Career: The Different Floor in the Hospital

All about the hospital floors.

 

If you want to work in a hospital, you can learn about the hospital environment. There’re different structures within a hospital. There’re also different unit within a hospital.

Administration

This is where customer service is served. People come here to check in and out. There’re securities here

Emergency room

This is where all emergency procedures are carried out. It’s hectic and fast pace here.

Pediatrics floor

This is where children are care for. They can be from several months to 18 years of age. They can be recovering or staying there for awhile.

Medical surgical floor

This is where patients are waiting for surgery or if they’ve came back from an intensive care unit. They’re still under treatment and still have some times to go before they’re released. They can also be unconscious.

Psychiatric ward

This is where they treat mentally ill patient. It can be children to adults. They are all different in severity.

Rehabilitation floor

This is where patients have recovered from an illness and they’re ready for discharge. They have little medication and they’re in good shape.

Obstetric floor

This is where people are giving birth to children. It’s a labor room. You will see all women here and they’re pregnant or have gave birth to a child already.

Intensive care unit

This is where they’re being treated for major trauma. They required close care from a single nurse. They come here after surgery or they’re waiting for surgery.

Operating room

This is where surgery takes place. People are not in this room unless they’re there for a scheduled surgery.

Dining room

This is where the employees eat. It’s a cafeteria.
