In work, it is real weighty to fuck your own penning goals. This makes you thrust on with your operate rater than to train it for granted and permit oeuvre deadlines to arrive quick without warning.

Composition might pressing you a immature but this is not something that you’ll seem emphasize at the end. It is few variety of a certain energy for you to opine big without any hesitations virtually your penning.

Writers with bigger goals in penning can job easily with what they are oeuvre. And because of this, they might as healed grow up with a guidance on how to eliminate it touch and culmination it in no instance.

Some writers imaginativeness big. They begin out their careers with big goals and immense plans. Are you the like way?

Having bigger goals in oeuvre is e’er associated with bigger ideas virtually your content. It is equal you are devoted with what you are accomplishment to attain in your oeuvre duty.

It is sort of draftsmanship inspiration and makes you search equal you truly object your task. How to uprise up with bigger ideas is another account and that’s your succeeding locomotion to change.

Sometimes, in enjoin to get author ideas for you topic, you should initial at smallest realise what your message is all nigh. This way, you module deed yourself digging up for writer substance to pee your case happen clearer and factual in penning your volume.

The succeeding locomote faculty be the mentation pioneer. Coming up to this measure is righteous easygoing if you know what to do and how to end up your oeuvre. Since you already bang your goals in oeuvre, this testament pass as your basis on how to amount up with plans in composition your assemblage.

If you impoverishment to make “the next extraordinary novel,” “a million-dollar bestseller” or “that new life-changing join,” then you know to begin it from a big line. Fact is, oeuvre that accomplishes brobdingnagian things check from themes that can be wise grand.

Writing big substance having larger-than-life characters overcoming huge odds and performing remarkable feats. It capital thinking big and activity big – no two construction almost it. After all, composition a big novel is real no unlike than authorship a bitty one – the other virtuous chooses to comprehend a solon gallant goal.

A copywriting story erst wise writers, “Drive for the stars, or you’ll come up with a containerful of mud.” That’s a testimonial I can get behind on. If you requisite to hit it big, you somebody to production big, no affair how daunting it may seem.

Equivalent all forms of composition, no big air is exploit to forestall you if you can’t food serious duplicate. That’s why we advise masses unsurpassed practices (we eff a ridiculously oblong position of those here), honing your satellite as often as you can and using the somebody Land writing tools around.

Lastly, don’t ever supply up. You might miscarry the prototypical few tries (it’s informal when you’re trying to hit “big”), but you’ll eventually accomplish it if you preserve finished it.

Most people dream of being richer than they are. A little – or even a lot – more money would always come in useful. How much is enough anyway?

The True Meaning of “Rich”

“Are you rich?” asked the young boy in the creative writing class I was giving yesterday to lower secondary children because this week contained World Book Day.

I didn’t give him my usual jokey answer. More normally the question is “Are you rich and famous?” and I answer, “Well, have you heard of me and do you think I’d be here teaching you if I had a lot of money?”

Normally students admit that they have not heard of me and then are astounded when I tell them how writers earn – or possibly how writers don’t earn – their money. I’m fortunate in that I do live from my writing, though the bulk of my income comes from my job as a lecturer in creative writing. I do have a solid portfolio of writing. I earn quite well directly from it but not enough to live on that alone.

The question this time, however, was a little more serious. The student was clearly gifted; he could write and he was already looking into the possibilities of choosing a writing-related career.

“Well, I don’t actually want anything,” I replied.

You could see him trying to compute what I was saying.

“I have everything I need,” I said. “When my car, my computer or my clothes get old I replace them. I eat good food at home and I live in a comfortable house. I earn my living doing something I enjoy. So, yes, I guess I’m rich.”

He nodded his head wisely, thought for a few more seconds and carried on writing.

His was one of the pieces I read out at the end.

How had he managed to elicit so much wisdom from me? I rather surprised myself as well. But it is absolutely true. I need and want nothing. I don’t even need a hobby. My visits to the gym and the swimming pool, even, are part of my writing life. A few meals out with friends and family, rehearsing and performing with a choir and enjoying a relaxing holiday are somehow not the end products of a working life but the celebration of the fact that that life is good. Those activities complement but don’t replace the main course, which of course, is my writing.

So, yes, I am rich indeed.

A series of strange and apparently unfounded deletions of articles written for Helium’s marketplace occurred in January. At a time, all of the articles submitted by me got deleted despite my thorough effort to write high quality pieces. However, after doing a little research on Helium’s forum, I found out that things like this happen to many other writers too.

