a child, each and every one of us has dreams of becoming a doctor, engineer, teacher or even president of a country. As the time passes by and we grow up, some of us are lucky enough to fulfil those dreams, while others remain behind closed doors and not able to achieve any of their dreams. Let’s imagine for a few minutes, what happens to those of us who are ambitious and have not been able to achieve their goal? Despite the fact they have devoted their whole life to the purpose of achieving one goal.
Let’s take the example of someone I have known for a very long time; he wants to remain anonymous. Ever since, I have known him, he has been a very ambitious and hard-working person. As a child he wanted to work in the media industry as a PR Executive and it was the only job he wanted. He was a good student at school, with an excellent character.
He wasn’t the brightest student in the class, but was average, yet very ambitious and diligent. As we grew up together, he successfully graduated from High School with good grades and proceeded to go to college. After graduating from college, he went to university to study a degree course to follow his dream. While studying full time he was working part time in order to cover his expenses. In addition, he attended unpaid work placements with major PR companies, which would be useful for him to secure a job once he graduated from university.
He graduated from university with a Merit grade, which he didn’t expect. He was shocked and disappointed with the grades because the low grade meant that it might jeopardise his long term goal to become a PR Executive. But he remained hopeful that he could start a career somewhere in PR industry.
After sending thousands of applications and resumes for two years, he didn’t find work in the media industry, so he decided to apply for jobs in the banking sector, as he had previously worked as a part time customer sales person. But it seemed he was running out of luck, as he could not find a full time job in the banking sector.
When he graduated, it was the start of the recession, which made it even more difficult for him to get a job in any sector. Like thousands of other graduates he was also the victim of the recession. After two years of searching for a full time job in all sectors, he was still jobless, although he worked as a part time customer service representative, which wasn’t his ideal job.
During this period, he had been borrowing money from credit cards and banks as he used to hold an excellent credit scoring. But he was unaware that he had borrowed too much. Four years later, he was still working as a part time customer service representative for a company, and he was only earning just enough to cover his rent. He was really worried about his health when he realised that he had borrowed $60,000, which he could not pay back any time soon.
His only hope was to buy lottery tickets, if he could win a lottery to pay back his loans. Although he didn’t consider himself lucky enough to win a lottery, he remained optimistic. Buying lottery tickets was giving him hope rather than anything else.
I had no idea that a degree course would cost you so much. If he had not followed his dream to study, he would not have been at the same position as he is now. Education is supposed to make your life better, not worse, but I have come across several people who have been left without hope after earning their degrees.
There is a question in my mind, after all those years: was it worth dreaming, spending most of your time and money in education?

Bored at work? Not much atmosphere in your dull office? Fear not as below are five great ideas for finding your workplace's community spirit, including: sports, volunteering and coffee!

I’m not sure what’s going on around our office recently but ever since the turn of the year we’ve been really getting into the community spirit. Usually I work in a pretty insular and quiet environment where most people have their headphones on or they’re trapped in meeting rooms or on conference calls. Christmas is pretty much the only time that we get involved with secret Santa gifts and going out to celebrate as a group. However, just recently, things have started to change.

Now, don’t get me wrong I’m all for togetherness, caring and sharing but things are starting to get out of hand! Anyway, below are the 5 separate office-based clubs that I’ve managed to get myself roped into and, you might be pleased to know, there isn’t a squash ladder in sight.

Coffee Club
Every two weeks or so an email enters my mailbox declaring that it’s coffee time which means that I now have to find £3.00 to place on the desk of my colleague, Keith. Since January, Coffee Club has developed from two people to four and although we’ve lost a couple of ‘clubbers’ along the way we’re still going strong after three months and counting. It does make sense to join together and buy coffee in bulk and for my £3.00 contribution I get a part share in 908gs of ground coffee that originates from the furthest corners of the globe.

Cake Fridays
This little club does exactly what it says on the tartan tin and as Laura (CF organiser) always says: ‘no bake no cake’. Basically, one of fourteen members bakes a cake on Friday and the other thirteen members happily devour it with a cup of tea and give their feedback through crumb-laden mouths. So far we’ve had a selection of fudge brownies, some amazing rocky road and a plate of delicious Polish delicacies. Personally, I’d never ever contemplated baking before but inspired by my colleagues’ endeavours and the Great British Bake Off I knocked up a passable coffee and walnut sponge that went down rather well I don’t mind admitting.

