January 2005 – May 2005 Leeds Weekly:
During the early stages of 2005, I gained employment with The Leeds Weekly newspaper. My duties during this job were to distribute 400 copies of the Leeds Weekly Newspaper within the local area and to reciprocate feedback from the customer to the Newspaper. Throughout this job I learned good communication skills (as this was essential for the job) and the importance of speed and efficiency in the workplace.
May 13th – May 27th 2005 Nayburn Daycentre (Work Experience):
I attended year 10 work experience at a daycentre for the elderly and mentally ill. My duties included the provision of psychological and physical stimulation of the residents, ensuring that all of the health and safety requirements were met, helping to provide healthy and balanced meals to the residents and ensuring that a harmonious, non-discriminating environment was maintained among the residents. Through this experience, I learned the importance of health and safety within the workplace and how to deal with difficult situations and people.
January 2006 – January 2007 McDonalds P.L.C:
During the above period, I gained employment at McDonalds PLC in Killingbeck, Leeds. My duties during this job included; working as a Cashier, cooking up to 5 meals at a time, cleaning the dining area and toilets, cleaning the equipment used in the kitchen and working on the drive-through system. This job taught me the importance of hygiene in the workplace, health and safety in the workplace, excellent communication skills, how to act efficiently under pressure and deal with awkward customers and the importance of teamwork in the workplace.
January 2007 – November 2007 Leeds City Council:
During the above period I worked as an M1 cleaner at Boston Spa High School. My duties during this job were to ensure that the entire art area of the school was cleaned to a high standard in preparation for the next school day. This involved; sweeping, mopping and buffing the floors, wiping the desks, emptying bins, cleaning the windows and locking all doors. Through this job I learned the importance of hygiene in the workplace, the importance of an attention to detail and the necessity of speed and efficiency in the workplace.
Activities and Interests:
Music:
The greatest hobby in my life is music. I have had a passion for it since a young age. I play several instruments to a competent level including; Guitar, Piano, Bass Guitar, Violin and the Drums. I have taken part in many musical groups and organisations which I have listed below:

- Various trips with school violin class
2003-2005 Yorkshire North and West Army Cadet Force:
I attended for 3 years with The Prince of Wales Own Regiment at Towerhurst Detachment in Oakwood, Leeds. Through the army cadets I achieved several skills such as Field Craft, Skill at Arms, Map and Compass work, and rifle shooting. I attended many camping exhibitions of up to 2 weeks at a time. The most valuable skills I learned were; First Aid, alertness, obedience, teamwork, and leadership skills.
1999-2005 St. Patrick’s Boxing Club:
I attended St. Patrick’s Boxing club for 6 years. Through this I learned the importance of devotion, hard work and general fitness.
1997-Present, Fernvilles Sports Centre:
Up until the age of 14, I attended swimming lessons at Fernvilles sports centre. I achieved several awards including; dolphin awards 1-10, bronze-gold medal awards, life saver awards and rookie 1-4 awards. Through this, I learned the importance of devotion and hard work.
St. John’s Ambulance:
In addition to the first aid courses I attended with the Army Cadet Force and Fernvilles Sports Centre, I have completed multiple first aid courses through St. Johns ambulance.

Personal Statement:
I am a confident, hard working individual, and I am very easy to get along with. I am more than happy to follow orders and instructions as well as issue them where necessary. I have the ability to work as part of a team as well as on my own. I maintain a hands-on approach to tasks and will gladly spend time ensuring that a task is completed to the best of my ability. I am able to work quickly and efficiently and have a keen eye for detail. I am eager to learn new skills as well as apply those I already have. I believe that I would make a good employee for almost any organisation.