A quick search of Helium’s forum made me realize one thing – nothing is simple or clear on Helium. There are lots of speculations and guesses, but very little clarification and information from Helium’s staff. Actually, there is no real information regarding the deletion of articles. The matter seems so complicated that it evolved into kind of a mythology.

Inconsistency

There seems to be a lot of inconsistency around the article deletion cases and choosing articles that will get full upfront payments. Different discussions on the forum clearly show that articles sometimes get deleted for no apparent reason. It does not happen to everyone. However, it happens and nobody is able to give a clear answer, not even forum’s moderators. Apparently, well-written works adhering in all points to Helium’s guidelines get deleted on occasions. On the other hand, many articles of lesser quality than those deleted get through and their authors get transition credit or even the full upfront payment!

Nonetheless, everybody including forum’s moderators and Helium’s channel stewards is just guessing on the reasons behind these decisions. Though, I will not focus on inconsistency in awarding full upfront payments. Article deletion is my problem.

Possible reasons behind the deletion

The most apparent reason is that the article was poorly written. This might be the case for some deletions. However, I know that it was not the case in at least 3 out of 4 deletions of my articles. I checked them afterwards and there was nothing wrong with them. Anyway, the last deletion was not even accompanied with supposed reasons behind the deletion. After searching the forum, I have found out that this happened to several other people too. There also were several suggestions from experiences Helium writers and forum moderators.

Deadline – One of the suggestions was that those articles were actually submitted after the deadline for submission. It sounds crazy as titles are supposed to close for further submissions as soon as the deadline is reached. A glitch in program behind the marketplace could make it possible though. This reasoning would also explain why my articles were deleted so fast and one of them even without any further explanation. After all, I submitted all of them on the last day. It is possible that those titles should have been taken off by the time I posted my articles.

Mysterious editors - several writers on the forum were talking about some mysterious editors that are behind many deletions of articles on Helium. Stories of editors seems kind of like a myth to me though. Nobody knows their identity and none came forward to this day, but they are supposed to be in charge of random checks and deleting articles on marketplace before the rest gets to be read by Helium’s staff and the winner of full upfront is chosen. Anyway, in such a case, some anonymous persons who do not have to provide any real reasons decided to delete my articles apparently just because they do not like something about me (probably was the same person in all cases).

Human failure – another possible reason is that people checking the articles were tired/confused/angry/whatever when they were reading/skimming through my articles. Negative feelings would explain why they deleted my articles that were of the same quality as those that got through. I submitted them on the last day possible. Many people do that and so there might have been too many articles for them to check. It is also possible that someone just picked my name and put it in auto-delete box for marketplace. That would be tragic as I would not be able to get any upfronts from now on. Anyway, auto-delete thingy really exists.

I read a discussion where some writer was complaining about his article getting deleted over and over again even after he made all the required corrections. The reason behind this (according to several channel stewards) was that person who deleted his article before left his name in auto-delete for that title. So, our articles can get re-deleted (and probably also deleted for the first time) from Helium even when there is no real reason for that to happen.

Conclusion

Searching the forum did not provide the answers I needed. However, it gave me several suggestions. Personally, I think that at least in three cases, my articles got deleted because I submitted my articles a bit too late. Though, mysterious editors and their incompetence or failure of other people might be behind the strange deletions of my articles as well as articles of many other writers too. Just to clarify, the reason for most of those deletions was bad grammar. I re-checked those articles several times and there were no mistakes that would justify deleting my articles (actually, I found none at all), especially after I have read accepted articles containing many serious mistakes. Anyway, I decided that I will further test the new Helium’s upfront payment system next few days by submitting as many good quality articles as I can write. Though, I will write to the titles that have at least 3 days left on them. If none of them (or only low percentage) get through, then I will know that problem lies somewhere else.

The introduction to an article series on how to heal yourself as a writer by using a variety of free, easy-to-learn tools, tricks, and tips that allow you to banish negative thoughts and emotions and create work on a daily basis.

Let me ask you a simple question, and be honest with your answer: Who has ever told you that writing is supposed to be a difficult and forced job that you’ll never get paid for, no matter how hard or how long you write? In those exact words, who has ever told you this? … While you may not have heard it spoken like that, this is what millions of writers are told, nay, taught throughout their writing lives.

Why? Because it all “comes with the job,” as they (whoever “they” are) say. What do you mean writing is supposed to be a fun, entertaining career? Blasphemy, I say! Writing is a difficult, stressful job, and only the strong can survive.