Get sporty
There’s nothing better for team bonding than a good old game of sport, and as we’re lucky enough to work close to Brighton beach, chances to play volleyball are numerous. However, after a recent fit of ‘let’s do something sporty’ six of us ended up travelling to Crawley to take on the IT department at 5-a-side football. Now, I know it’s the taking part that counts but, suffice to say, we won now let’s move on. Anyway, I got to talk to people I wouldn’t normally talk to and kick people I wouldn’t normally kick so all in all, a jolly good time was had by all.

Volunteer Day
Once a year our company allows us to break free from our work desk shackles so we can disappear into the local community and do something other than pen pushing and screen staring. This year we visited an allotment that produces vegetables and fruit for local people and also encourages volunteers to get involved and find out more about gardening and working on the land. I used to associate these sorts of projects with volunteer work abroad but since getting involved I’ve realised that there are plenty of disadvantaged people closer to home that need help as well. Still, here’s hoping upper management have a sudden attack of philanthropy and decide to send us off to Thailand or Nepal to volunteer abroad somewhere a little warmer!

The Friday Club
About a month ago I was sitting at my desk, minding my own business, when an email popped into my in-box inviting me and about twenty others to lunch. Now, this is quite an occurrence in itself as I usually spend lunch breaks alone counting seagulls but to be invited out with twenty others was just plain odd. As I read the mail in full I was delighted to find that a colleague in a different department had invited us all for what was to become the Friday Club. FC is where like-minded people get together at a different venue each week, eat a few savoury snacks and chin-wag until the siren calls them back to the office. This is a genius idea and a great way to end the week.

If you’re staring at the same four walls and wondering which one to climb first then STOP! Look around at your colleagues and think to yourself not what they can do for you but what you can do for them to make your working life just that little bit more communal.

Biog: Since writing this article Chris is sorry to inform you that Keith has decided to leave the Coffee Club and go in search of volunteer work abroad – the rest of the club are, of course, devastated.

There’s a problem with education in America, we all know that, but instead of berating you with gloomy stats and numbers, I’ll just tell you straight up what the problem is and how to fix it. I am, after all, a high schooler.

Our education system has no theoretical reason to fail; we’ve poured billions of dollars into it, harvested some of the best teachers our communities have to offer, and risen parental awareness. On paper, our education system shouldn’t be failing at all. But it is – our test scores fall far behind our competing countries’ test scores -, and the problem isn’t visible on paper, leaving some of us in wonder.

At essence, the problem is this: our education system has become too grade-centric. Teachers and students alike care not for the subject of their textbooks, but instead for the grades on their report cards. Each year’s classes no longer represent learning opportunities and topical enrichment, they represent numbers; digits that will either boost or weaken a GPA.

Teachers, for one, are paid based on their students’ performance. If students don’t do well, the teacher won’t do well, either. To ensure the continuity of his job, the average teacher would rather spoon feed materials to his students (eg test reviews that are basically the test, allowance of “cheat sheets,” excessive extra credit opportunities) than risk his students flunking or barely passing. I know this to be true because I sit through it everyday as do my friends from other states.

Students are just as bad. They oftentimes face immediate consequences at home for bad grades, and, to avoid this, go to extreme measures to compensate. Here lies the roots of Adderall abuse, report card plagiarism, late night and into morning cram sessions, stress, depression, and countless other ill affects.

All of this is part of a diversion tactic in both teachers and students. They focus not on the given subject, but on the grade they get by “doing well” in that subject, and, consequentially, look for ways to get around the subject and directly to that “done well” grade. This is why teachers spoon-feed their students, and this is why students pop pills like there’s no tomorrow. Nobody cares about the subject anymore, they care about the number, but how can one do well in a subject when he has no passion for it?

That, ladies and gentlemen, is the problem with our education system. How to fix it? Lessen the importance of the grade. Find other ways to “measure” a student’s ability.

Naturally, the individual teacher may find this hard to do. He does, after all, have to abide by the rules imposed by his superiors. In this manner, reform will come only from the top. But the individual teacher can help, simply by changing the attitude of his class. That is key. Find ways to make the students less interested in their grades and more interested in the topic, and then both parties will find the grades rising, as if by magic.

Work is a thing which declares the fate of a man. When the time comes we feel & understand the importance of sense of duty. The sense of duty makes the work excellent.

Work seems to be load without sense of duty. It is very hard to complete the work when we don’t think about its importance in future to us. When the time comes we feel & understand the importance of sense of duty. The sense of duty makes the work excellent. In the sense, our whole energy is joined with the work, which helps to complete it within time. WIthout this sense ,a man always remain down from others in the world. He never think about the supreme position without work.

