You must earn a good reputation from your hard work and consistency.

If you always miss the deadline, you need to change the habit. A simple way is to ask for a longer duration for the work.

You can also stay back to work on the job. If you still miss the deadline by a day, you can point to the fact that you have done your best.

3. Know your colleagues.

Many people will tell you that it is not what you know, it is who you know. That is why you must connect with the right persons.

You must get to know your colleagues, and express interest in their jobs.

If most of the colleagues love to run, you can take up running. You can join them and network with them.

4. Add value to the company.

You must learn to add value to the company.

It is easy to spot problems in the product or process. Once you find out the problems, you can write a proposal with a few solutions.

You can highlight the monetary gains of the various solutions. That is one way to add value to the company.

If you do not have the mindset of adding value to the company, you are not going to succeed in career advancement.