Bullshit. I’m a junior in high school, and every day before school (that means getting up at 6:30 A.M. every morning, weekends included) I get up, stretch, and write until the bus pulls up at my stop at 7:15 A.M. The page calls to me to write, and I do its bidding. I don’t waste twenty minutes desperately seeking a story or article idea, because it’s all stewing in my head and all I have to do is push that egotistical inner editor aside and allow the words to come out of my pen. I am unable to judge what I’m writing, otherwise I’ll never get anything written.

However, I never used to write like this. I was like all the other stereotypical writers of today: Wallowing in negativity and despair, hating myself and my writing, hating the world and hating ever following that long-lost voice of yester-year that called me to become a writer. Ideas were few and far between, and I read so many how-to articles about writing and finding inspiration that after a while, my inner editor, who was so powerful at that time, influenced my thoughts to the point that how-to articles were full of lies and would never help me again.

After experiencing my worst writer’s burnout ever a few weeks ago (I’d gotten to the point of getting ready to torch every scrap of writing I’d ever written in my entire life and pursue a career in a “real” job) a small voice said to me,

“Writing doesn’t have to be so stressful, Alexia.”

Of course, my inner editor drowned out this statement with its own negative rebuttals, such as, “Yeah, right,” or “If writing isn’t supposed to be so stressful, then why is it happening to you? Go do something else with your life while you still can, and forget about writing.” Too weak to fight back, I succumbed to my inner editor’s words and forgot about the statement, but it gnawed at me deep in the back of my skull.

One night, fed up with all the self-abuse, I opened up a Word document and said to myself, “Okay, I’m going to choose three words at random to write about; each word gets a time limit of 5 minutes. If I can finish all three writing sessions, I will continue writing, if not, the hell with it.” Setting the timer, I wrote. The words were forced and dry and the inner editor pelted me with insult after negative insult, but I’d finished each prompt.

I had written something that day. I was still a writer. The inner editor was frothing at the mouth at being ignored, but the call to write was still flickering somewhere inside me, and I had just had to be willing to heal myself in order for that flame to grow.

This leads me to the subject of this article series: How to heal as a writer. The treatment of healing a writer is quite simple, and results in interesting, unexpected results. By using the techniques that I’ll be writing about in this series, you, too, can learn how to write every day, how to achieve your writing goals (short and long term), how to stay positive and optimistic despite what other people say, and much more.

Stay tuned for the next part of the series entitled, “How to heal as a writer part 1: Five simple techniques to start the healing process“

I wrote before that writing can be a great therapy and I found out that in a community, it can have a double effect. Here my remarks on how the therapy works and how it can improve you as a person.

Writing is a great therapy. Nobody will ignore that. But why? Here some facts that you might consider on how on line writing and sharing your views, knowledge and experience might change yourself.

1) Self reflection

A lot of inspiration comes from your own experiences. Do not be too afraid to share them. We all have our down moments and we should not feel bad about it.

Most things that society does not like, is in all of us. We are all gossipers, hypocrites and whatsoever. We all want recognition. Only an honest person is not to blind to see this.

So yes, we all start as attention whores to be read. Don’t mind this: it is a normal human need that is in all of us, but not always expressed in writing for a public.

2) Self knowledge

Get to know yourself and become more self confident. You may start publishing as a scared rat, that thinks (s)he has nothing to say. If you feel puny, do not mind. Most artists are also shy people, who put up an act.

Well, you pen or keyboard can be your act. It helps you to express what you normally would not. It can help you be creative with you dark side for example, since jealousy, hate and fear is also in all of us.

Only few dare to share this in an artistic way. Is it wrong? Well, some might really lose themselves and become cruel psychopaths. What is best for the community? A writer who knows his/her dark side and writes about cruelty or a serial killer?

3) Developing ethics

What do you write? Or better: what do you publish? There is a thin line between information and slander. It might all depend on how you report the facts.

If you write autobiographic or pieces of opinion, you will find out that your are marked by some negative experiences and that you might like to bash down those who have hurt you.

Well, when you write it down in your diary, it is OK. But when you publish something, you might reconsider some things.

You will be read and the other side also has a story. Nobody is perfect and you will find your ethics and your integrity along the way. Do not mind re-working or deleting articles that do not fit into your moral code anymore.

These can differ from writer to writer, also depending on the reader. Some might like slander and gossip and some writers will provide, but some might like to entertain, educate and inspire.

See what kind of writer you are. Do not feel bad that you might fit into several categories.

4) Objectivity

Publishing your feelings is OK. Nobody is fully objective and opinions make us unique and help us develop our style.

Yet, I figured out that taking a distance from yourself and re-reading your work a couple of months later, might make you change your content.

Why? Your situation might have changed, or you do feel that you may sound like a boring drag and not like an interesting writer at some points. Well, this can be so and maybe others think that way as well, if your views are remaining low.