Work is a thing which declares the fate of a man. The result of work is must for all the creature. No one can escape from his good or bad work. The result of bad work is always the worst. So, we can say that such works are the cause of all the mishappenings and tragedies to us. While the good work enhance the productivity , creativity and happiness in this world. So, we should resolve to do good works not bad ones.

Now, how can we check that a work is good one or bad one? The answer is simple. The work which feels you worry or you are unable to do it socially. You have a fear in your mind , doing that work & the work which hurts any creature of this world. Ex – a tree. Such works will be bad ones. But the works which you give an internal happiness or satisfaction and helpful to you and social purposes. These works shouldn’t hurt anyone . Such work will be good.

This whole world which seems to us by our eyes is the result of work done by the nature & its living beings. Nature is the best worker of this world. We should help the nature. PLANT TREES &SAVE EVERY DROP OF WATER. It is the best work in the world which helps the nature most. We should understand the need of the nature and should work according to it.

     THANK YOU!

A great many people are unaware of the mistakes they make every day which hold them back from promotion or good standing with their superiors. If a teacher at school or university is acting as a reference, they are not going to go out of their way to make you sound wonderful if you have been rude to them. Here are the most common ways people are rude without realising it.

Believe it or not, well over half of all people do this. They hold themselves back from earning more money or from good standing with their teachers without ever realising it. This is because they make themselves seem less intelligent and more lazy than they really are. And this is how they do it.

The most common mistake is the way you speak with your coworkers, boss, teachers, or superiors. Most people who are aware that their position is above yours will want to be treated accordingly. This doesn’t mean you need to grovel and bow, but it does mean that you should not be overly friendly and casual. Telling your friend that their girlfriend is “f***ing hot” might be fine, but it is not at all appropriate to say the same thing to your boss. Even if your boss treats you this way, and has indicated that it is okay for you to do the same, it is always best to err on the side of caution. Always be professional, or you will not succeed in a professional environment.

If this is hard for you to do, imagine the person you try to behave best for. It might have been your mother when you were 12, or your father-in-law, or an old boss with high standards. Behave this way in any situation that is professional or academic. It sounds small, but considering that over half of all people are held back from promotion and are thought of as inappropriate and immature because of it, it cannot hurt to try. Anyone looking to recruit or give raises will think, “this person cannot even be bothered behaving properly, why would I expect them to work properly either? I’m not giving them the promotion!”

The second most common mistake is in written correspondance – typically email. You probably already know that you need to be careful with emails, because anything you send can be forwarded to other parties. Anything you type is a permanent record attached to you, so only type things you are comfortable with the whole world potentially seeing. Perhaps three quarters of people, however, are quite unaware of this. I know university professors who receive emails which say things like “i forgot the hmwk lol can u give me a extnsn?” This is hugely inappropriate. It takes only a few seconds longer to type “Dear Professor, I apologise that I have been unable to finish the assigned homework. Is it at all possible to receive an extension? Kindest regards, …” From the professor’s point of view, then, this is a person who is too lazy to type even for a few seconds longer, and is also unintelligent enough to, after 18 or more years of life, not have learnt even the most basic rules of social conduct.

I have seen high school students writing to their teachers asking for a reference for jobs or college. A well-written request almost always results in a better reference. For a busy teacher, if the student doesn’t think the job is worth writing a decent email about, then it must not be worth the teacher’s time to write a shining reference for either. By writing poorly, you betray a low intellect, ignorance, rudeness, and that you feel it is unimportant. I am sure none of these things are true, yet this is how things come across.

It is surprising how many people are unaware of these things. Most people seem ignorant of the fact that it is always better to be overly polite than overly rude. It is always safer to seem professional, especially in writing or with superiors. These are the people who, year after year, are not promoted. They do not receive raises. And why should they? Their attitude tells their boss that they do not think the job is important enough for them to put in the tiny effort needed to be professional. If they don’t think their job is important, then the boss would be wasting a promotion on them. Better to give it to someone who thinks it is worth getting.

It takes so little effort to be professional. By not putting in that effort, you tell the world that if you won’t put effort into something like that, then when more important things come up, there is little reason to believe that you would work hard then. You come across as unintelligent, ignorant, and lazy. But you aren’t that sort of person. So put the effort into making people realise that.

For more, see 5 most common mistakes made when applying for a job and how to seem more intelligent. You have been telling people an incorrect view of yourself for years. Make them see just how smart and worth-while you really are!
