Meditation
Bettering the world through meditation.
Can we really control our own lives using meditation? To be free of dysfunctional emotions, reactions, and actions? Contentment instead of confusion? Calm instead of stormy, repetitive negative thoughts? Find compassion instead of indifference? By meditating?
When I hear of someone needing marijuana, cocaine, other illegal drugs, even legal drugs to deal with life’s pressures, it makes me wonder how they can deal with anything in the cloud of whatever aphrodisiac pollutes their minds and life. They don’t realize how out of control their lives are!
I’ve heard comments such as these, many of them are from my former significant other. Here are just a few.
- I smoke pot because life sucks and this is the only way I can deal with the stress.
- I need a prozac, because my ex is driving me crazy.
- I need a drink, the boss made my day miserable.
- I need a cigarette, just because they are there and legal,
The list goes on…..
No matter who you are, no matter how bad you think your situation really is, you do have the power to overcome all of these self-proclaimed “life problems” that you can only handle if you are. Meditation is the key.
If everyone in this crazy, sin-filled world would take just one minute a day, think about just one little thing they would rather be doing in that moment, whether it would be sitting in a hot tub, relaxing on a blanket by a waterfall, even thinking about heaven and what it is going to be like to be in perfect peace. Any thoughts of peaceful things that will relax you, even just for that minute.
Just mention meditation to someone where you work, or at lunch with some acquaintances, to whoever, immediately you are looked at like you are “weird” or “scary” or “freaky”. They look away, roll their eyes condemning the idea of someone “meditating”. Those fears and that is what they are, are totally unfounded because meditation is only about leaving the stress behind and relaxing your crazy thoughts that have been swarming around your brain constantly for as long as you can remember.
Whether it be one minute, 10 minutes, 30 or more, close your eyes, block out everything around you, relax, focus your thoughts on any thoughts that make you smile. Just try it for one day and see what happens. You will be pleasantly surprised especially if you compare it with yesterday or the day before or the day before….
In could have one huge wish and have it come true, it would be for everyone in this declining world we live in to meditate. It could change the world as we know it now.
