Appearance in The Work Force

If you were an employer would you hire a person by their appearance or work habits?. My son has a Mohawk but he is willing to work but very few employers give him a chance to show himself and he is very strict about the way he dresses although i am sure he would keep his pants on his behind long enough ,but he refuses to cut his hair or take out his gages he calls them . Would you not hire him because of his looks or would you give him a chance to prove himself ?.I understand that some places go by appearances because people don’t want to look at someone they automatically judge as a punk . I guess  I’m  just biased because he is my son and everyone has their opinion.What if an over weight person asked to be hired on would they ? probably not ,but are they given a chance to show themselves ? very rarely .Let’s just say if a skinny person and an overweight person were to apply for the same job most likely the skinny person would get the position .Everyone wants to see overweight people exercise more well heres their chance to show everyone they can do it, sometimes better than a skinny person . Well that’s just my opinion
