Different Types Of Unemployment.

International labor organization defines Unemployment as a situation where people are without jobs and have actively looked for work within the past four weeks.There is no doubt that unemployment has now become a social evil in a society. And it’s rising with the passage of time. Both the developed and the underdeveloped countries face the problem of Unemployment. Unemployment has both the social and economical aftereffects. The resentment of millions of youngsters without gainful employment and practically nothing to fall back creates an explosive and uncontrollable situation.

Different Types of UnemploymentFollowing are the different Types of Unemployment.Structural Unemployment:Structural unemployment occurs when the job and the unemployed person does not match with each other. There may be vacancies in the jobs but the person may not have the required skills or it does not match with his standards. This type of unemployment also occurs when there is innovation in the technology due to which he labor is no longer required or where it takes time for labor to learn the new technology. These Types of Unemployment are also known as technological unemployment.

Cyclical Unemployment:This type of unemployment occurs when a country is having a recession phase and the demand for labor curtail. This type of unemployment is called cyclical unemployment because it describes the the economic position and a country’s business cycle. Seasonal Unemployment:Season unemployment as refer from the name is that Type of Unemployment which occurs when there is a change in season. For instance, in the summer season the workers of fishing industry are free.

However in the summer season the workers of construction industry are very busy. It differs from industry to industry. This Type of Unemployment occurs in the agriculture, construction, hotel and fishing sector. Hotels are badly affected in the off season. Frictional Unemployment:Frictional employment refers to the unemployment that occurs when a person is not satisfied with his job due to the circumstances or wage and for the sake of new job, he quits his current job. The time span in which he is unemployed for the sake of new job, it’s known as Frictional unemployment. This type of unemployment is temporary not permanent. Above are the some of the common types of unemployment. Though there are many other small types of unemployment but I have only discusses the important one.There are other types too Hope you’ll be benefitted.