By reading and learning from others, you might improve and re-edit your articles so they might become even more useful and more worthy to read. You may express your feelings different and realize you can do better.

Writing from your own emotions and experiences will remain, but you might bring the info different when time passes.

5) Social awareness

You learn to understand others if you learn to know yourself. You might become more empathic and open your view on the world.

A good writer is also an alert reader. Reading others is a way to improve. There is a quote that you own all your knowledge to others.

This might be so. But sane people like to inspire others in a positive way.

Well, maybe you should not become a writer to self improve, if you do not want to, but yet sharing your emotions and experiences with others is always rewarding.

When you write, are you writing something valuable? Something of lasting importance? Some people TALK about revolutionaries, others ARE the revolutionaries, so which one do you choose to be?

I have seen that on blogs and forums people often talk about popular topics of the day. It is my belief that writing about what’s popular too much kind of kills a subject, I say this from both observation and experience. Sometimes, something needs to be written that flies in the face of all things popular.

Stir up some people’s thought processes for a change, be original.

Write a piece of controversial value, write a piece of historical importance, write a piece that people will remember 150,500, or 2000 years later. Whatever you do, just write SOMETHING worth reading. Some people TALK about revolutionaries, others ARE the revolutionaries, so which one do you choose to be?

This article is dedicated to the fearless, the driven, and the brave that have the nerve to shake the masses.

Be the voice you’ve longed to hear that one that speaks truth with conviction even if it gets you shunned.

My favorite writers are the bold, and they usually have more critics than fans.

Thanks for reading, friends.

What it takes to be honest with ourselves about our love, heartache or tragedy in our relationships.

I’ve been wondering about those times when we can’t write at all, because we feel overly emotional about love. What is it that stops us? Most of us know this as writers block, but their are those of us that are “affected” by our writing that it can set off all sorts of emotions that confuse us, and holds us back. It can become difficult to sort out those feelings at times, and to put them into words. Sometimes I have a really hard time with my writing, because my topic is closely related to my life; In fact, it is about my life and love. As I go through my relationships, and I try to write about love, the sadness and to make sense of someone else, I can spend weeks trying to figure it out. I question so many things happening between us, and I come to so many Revelations. It does become frustrating, but I know what my intention is with my writing, and so I follow that. My goal has always been to write about my love as it is, and in a truthful manner. So, much of my time is spent trying to analyze my “truth.” It is up to me to get down to that truthful bottom, so that I can remain true in my feelings about things. I also know that part of the process can be changing my mind about what I once felt. Sometimes it takes years to really get honest with ourselves about love. I want to get it right the best that I can. I want to get my writing honest. I’ve struggled for a few months now to get to that “bottom” of how someone that I love treats me wrong. I had to fight so many emotions to realize that I am deserving of so much more from love than what I had. The anger, the heartache, the hurt, the sadness, and the endless games from her, when would it be enough for me to let go? When would each time I said, “enough,” really be enough to leave? How many times did I overlook things that she did that were so hurtful, because I was in love. At some point, we need to strongly look at things for what they are, because no one deserves to be treated so badly. So, that “truth” is the decision maker. Do we stay? Or, do we go? I haven’t decided on my stories ending yet, but I know that I’ll be getting there through honesty.

The following are ten tips that may be helpful in easing the writing frustrations of your relationship, or of writing about something that closely affects us negatively:

Give it time. Writing about our own lives, and how we see things won’t always be easy. Take the time necessary to see things more clearly, so that you will feel more confident in your goal of writing with honesty. I worked on one topic for almost two months, because I wasn’t satisfied that I was making sense yet of what I was going through. I was frustrated, but also patient, and in time I reached my truth.

Keep attacking it. Don’t be afraid to keep going after your topic, because if you stop thinking about it you’ll never get “your awakening.” I see this as a breakthrough, and the only way for us to grow is to continue to learn about ourselves. A sticking point is not a failure, it’s an opportunity to get deeper within ourselves.

It’ll come. The last thing that you want to do is to give up. Writing can be frustrating, and we won’t always find the words flowing out of us. Eventually what we are searching for we shall find, and we will be satisfied. Sometimes with patience we see that there is a better way to work through a struggle with our writing.

Time helps us make sense of it all. Stepping back, and analyzing something is never a bad idea. Sometimes I’ve written something, but I know that my perception of what I once thought has changed. Getting to the bottom of what our truth is takes time, and the ability to know how to get to the truth. I have no problem waiting anymore to take the time to make sense of something, because when I get that end result I am much better satisfied. It is a proud moment when we have finally reached near perfection with something that took longer to complete.

