The Marshal of Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito wasn’t just a communist politician, nor just the supreme leader of former Yugoslavia. He wasn’t just a warrior, and a WW1 and WW2 war veteran and war hero, nor was he just a simple human being in the sense that we relate to one another. Tito was in every sense, the Yugoslavs( South Slavs) walking, living Saviour, that transcended faith and nationality. He was a man who so loved his people, that he freed his people, and ensured that we were free and powerful whilst he lived. He was a Communist, a man who lived for the Socialist ideal, and who believed in racial and national equality and peace between the people. He lived for freedom and peace, and punished racist, fascist nationalism. He is my hero, and an old family friend. Tito you are my hero, in you we pledge, 30 years on…….

The four conventions have been signed by all countries on this planet. While the international Red Cross is named as the only arbiter in the conventions, Switzerland acts as depository state for them.

Nationalism as a major political ideology dates its emergence to the French Revolution and its impact. That is not to say that nationalism did not exist prior to 1789, just that it was more important afterwards.
