12 Ways to Avoid Work-Related Stress
Many people suffer from work-related stress which usually stems from pressure caused by tight deadlines, too much work, and too many problems encountered. While these factors cannot be avoided, there are several ways that you could take to minimize their stressful impact.
Although to some degree stress can be helpful in stimulating our productivity and creativity, just like anything, it is certainly unhealthy when excessive. There are many factors that can lead to stress; and among the most common of which, is your work. The effects of stress develop gradually over time and can be manifested through physical symptoms, emotional disturbances and even mental imbalance.
Many people suffer from work-related stress which usually stems from pressure caused by tight deadlines, too much work, and too many problems encountered. While these factors cannot be avoided, there are several ways that you could take to minimize their stressful impact.
Be organized
Time spent at the office can be maximized if you are organized. Be it in your emails, office supplies, and filing, proper management always provides a way to be on top of things, keeping unnecessary stress away.
Plan ahead and learn to prioritize
Take time to plan out a daily and a weekly schedule especially if you have a lot of work and priorities to tackle. List down your tasks and prioritize them accordingly, so you’d know which task can be put off till the next day should you run out of time.
Don’t procrastinate
Try to finish everything that needs to be done for the day without overworking. Should you really need to finish something, avoid staying so late for consecutive days that you’d end up over fatigued.
But if your day is not that hectic, maximize it by doing those tasks you’ve put off in a while for some reasons.
Don’t overwork
It’s possible to go home on time if you’ve set, prioritized, and accomplished all your tasks for the day. If you’re in the middle of a certain task, you may leave it if it’s not crucial for the day. If it is, try to give yourself a deadline say, an hour or two to finish it.
Take frequent short breaks
You should take a short break as often as possible to allow your body some rest. If your job entails the use of computers throughout your shift, get out of your chair every one to two hours and let your eyes and hands to rest.
Close your eyes for a minute or two to moisten them and prevent eyestrain. If possible, let your eyes settle on green scenery too, as it helps to revive tired eyes. Shake your hands and flex your fingers and wrists to promote proper blood flow. Take short walks to extend your legs and promote circulation to your lower extremities as well.

I am guilty of not eating too healthy, plus, I’ve not excercised in quite awhile now, so I guess I better get back into it. Thanks for sharing.