Things can change for us. We should never think that what we once felt can’t be retracted. We may write about someone, or a feeling that we have only to realize much later that we were wrong all along. It could be that people may come in and out of our lives changing our feelings about them, or situations. Our level of respect for someone may change, and within our story we should add that. It could be years later, and we never can predict what can happen to change our thoughts on something. Writing is a progression, and as we change our stories will change, and grow. We don’t need to stop at one book when we can write many. We can always find a way to make a wrong a right, and I have no problem admitting this.

Things have a strange way of happening. We have no certainties in life, and we will never know when, or how something will happen. So, expect the strange and unexpected, because we can’t control everything. With relationships when we think that it may be over, it may not be. So, what we wrote about three years ago, and has been long forgotten, we may be writing about today as he/she shows up on our doorstep.

Don’t fear getting emotional. If you are writing about your own personal love story, feel as though you go back to that place in time, or conversation in order to bring it to life as it happened. Most people expect love to be tragic, perhaps before the stories happy ending.

Don’t hold back your feelings. You are putting in so much time and effort into your writing, so don’t hold anything back. This is your chance to shine, to get it said perfectly, and you may be relying on this shot for a book deal. If you hold back, you’ll never know where you could have taken your writing. Always try to take an idea to the next level.

Don’t fear hurting someone with the truth. When we write about love we may be holding back, or hiding some things not to hurt someone we love. This may be someone from our past or present that has or is hurting us. When we love someone very much, and they don’t treat us the same, it’s still hard for us to want to be truthful in fear of completely losing them. This has happened to me a few times within my writing, but it took for me to realize that I deserved so much better for me to finally not be afraid of hurting someone else, because of the truth. Once you give up hoping that you will have the love that you wanted with that person, because it’s not going to happen it’s easier to be honest and not be so concerned about what they will feel. If someone is selfish see it as such.

Use honesty with your feelings as an experience to grow. Our relationships aren’t always going to be terrific. Be honest with yourself about how someone truly makes you feel, because when you do you may realize how unhappy they really make you feel. You may feel that you have found your deepest love with someone, but it doesn’t mean that you are happy, or that the relationship is the right one for you. Their should never need to be so many things that you need to overlook about the person you love, and you should never need to feel emotionally empty.

As writers, we can learn as much from ourselves through honesty in our writing as our readers can learn from us.

An essay about computers and its features, benefiting communication in modern day.

The computer originated in 1897 when it was first designed for general computing and calculating. Over the past few decades, computers have advanced astoundingly. It can now manipulate data to create games, software, word-processors, and much more. Even more surprising was the development of simple, fast, and user-friendly programs (e.g. email) that allowed people to communicate from any computer that has an internet access. These changes in communication have left a significant positive effect onto the modern world.

In the past, communicating has always been a problem because it involved a great deal of effort – especially if the distances were vast. In the past, it was a labour to send a message overseas, occasionally taking months to be delivered; however, a person with a computer today would only take a moment to do the same thing. Today, with the development of email and instant messaging, people are now communicating effortlessly with each other. In an instant message, people have developed new ways to write and express their ideas which allows them to be more efficient.

Communication in computers has not only changed speed and efficiency of writing, but also the quality. There has been an improvement in neatness, grammar, spelling, word-use in many word-processed essays. “[People] with word-processing experience exhibit an editing style that is characteristic of better writers,” says Richard Pearce. It seems the handy tool has not only extended the complexity of written work, but also gives idea-generating prompts and increase “maturity” in the work as well. Yet, some people believe it is the complete opposite. They consider computers as negative things that eliminate discipline and create simpler writers. Former Secretary of Defence, Robert McNamara believes otherwise, “A computer does not substitute for judgment any more than a pencil substitutes for literacy. But writing without a pencil is no particular advantage.” In fact, many people create astonishing works all from writing with a computer.

In another revolutionizing development, the computer has aided the advancement of business, science, and research. In business, companies depend on the computer to get tasks done and frequently update everyone with crucial information. A sprout of growth in science occurred as well, especially space exploration. In fact, the study of space and the world around us would not be possible without computers! Just think, using a computer would quicken so many labouring calculations, search through many research papers, or conduct a lab experiment with a click of a mouse. The invention of the computer is an amazing benefit to modern science; it’s basically a worldwide access of data right at the scientist’s fingertips!

Computers really have changed our society, the immense amount of positive effects are countless! In addition, communication with computers has revolutionized the world into a better place that is constantly benefiting people. No wonder people believe the twenty first century is fast-forwarding, and ever-changing!
