Bully at Work!!!
There are few signs that can show if your work is not just a way to make money, but also a tiring situation.
1) Work is horror: if you think of your work with horror, you try to avoid talking about it and you often get physically sick thinking about your work week, experts say you are being bullied at work.
2) Criticism: if your boss keeps picking at the smallest detail, makes you rework the same thing although you have perfected it, or your colleagues are dissatisfied all the time, chances are you are being bullied by the person who has a different standard in mind.
3) Meeting: meetings and lunch are usually done secretly and away from you? This shows that they are trying to distance you from their work so you remain away from the projects, behind the scene and ignorant of company current events. Lunch is mainly to talk about successes, so your absence shows the absence of success. Keep alert!
4) Raise your voice: bullies tend to make their thoughts heard by yelling. So, if you have a lot of yelling around the office be careful not to be dragged into the topic!
5) Mistakes again: keeping a record of your old mistakes, referring to them to show your incompetence and falsely sticking mistakes onto you are simple tactics to keep you down and lower your self esteem.
6) Lies: if a bully yells at you, they would show their rivalry. It would be easier for them to spread lies and rumors that could negatively impact your professional life: such as hinder a promotion or stop you from getting training.
7) Obsessed: Although you have problems staying at work, your family really believes you obsess about work. This mixed feeling about work would show the problem you face while being at the job.
8) Sabotage: A bully might find ways to disrupt your work. Broken objects, cancelled tasks, changed projects without your prior notice, are all simple ways to anger you and keep you behind schedule. They can delete your files, turn off your computer while you’re in the kitchen and erase answering machines. Keep your stuff in a closed place and make sure everything is tamper-free.
9) Stolen: if your hard work goes to the credit of someone else, watch that bully. They tend to steal people’s work and act as if they have been doing all the hard work.
10) Schedules: a bully boss would not care of your personal life. So they tend to put important last minute meetings and tasks to be done, right on the day when you have to pick your children from school or when you have to go for a night class. Try to remain calm and try to learn the habits to bypass them.

Hi Annie,
You just helped me to understand what is going on at work. We have a new principal at a school where the moral has been high for years, but suddenly everyone is sad and feeling intimidated by her. She is a b—-.

Well written! I cant stand bullies at all; I remember being bullied while I was on my way to Kindergarten. I carried a large bag of marshmellows and a bully tried to take them away from me; so I fought to the end and won (I lifted him up and flung him over my shoulders). That memory still stays with me LOL

Though I was never bullied at work, I sure am glad I’m not in the workplace now.
