A Brave New Beginning and Far From Mundane

by Mundane Lawyer in Work, April 13, 2009

The first post in a new blog exposing the laughable and sometimes strange daily life in an English high street law firm.

So, here we go, the first post in my new blog. The beginning. I can’t recall, now, quite why I thought this was a good idea.

I think that I thought some of the things that go on, so far untold, in the wilds of the English countryside, the outposts of the legal profession, might be interesting, enlightening or even entertaining to some.

For example, the case of the ‘transvestite-only’ day spa, the client who died – but didn’t, the consultant with the the clown-sex fetish, the obsessive-compulsive door closer, the hypochondriac PA, the lunch time fiddler and many, many more.

I know you probably thought that life as a high street lawyer was pretty mundane. To be fair, most of us are and so are our lives. I want to take you to the odd and revelatory world that is my law firm. Some days it is mundane, but some days it is certainly not. I don’t know if I’m blessed or damned.

I am not sure if it’s worse or better, but they are all true stories.

Stay with me over the coming months for an honest and sometimes risible expose of high street lawyers.
