Freedom
Freedom is the ability to do whatever you want.
Freedom is the divine state of being. If there is some sort of God out there it would be the only truly free being in the universe. We are all governed not just by our governments and legal systems but also by the laws of physics.
No one can be free unless they do not try to defy the bonds controlling them or they have no bonds controlling them. If your personality is that you want to do exactly what all bonds want you to do then they are not restricting you. If you do everything willingly you can be free. You have to want nothing to be free. For example: A man lives alone on an island in the middle of nowhere. He eats drinks and sleeps. He has everything he needs.
If he does not want more is he free? If someone has nothing and wants nothing are they free? If we didn’t know cars existed, would we want to drive them? So do you have to be all-powerful to be completely free? If you don’t have anything that restricts your freedom and want nothing more are you free?
If you lived in a hut in the centre of the moon and didn’t know about anyone else, could you be one of the freest beings in the universe? If you are ignorant of everything are you free? Or does that ignorance chain you to a life without freedom?
If you are free can you love? From my experience, love is the biggest thing that prevents freedom. I love my family and because of that love I stay in school and at home.
But without love isn’t life meaningless? Without love is there a point in living. In life, love is the key to enjoyment. What’s the point playing a game if you don’t even enjoy it? Without meaning in your choices, your life is meaningless. If you have no goal or point in life, what’s the point in living? If you hate everyone and everything, what reason do you have to live? What is the point of being here if only for the sake of it! Why live lives of torture only so as to be totally free?
Freedom is a deception. In itself freedom is torture. It is every aspect of a meaningless life. Freedom, total freedom is like a lifetime of solitary confinement.
And most importantly of all is total freedom a good thing?
Freedom is like Panadol: too much deadly, not enough a real pain in the neck.
